I read Unstead and Unloved the same week, and they were great! Unloved was my favorite with Freddy and Ro. I appreciate how they grew together as characters. I recommend reading both of them because they are truly special books.
Read Unloved if you enjoy:
-College hockey romance
-Tutor & athlete
-Friends-to-lovers
-Slow burn
-Found family
-Mental health & learning disability rep
-Protective MMC

“I think you’d be really easy to love.”
Matt “Freddy” Fredderic has spent his life hiding behind easy smiles and a reputation that barely scratches the surface of who he really is. Ro Shariff is a hopeless romantic who’s been let down too many times to believe in love the way she wants to. Both of them have scars—ones left by people in power who should have protected them instead of hurting them. And yet, together, they’re perfect.
This book made me feel everything and wrecked me in the best way. Peyton Corinne, I will never recover.

I loved Unsteady, and I couldn't wait to read Ro and Freddy's story. This book overlaps with the timeline of the first book, and I'm glad that I reread it before reading this one. It was good to have the refresher, and I recommend reading Unsteady. Ro and Freddy are too characters who just want someone to love them, but they look for love in the wrong places. Ro stays in an abusive relationship with a boyfriend who ignores her, talks down to her, and treats her poorly while Freddy hooks up with anyone who is interested because he thinks that people only want him for his body.
Ro is Freddy's tutor, and they become friends. I appreciate the time that they took to develop their friendship, and this book is a really slow burn. I think the characters needed this time for growth. I liked how supportive they were for each other.
I wish that I could rate this book higher, but it had some major flaws. I hated Ro's boyfriend, Tyler, and he was just horrible. I also hated the storyline with Freddy having slept with his professor. Both of these characters didn't face any repercussions for their actions, and this really bothered me.
This book is very long, and these storylines could have been cut. They were completely unnecessary. So much of this story felt like trauma dumping, and it took away from the central love story.
Something else that was missing in the book was the found family aspect. Ro's roommate, Sadie, is dating Freddy's teammate, Rhys (these were the main characters from Unsteady), and there wasn't much time with them. It could have been explored more.
Overall, I have mixed thoughts about the book. I loved Ro and Freddy, but they faced too many outside storylines that took away from their story.

Such a perfect hockey romance! I loved this follow up to the first book and getting to see Ro & Freddy’s story come to life. The banter & dynamic between the two characters starts light but quickly becomes deeper, and they explore grief and trauma in such a beautiful way. I am excited to see if the author continues this series, maybe with Bennett next?
Thanks to NetGalley & Atria Publishing for the ARC!

Peyton Corinne can do no wrong. Ro and Matty will forever live in my heart, and I have to say that their love story is one of the sweetest and most pure things I have ever read.
Your honor, I love them. Ten out of ten, No notes.
Payton does a wonderful job with making characters that are just so much more than seem on the outside. I love that Matty and Ro found healing and acceptance with eash other, and found their person. If soulmates exist, then these two are definitely soulmates.
Read this book. It's rocket romance and college romance done so right. I have loved Peyton from the moment she gave us Sadie and Rhys and I love her even more since she gave us Ro and Matty.
- Hockey Romance
- Tutor x Athlete
- Slow Burn
-Hurt x Comfort

I absolutely loved the first book so I was really excited for this one. Unfortunately, it fell a little flat for me and I got frustrated with the characters. They were a little broken and just wanted to be loved and I wanted that for them as well. Freddy and Ro were very sweet and they are both dealing with a crap hand they were dealt in life. It was emotional for sure, but sometimes it just felt self imposed or that it was harped on. I can't quite pinpoint what it was. It just did not give me the same feelings the first book did. Maybe the slow burn was just too long.
I was upset that we did not get closure for the exes ! Her ex and the professor in this book were vile people and I really needed to see karma give them a dose of consequences. Nah, we are petty over here. The professor make my skin crawl.
All in all, it was enjoyable to read but it just won't stick with me long term. Hopefully the next one will hit the mark again.
Many thanks to author, publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read and review early.

This book goes beyond a teen romance.
It is a story about self-esteem, individual capabilities, communication, healthy bonds, finding a community of people who believe in you and allow you to grow, and especially it is a story of two people (re)finding each other when they needed it most.
My full review is on Goodreads.

This book made my heart melt. As someone who has been in an emotionally/verbally abusive relationship in the past, I felt this deep into my soul. I loved watching the characters as they learn how to love, and to accept that someone loves them for all that they are. I love that we saw the raw and emotional sides of both MC's. Such an amazing story.

A cute but fairly formulaic friends-to-lovers romcom; while I enjoyed my reading experience overall, reviewing my "Notes" (quotations there for a reason lol) made me realize that it wasn't necessarily a read that stood out for me in any larger/overly impactful way. Both MCs were both likeable and easy to get behind and, if there's one thing I did find particularly (and really) wonderful, it was the mental health and learning disability representation featured for both of them. Overall a solid read and one I'd definitely recommend to all my romcom lovers out there!

