Dexter meets Finlay Donavan is Killing It in this snarky, fast-paced thriller.
Cordelia Black is a medical sales rep by day and a vigilante by night, hunting men with dark pasts. Things get a little to close to home for Cordelia when her best friends starts dating a new man who puts Cordelia's nerves on edge. Suddenly her perfect system of keeping her personal, professional, and secret lives separate is no longer working and she has to deal with those twists and turns.
This was such a fun read, made so much better by the audiobook narrator Stefanie Kay! Loved it!
5 stars!

Cordelia is basically a high maintenance female Dexter. She has high standards in terms of items and appearance. And she happens to kill bad men. She has a routine and it is flawless. Due to some unseen circumstances, she finds herself in a place where she has to kill someone without her normal routine. She did it at her home with no way to dispose of the body. This change unravels everything. No longer is she her normal put together self. Everything is falling apart. Can she fix it before she is caught?
I really, really liked this in the beginning. While I still enjoyed the rest of it, I enjoyed it a bit less once everything started falling apart. Perhaps it is my own OCD coming through- I know I hate it when my plans fall apart on me. It is stressful, so reading about someone going through something similar gives me sympathetic anxiety, lol.
This is more funny than dark. I mean, she kills people. So it is a little dark. But think more Santa Clarita Diet- sure people die, but it is funny.
Stefanie Kay narrates the audiobook and does a good job, as usual.
I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

I loved *This Girl's A Killer*! The main character was incredible—fierce, vulnerable, and relatable. The story powerfully explored women's vulnerability and strength in a male-dominated world. I was particularly moved by how she fought fiercely to protect her loved ones, while also struggling with society’s pressure to be perfect in order to be seen and valued. Her moments of faltering and breaking down, only to collect herself again, made her journey feel raw and real.
The production was flawless—clean and immersive. The narrator truly brought life to every scene, every emotion, and every conflict, making it easy to get lost in the story. If you’re looking for a thrilling, emotional audiobook with a strong, complex female lead, *This Girl’s A Killer* is a must-listen.

This Girl's a Killer by Emma C. Wells is such an enjoyable read! I was hooked from the very beginning and loved every word. This story follows Cordelia Black, a pharmaceutical rep who has a hobby of killing bad men. Something about serial killer women taking down creepy men always works for me. Cordelia is such a complex and multifaceted character. She leads a double life that tends to put her into very interesting and entertaining situations.
The audiobook was incredible. Stefanie Kay did a stellar job at conveying the vibes of the story. Her subtle differences in tone made beautiful and distinct voices for many of the characters. And she really added a whole new level of depth to Cordelia.
Thank you to the publishers and netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is more like 3.5 but I don’t have the option to do half stars. Female Dexter story? Sign me up! I just felt like it was very repetitive and if you took a shot any time the main character said her name, you would be unlived by the end of the book. Narrator was fantastic!
I received an arc from Netgalley and the publisher.

Fantastic narrator. Perfect for the character!
Love love love love!!! I want more of this book!! I want more of Cordelia Black all day everyday. I don’t think I can sing its praises enough.
As a HUGE Dexter fan, this felt like a hug from Dexter himself!!! I felt there was inspiration from him, but on its own its own it’s incredible. A female serial killer who does away with evil men??? Yes. Yes. Yes. Sign me up. AND she’s a girls girl??? Again, yes please. I was so invested in Cordelia’s friendship and I had no idea how it would end but boy did it have me turning pages.
Is this a love story? No. I did love the side plot and love interest because it contributed to her whole story. I absolutely rooted for the serial killer. And the way it ended? I need a second book now, tomorrow, ASAP.
A first/debut by Emma Wells and one heck of a first impression. It’s been a week since I’ve finished this book and I’m still thinking of it!!
Thanks so much NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC.

This is one of the juiciest, most un-put-down-able thrillers I have read in a long time. Every moment sings with ridiculous suspense. I absolutely loved this one.
Cordelia: blonde bombshell, classy business woman, intensely devoted to her best friend and her god daughter, serial killer…?
I absolutely loved Cordelia Black, EVEN when her choices made me want to pull my hair out. She is a pharmaceutical rep by day, killer of terribly BAD men by night. She is calm, composed and always with a meticulous plan.
A couple of unfortunate dominoes fall and her carefully curated existence is crumbling rapidly… and it is extraordinary! I listened to the audio book and the narration added the cherry on top of a fabulous, pulse pounding book that you may want to throw across the room a few times.

One of the most fun suspense novels of the year so far! This was a super fun page turner about a female Dexter killer, who rids the world of bad men who do bad things. But what does she do when such a man is her best friend's boyfriend? Well... you can guess. (Spoiler alert: his head may end up in her freezer. And who among us hasn't wanted to but her best friends a-hole boyfriend's head in the freezer?)
This was a creative, fun, funny romp that basically turned its own pages until I could find out how in the world our heroine would get away with this. I loved this author's voice as well as her plotting and concept, with a feminist tone and a hilarious and humorous bent. I will be eagerly awaiting Emma Wellls's next novel (and btw, I'd love a sequel!)

solid thriller for fans of the antihero (I usually am) but I just couldn’t seem to get invested in the protagonist.
Premise - Cordelia Black is a pharmaceutical sales woman with a dirty product and a dirtier hobby: vigilante murder targeting predator men. When her bff starts dating a man who’s throwing red flags just as her work threatens to endanger her hobby, her controlled life gets a lot messier.
This one just didn’t do it for me, unfortunately. I feel like I’ve read it before and only mildly enjoyed it the first time, too? It was a well-crafted, well-paced story but I just didn’t find the protagonist interesting. She annoyed me and felt kind of like a 2024 version of the Cool Girl, so spending a whole novel in her head wasn’t great.
I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Stefanie Kay. Her voice was a great fit for the snarky, tough as nails serial killer protagonist. She did a great job making her read true to the character, I just wish I found the character more interesting.
Thanks, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, for the audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the free audiobook in exchange for my honest review. Stephanie Kay does a fantastic job narrating this book!
This is a fantastic first book by a new author! Serial killer, suspense, and mystery...all the boxes were checked for me!
Cordelia Black has three things in her life: her chosen family, her hairdresser and killing very bad men. Cordelia comes from foster care and abuse which explains her need to kill abusive, child mollester, rapist and/or general degenerates. She has a method and does not mess with it. Yet this latest kill goes completely off the rails and creates one train wreck after another. Will Cordelia finally get caught?
I absolutely loved this!!! Its well written, sarcastic and very fast paced! I could not put this one down and literally read it in a day. I am now a huge fan of Emma Wells!!!
Highly recommend!!!

I DEVOURED this audiobook!
If I had to sum this book up it would be Finlay Donovan + Butcher & Blackbird had a baby (minus the 🥵)
We get Cordelia’s POV - a good person who is also a killer of bad people
When I say I devoured, I mean I popped my earbuds in, went thrift shopping all afternoon, and listened to the ENTIRE book. I was hooked from the beginning and never wavered! I will definitely recommend for anyone who loves thrillers and suspense!
Easy 5 ⭐️
