this was a wonderfully done novel, it had that element that I was looking for and was engaged with what was happening. The characters were everything that I was wanting from the description. Lynn H. Blackburn wrote this well and had that overall concept that I was looking for.

Book two in Gossamer Falls series. This book was great! Gray and Meredith had a long history to get past in order to work together. I thought they complimented one another wonderfully, and I especially liked Gray and all the little things he did to show Meredith he cares. Throughout the story are a lot of people to keep track of. A lot. And a couple different families, and people who’ve been melded into these families, which got confusing at times—which also would have been easier to keep straight had I just read book 1, but it’s been about a year. It was a sweet story amongst the dangers of drug running in a nearby town. The protectiveness of the brothers got to be repetitive at times, but the overall story was great and I’m looking forward to book three the most!!

I've enjoyed all of Lynn Blackburn's books, but Break My Fall from the Gossamer Falls series is on another level. Forget the two thumbs up rating; this one gets all ten fingers.
Break My Fall has everything: quirky characters, hunky heroes, twisty plot turns, survival action, a close-knit family, and the whole gamut of emotions.
That's what really got me. Usually romantic suspense books have a few clean-but-hot scenes and lots of chase'em-down action, but Break My Fall is different. I found myself highlighting line after line of quoteable wisdom and reaching for the tissue box right along with Meredith. I cried when she was hurt, cried when she realized how simple and beautiful her dreams were and yet how seemingly far away, and those tears echo the feelings that we all have.
Break My Fall is my favorite book of 2025 so far - and I have a feeling it's going to be tough to knock it out of that spot. Don't miss out on this one - read it and let me know if you agree.

I’ve been reading Lynn Blackburn’s books since the very first, and they just keep getting better and better. I loved seeing these characters again and meeting new ones. This was exciting, emotional, and definitely a page-turner. Well done, Lynn, keep writing. I plan to keep reading :)

Second in the Gossamer Falls series, this brought together two people who had strong feelings for each other but built very many reasons why the feelings couldn’t or shouldn’t be acted upon. Their eventual opening to communication was the catalyst to healing their individual selves and themselves as a couple. Though not necessary as it can be read as a stand-alone novel, I did enjoy the first in the series, Never Fall Again. The constant hovering and giving approval of Meredith and Gray’s relationship by Meredith’s family became a bit long and drawn out. It’s not exactly like many people giving advice might not have experienced hurtful relationships of their own but they were not brought out. Treating Meredith as a responsible adult much sooner would have made better movement in the story. I appreciated Gray’s giant steps in moving forward with Meredith’s feelings and his thoughts on the power of negative words. It seemed to gallop toward the conclusion a bit much but, in all honesty, I was ready for some fast-moving action. Meeting the other contributing characters at the end was good and knowing the area might provide continued healing after all the high powered action was rewarding. I look forward to the next in the series, possibly involving Bronwyn and Mo.

Break My Fall is quite the wild ride! Even when there was a break in the suspense, the emotional drama kept coming. Grey is a force to be reckoned with, especially when he's concerned about protecting Meredith. I do love a protective hero! And Meredith's extended family makes everything more interesting. They're certainly looking out for her! Grey and Meredith had a bumpy road to travel to arrive on the same page at the same time, but it was a worthwhile journey. They are so adorable together. The suspense really ramps up to nail-biting status by the end, though of course, good guys prevail. You'll have to read to find out how! This is a story you won't want to miss!
I received this book from the publisher and was not required to leave a review. This opinion is my own.

Break My Fall is the second official book the Gossamer Falls series. There was also a connected novella in the Cornered collection. While those who have read these previous stories will appreciate seeing familiar characters and spending more time with the Quinn family, this could definitely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
It didn't take long to be drawn into these wonderful characters--- Meredith particularly was hard not to root for. She was a dentist who had returned back to her hometown to provide dental services to underserved areas. She was such a giving person. But when that lands her in trouble, she needs the help of her cousin's best friend and police chief Grayson. These two had a great chemistry between them, but Grayson had some hurts in his past that kept him from wanting to fall in love. Watching his growth throughout the story was definitely a highlight for me. That romance was blended perfectly with those suspenseful moments to keep me turning the pages to see how it would all turn out. Lynn H. Blackburn never fails to create stories that will keep me on the edge of my seat, and this was no exception. If you love Christian romantic suspense, this is one you'll want to add to your TBR.
**ARC received via Netgalley for consideration. All opinions are my own.

