This was such a cute story. My daughter and I loved this one so much. It was such a cute book about a sibling. My daughter was laughing at some parts. She really liked how the baby was compared to a dinosaur and that she agreed with several of the comparisons.

We are huge "How to catch a…" book fans in this home!! I know there are a lot, and we own several of them. I have said this in another book review of the same series. My kid was so excited to read these!

How to Catch a Babysaurus is as cute and fun as it sounds. This book is about having a new little one coming. This book is perfect for families that have a new addition. I wish we would have had this two years ago! Even if you don't have a little new one, it's good for any type of change. I will be adding this one to our library. The illustrations are amazing and one of my favorite things about this series. I can't wait to see what they do next.

Many thanks to Sourcebooks Wonderland and Netgalley for an e-ARC. All thoughts an opinions are my own.

We love the how to catch series by Alice Walstead.
The illustrations are lovely and a book that can be read by several age groups as well. My little thinks the stories are funny and so far how to catch the easter bunny book is her favorite. I thought the babysaurus book was a fantasic book. Highly recommend this series

Another “how to catch” book, this time about a baby dinosaur, but actually a new baby. The main character is being told by his parents that a new baby is coming, but he doesn’t understand. He’s decided that it’s a baby dinosaur; loud and smelly. Ultimately, he decides they’ll be best friends.

This is a cute concept and a fun book for a future big brother or sister, with the how to catch a baby dinosaur parallels to a new baby coming home. It is a bit of a stretch and I had to add explanation to my son for him to understand it, but the artwork is fun.

Thank you to Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Kids for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Mother of two here, and the How to Catch books, by Alice Walstead, are some of our favorites! How to Catch a Leprechaun and How to Catch an Elf are definitely favorites in our household but How to Catch a Babysaurus was so fun, and a rhyming children’s book is always a major plus for our family. Our favorite part was the older brother realizing he loves the babysaurus and wanted to keep him around. It was the perfect book for my 8-year-old to read to my 5-year-old! The illustrations are beautiful, as always, and the cover is so creative! Alice Walstead is so creative with all of these, of course we would recommend this to another family.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Kids for this eARC!

My daughters love this series. We read every one that comes out. They just got a new baby brother so this one was extra special to them. It’s so sweet how the little boy learns that playing with his baby brother is fun. The love he has for his little babysaurus is adorable. The perfect book for a child getting a baby sibling.

Uh oh, a babysaurus is coming to your home, what are you going to do? How can you catch a babysaurus? This would be perfect for kids who are getting a new sibling, but anyone could enjoy this fast-paced, brightly illustrated little story. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

Cute book that could help prepare a child for their new sibling. Reminds me of boss baby with a dinosaur twist.

How to Catch a Babysaurus, written by Alice Walstead, is the newest book in the How to Catch... series. In this sweet and hilarious book, a young boy knows that someone's on the way to live at their house with him, but he doesn't exactly know what to expect. His best friend has had a similar experience, and tells him that a Babysaurus is coming. Through a fantastic story and illustrations, our protagonist comes up with ways to shield himself and his things, but of course we have to have a happy ending!

I loved this book, and the sweet story line. I can definitely picture this being a great book to share with young readers, especially those interested in STEM or those who are a little hesitant about a little sibling. Thank you to NetGalley and to the author and publisher of this book for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Sourcebooks and Netgally for this book!

This is my first time reading a “How to Catch” book! We loved the rhyming and the flow of reading aloud was good. The illustrations were also perfect for each page. I think it’s a really fun book to read to an only child expecting their first sibling. I was expecting the “babysaurus” to be a real baby at the end, but thought it was cute regardless!

This Book is absolutely so cute! I read it to my two-year-old. She absolutely loved it. This book is for the only child who’s about to become an older sibling who doesn’t understand what it is to have a babysaurus.! When I first picked it up. I picked it up because we have how to love a loveasaurus , but after reading this one, I think I prefer this book more the illustrations were just absolutely perfectly created for every word in this book from the child trying to figure out what a babysaurus is to the child finally accepting and loving his babysaurus ! I also love at the end. They have a place where you can actually put a photo of your older child and new baby in the book.

What a great book for any older brother or sister with a new baby or baby on the way! Loved the rhyming and vocabulary provided in this book. The illustrations are perfect- so colorful and greatly depict the story. Thank you for allowing me an ARC on this cute story!!

First - thanks to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Kids for sending along an ARC of the latest book in the “How To Catch A…” series.

This book would be the perfect present for any child about to welcome a new baby into their home (meaning my 4.5 year old couldn’t relate, as she is and always will be an only child). She still really enjoyed this, and thought the pictures were cute and the rhyming scheme was easy to follow and flowed well.

As soon as we finished reading, she ran to the bookshelf in her bedroom and pulled out one of the physical copies from this series that we have, and wanted to read that one as well. She was so excited that the children in the illustrations were the same within each book - continuity is important!

This book is a heartwarming and engaging children’s story that offers a refreshing twist on introducing new babies to the family, making it an excellent resource for families welcoming a new addition and seeking a fun way to discuss this significant change. Highly recommended for its creative approach and captivating storytelling!
I received a complimentary e-copy of this book and read it with pleasure. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, Source Kids and NetGalley.

"How to Catch a Babysaurus" is an adorable book with a fun and engaging concept that young dinosaur lovers will enjoy. The illustrations are bright, playful, and full of charm, making it visually appealing for little readers. However, while the rhyming text adds to the fun, I found that the rhythm was a bit inconsistent, making it tricky to read aloud smoothly. It doesn’t quite have the natural flow that makes storytime effortless, which could be frustrating for younger audiences.

Overall, it's a cute book with a great idea and fantastic artwork, but the rhyming could have been more polished for an easier read-aloud experience. Still worth checking out if you have a little dino fan at home!

How to Catch a Babysaurus by Alice Walstead is yet another adorable rhyming book to add to this series.  This book would make a cute gift for siblings in a family expecting a baby as it tells the story of a young boy expecting a new family member except the baby is a dinosaur!  The illustrations are engaging and my seven year old just loves this fun series!

“How to Catch a Babysaurus” by Alice Walstead is an engaging book in the ‘How to Catch a’ series. The illustrations are lovely and the text flows nicely. My own children enjoyed the book but didn’t understand why the boy was trying to catch the baby dinosaur. I thought the book would have been more dynamic if it was tied to welcoming home a baby sibling which is where I thought the book was going. Despite this, the book is still a valuable addition to any school library or preschool classroom.
