The Silver Elite kept me hooked with its fast-paced action and clever twists. I really enjoyed the dynamic between the characters—it added depth and kept the stakes feeling real. Some parts felt a bit predictable, but the tension and high-stakes moments more than made up for it. Overall, it was an exciting and satisfying read that I found hard to put down.

I think this book might suffer from Fourth Wing syndrome for me. I wanted to like this book so badly. Dystopian romance for adults is right up my alley. And it's got great reviews! But this book felt so juvenile. Super entertaining, yes, absolutely. Fairly well written. Predictable? Very much so. The potential for a good dystopian story was there, but it just was never fully expanded on. The twist was pretty good. I just could not bring myself to care about Cross at all.

This was a little too immature for me. I read a lot of YA fiction but this was too heavily skewed towards romance over plot and I found it a bit dull.

Loved this book! Such a unique and interesting story and extremely fast-paced and thrilling. I ate it up in two days and it’s one of my favourite reads this year. Cannot wait for the next in the series.

Loved this Dystopian novel-adult
Wren is a Mod, a “defect” and she’s hiding her powers. When Wren’s uncle is arrested and sentenced to a public death, she causes a chaotic situation that puts her in the spot light and gets her arrested. Wren manages to fool all those who interrogate her about her powers except the captain. He decides to keep his enemy close and gives Wren a choice….either go to prison or train to become one of the Silver Elite soldiers. Wren is in an impossible situation training for the enemy and she can’t trust anyone. Important decisions and discoveries leave you guessing what’s going to happen.
Great characters that had me rooting for Wren and kept me guessing what was going to happen next!

Fourth Wing meets Hunger Games in terms of world mechanics.
Despite some frustration with questionable morality on the main characters’ parts when it comes to their romance (up until the twist is revealed), I could not stop reading this book. It fills a spot in the romantasy genre by using a tried and true formula while staying true to its own flavor.
I’m looking forward to future books to see more plot develop now that the world and Wren’s perspective is solidly laid out.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced review copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Fast-paced, fierce, and steamy!
Silver Elite throws you into a brutal dystopian world where secrets, power, and slow-burn romance collide.
Wren is a fierce heroine you'll root for, and the tension with Cross? Off the charts.
A gripping debut! 🫶🏻

Unfortunately, the mystery surrounding the author is more engaging than the actual book. Characters behave inconsistently. Many details are repeated extensively, as if the author doesn’t trust the reader to keep up and remember things. The rules established for the magic are changed at whim. The success of the main character is incongruent with her actual skills and actions. This book could have been more substantial with further editing, minor changes, and a stronger consistent voice.

This was a page turning, addictive with each chapter and left you in a cliffhanger wanting more. This is a fun dystopian plot with enemies-to-lovers and chaos like no other. I’m excited for book two!

This had dystopian elements, but it wasn’t truly dystopian. Very much romance over plot, surface level and more about the vibes than the worldbuilding. It had the potential to be so much greater than it was, and honestly, the dystopian aspects probably should’ve been removed if there was no plan to fully flesh them out. It felt like they took inspiration from Divergent and then just… left it there.
The romance became the heart of the story, overshadowing the politics and oppression of marginalized communities that were woven into the background. The “dystopia” happens off to the side while our FMC falls for someone who should be her enemy.
It’s entertaining and will definitely hold your attention if you’re here for the vibes and romance-first storytelling. But if you’re a true dystopian lover looking for depth and political grit, this might not be the book for those readers.

Silver Elite by Dani Francis is a gripping dystopian romantasy that blends tense military intrigue, hidden psychic powers, and a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance. Wren, forced to hide her dangerous abilities, must navigate the peril and politics of the elite force tasked with hunting people like her. The world-building feels vivid and layered, while the chemistry between Wren and her commanding officer crackles without overshadowing the high-stakes plot. Fast-paced, addictive, and emotionally charged, it’s perfect for fans of Divergent and Fourth Wing seeking action, romance, and suspense in equal measure.