I love the entire Quinn gang and the cozy small-town vibe of Gossamer Falls. Meeting up with Cal, Landry, Bronwyn, Mo, and Meredith again was so much fun and getting to know Gray the chief of police was very cool. I loved Meredith's heart of gold and her tendency to run headlong into trouble. Gray with his stoic, steadfast presence was the complete opposite of Meredith's bubbly nature but they complemented each other nicely. The suspense component of the plot was riveting with lots of twists and turns. The brother's best friend trope (or in this case cousin's best friend) worked well to bring Meredith and Gray together. I enjoyed the faith thread particularly in Gray's life where he had to reconsider what God's will for his life might be. Seeing Cal and Landry incredibly happy after their harrowing experience in the first book was a bonus; I can't wait to read about Bronwyn and Mo next!
I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Revell via Interviews & Reviews through NetGalley and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

Break My Fall was a captivating read taking place once again in Gossamer Falls. While the beginning of the book felt a little clunky to me - It felt like I was missing some context surrounding Meredith Quinn and her safety, I still thoroughly enjoyed the story and all of the characters living in Gossamer Falls. The mystery was well disguised and though many hints were dropped throughout the story, I was still not expecting the twist that lead to the unraveling of the whole mystery. I can't wait to journey back to Gossamer Falls again in the future.

Evil never goes without a fight. But the “good guys” don’t quit fighting when evil looks bigger than they are.
One of the better books I’ve read lately. This was another great installation in the Gossamer Falls story. The character growth from the beginning to the end of the story is meaningful, and the suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommend this clean romance/mystery novel.

"Break My Fall" is a Christian romantic suspense. This is the second book (and third story) in the series, but it works as a standalone. Grayson has lost everyone he loves, so he decided to never marry and have kids because of the risk of losing them. But he notices every detail about what Meredith likes and doesn't, and he works hard to keep her safe when she visits the neighboring county to put on free dental clinics. Everyone knows there's a drug problem in that county and even some of the police officers are corrupt.
The main characters were engaging and reacted realistically to events. But, seriously, Gray never even asked Meredith on a date, but when he told her why he avoided relationships, she reacted like he'd left her at the altar. I know she's supposed to be emotional and she felt like his rejection meant she was horribly flawed, but it just seemed overboard for the level of relationship they actually had. Once Gray realized he loved her so he'd better try to win her, he built her up every time she tore herself down with her words. She thrived under his attentions. Once they figured out that Meredith was in danger (and why), Gray and her family had to keep her safe from repeated attempts to harm her.
There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I would recommend this enjoyable suspense novel.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Dr. Meredith Quinn always planned to return to Gossamer Falls to practice dentistry. Now that she's back home, she's made it a point to offer clinics to children and adults in nearby underserved areas. Unfortunately, those same areas are known to harbor drug traffickers, and Police Chief Grayson Ward suspects that local law enforcement is looking the other way.
I couldn't wait to get back to Gossamer Falls! This is a great book and I highly recommend it.
This, my third book by Blackburn, was one of my most anticipated ARCs this month and it more than met my expectations. I’m impressed with the author’s rich storytelling, her authentic characters, and her ability to write a fantastic story balancing faith, romance and suspense. I can’t wait for the next installment.

Break My Fall takes us to Gossamer Falls and follows the story of dentist Meredith Quinn and police chief Grayson Ward. The trouble was hinted at in Cassie and Donovan’s story in the Cornered Anthology. This book opens up with Meredith in trouble, and of course, Grayson comes to her rescue. Turns out, she knows a lot of dirty secrets from the neighboring town and now people want her dead. The Quinn family works hard to protect her while navigating the best way to solve the problem. Using his contacts, Grayson pieces things together, but will they figure out things in time? The family dynamic is SO sweet and the relationship between her and Grayson is swoonworthy. This book is another amazing addition to the series. Looking forward to the next one!

So good. We return to Gossamer Falls to read about meredith Quinn and her police chief Grayson Ward. I really enjoyed this novel, the pacing was good, the story engaging and it was just a fun read. Fans of Christian suspense will enjoy it. I look forward to the next instalment (Mo & Bronwyn's story). I just wish the books were published a little closer together, it's hard to remember all the details when they only come out once a year.

I was excited to return to Gossamer Falls, and I was not disappointed!
We are reunited with past characters, mainly the Quinn big family, and boy do they rally around their loved ones and special friends!
This is Meredith Quinn along with Police Chief Grayson Ward's story, a spark between them, but problems galore.
This read features so much non-stop action, and why? Cars breaking down, and people missing? There is a reason, but the journey for the answers will have you holding your breath!
We are given some sweet romance, and visits with family that fully embrace you.
I loved Meredith, she has such a compassion for each of her patients, and she goes up and beyond for them!
Now I can't wait for the third book in this series, so good!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

It was so good to be back in Gossamer Falls and be reunited with the Quinn family. There are a lot of characters in this story and it is sometimes hard to remember the stories of other characters but the story was riveting.
I want to be a part of the Quinn family. They care so much about each other and will drop everything in a second to help each other out.
I was Team Gray in this story. I felt like he got the brunt of the Quinn family even though he had a difficult past. He worked so hard at protecting the community and those who lived within it.
I loved how Meredith took her dental clinic on the road to help those who needed it. She wore her heart on her sleeve throughout the book and was quick to care for those around her.
Thanks to Revell and netgalley for the arc. The opinions are my own.

