This was the perfect ending for the Primas of Power trilogy. It gave me all the feelings. I loved that we got to see Ava have her happy ending! The romance in this is top notch and the self-reflection and development we get to see Ava's character go through was so rewarding.

For those that have read the other two books, we finally get to see into Ava's head and how she became the prima perfecta and why she feels she must be that way. For any eldest daughter or individual who has felt they have to be perfect to receive care or love from their families this book will pull at your heart strings. I feel like how we see Ava struggle with her wants and desires was so relatable, and frustrating, and real. I absolutely loved this.

It was fun to see the characters we've grown to love and as always watching these primas be there for each other was *chef's kiss.* If you are looking for a rewarding romance that doesn't shy away from the challenging stuff we bring into relationships you will want to pick this one up! It was so good!

This book offers a breezy, heartwarming escape, filled with witty banter, endearing mishaps, and just enough chemistry to keep the pages turning. The love interest is suitably charming, with enough depth to make their dynamic engaging, even if some of their conflicts feel a bit predictable.

While the book excels in humor and sweet moments, the protagonist’s personal growth occasionally takes a backseat to the romantic plot. A deeper exploration of their emotional journey could have added more weight to their happily-ever-after.

That said, the supporting cast adds plenty of fun, and the romantic tension is well-paced, making it easy to root for the central couple. The writing is light and engaging, perfect for readers looking for a feel-good story with a few laughs along the way. If you don’t mind a little predictability and enjoy banter-filled romance, this book is a charming pick—just don’t expect too much introspection between the meet-cutes and grand gestures.

The way I LOVED this book so much! You don't understand how amazing Ava and Roman are, they fit in a way make me believe in soulmates. Ava finally realizing that she deserves to be loved without any conditions and that helping her move forward. It's so easy in a tight knit family to but the needs and wants of others first before your own especially in a family like Ava's. Roman being there for her and learning that the biggest thing she needs from him and respecting that was beautiful. Thank you Avon and NetGalley for this arc.

I’ve loved all the books Daria has published, and Along Came Amor is no exception! The story of Ava and Roman is raw, real, and all kinds of steamy. The evolution of both characters together and as individuals was beautiful to witness! Though Along Came Amor does stand alone, reading the previous two books in the Primas Poderosas series helped, especially since the other two primas did play a big role in this storyline!

Ava, divorced schoolteacher, and Roman, self-made business mogul, have a chance meeting at the bar of one of Roman’s hotels. A one-night stand turns into no strings hook-ups when Ava requests them. Then they see each other at an engagement party. Ava’s cousin’s engagement party of which Ava is the maid of honor and Roman is the groom’s best man. Lines get blurry fast. Roman falls first, wants more and works to persuade Ava to want more too. Along Came Amor, the third book in the Primas of Power series, is a strong addition to the trilogy.

I have been waiting for Ava's story for so long. I knew she was going to get a story because her marriage wasn’t all that. I knew Ava needed something more than what she settled for. Thankfully, Ava is staring over even though she doesn’t want to, but she gets to meet Roman, who is literally made for her even though they don’t know it yet.

Ava and Roman may have started off with one night, but their chemistry for each other is off the charts. Their one night extends to multiple, which is great for me. I can see them together; they just need more time. It also helps that they are both connected to each other in some way with the upcoming wedding (Ava's cousin and Roman's best friend). What a small world. It’s definitely going to get a bit messy for Ava, who prefers to have everything in order and in control. Roman is going to make her realize that life isn’t meant to be control; just live together, preferably.

It was a long wait but Along Came Amor was a great conclusion to this series from Alexis Daria!

I loved the meet cute between Ava and Roman and seeing their relationship develop. Ava’s hesitations were very understandable given her background but I did want to see her address it sooner than the last five percent of the book. Roman was an amazing character - I loved his devotion to family and Ava, and how mature he was about Ava’s history. The epilogue was an awesome conclusion to this family we’ve grown to love.

