I’ve been waiting for a few years for the last book in this series, so I was excited to get an arc. I think this was my favorite of the three! I loved Ava and her people-pleasing tendencies. Her meet cute/one-night stand with the enchanting Ramon was charming. As with the other stories in the series, the family brought on a very telenovela-like drama and I was here for it! I do wish we got a little more primas of power scenes, but I think the sweet moments between Ramon and Ava made up for it. The epilogue was one of my very favorites and I thought it was the perfect ending for all of these characters! Thanks to Avon and Netgalley for the arc!

Possibly my favorite in the series. I felt very seen by Ava. Loved her and Roman's story and both of their character arcs. I'm here for more mature love stories these days - give me characters in their 30s and 40s!

I liked this book, and it felt like such a good conclusion to the primas of power books. I really thought both of the main characters had some decent growth in this book too. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book had me feeling all types of emotions! I was very teary eyed as Ava got her happy ending with Roman.

I definitely can relate to Ava, minus the divorce, in the fact that I am also someone who is a people pleaser and am always thinking of what my family thinks. I also dealt with a relationship that broke me like her. Seeing her grow through the book and her confidence was healing to me.

In this third installment to the series, Ava Rodriguez (cousin to Jasmine and Michelle, books 1 & 2 respectively) struggles to come to grips with her own forever after. Mostly because she doesn't feel worthy. Following a divorce and lacking emotional support from her family, she has unjustified low self-esteem. But could one sexy stranger change all that? Wealthy hotel owner, Roman Vazquez, will certainly try his best.

It was just meant to be one night. HA!!! That's what they all say, lol. But clearly one night was never going to be enough with the chemistry between these two main characters. While Ava says Roman is a fling, or distraction, it was clear that Roman saw things a bit deeper. What I liked best was his patience with Ava and care for her feelings given her vulnerability.

At times Ava stepped outside of her comfort zone, I just wished she did it more often. I'm not sure why she didn't speak up during her friend's wedding planning, but I'm glad she later confronted Roman with her issues later. And he responded . . . . perfectly. In fact, he came to realize how many people use Ava because she is a people pleaser. I loved how he challenged her to stand up for herself more.

I wasn't a fan of why she hid her relationship from her friends, if you can't trust your friends to support you, then why have them? However, her secret and Roman's "line in the sand" so to speak, had an epic moment that was a turning point in the story. I would have loved to be a bystander for that drama, lol.

Overall, this was a sweet and sexy romance, with a little humor and drama mixed in. A fun installment to the series.

As usual, Alexis gives us another story that you just can't seem to want to put down. There was so much depth, it was honestly amazing. I have loved every book in this series, but this is by far my favorite, probably because Ava was such a relatable character to me. Always putting others before herself, I was often wanting to shake her while also rooting so hard for her to get her HEA. Roman was honestly the perfect partner for miss Ava, making sure she was always supported. Falling in love with them took no effort, it was an easy thing to do. I loved the banter, the spice, this was honestly the perfect ending for this amazing series.

Along Came Amor is the much-anticipated (and wholly fitting) conclusion to the Primas of Power series. Author Alexis Daria gives readers a book steeped to the brim with internal conflict that is written so deftly you feel like you have a front row seat to it all.

This novel feels so grown up. Both Ava and Roman feel fully formed and deal with real-life doubts, insecurities, and fears. I will always be excited about a male main character who is down bad for the female main character, flaws and all. Roman is book boyfriend goals, and an absolute delight to read. Ava is so heartbreakingly relatable that you just want to give her a hug and tell her to live her best life. (And the spice is spicing between these two. We’re talking multiple chili peppers worth of hotness.)

As always, Daria portrays the impact of family and community in a way that feels complex and wholly human. You feel like you could meet one of these characters walking down the street. The way that not only Ava’s story, but the stories of all of the Primas are brought to a conclusion is so beautiful. This series is darn near flawless in its arc and execution. This book was well worth the wait!