Title: Unloved

Genre: Hockey Romance
Tropes: Sports romance, student/tutor, friends to lovers
Format: eARC
Rating: 4 Stars
Summary:
Ro is a hopeless romantic who has had a crush on playboy hockey star Matt “Freddy” Fedderic since their first encounter where they shared a fun memorable evening at a party. Well, at least it was memorable for her. Freddy, promised to return to her at the party and never did. Flash forward and they have a run in at another party, only this time Ro can’t remember their exchanges from that night and Freddy is the one left reeling from the comment she made, “I think you’d be really easy to love”. Freddy struggles with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD and is struggling to maintain his GPA requirement to play hockey. Ro is his new tutor. Their student/ tutor relationship lends itself to a new friendship and then more. They have an undeniable attraction and chemistry that they both try to ignore. Together they help give each other confidence and help each other see their self-worth.
Thoughts:
Favorite quote- “I think you’d be really easy to love”
I love a spicy hockey romance that also has a very sweet love story. I really liked the main characters and the development of their relationship throughout the book. They had great chemistry! Ro and Freddy have such insecurities and were able to help each find their self-worth and confidence through caring for each other. I really enjoyed this book!
Great for readers who love a sports romance, opposites attract, friends to lovers, and SPICE!
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this eARC in exchange for my honest review. Reviews posted to NetGalley, Amazon, and GoodReads.

I have very conflicted feelings about this book because on one hand, I enjoyed it and really love and connected deeply with the characters. But on the other hand, I felt that this book was overshadowed by the previous book, Unsteady. They both happen on the same timeline and while at first I enjoyed reliving events from a previous book in a different perspective, it felt like everything in Unsteady took precedence. I also was not prepared for how slow burn this was too which isn't necessarily and bad thing but I do think their relationship took too long because we only a little bit of them being together. Overall, I liked it and am very excited for the next installment.

2nd book I have read by Peyton and I enjoyed it so much. It is a hockey based book and one of my first favorite ones I have read in a while! I would recommend this book, it is a pretty easy read 4/5 for me :)

Wow this Book was just That wow! I mean I loved Unsteady with it's honesty and whole hearted demeanor, but UnLoved was in a whole other Ballpark. From the first Kiss to the last Epilogue it was truly chefs kiss if I do say so myself. Ro(Rosalie) and Matt(Freddie) were the couple, they were definitely broken in ways I saw would be difficult to heal. But those two and with their friends Sadie and Rhys it's like everything was Possible!! Thank you Peyton and Atria for allowing me to read this Book and sharing my Honest Review. Hope everyone gets to read this Book and loves it just as I did!

Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for the arc!
"I think you'd be really easy to love."
This was filled with such raw emotion that I felt physically affected while I was reading. There was the most delicious slow burn, ANGST AND YEARNING, perfect mental health representation, and the most touching and raw vulnerability. Matty and Ro were EVERYTHING! Their journey and growth cannot be understated and I would protect both of them with my life, no questions. Peyton Corinne really knocked this one out of the park!

Can't resist a hockey book if I tried!
Enjoyed this so much.
Great characters and dialogue. Can't wait to read more by Peyton Corinne.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Unloved was just the story I needed. An emotional roller coaster in the best way!! Matty is the standard for all men and you cannot tell me otherwise. Also, I am in desperate need of a Bennett Reiner story NOW.

I tore through Unloved just as quickly as I did Unsteady! Peyton Corinne doesn’t just write romance—she creates characters who battle through trauma, grief, and mental illness to become the best versions of themselves.
Matty completely stole my heart, and I felt for him over and over again. stunning FMC paired with the struggling jock—but with so much more depth and character growth.
I also loved how the storylines from books one and two intertwined. Experiencing key moments from Unsteady through Ro and Matty’s perspectives made both stories feel even more complete. I can’t wait to see whose story comes next!
Big thanks to Peyton Corinne and NetGalley for the ARC!

Peyton Corinne's "Unloved" is a slow-burning friends-to-lovers tutor/student romance with plenty of drama, wonderful character development, and a strong portrayal of mental illness, grief, and tragedy. Another feature is the character development, which is apparent throughout the story as each character grows and faces challenges. I wanted to give Rosalie a hug at the end of each chapter because of her kindness, thoughtfulness, and compassion for everyone around her. I am looking forward to the next book.
Thank you to Atria and NetGalley for the e-ARC!

That you to Atria and NetGalley for the ARC! I recently picked up Corinne’s first book in the series, so was eager to read Unloved when I saw it online. These books feel real and visceral and a great angsty take on sports romance.

4 stars.
"Unloved" by Peyton Corinne is a slow-burning friends-to-lovers tutor/student romance with a lot of drama, excellent character development, and great representation of mental illness, grief, and trauma. I found myself captivated by the characters and the situations in this story. Ro and Matty are both broken in different ways but are working to fix their brokenness. Hurt people hurt people and all of that. Even though they didn't find themselves lovable, readers can identify with their struggles to want to be loved, and we love them for it. Watching them turn from friends to lovers is quite the treat, and even when you want to shake some sense into them, they remain engaging and interesting as characters. Their arcs are fantastic, well-thought-out, and wholly realistic. I have a hunch this story will make many readers cry because it provides quite the emotional journey. I will say that this book straddles the line between normal drama and trauma p0rn. Some of the added drama doesn't feel completely authentic. It's also a little unnecessarily long. Still, I did enjoy reading this interesting book!
Thank you to NetGalley, Peyton Corinne, and Atria Books for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.
