Silver Elite is an addictive dystopian read, reminiscent of The Hunger Games and Divergent—but even better. Wren is fierce and relatable, and her chemistry with Cross is everything an enemies-to-lovers story should be. I truly loved this book and can't wait for its sequel.

Yeah… I’m obsessed.
This book hooked me immediately and would not let me go.
Let’s talk about Wren. She’s a total badass, but not in that annoying “perfect but flawed” way that all other characters seem to fall into. No, Wren is confident, hot-headed, and impulsive—but it works. She’s stubborn, sarcastic, and genuinely funny, which made her feel so real and human. And honestly, she’s kind of iconic:
“I would rather fight a cougar barehanded than subject myself to an uncomfortable exchange. Truly.”
(same)
And the romance? Oh. My. God. He fell so hard for her, and I lived for it. The tension, the obsession, the vulnerability—it’s all there. He’s grumpy, desperate, and completely out of control when it comes to her, and she just… plays him like a fiddle. The chemistry is 🔥🔥🔥:
“I think about you before I go to sleep.”
“I don’t think about you at all.”
(Spoiler: she’s lying.)
And don’t even get me started on the world-building. The dystopian elements are dark and gritty, with some real-world parallels that hit hard tbh:
“Fools. Nothing good ever comes from the notion that one group is better than another.”
Plus, Wren’s inner conflict is so raw—she struggles with loyalty, morality, and her own identity in a way that feels painfulllllllll:
Standing in front of my bathroom mirror, I stare at my reflection and say, “Who the fuck are you?”
This book is for fantasy lovers who want that perfect balance of romance, political intrigue, and morally gray characters. If you love complex heroines, hot MMCs who are down bad, and a world that actually makes you think—read this book. You can thank me later. 😌

5⭐️
Let me start off by saying I absolutely adored this book! The plot and characters well written. I love the tension between Wren and Cross though he is her enemy and she’s a recruit I love how obsessed he is with her. I recommend this to those who like slow burn enemies to lovers and forbidden love.

It was interesting and I like the main character. It felt like it was moving too fast and the world wasn't flushed.

4.5 ⭐
There's something fascinating about a dystopian novel. I love fantasy, but even more I love reading about a world that's ours but also not quite ours - should be no surprise when my favourite film is Equilibrium.
So for me, diving into the world of Silver Elite was fantastic - the setting, the characters, and the story. I actually can't wait to continue the series, it's a shame I have to wait so long!
On the Continent, you’re either a Prime—immune to the biotoxin that nearly wiped out the Earth’s population 150 years ago—or a Modified, one who was enhanced by the toxin, developing powerful psychic gifts.
Ever since a brutal Modified ruler was overthrown, they've been hunted by Primes. Wren, a Modified, has spent her whole life hiding what she is, but when a careless mistake puts her in the crosshairs of the military she's forced to the elite Silver Block.
It's the perfect opportunity for the Uprising (Modified rebellion) so strike a blow at the heart of the Primes oppressive rule. But as sparks start to fly between Wren and her commanding officer Cross Redden, she must decide how far she's willing to go...
Among all the fantasy out there, this was a refreshing read! It's a fairly action packed book with some fantastic characters.
I loved Wren as our main character. She's flawed and makes mistakes, but you clearly understand why she does what she does. I also appreciated that consequences existed in this book, so often main characters do whatever they want without experiencing real consequences.
Cross Redden was a great love interest, and I genuinely can't wait to see how he develops as a character over the next books - with that ending there's so many ways his development could go.
Speaking of the romance, I loved seeing it unfold. The banter and chemistry between Wren and Cross was great. It's definitely not a slow burn and as with everything else I'm excited to see what happens next.
Plot wise, I'm very intrigued. There were twists I didn't see coming and I want to know how it will all end! There are so many different ways it could evolve off that cliffhanger ending!
If you're looking for a dystopian, this should be your next read!

This title checked every box of what I want in a dystopian/romance- enemies to lovers and secret identities? Yes, please! With the market being over-saturated with romantasy, it felt really fresh and different to be reading a dystopian.