I voluntarily read a gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I loved this. Ava and Roman have my whole heart. Ava felt a little too relatable at times and while I understood where she was coming from, I wanted her to just choose him. I felt so bad for Roman a lot of the times. Part of me wanted Ava to grovel just a tiny bit more, cause Roman was so understanding and vulnerable with her. Being an Ava myself, I just wanted her to stand up and be honest. But knowing how hard that is broke my heart so much. Alexia Daria has such an honest take on Latin culture that felt so easy to dive into and understand the characters on a real level

I enjoy Alexis Daria as an author and enjoyed going back into this friend group. With the gap in reading the first two books to this third book, it was difficult at times to remember what happened in the first two, but overall I always enjoy when authors include past characters! I felt that the characters were mature in their conversations, but didn't enjoy the back and forth the female main character had with her reasoning for not wanting a relationship. Overall a good read and would recommend Daria's books! I also enjoyed the FMC sticking up for herself with her family and finding her voice!

I love the Primas of Power series, and could not wait to get my hands on the final instalment in the series. Ava and Ramon’s story is supposed to be a no-strings fling, but the undeniable chemistry between them is impossible to ignore from the beginning . While there's plenty of love and spice, this story also explores the importance of healthy communication and setting boundaries. Ava, a classic people-pleaser, is forced to confront her over-involved family, while Ramon is pushed to reflect on his tendency to overwork and try to fix his loved one's problems.

This book did not disappoint, and I especially appreciated the epilogue which fills you in on all of the Primas of Power.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced reading copy! This was a sweet and thoughtful ending to the Primas of Power trilogy. A divorced school teacher falls for a hotel, business man mogul, but her family and their past trauma interfere. I think the best part of this book is the family drama and Ava working through her anxiety about learning to love again after a divorce. I loved that these were two adults who were learning to open up past their expectations and their careers, and I loved the happy ending for everyone - including all her primas/cousins being involved in the story. What I did not like about this book was the length - this book being over 500 pages is wild, truly there should have been some cuts, it definitely felt like it dragged at points. I recommend this book for fans of Alexis Daria, Latinx contemporary romance, and romantic comedies.

I LOVED this book! It was sexy, heart wrenching, and a beautiful love story! I've found, over the course of her books, that she is easily a favorite author. I love her writing style, her characters, their growth, and their love. Beautiful!

I am a big fan of this series. I was excited to read this story and also see what was going on with the other couples from the previous two books. This third book in the series I think was my favorite!!!!! I am a huge fan of the main male character falling first. Roman did not disappoint. When we meet our leading lady, Ava, she is newly divorced and wants a change in her life. Her family is too involved and too opinionated and Ava wants something on her own terms and that is just for her. Enter Roman. A wealthy hotel owner who makes Ava a drink and makes Ava feel special. This secretive relationship is all Ava can give Roman and even though he wants to tell the world that she is his, he meets Ava where she is in life and never pushes her too far out of her comfort zone. The family here is over the top harsh, but Ava finally finds herself and her voice on this journey. Will she get her happily ever after?

I've been waiting for this book as I really enjoyed the first two books in the series and I think this is my favorite of the bunch! Hot and steamy from the get go with intense family dynamics. The weaving together of romance, familial trauma coupled with pressure from loved ones and the fear of losing those closest to you was expertly done. Also, Roman's a literal dream come true. So, so, so good!

4.75! I had been waiting for this book for so long, and it did not disappoint! Ava, a recent divorcée, is trying to step out of her comfort zone and let loose. Enter Roman, a businessman who spots Ava at his hotel bar and is immediately captivated. He decides he has to talk to her, leading to an unforgettable night. Ava thinks that’s where their story ends but she was far from right.

This couple delivered everything! Slow burn, secret lovers, and so much yearning. And Roman? He was the definition of a man obsessed like wow! The way that Roman fell for Ava must be studied because it was perfect. What made them so compelling was their kindness to each other on a deep level. They truly listened, reassured, and supported one another. Though there was plenty of drama that made Ava hesitate, it was all so well written. Often, when a character insists on keeping a relationship secret, it feels immature. But in Ava’s case, we fully understand her fears and why they exist, making her choices feel real and justified.

