4.5⭐️ What a beautiful and fun romance to lead into summer but wow does it pack an emotional punch. I couldn’t put this down and will be constantly thinking of Nadia and Marco’s banter. Most people in life are flawed and letting that shine through with the characters in this book was wonderful to see. Definitely recommend!

This book was a delight. I completely loved Nadia as a character. She felt very relatable. As someone with an autoimmune disease as well this felt very realistic. I liked how she dealt with this and it seemed realistic.

This was a very sweet heartfelt story. I loved Marco and Nadias love story. I felt it was fun that he was a celebrity and she was back in a small town coping with an illness.

This was such a delight. I loved how Betty Corrello made Nadia so relatable but in such a fun and silly relationship. Super cute romance. Would definitely reccomend.

After reading Betty Cordell’s book Summertime Punchline in 1 day I just knew that I had to dive into her newest release ASAP. And what a good decision that was. I was immediately drawn into the character of Nadia who is currently battling a Lupus diagnosis. She is a likable character even though quite flawed. Her relationship with Marco at first seemed ridiculous but then turned fun and sweet. I love Betty’s writing, and as I looked her up and found that she is a comedian and I was not at all surprised. If a romcom does not have funny lines with sarcastic characters who are realistic then I don’t want them.

I enjoyed this! It was a bit slow to start: I initially had a hard time connecting with the FMC or seeing her chemistry with the MMC. But as their relationship grew, I saw more of her character beyond her illness and found her more relatable, which I think was the point. This is absolutely a story about grieving a former version of yourself, and trying to be what your partner needs; only to learn that in the end, they want you just as you are. I found it tricky to trust Marco, but I think that was mainly because of Nadia's consistent deception. I wanted so badly for her to just be honest with him, because it became so clear that his feelings were true. Overall this was a very heartfelt story and I enjoyed the character growth and romance!

a perfect summer romance between a girl who took solace in the town where her family used to live after her lupus diagnoses and a K-rated actor who wants to clean his slate after scandals. This book is a raw depiction of what people go through after the diagnose and how it affects their life in general. This book is fun and heartwarming at the same time and I enjoyed it.

32 Days in May is the perfect beach read! I absolutely adore the two main characters, Nadia and Marco. Nadia has recently been diagnosed with a chronic autoimmune disease, Lupus. Marco is a celebrity who no longer wants to live in the spotlight. Both escape to the Jersey short in May in an effort to find some calm amidst their changing lives. They meet and decide to date just for May. Marco and Nadia help each other in their respective journeys through empathy, support, and encouragement. Once the plot got going, I did not want to put this book down! Betty does it again. I hope she writes about the Jersey shore again next spring. <3

Note to the publisher: The tone of the FMC took me 20-30% to adjust. The beginning of the book felt very chaotic. I decided to keep reading because I love Betty's "Summetime Punchline." While I believe the tone of the beginning of the book is authentic to the FMC, it was difficult as a reader to follow.

I enjoyed this book and thought the romance between the leads to be filled with chemistry and spice. I am not usually a big fan of the insta-love trope, but in this case it worked pretty well. Because the characters were just casually deciding to "date for a month", it was more of a friendship to start and then built. At times I felt like their feelings grew too quickly, but hey, who's to argue with love. I adored Marco. He was the perfect book boyfriend and really carried so much of this book for me. If you like authors like Carley Fortune, I think you would enjoy this one. Thanks NetGalley for the arc!

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

After losing her job due to complications from chronic illness, all Nadia Fabiola wants to do is hide. So she does just that, journeying to the small town of Evergreen, New Jersey where her family still has a vacation house. There she attempts a starting over of sorts, trading high power meetings for bike rides to the produce stand where she now works.

With friends, family, and even her doctor all concerned about the depression that has compounded her illness, each of them try to reach out in their own way. Then Nadia’s rheumatologist sort of sets her up with his cousin, Marco, a former child actor/part time bad boy. Not unlike Nadia, Marco is in also in a period of rebirth. Needless to say, these two lost souls hit it off. So when Marco suggests they extend their successful first date into a month long (but no longer than that) relationship, Nadia can’t see any reason to object. After all, it’s only for 30 days.

That’s how, throughout the month of May, Marco and Nadia attempt to fit in all the time they can “pretending” to be a real couple. But living by the beach isn’t the only thing that’s being kept at bay. As the days progress, so do their feelings, a concept that terrifies Nadia to death. As things stand, she’s enjoyed her time with Marco, but has successfully kept him from knowing the biggest part of her- her illness. Even if they were to try to make a go of it past May, is Marco ready for such a longterm commitment?

32 Days in May is the second book by author, Betty Corrello. It is also the second time Corrello has written a love letter of sorts to my home state. That being said, it was easy for me to fall in love with both the locale and the characters. In the story, Nadia has a diagnosis of lupus, though, while manageable with medication, has no cure. As someone who was diagnosed with mild lupus many years ago, I couldn’t feel Betty’s pain directly, but I did understand the uncertainty that comes with a new normal. Admittedly, I wanted a little more out of the Nadia before, as well as the details behind Marco’s evolution. Despite the lack of these details, this is still a strong story that paints both starting over and self acceptance with realism and resilience.

There was a lot about this I really liked! The setting down the shore, the banter, disability representation, and surprisingly the insta-love (usually I'm not a fan but it really worked here!) but this was one of those books where I was just like, "pleaseeee just talk to each other!!!" for most of it. I loved the character of Marco, but I wish we had more depth to his backstory, especially after all the talk about him being so troubled and his comments about being jealous of Nadia's childhood. I really liked Nadia and I felt like her perspective as she fell in love and tried to cope with her condition was so genuine and raw. Also loved the NJ Italian family representation of course! Overall, I really enjoyed this one and definitely recommend it!

