Goodness! I didn't think Gumluck could get any better, but now we've got visitors from the moon?! What?!

In this third installment of the series, Gumluck and Butterscotch go questing with a warrior, elf, and raccoon in tow. Along the way, they discover the true meaning of the word 'hero'.

There's unicorns and goblins and fabulous, rhyming questing songs. A wonderful addition to the series!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

My students love the Gumluck stories and this one goes right up there on the list. The characters a quirky and make the students laugh. The writing is done well along with the illustrations. My students were also starting to create their own illustrations of Gumluck and the characters. I can see students also adding their own additions to the stories too.

I really love Gumluck. He sees the world very much like the young readers who I hope will pick up this book. He has doubts, but still tries to do the right thing. His no nonsense raven friend is an excellent narrator and a great tool to explain to readers what Gumluck may have misunderstood. I wish more students would find this story and learn what a real hero looks like.

I received and ARC of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Ho. Ly. Cow. I am a huge fan of Gumluck. I'm much too old to wait on pins and needles for Helvitica to tell his next story. And yet, I do. This is definitely the best of the three so far. I love Gumluck. I just want to cuddle him. I love Helvetica. I have actual real life friends that are so much like her, it's crazy. And they are, indeed, heroes.

If Gumluck has no fans... I am dead. I love the humor style, the illustrations, and the overarching tender hearted stories that run through each volume. This book specifically I really enjoyed the age-appropriate discussions of toxic masculinity and bad friendships. I continue to recommend Gumluck to all my favorite teachers and students!

Very sweet! This time the Gumluck will go on a quest with other heroes, like D&D but knowing Gumluck as we do, we know that he won't let magical animals get caught, or hurt for the wrong reasons. This one has a lot of great characters and they even go to a Goblin Castle. We laughed a lot when Gumluck was surprised that his companions went along with his plan. The lesson is short and powerful, sometimes we want to please everyone, or do what we want, or do the right thing, but most of the time these are not the same. So happy to have read this arc.

Charming, funny, magical and wonderful! I am sad that I have only just discovered Gumluck, but even without having read the first two books, I really enjoyed the story and some of the references to previous books. Adam Rex is a gifted author with a knack for comedy, and anyone who enjoys magic and humor will love the Gumluck series.

As I read, I couldn't help but connect the magical creatures with quirky personalities to those of T.J. Klune's The House in the Cerulean Sea. I think teens who enjoyed TJ Klune would like this series, even if it is a middle grades series.

I have become a fan of Gumluck. Such a cute character with subtle lessons built in entertaining ways.