How do you survive in a world that despises you? How can you take back control? How do you stop yourself from falling in love with the Hottie commander (insert winking face here)...
Silver Elite is a NA Dystopian Romance that follows Wren, freshly kidnapped and shoved into Silver Squad. This is a taskforce designed to unalive Mods (which she is). She must remain undercover and sneak out information from the inside. Information that could make or break the Uprising.
First of all, thank you to Netgalley and Del Rey for the Advanced Reader’s Copy (ARC) of this book. All opinions are my own.
“Don’t fall in love” they all say. This is a romance, of course there is going to be love. Lots and Lots and LOTS of love.
This felt like Divergent on E… Everything was Hottie this and Hottie that and “I think he’s cute but do i really want to go for him, even though he’s better for me?”
It was like any other dystopian out there (bring down the government) but aged for some open door things to happen.
The plot had a lot of potential, and there could have been so much room for character growth and development, especially in Cross. When the plot did start to thicken, I had a really good time. But in the end the story and the characters, for the most part, lacked a much needed depth. Certain situations only happened for the sake of the two main characters to get-it-on.
If you need a quick book to turn off your brain and meander through the story, then this is for you. If you are looking for a book that has layers… Maybe not…
In conclusion, this book was fine. A book with elements of Fourth Wings academic system, Hunger Games districts, and Divergent’s military. It was a dystopian smutty book about being in an uprising and taking down the government from the inside. It had so much potential, and I would love to see that potential grow in book 2.
3.5✨

I liked this one but I felt like it was a little overhyped. And definitely think it should've been more targeted towards Divergent/Fourth Wing fans instead of Hunger Games.
Read if you like: dystopian/futuristic vibes, forbidden love, loathe to love, secret identities

This book has an interesting premise, but the world- and characterbuilding left something to be desired.
Wren was at times infuriating in ways that frustrate me with main characters.
However, the writing is not bad and Dani Francis will get better with time, I'm sure.

I devoured this book in 2 days. It was a fun read, some of the writing made me cringe, but it was fun.
It reminded me a lot of a mix of the hunger games and divergent in different parts, and the ending was left open in preparation for what is to come, which means I will be reading the next one.
I will say, most of the enjoyment I get from this is because I love every any bit of romantasy; I swear the love story is always the same and readers like myself will purchase it regardless every single time!
With all this said, some of the “plot twists” were obvious from very early on in the book, but it is still enjoyable and quick to read

Some parts of Silver Elite had me laughing with the absurdity and yet it did not take away from the wild ride I had as a reader. This story was made for the smut train and I was happy to go along with it. It could have been 50-100 pages shorter but I still had a good time.

Dystopian future where a teen with forbidden talents inadvertently joins the ranks of the military trying to eliminate her kind. Fast paced and steamy, this is appropriate for adult readers (but I won't be purchasing for teens in our high school library).

Special thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
I really wanted to like this book! And in the beginning, I thought I would. Unfortunately, this book did not hit the mark for me.
On the surface, Silver Elite has everything there is to love. A cool post-apocalyptic world, check! Interesting and somewhat novel fantasy elements, check! A seemingly strong and badass female character, check and check!
But, in my opinion, this book lacks depth. Despite the world being super interesting, the reader gets very little information on this society and it's inner machinations. Maybe the author simply does not want to overwhelm readers with a bunch of facts that will not be important until later on in the story, but to me it made it seem like this was not well thought-out. The same thing can be said about the characters of the book. Besides Wren (the FMC) and Cross (the MMC), the other characters lack complexity and thus feel one-dimensional. When it comes to the magic/power system, I found myself wishing for more information in a similar manner. But in this regard, I am willing to give the author the benefit of the doubt since the book is written in first-person perspective and Wren doesn't seem know a lot about her own powers.
And then there is the romance... I have so many thoughts on this subject but because I do not want to spoil anything, I will just say that the characters have chemistry but need to build on their connection (in my opinion).
With that said, this book was very entertaining to read. It has a strong introduction and a lot of potential. Despite Silver Elite not being MY personal favourite, I would urge anyone who's thinking of reading this book to give it a chance.
#SilverElite #NetGalley

I was told that I would absolutely love Silver Elite and I was not steered wrong! This one was absolutely so addictive! I was completely hooked!
The characters are layered and flawed in a way that makes them feel so real. I especially loved the slow burn dynamics and the morally gray edges that kept me guessing about everyone’s true intentions.
If you’re a fan of The Divergent series, found family and just the right amount of danger then Silver Elite should be at the top of your TBR.
Thank you random house, net galley and author Dani Francis for the opportunity to read and review in exchange for my honest review.

I can only give it 3,5 - despite all the hype, it fell flat for me, if you read any dystopian book, you know what going on. I liked the characters, but I need more depth.