This book is the modern version of Divergent, and I mean that in the best possible way. It was so fun and fast paced, I could not put it down and blew threw it in one day. If you miss romantic dystopian, this book is bringing it back.
PROS:
- It's fast paced, a well constructed and exciting plot, with a good dose of romance
- It had some really great friendships and relationships (aside from the romance) too!
- The author managed to make me very attached to the characters very early on. Only 10% in and I was already on the verge of tears.
- It had quite a few (admittedly predictable but fun) plot twists
- Again, it gave me nostalgia for the YA dystopian era and I really think this book could bring the dystopian trend back.
CONS:
- I am not a fan of people casually calling women bitches, no matter the context, and it happens several times in this book. I really think the book would benefit from editing that out.
- The one relationship I wish had been more developed throughout the book is the one with Wolf. We are told they are close but not shown very many interactions between them.
- The main love interest progressively got more macho and possessive as the book went on, which is a big turn off for me. This is sadly the case in a lot of fantasy romance these days so I was able to ignore it and have a good time... but it is there.
- The main character is very impulsive and gets herself into helpless situations over and over again, Her impulsivity is something she recognizes, so I assume (hope) this will be part of her character arc throughout the series. I just wish she didn't expect / rely on the love interest to rescue her so often.
Overall, this was a really good time! I would definitely recommend it and cannot wait for its release so others can read and discuss it too!

Fast paced and captivating. Good world building. The cliff hanger is what kept it from five stars. Ready for book two now! Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review

5⭐️ this book has the possibility of becoming very popular and it definitely needs to because it was incredible!!
A new adult dystopian romance that had me hooked from the first page. I was stuck between not wanting to stop reading and savoring it because I didn’t want it to end! In this world there are people who are modified from radiation after the last war. Modified have special abilities like telepathy, mind control, projection, and mind reading. Our fmc Wren, is modified and ends up being forced to join a training program for the Silver Block, the most elite military group. She now has to conceal her powers because she’s really in enemy territory now.
I’m not kidding, this book is so bingeable and addicting! The romance is amazing, there is a ton of training and action, and the world is so cool! It made my younger Divergent-obsessed self so happy!
Absolutely obsessed with this book and can’t wait for the next one!
🖤 dystopian romance
🖤 training/academic setting
🖤 forbidden romance
🖤 slow burn
Thank you to Netgalley and Del Rey for the e-arc!

This was everything I wanted it to be and more!!
Dystopian romance? Sign me up!!!
It was so addictive to read I literally had to hold myself back from throwing away my whole sleep schedule just to continue. I loved how the whole dystopian setting was set up on our world and how some things really did feel like they could happen in the future.
I loved Wren as a fmc, her whole undercover mission, trying to not enjoy the training while lying to everyone’s faces and trying to suppress her attraction to Cross. I just found her overall really relatable in her thoughts and actions and I’m excited to find out more details about her past!!
The tension and spice? Off the charts. I was literally putting my kindle down to giggle at the romance and banter and the extra layer of forbidden romance (both workplace and morally) just made it 10 times better!!
The amount of secrets and play around identities in this book was wild and the amount of details that came to light left me shook!!
After that ending I am definitely at the edge of my seat for the sequel and urge everyone to pick this book up until then!

Review: Silver Elite (arc)

It’s official this just became one of my favorite books of all time, I’m speechless🥹 Who would have thought that my first ever arc would become one of my favorite reads ever!!
This book is the perfect mix between Divergent and Shatter Me and I’m completely obsessed with it!😭 It’s a dystopian fantasy romance and it has everything you could ever ask - a badass fmc, great and fast paced plot, mind powers🤭, perfect chemistry between the main characters and a funny, flirtatious side character who is EVERYTHING💗
THAT ENDING….I have so many questions I need the second book already😭 Everyone needs to get their hands on this book when it comes out May 6th, it definitely holds a special place in my heart🤍
Thank you so much NetGalley, Dani Francis and DelRey for this amazing eARC, it was a masterpiece!

My newest dystopian obsession ❤️🔥
This book was exactly what I needed! I could not put it down and devoured it in one night. It had the perfect balance of plot and romance. The pacing and story telling was well written, I had a clear picture of everything in my head as I was reading along, not notes. I did see one of the twists coming from the beginning but was excited to see how it played out and was not disappointed. 🤭
This was a great start to what I’m sure will be incredible trilogy and I cannot wait to continue reading the rest of the series!
Thank you Dani Francis and NetGalley for the eARC, it was incredible.

i love dystopian books so much and this book encapsulated everything i was looking for. i read this in less than 24hrs due to its fast pace, which made the book a lot more fun to read. each chapter had a purpose and there was no nuisances which made the book flow well. the characters are lovable and each character had their own interesting moments. it has a fourth wing x shatter me x divergent vibe which honestly made it so much more fun to read. the plot is well thought out and the plot twists were soso good. honestly, the writing was the only reason it was a 4/5 stars, as it could have been more developed in terms of the way things were described, but regardless it was still enjoyable to read.

