I love this series. "Unloved" did a fantastic job of playing off of the original theme and making better. I love a good, realistic character. This book did not disappoint with characters that face real life grief, hardship and feelings. This book was an easy read that pulled you into the story.
I was very excited to read this ahead of print. I am a sucker for a friends to lovers romance to begin with but this book really pushed the curve with the will they wont they vibe.

Highly recommend. Great read. Cant wait to see where Peyton Corrine goes from here!

Wow, I knew after reading Unsteady, I would be getting into something emotion with Unloved. But man, I was not expecting the emotion judo chop to the heart like that. Peyton Corinne is easily one of the best emotional romance authors I have ever read. Her books are not emotionally taxing or jarring, but make you really examine your own emotional depth as you journey through untapped feelings with her characters. Peyton gently peels back layers of raw feelings in such a beautiful way. Absolute chefs kiss. Matty and Ro were so beautiful, I enjoyed their story and their journeys so much. Their growth was so beautiful, their love was so beautiful. The spice was excellently done. I think Matty had several conflicts within the storyline that made it difficult to explore each of them as deeply as I wanted him to, and so maybe that detracted a teensy tiny bit from his character. But thats also such a nit picky thing, I still think the book was absolutely glorious, and just as amazing as I knew it would be after Unsteady. 10/10 would recommend to everyone. Bring tissues.

At one point in the book, our two main characters are listening to an audiobook together. "I didn't know it was going to be so emotional," Matt tells Rosalie, "the cover is two hot people ripping each other's clothes off!" I laughed out loud. While this cover, doesn't feature two people ripping each other's clothes off (maybe that's a special edition), it does indeed feature a lot of emotion and angst.

Matt is a star hockey player struggling with learning disabilities and grief over the loss of his mother, while his tutor Rosalie is dealing with a boyfriend who isn't always so nice to her. I couldn't put the book down while the two navigated a lot of emotional issues - toxic and abusive relationships, mistreatment by parents and romantic partners and the real difficulties and stigma of dealing with learning disabilities.

The relationship between the two main characters ia a really healthy one - they support each other, trust each other, see the best each other and believe in each other. It was great to see the contrast and I'd love for readers in the new adult range to be able to see healthy communication modelled along with deeply unhealthy relationships.

I would definitely recommend this book at anyone who enjoys hockey romance, but can also handle a healthy dose of angst.

Heart wrenching and hopeful!

What happens when you take two kind, love starved, abused people and put them together? Ro and Freddy show us.

This book is so sweet and heartbreaking. I wanted to climb into the book and hurt all the people hurting the MCs immediately. I don’t think the author could have done a better job of moving the characters through all they went through to gain the strength and love they deserved in the end. This book was perfection. The pacing, the drama, the character development. It was beautiful. It also felt very genuine. I don’t have the words to express everything I loved about this book but trust me, it’s a wonderful read.

after being underwhelmed by the first book, "unsteady", i should've known that i wouldn't like this one. not gonna lie... this was boring and pretty bad. it folloed the same timeline as the first book and i could not get over the feeling of having deja vu. i wish i had connected with freddy and ro more - they seemed pretty one dimensional as main characters and i quite honestly found them annoying. what's worse than having a character with no self esteem is having 2. i understand having trauma and being hard on yourself, but the whole book was the two of them being very clingy and honestly pitiful. i was able to empathize with them more towards the end and i found the epilogue to be very sweet, but i wish there was more character development throughout the book. not sure i would be continuing with this series as i also did not think the found family aspect to be that great.

I loved this book! The characters of Matt and Ro were so relatable. I identified with so many of their feelings and could feel them through the writing!

Matt is a precious cinnamon roll who deserved so much more than everything that happened to him before he met Ro!

Peyton Corrine is an auto-read author for me! I highly recommend this book for anyone who is a people pleaser or loves a people pleaser!

I thought this book had a little too much spicey scenes. I would have preferred to see more character development

Unloved followed the characters of Ro and Matt (or Freddy) while they are dealing with various difficult issues within their personal lives. We also see the characters from the first book of the series, Unsteady, continuing to build the relationships within this world.

I have not read Unsteady, so I went into this book blindly without any information on the main characters or the side characters, but I was not disappointed! Ro and Freddy present with real, raw feelings that are typically felt in real-life. Ro begins the book in an emotionally abusive relationship and we follow her learning how to love herself. I resonate deeply with Ro's character her and ability to grow despite her hardships. Freddy, on the other hand, is dealing with an intellectual disability and navigating it while he is in college. On top of that, he is also dealing with the grief of losing his mother and then not having a relationship with his father. Freddy showed so much grit and integrity throughout this story and I was inspired by his ability to get through his struggles. Ro and Freddy showed so much love for each other and PATIENCE! I feel like that is one of the takeaways from this story is to be patient with those we love.

I loved this book, however, it did not give me a five-star feeling. I'm excited for possible future books in this series and, of course, reading the first book!

I was pleasantly surprised by this one! I would even go as far to say that I loved it! As a reader who read and immensely disliked Peyton Corinne’s debut, Unsteady, when I read that the second and standalone novel in the series was focused on Ro and Freddy, I can truly say that I was excited and was looking forward to it!

Unloved was so much more enjoyable than Unsteady. It is a slow burn romance that focused on individual character arcs that were so satisfying to read and even a little realistic. Some of my gripes with Unsteady was that the characterization and character growth, as well as the romance, was believable and it lacked depth. It all fell quite flat. With Unloved, there is a tether between the characters, their arcs were fleshed out and the chemistry was written with care and passion. I loved this book and I can now say that I’m looking forward to Corinne’s next book!