SPLENDID!!
“And the main thing is not to expect God to go along with your plans. He has his own plans. And they’re better.” — Cal Quinn
Dr. Meredith Quinn has always had plans—big plans. After college and dental school, she always planned to return home to Gossamer Falls to practice dentistry and provide dental clinics to children and adults in underserved areas. Meredith had always planned to have a husband who cherished her alongside her, but so far, none had appeared. By coming home, her opportunities for finding love are slim. And she most definitely did not plan to end up as part of a possible kidnapping and/or murder victim. What I like most about this book is that author Lynn H. Blackburn has created authentic and multi-dimensional characters. Her main characters, Dr. Meredith Quinn and Police Chief Grayson Ward, reflect two flawed people who get a do-over after messing up the start of a relationship. They show what happens when forgiveness and grace take place between two people. The supporting cast of Meredith’s brother Mo, cousin Cal (who is like another brother), and her best friend, Bronwyn, all have her best interests in mind. Meredith’s extended family of Quinns also keeps an eye out for her. Blackburn creates a romance that is suspense-driven, and this plot is loaded! Blackburn always adds some sizzle and swoon to her romances, and readers will not be disappointed. Gray and the Quinns will have their hands full, trying to protect Meredith from the forces of evil. As she was going about her everyday life doing good, she had no idea what she was in the middle of, but it scared Gray more than anything else he had ever faced. He knew then how much he loved her. Meredith discovers God’s plans far surpass any she could have ever imagined. I highly recommend this book!!
Revell and NetGalley provided me with a complimentary copy of this book. However, my opinions are entirely my own and uninfluenced.

I'm SO happy to be back in Gossamer Falls, North Carolina with the Quinn family. Break My Fall is one of my most anticipated 2025 books! Police Chief Gray Ward & Dr. Meredith Quinn's story in Break My Fall is an amazing tale filled with suspenseful heart pounding, page-turning action, as well as humor, family, and a sweet love story.
Dr Quinn has a heart for children and adults in nearby underserved areas and offers her dentistry services a few times a year in a town 20 miles away. She named her van/mobile clinic Flossy. She hears and sees things in this corrupt town that make her a target. Gray has closed off his heart since he was a teenager after too many losses and won't let himself get too close. "Because despite his best efforts, he'd fallen hard for Meredith Quinn."
I loved ever minute of it! The characters, the setting, the story, all the wonderfully loving, quirky, loyal, and protective family members make this series a fabulous choice!
So many great lines, here are just a few:
"You've sure turned into a Quinn woman. I see that clear as day. Sweet as sugar. Stubborn as a mule." "Instead, she'd turned into a hobbit. She lived in a tiny house surrounded by family. There was a lot of delicious food, and she could eat second breakfast anytime she wanted."
"Had the goal today been to scare her? To abduct her? To kill her?"
I highly recommend Break My Fall to lovers of great storytelling, with suspense, romance, family, and delightful humor beautifully woven in.
Thank you to the author, Revell, and Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy, all opinions are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed Break My Fall! The setting of Gossamer Falls has been so engaging and really has me invested the characters in this community. There is so much love and support between the characters, it’s refreshing and makes their relationships feel really genuine!
This story is a slow burn, but in the best way! Meredith and Gray’s relationship was a long time coming! My heart was just breaking for her willingness to be vulnerable and lay her feelings on the line, even if it wasn’t openly reciprocated. I loved the behind the scenes turmoil that the reader sees in Gray until he comes to his senses and works through his past trauma. However, once his walls came down…watch out! That man was on a mission and it was fun to be along for the ride! With chemistry that sizzled and a fierce protectiveness that wouldn’t be tamed, Gray was absolutely a worthy hero! This book delivered an intense and action packed conclusion that really put these characters through the wringer. I loved this book! This series seems to be a softer side of suspense that focuses more of relationships and romance than every turn of the page danger and thrills and its completely working for me! The writing is thoughtful and forward moving without the need to sprinkle red herrings and near misses on every page. I’m here for it and this series is shaping up to be my new favorite from Lynn Blackburn!

I really enjoyed this one! Gray and Meredith's romance had me fully invested, and the connection between the characters pulled me in emotionally, making the story even more thrilling. The suspense was expertly written, keeping me hooked the entire time. There was so much at stake with the romance and the suspense, and the way they intertwined made everything even more gripping.
All the characters were well-developed and layered, which made me eager to spend more time with them in the next book. I'm especially excited for Mo and Beep, who have been teased since book one—I'm officially hooked on their story!
A big thank you to NetGalley and Revell for providing a complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are my own.