It’s a long read, but by the end, I was so satisfied with how everything played out. Highly recommend!

Thank you to NetGalley, Avon, and Harper Voyager for this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

I have been waiting foreverrrrrr for the final installment in the Primas of Power series and I was so psyched to be approved for this ARC!

Along Came Amor is by far my favorite of the three books. Love Ava and Roman, love the romance, love the plot. I'm a sucker for a guy who falls first. It was a fun book while still delving into heavy topics around family and acceptance. It was the perfect wrap up to the series, and I loved the multiple year epilogue to see how the cousins are doing several years in the future. No notes!

Thanks to the publisher for an advance copy!

The final installation in Primas of Power is everything we wanted it to be. Ava Rodriguez is freshly divorced from a man who never deserved her, but her involved family just can't let go of the idea of them together. Enter the handsome Roman Vasquez, a stranger and one-night fling that she's keeping all to herself, but can't quite let go of either. As Ava and Roman continue their relationship, keeping it a secret from the friends and family, it feels uncomplicated, until it isn't. Until Roman turns out to be the best man at her cousin's wedding, the one where she's the matron of honor.

As Ava wants to end the relationship rather than have her family meddle in another relationship, Roman isn't ready to giver her up. In fact, he's ready to do whatever it takes for Ava to take him, and their relationship, seriously.

This story is the perfect ending to an excellent trilogy, wrapping up the story of not just Ava and Roman, but the other Primas of Power as well.

—the fuckbuddies to yearning pipeline

—rediscovering identity after divorce

—secret looooovers

Heat Index: 7/10

The Basics:

After her husband unexpectedly leaves, Ava is thrown for a loop and responds logically, by hooking up with a hot stranger she meets at a hotel bar (so he turns out to own the hotel—it's fine). A one night stand turns into infrequent hookups, no strings, just occasional meetings... until it turns out that Roman is best friends with the man marrying Ava's close friend and cousin. And oh, by the way, he's not content with being her dirty little secret anymore...

The Review:

Alexis Daria always writes refreshingly real heroines, from their flaws to the close bonds they share with the women in their lives. Bringing her Primas of Power series to a close with a story that literally depends on the relationship between the primas—both in terms of how Ava is constantly freaking out over her secret-keeping, and in terms of the complexities that pop up when Roman turns out to be connected to her group—makes total sense. And Ava herself turned out to be an irresistible heroine, the kind we don't often see even on contemporary romance: A woman dealing with the pretty common yet still life-changing event that is divorce.

There isn't some massive drama that occurred with Ava's marriage, right? But the suddenness of it ending still rocks her ability to believe in love, or to see the value in partnership anymore. It's no wonder she's so withholding with Roman, and there's something initially liberating about their casual hookups. But then... feelings.

It's not a super complicated setup, and the drama hound in me did sometimes want a bit more KICK! to the plot. But the conflict Ava feels over moving forward—and being truly vulnerable not only with Roman but her family—is written in a way that's both authentic and satisfying, keeping you hooked throughout.

While I'd definitely call this a heroine-forward romance (though it does have dual POVs, thank God) Roman is such a good hero. Both assertive and sweet, powerful and gentle. He's totally alluring, yet at the same time he feels like a real person. And if you like a hero who falls first...

The Sex:

First off, I love that this book kicked off with a random hookup, because adults (also: Love that Ava is 33 and Roman is 40) do that and we can fall in love after getting physical. Second... ugh, it's hot. There's also a real sense of growing intimacy with the sex scenes that was much appreciated.

Conclusion:

This is going to be a great "transitioning from spring into summer" read. In touch with reality, with just enough of the magic and fantasy of falling in love with a hot stranger who embraces your sharp edges to make it swoony.

Thanks to Avon and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