This story follows an fmc who has lupus and is navigating life with family drama, medication, and unexpected love.
I really thought I was going to love this in the beginning. The fmc is so witty and funny. She also uses humor to shield from real life feelings. I love the premise in how she meets the mmc and they create a pact, which forces her to do new and spontaneous things. I just found myself not rooting for the fmc after a while. There were secrets and little white lies that I just couldn’t look past.
The story felt drawn out and I ended up skimming the last quarter of the book.

I was really hoping to love this one, but unfortunately we can’t like them all:(

Thank you Netgalley for this arc.

I love to read books with diverse casts of characters and disability representation. This book checked all the boxes. Our fmc is flawed and stubborn and our mmc falls hard and fast. The story felt very authentic and has a great message.

Thank you NetGalley, Avon and Betty Corrello for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The book took me a bit to get into and learn the FMC, Nadia’s, humor/personality but then I was really into it and impressed with the writing.

The love and care put into speaking about Lupus was enlightening, I had no idea how debilitating it could be.

The story has a few flashes to 5-6 months back but otherwise is told over the month of May.

Nadia is introduced to Marco, a “disgraced” former tv star and they agree to a month long no strings attached relationship. Both Marco and Nadia are flawed and have some pain to work through but have so much love to give. It’s truly a case of figuring it out for the right person.

The wildest thing in the entire book was the mom who hands off her 7yr old to strangers to go on a whale tour with them. It was a cute story but holy smokes, people are scary - we cannot do things like that with our children!

This book was really special and highlights in an eye opening way how you never know what someone is going through.

Ps the cover is beautiful!

trigger warnings: addiction, depression, suicidal thoughts, and dealing with illness.

Nadia is back in her childhood vacation home after being diagnosed with lupus and being fired from her job. She's rediscovering herself and what she enjoys, when her doctor introduces her to his infamous-actor cousin, Marco. The two of them hit it off instantly but their night ends in an embarrassing way. Their chemistry is undeniable, and they definitely recognize the mutual tendency to self-destruct in each other, so when Marco approaches Nadia again and suggests they "date" as a distraction for the month of May, she agrees.

I really enjoyed reading their scenes together! Since they're "dating" only for a month, they don't plan on getting serious...which is obviously what happens, despite Nadia's desire to keep her lupus diagnosis from him. Nadia’s relationships with the side characters are all satisfying and enjoyable.

This book was a quick read with an enjoyable romance that I definitely recommend

Betty Corrello is one of my favorite romance authors. I loved “Summertime Punchline” and “32 Days in May.” The stories and main characters are so different, yet both stories are driven by authenticity, humor, depth, and angst. The writing style is beautiful and immersive, the reader is fully brought into the romance and setting.

Nadia’s life has abruptly changed. She lost her job and received a Lupus diagnosis. Now, having to adjust to her new life, she leaves Philly for the beachy boardwalk of Evergreen. Marco is a minor celebrity, burnt out from the highs and lows of life and has also returned home to Evergreen for a month. They are connected and agree to date just for the month of May. There is a lot of reluctance at first and hope within this short-lived dating agreement. I loved to see these two imperfect people fall in love, and see their lives brighten because of each other.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

A no-strings attached summer fling gets very real when a woman with Lupus falls for the recovering alcoholic movie star slash photographer she meets while he's visiting for the summer. This was emotional, had fantastic disability and mental health rep (she has depression because of her diagnosis and considers suicide) and also has a lot of fun travel moments and sweet swoony gestures. A standout, ownvoices debut that is sure to be a hit this summer. 10/10 recommend! Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review!!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers, and the author for an advanced copy of this book! This was a 4.5 star book for me! I had seen this book online, but I wasn’t sure what to expect while reading this book, but I felt all the feels. I loved Nadia as a character as she tried to pick up the pieces of her life after a life changing diagnosis. Enter Marco, a former actor and her rheumatologists cousin, who she goes on messy first date with. I loved the dynamic of this book and the fact that both main characters were looking to escape their current lives in a romantic fling for the month of May. The banter between the two characters was funny and light, and I loved that Nadia had a more biting sense of humor. As a Jersey native, I appreciated that this book took place at the Jersey Shore. I flew through this book and as I progressed through the book I couldn’t wait to see what happened at the end of the month. This book is one of those fun summer reads that you can read in one sitting at the beach.
Check your trigger warnings before reading as this book deals with addiction, depression, suicidal thoughts, and dealing with illness. My only criticism of the book is the amount of internal thoughts Nadia had throughout the book that were italicized, as it made it more difficult to follow what was happening in some chapters. However, I recognize that there needs to be a way to distinguish between the dialogue in a scene and the characters internal thoughts, it is just not something I like while reading.

So bingeable, fun, and spontaneous!

I enjoyed this while not really connecting to the main characters (hence 4 stars instead of 5). Marco felt like an enigma (a pretty, flirtatious, endearing enigma but a riddle all the same). He warned Nadia not to get attached and that he uses people and then leaves them, but he seemed so head over heels fast. I think this is on me not being a huge insta love fan; however, Corrello did it really well.

Allie and Soph were awesome side characters and I would honestly love to read their story. The most supportive friends, goals!

I felt like it could’ve been longer. Reading some parts felt like sentences were missing or like it was a quick retelling. Or like listening to an audiobook on double speed. But all in all, I think that's the author's writing style, and that is totally fine. At the end of it all, it was a cute summer love story, and I would definitely recommend it.