Thank you for the eArc! I read this book in less than 24 hours, it was so good! This book is a dystopian fantasy romance. It does give similar vibes/feelings while reading that may remind us of divergent, red queen, fourth wing. However it does have it's own unique plot, characters, and takes. It follows our FMC, Wren Darlington who is living in this dystopian society as a secret mod (modified aka someone with psychic/telepathic abilities). Mods are forced to hide their powers (if they can) from the "Corporation" aka the government and their followers who detest those with powers. Unfortunately Wren finds herself under the attention of the corporation and is forced to join training to enroll in the corporation army, specifically their silver elite unit. The uprising, who want to fight back against the corporation recruit Wren to help them during this time. While training to make it into the unit Wren has to fight the tension and attraction to our MMC Cross Redden-her enemy, the general's son.
This book was so refreshing as it's been awhile since I've read a dystopian book. The plot was fast moving and kept me captivated from the beginning. I really liked Wren as an FMC, we saw her growth in this story but can still see the potential for her to continue to grow as the plot/books evolve. I thought the chemistry and banter between Wren and Cross was fantastic!! With a romance, this part is really important to me-without it I feel like the book can fall flat. But no worries here-their interactions developed right along with the plot and it was so fun to watch it unfold. There were a few twists in the story that I didn't see coming and some that I did. But it didn't take away from the experience. I was thinking about this book for days after finishing. I cannot wait for the second book! I'm really interested to see how things develop from the plot to the romance. Of course this did end on a cliffhanger so fingers crossed the 2nd book wait won't be too long! 4.5 stars and I highly recommend!!

I really enjoyed this book! Very action packed, loved the tropes. A few shockers aswell.
It did take me a little bit to work out some of the terms that are used i think there wasn't a lot of background info to the main story but I suppose that may come in a later book.
I need book 2 ❤️

This is like Fourth Wing for dystopia. It’s first-person POV and written very accessibly, with a spicy, enemies-to-lovers plot. It’s new adult; the main character is twenty, and she’s “not like the other girls” and has lots of powers. I can see it being a major hit with readers, but some of the invented slang was a little cheesy for me, and the writing not as detailed as I’d prefer.

oh hell yeah, Dystopian fantasy books are so back!! 😭 This book gave me feelings reminiscent to how I felt reading Fourth Wing and Divergent for the first time. I especially love how I knew this was a planned trilogy going into the book. This allowed me to set expectations appropriately. I know there's going to be lots of world building and our main character(s) still have time to further develop and grow. I think a big critique of this book will be how reckless (and extremely cognizant) Wren is and everyone around her knows this- and while I do agree she totally is, I think I can also appreciate how there were still very real high stakes, heavy losses, etc. for our girl and how she wasn't immune to them. I think I was used to reading fantasy books where the reckless FMC faced little to no consequences and everything pretty much felt handed to them. Again, knowing this is a planned trilogy feels like there's so much more potential to this series. The story was fast-paced and instantly gripping (not to mention, sexy as hell. lol) It's honestly off to a fantastic start! Possibly one of my top reads from Del Rey this year. 🥳 I can't wait until this book gets all the hype it deserves & I'll definitely be doing my part to make it happen. (Many thanks to Del Rey and Netgalley for the eARC)

I am absolutely obsessed with this book! It had the perfect Divergent-esque world that completely pulled me in from the very start. Cross Redden has officially stolen my heart. Seriously, the book girlies aren’t ready for this one. 🤧

Dani Francis is such a freaking incredible author. I’m starting this review before i even finish the novel. 88% and I’m dreading the end because I am OBSESSED.
I already can’t wait for every new work that comes out after this one, same series or not.
It is rare to find a novel in this “romantasy” genre that is so….good. The writing is high quality, the world is incredibly imagined & well built, the characters are all so spirited. There’s a complexity to each relationship that makes you keep pushing through the pages, even when you’re five hours past your sleep alarm.
I did have a strong inkling about the “twist” that reveals itself, but it still came with plenty of unexpected surprises, not only related to that reveal but also throughout the entire book.
Ugh, my heart. I really enjoy this novel, adore the main characters, feel like such a hardcore fan for this author, and the book hasn’t even been released yet.

For anyone who enjoys Fourth Wing (which i did because dragons, and a sort of fun whimsical world that you don’t often get to enjoy as an adult) this book is more mature, the relationships are more developed, the scenes are easier to situate yourself in, and the themes are generally pretty relatable to our reality. Especially with the current political/global environment…so ya, it is going to be VERY hard to forget this book after i finish the last chapter.
Update:
Fuck, I finished it. Fuck…
Many thanks to #NetGalley, the publishers, and the wonderfully talented Dani Francis. I am going to try my best not to have a book hangover after this one, but I can’t make any promises. I might be mulling over it for a while. Maybe until the next one is released 😔
