What an absolutely fabulous story and concept. I’ve never seen a book like this, it feels so unique. I love the diversity and disability rep as well. I would have loved this book as a child. I think it’s awesome how many careers are included, very helpful for kids to learn.
The questions at the end are also a nice touch.

I love the adorable illustrations throughout this title. Very cute children of many backgrounds can be found in the pages of this alphabet book.
Many occupations are represented with one, of course for each letter of the alphabet. Start with A for Astronaut and make your way to Z for Zoologist. Kids can learn a bit about each of the careers. The book ends with a few questions to consider.
Want to inspire a child to dream and plan? If yes, think about getting this book. It is quite appealing.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Familius for this title. All opinions are my own.

This colorful A to Z book is a fun and inspiring way to introduce young readers to jobs in science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Each letter features a different career—like Engineer, Kinesiologist or Zoologist—along with kid-friendly explanations and new vocabulary words.
The pictures are muted colors but deeply engaging, and the simple descriptions help children learn big ideas in a way that makes sense. It’s a great book for building vocabulary, sparking curiosity, and showing kids all the cool things they can grow up to be.
Perfect for ages 4–8, homeschool shelves, or classroom reading corners! (Read alongside my own children; 5, 3 and 1)

This is a MAGNIFICENT A to Z career book for children. Not only are the visuals stunning and the topic important, but the flow and rhythm of this read make it an incredibly fun read a loud as well. This book checks all of the important picture book boxes, and needs to make its way into every young readers library. This book promotes earnest discovery and exploration of one’s identity. It encourages young readers to try on a bunch of different hats, and that any one of them might fit them well.

This adorable picture book provides a peek into many (26, to be exact) STEAM-related careers. Each letter shares a snippet about a career in sciences, technology or engineering, arts, math, and other related fields. Diversity is showcased through illustrations, including diverse cultures and ethnicities, gender, and abilities. Most careers included do require college or advanced degrees, but the trades are also represented in a couple letters. At the end, there are questions to help explore different careers. The rhyming text makes this perfect for a read aloud, and also accessible for upper primary readers. I think readers will be drawn to the rhyming words and the colorful and joyful illustrations.

What will I Be from A to Z by Laura Carter was full of beautiful illustrations and some amazing jobs. I feel there could have been a bit more variety in the job selections, especially more trade jobs, and more unique jobs that are not as common. There were a lot of different scientists and doctors listed. I appreciated they did not just say scientist and doctor but they weighed really heavy throughout the book. I like the questions at the end that would also gets children curious about jobs they might have heard about in the book or in life. I received an advanced reader copy from Familius through NetGalley. All opinions are 100% my own.

A nice introduction to careers in STEM with representation from children of all different ethnicities and abilities.
In general, the fact that we spend so much time talking with children about their career goals isn't great. Absolutely, encourage and shore up their interests.
And the text in this one lives in a weird space where it should almost be for older readers, but the fact that it's an alphabet book means it's not.
Regardless, the illustrations are adorable and the diversity is great.
Thank you for the arC. I will purchase for my library.

"So what will I decide to be, with options in the thousands? I don't know yet, but this I'll bet, I promise I'll move mountains."

What a book! My son and I loved it so much. The simple yet motivational explanations of each job, and especially cute illustrations.
I've read it to my son for like hundreds of times because he is still undecided about what his favorite jobs mentioned. As I am writing this review, his top three jobs are welder, zoologist, and X-ray tech.
A really recommended book to introduce different kinds of jobs to the little ones.
Thank you to Laura Carter, Familius Publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC.

I received an electronic ARC from Familius through NetGalley.
I appreciate the wide variety of careers the author includes. She challenges readers to think about how many options are available to them and to explore anything that sounds interesting. The artwork captures each career option by providing more details within the broad picture. The ending offers encouragement to explore and learn and not worry about settling on one thing too quickly. Wadsworth Carter also provides some questions at the end for readers and/or families reading together to think about.

Super cute A to Z book! I love that it offers more detailed career choices versus just the typical doctor, firefighter, police officer, etc. I would definitely recommend for any family!

Themed alphabet books are one of my favorite children's book sub-genres, and this one doesn't disappoint. This would be a great option for a read-aloud session with older children during a library or class visit; with ample opportunity to discuss different careers and hear children's thoughts about them. The illustrations are bright and inviting (with subtle details throughout) and the diversity of children across ethnicity, size, abilities and so forth is pleasant to see. The list of STEAM jobs are expanded not only to include lesser-discussed ones, but also the trades (shout-out to welders, whoop-whoop!) as well as careers that encompass a variety of skills, such as educators. It's also notable that all of the children are smiling throughout their jobs, happily collaborating with their peers and integrating their toys with their career play. I also appreciated the overarching theme of altruism and community. Throughout the book the author gently reinforces the idea that one enters these careers in part to make the world around them a better place, and to see how they can help others. It's a subtle message and an important one for children to learn, one which will resonate with the adults in their lives, as well. This was a fun read all around.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, Familius, for this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. The following thoughts and opinions are my own.

I think this is a great book for young children to read with their parents because there are some concepts and words mentioned in the book that would need further explanation. Like molecules, MRI. sediment lines, gravity...etc, however, I think this is the perfect book to get young readers to start thinking about what they want to be when they grow up and to ask questions about the professions. I loved the questions and how they focused on what a person will be doing daily. When I was a child, I wish people had honestly told me about the day-to-day work instead of the parts of the job that are glorified, because I would have made a more informed decision about my current career choice.

What an awesome book! I love all the choices available for the children. If you put your mind to it and work hard you have the opportunity be whatever you want. It was also so great to see so much diversity.
Lovely illustrated and written, very easy for younger kids to follow along.
This is a great book for any library!

An A to Z of careers for children to dream about. The illustrations are lovely. The book shows all sorts of children taking part in their dream jobs which was nice.

Thank you netgalley for the opportunity to read this book. Okay so from the moment I discovered that I was going to have a nephew, I decided to start reading more children's books. Because I want him to be good and to be able to express him self.
When I saw the cover of the book I was so excited, because I knew that it was going to be a great book for me and for my family. The illustrations are super cute and sweet, I love everything. I recommend this book to everyone not only parents or little kids.

This was so lovely. It was well thought out, designed and researched. The illustration was my favorite part. The artist does an amazing job with colors in each scene and I loved the art style. This book also does a great job showing a diverse group of children. I also appreciated that this didn’t focus on STEM careers, but also included careers in the arts. STEM is incredibly important of course, but I think in the last couple decades we have forgotten how important art is to society as well.

Love this book so much, and my class enjoyed every minute. It's a very sweet message, and I wish every parent could read this book to their child. Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy!

The drawings are so cute, the text is easy to kids understand, they are s9 curious in that age this book could be so helpful on learnin english as a second language

A STEAM focused alphabet career options book that has the most lovely illustrations. I enjoyed the rhyming cadence, and the message of how many options our kids are given, especially in our developing technological society for what they can be. Covers a wide gamut of career options without being overwhelming.

I adored this book and would definitely buy it for my own kiddo. I appreciate the variety of STEAM jobs as well as the diversity within the book too. Awesome job. I think this is great for all sorts of kids.