I devoured this book in one afternoon! I loved Unsteady but Unloved really hit the mark for me. I could see myself so much in these characters and it felt comforting to not feel alone. i'm obssessed with peyton and her writing and i can't wait to read more

this was a cute romance, it certainly had some nice moments between the characters but overall it was just an okay read for me.
i would've liked it way more if it hadn't focused so much in some of its plots, like her ex tyler, for one. i understand what the author wanted to convey with this plot but to me it lacked nuance and it ended up just being very repetitive and long.

If I had to describe the main characters as one word, it would be cute. Not in a shallow or surface level way but to their absolute core. Ro and Freddy are such lovers, and so getting to experience their love story was just everything.

I'm so grateful to have received this book as an ARC through netgally, especially after having Unsteady as one of my top reads of 2023. I went into this book knowing they were fluff personified, and so the angst unexpectedly hit. Freddy and Ro had my heart breaking, and I loved them both so much through it.

For me, their story had so much potential, but it felt like it didn't ultimately follow through. The story had a big emphasis on healing, and I understand the choice for less severe consequences on the part of the antagonist may have been a deliberate choice. The author may have chosen it to have a more realistic story, but to have serious themes like in the case of the professor and leave it hanging feels wrong and reduced. Also, Tyler was present way too often to have a simple ending.

Overall, I think I loved Ro and Freddy, but I needed more development of their relationship on its own without other people drama.

Absolutely loved this book! It is the follow-up to Unsteady which I had not read before. It can definitely be read as a stand-alone as well.

The story follows college students Ro and Matt, or "Freddy" as he is known to his hockey teammates. Ro is highly driven in her academics and works as a tutor in the biology department. When she is assigned to work with Freddy for the fall semester, she's not sure what to expect. Freddy has always struggled academically, barely keeping his grades afloat so he can focus on hockey and getting to a career in the NHL. Ro and Freddy strike an unlikely friendship, both of them carrying difficult secrets from their past and present that slowly come to the forefront as they make their way through senior year.

Peyton Corinne does such a great job giving her characters depth. Fans of the series and new readers alike will be thrilled to get their hands on this book!

But it wasn't even the romance I'd wanted. It was my desperation for wanting to feel something real. Something overwhelming, but worth it.

This Freaking Series.
I am SO grateful to have the opportunity to read this before the release date. I loved this book so much. This series is already so well thought out, planned, the author does such a wonderful job at writing about difficult topics.

Unloved is a book about grief and re-learning how to love ourselves. There is emotionally abusive relationships, loss of a parent, neglect/manipulation from a parent, and disability representation. Rosalie, Ro, Sheriff quickly became one of my favorite female leads I have ever read about. She is extremely well intended and has a heart of gold when it comes to her friends and everyone she loves. I adored her whole heartedly.

When it came to her story about the emotional abuse she was given from an ex, it felt so real. Self confidence gets ripped to shreds when it comes to being near a narcissist and her character growth from the start to the end was well done. She was smart and learned lessons along the way as a young woman.

Matthew Freddrick was an angel of a human, he was dedicated to Ro in every way. Learned how to trust and open up because of her steadiness. His story of grief and overcoming loss was admirable and I could tell it was written with intention of doing it justice. I loved that his father figure was untraditional and not once was Archer labeled as a step-dad. It created a sense of "I chose you" when it came to the positive man in his life, even if grief tore them away slightly.

I just really adored both of their stories together, when it came to the climax of the book the antagonists were there, but most of it was their own trauma that needed to be overcome. I loved that there was a slow build up for these two MC's. I don't see how it could have been written any other way. Freddy's trauma was layered and quite complex, the loss of a parent, the manipulation of another, on top of his sexual experiences were so built on top of each other that the big breakdown made me cry for him.

If you want a strong story about love and grief, mental health representation, learning disabilities and ADHD rep. This book would be the first thing I recommend.

I think there were just a few things that made me bring down that 5 star rating, one being I needed justice served to Tyler, Carmen and Freddy's biological father. I just did not get the closure that they were caught with their abuse and manipulation. The scene with Freddy's dad and his coach was great but I wanted something legally to happen so he would be finally dropped out of his life. I wanted more from that, to close the door. They were antagonistic characters I needed to see being brought down a notch.

Also, I'm over the 'good girl' moments. There is a fine line from that being too much and I think its a book trope that has become so popular, I just feel like less is more. I don't want to be desensitized by the same words during spice scenes in every romance book I read. The slow burn fully got to me though, I loved how slow and patient Freddy was for Ro and that is always going to be a green flag for me.

I loved unsteady so much and was nervous for this one but equally excited.

Peyton Corrinne delivers so heavily on the emotions and keeping me super engaged even with a story running parallel timelines.

Freddy and Rosalie are heartbreaking characters in the best of way. Watching them put themselves together to be together was fantastic.

I stumbled across Peyton's instagram and was immediately in love with this series. So pumped to have been selected to preview Unloved which is book two in the Undone series! Be prepared to be blown away by Freddy and Ro. There are a lot of deep topics that PC covered so well. This isn't your traditional love story. Freddy and Ro work through some deep trauma to heal from their pasts. Friends to lovers will never not be my favorite. I also cannot wait for future stories with minor characters from Unloved.

3⭐️ I enjoyed this even if it wasn’t my favorite. I and finding it harder to enjoy books set in a different age range than my own. But overall the story was cute and swoon worthy. A little slow but the story really builds through all that. I’d still recommend !