I started off really enjoying this book and the developing relationship between Ava and Roman. I liked both characters and enjoyed their conversations. But Ava really got rather tiresome. She treated Roman like her personal booty call and refused to have any deeper relationship with him even though he treated her wonderfully and really listened to her.

The author told us over and over again through Ava’s internal monologues that she had been damaged by how her family treated her as a child and how she grew to be a perfectionist who dropped everything to help her many family members even though they made her unhappy in how they spoke about her divorce from her loser ex-husband. It got so repetitive. By the second half of the book I was tired of the flow of the book: Roman would be sweet to her, she’d hold him off because of her insecurities, and then they would have many pages of sex. Rinse and repeat.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

It may have taken four years for us to get this book but it was worth it. Roman and Ava are so good together. He just wanted her to be able to stand up for herself and fight for what she wants. It sucks that they had to keep it a secret but it made sense. Her family was driving me crazy and understand that part of it is a cultural difference but I wanted her to stop talking to them at least for a little but. Roman is so patient and would wait forever for Ava.

I received an arc through netgalley.

This was okay - definitely my least favorite of the trilogy. I liked how it took place over such a long time and the age of the characters, but despite things that would make it more believable it actually felt the most unrealistic. Ava continuously rejects Roman - over and over AND OVER. And while it’s fine at first to have that by the end I was thinking maybe he could just date someone who was willing to just date him out in the open? She felt a little too old to be jerking him around so much. And while I get all the family drama on the side, at some point it’s like you’re in your mid 30s act like it.

The Primas of Power need to be made into a telenovela.
We get to read about spice, sabor, La Familia, chismes, humor and cultural details.
Ava and Roman had instant chemistry.
Ava resonated a lot with me, I understood her struggles when facing her family, the perfectionist tendencies she faced.
Roman was Ava’s hero and he falls first. He was willing to learn about Ava and her family. It was nice to see how protective he was of the people he loves.
I'm so sad to see it end! Can't wait to see what Alexis does next.
Thank you to NetGalley, Avonelle & Harper Voyager for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I didn’t read book 2, I didn’t realize this was part of a 3 book series. I’m going to have to skip this one until I catch up to the series

These covers are always to die for and this one is no different, it’s absolutely gorgeous!

This book does a lot of things well. First and foremost, the chemistry between our main characters is steamy! I love that Roman is older, and how much he loves his mom and sister, and wants to provide for them, it’s very sweet. Ava is similar is that way, but she’s such a people pleaser that it does get to be a lot at times. I also love that we get callbacks to the previous books and characters, and the world as a whole is just really well established.

As someone who also has a hard time saying no to people, I could relate to Ava in that way, and that’s probably why she was really frustrating to read sometimes. She was also so against telling Jasmine (or anyone really, but especially Jasmine) about Roman but the reasoning fell a little flat for me. You just want to shake her to have her stand up for herself.

All in all, this was a solid way to end the Primas of Power series and I’m sad to see it end, but excited to see what Alexis Daria comes out with next!

I loved this so much and stayed up late to finish all in one day! The spice y sabor, family pressures and chisme, it was so perfectly written. I already started following the author on Goodreads and added her other books to my TBR list. These characters and their experiences were so real, funny and heartfelt, and parts definitely hit home. Muchisimas gracias to Avon and Harper Voyager via Netgalley for sharing this amazing ARC!

This is a fun, spicy, relatable romance about the excitement and fears that go along with moving forward into a new relationship. The two main characters, Ava and Roman, each have their own personal struggles that they need to face and own in order to be open to one another. I haven’t read the other two books of the Primas of Power series, but fell in love with the cast of characters in this third book and am definitely planning to read the other two books. I really enjoyed Alexis Daria’s writing style and the mix of Puerto Rican sites, culture, food, and language that were mixed in. I had a hard time putting the book down between reading sessions!
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for an early galley copy of the book!

Thanks to Netgallery and Avon for the e-ARC of Along Came Amor, book 3 of the Primas of Powers by Alexis Daria.

This one follows newly divorced Ava Rodriguez, and CEO Roman Vazquez who are tangled in a "friends with benefits" situation without knowing that both of them were involved in the same wedding as made of honor and best man.

