I don't know how I feel about this one. I have a hard time compartmentalizing certain things about it, but I think the writing is fairly good.

(I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)

Charlie Winters has never been an overachiever. Working at a cheesesteak stand and living with his single mother, he is continually haunted by the voice of his younger sister who died tragically years before.
So when the older Violet sets her sights on Charlie and refuses to let go, he follows along—until a mystical young woman catches his eye and sets their lives upon a path that can’t be stopped.

Okay, the blurb sorta sounded interesting and I did like the cool, contemporary cover. And then I started reading...

This opening few pages of this book set the tone for me. Lots of description, lots of seemingly unimportant details married against unrealistic events. The story-telling left a lot to be desired.

However, as someone else pointed out in their review, the author loves to give every single thing a color description: hair, shoes, cars, bags, nipples, breasts...you name it, it was color-coded. Lots of clichés and unconnected characters left me wanting it to be over pretty quickly...