The premise is quite simple, but what I think this book excels in is how you see slow growth in the characters individually. Through Ava's journey you see a woman that is both a people pleaser and someone that believes she is not worthy of love. In Roman, we have a mmc that while hard working, has forgotten that not everything needs to be solved by him and that it's ok to take a break. Both of them throughout the book learn to lean on each other and let go of the things that are holding them back. I adored their relationship and how they were around each other. They complemented each other a lot and it made sense how their actual relationship took longer to develop despite everything starting with a one night stand.

My issue with the book is how it stayed in the same issue FOR SO LONG. I understand Ava's hesitation with starting a new relationship. I GET IT because being from a Latinx family as well, they are VERY invested on EVERYTHING you do or don't specially when it comes to romantic relationship. It can be both a blessing and a curse. With that being said, it became so annoying to see that Ava just couldn't confront her family, or at least be honest with HER COUSINS, who have been with there and for her ALL THE TIME. Like come on, it has been obvious the strength of their relationship through the books, the least she could do was to share her fear with them. I was sad for her but also mad. I do appreciate that Roman was understanding but also firm when he was tired of hiding. His feelings are valid too.

All and all, it was a good book with good Latinx representation. WHICH SIDE NOTE, I LOVE THAT PUERTO RICO WASN'T EXPLOITED or use as a simple "trope". LOVE TO SEE IT.

Again, thanks to Avon and Netgallery.

okay ava and ramon have my whole heart. i actually reread book #1 of this series back in february and i was so happy to be back in this universe. and this is my favorite of the series!

these two were so sincere. and the chemistry was so so good! and i’ve said it before but i love when a heroine got out of a bad relationship and the hero shows her how easy she is to love

Ava was used to putting everyone in her life before herself and i loved seeing Ramon help her learn to see her worth and that she can set boundaries with her crazy family.

this wrapped up the primas of power so well and i’m so excited for this book to come out at the end of may. and the event with the author i’m going to!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book ended me and brought me back to life. I think this is my FAVORITE of this excellent series from Alexis Daria, which is saying a lot, as I loved the other two.

If you would like catharsis for ever being a people pleaser AND to read a steamy romance AND to read about the most perfect couple in existence, look no further. Ava is so sympathetic. While you hate to see her struggling, you feel for her, and she feels so achingly REAL. At the same time, Roman is both swoony and perfect for Ava. He's appropriately emotionally intelligent, yet he too has flaws and things to work on. I loved how they communicated, and the whole arc for both of them just felt so earned.

One of my favorite romances I've read in quite some time. Manages to be fun, emotional, AND steamy. We love.

Also I’ll NEVER get over these covers MY GOD

I am an Alexis Daria super fan and LOVED Along Came Amor. In line with all her other books, the characters are well developed and you can't help rooting for them! I would highly recommend this book!

Thank you to the author, Avon and Harper Voyager, and NetGalley for providing a copy to review.

4.5 stars rounded up!

I knew this book was going to be a five-star read the moment Roman opened his mouth. By 30%, I was already a goner. By 2am, I was fully feral.

Along Came Amor is Alexis Daria at her best—rich with culture, family dynamics, emotional depth, and that signature spice that leaves you blushing and swooning in equal measure. Ava and Roman’s chemistry? Immediate. Electric. Unrelenting. But what really got me was how real this story felt. The pressure of being the fixer in a big, demanding family. The exhaustion of carrying everyone else’s expectations. Ava’s journey hit so close to home, I felt seen in the pages.

Roman? DOWN. BAD. FOR. HER. I loved how tender he was, how willing to wait, how he respected her boundaries while still being all in. He was ready to burn the world down for her, but more importantly—he held space for her to rebuild herself.

This was the most satisfying conclusion to the series, and I adored seeing all the cousins come together (plus more male friendship in romance, please!). It was sweet, it was spicy, and it was healing.

If you’ve ever had to remind yourself you’re allowed to take up space, to want more, to be more than just what your family needs—you need to read this book.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy. All thoughts are my own, and my heart is still recovering.
