11/10 if I had to be honest.
Freddy and Ro feel so incredibly human. They both have flaws that they're entirely aware of and yet those flaws are something that they choose to love. It's feel good and sappy and makes me sob and I'm so grateful to have read it. The cameos from the other characters makes the world feel cohesive. I read it all in one day, couldn't get enough.
It's so much a story of healing and being loved despite the things that one person finds unlovable about themselves. It's gentle and sweet and everything you want a slow-burn romance to be. and don't get me started on the tension between the two.

🌶️🌶️ 2/5
I am completely in love with this story!! It was so heartfelt and beautiful. Freddy is know as the schools playboy, someone you call for a good time, but underneath that he is lost and just wants someone to love him and tell him he is enough. Ro has her own struggles with being a perpetual people pleaser and letting her on again off again boyfriends treat her terribly. When these two come together its magic. They start out and friends but once they get to know eachother better love starts to grow. I fell so hard for Freddy and Ro's love story!! Don't tell Rhys but I think Freddy is my new favorite!

I remembered loving the first book in this series, and the second book was no different. While a little slow to get started, once I was in it, I was IN IT. I couldn't put it down! The author handles sensitive topics with such care, I was very impressed. This was a wonderful story, and the characters really were amazing together. My only complaint is that I wanted more! I can't wait for future books from this author.

NetGalley and Peyton, thank you for the ARC. I’m so grateful for this opportunity.
Ro loves dressing up in cute outfits, is a big hopeless romantic, and loves reading. She is dealing with a rocky relationship with her boyfriend.
Freddy is known as the school slut who plays hockey. He is struggling to pass his class. Freddy struggles with ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dyscalculia. Even though this know as a manwhore he’s a big-hearted and caring guy.
Ro and Freddy’s relationship was so wholesome. They are two caring souls meant for each other. Ro becoming Freddy’s tutor was the best thing that could’ve happened for them. The patience, deep connections, and vulnerability they shared were on a deeper level.
I can’t wait to add this book on my bookshelf.

I liked this one better than the first, but it was nice to have the background on some of the scenes that tied into Unsteady as well. Ro is Sadie's roommate and best friend, and she's always been a rock for Sadie. But she's often alone in their dorm, or dealing with her confusing jerk of a boyfriend.
Freddy, or Matt, is one of the hockey players on Rhys' team, and has been looking out for Ro the best he can because he knows how important she is to his friends. What he doesn't expect is that she's now his tutor, and maybe his new support system.
Watching these two fall was great, and them having each other through everything they're going through is such a real experience.

I really loved Peyton Corinne’s debut novel, Unsteady, so when my request to review the ARC for the second book in this series got accepted, I couldn’t be more excited. Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for sharing this eARC in exchange for an honest review! 3.5⭐️
Starting with the things I loved about this book, I’m a sucker for angst and drama and this book had lots of it. Between the toxic relationship between Ro and Tyler, Matty’s struggle due to his learning disabilities, and other heart-wrenching situations, my poor heart took a beating. I just wanted to jump in and hug Matty and never let go. Not gonna lie, I shed some tears during the last 40% of the book. I loved how Ro and Matty’s relationship progressed (even tho the slow burn killed me) and how they both helped each other grow more confident in their own skin. Overall, I think it’s a beautiful love story between two people who found each other in a moment of need.
Now, on to the things I didn't particularly like: Knowing how toxic Ro and Tyler’s relationship was and the horrible way he treated her, I was expecting a bigger confrontation. Seeing how Tyler slowly destroyed Ro with his words constantly (and Ro continuing to take him back) made me want to throw my Kindle out the window. And yes, I know that demonstrates the reality of many women in toxic and abusive relationships, but I just felt it was dragged along for too long and didn't have a satisfying ending. Another thing I kinda felt was incomplete was Ro’s list of things she wants to try. That list was pointed out so many times I thought Matty was going to help her complete it, but it just got sidetracked. Safe to say, there were some loose ends in this book.
All in all, Ro and Matty have my heart and I can't wait to read the next one!

WOW! I really enjoyed reading Unsteady when it first released, but this book had me hooked from the beginning. Something I love most about Peyton Corinnes books is the emotional depth she adds to her characters and the development the characters go through during the plot.
Ro and Freddy and in their senior year of college, both experiencing the hardships of grief, loss, and the belief that they are unlovable. When Ro is assigned to tutor Freddy they form a beautiful friendship that sets the foundation for the relationship that blossoms. Together, they work through the past that haunts them and learn how valuable they are as people.
This book is truly a SLOW BURN but it was so worth the wait. The patience and tenderness they showed each other was so special, it made me melt. Ro and Freddy had amazing communication and showed such maturity while handling disturbing situations.
I don't want to give too much away but if you love college hockey romances with a good backstory that will make you ball your eyes out and call your therapist, this one is for you!

After reading the first book in this series, "Unsteady" I had high hopes for this book and it did not disappoint. This book is similar in that it deals with some heavy issues but the author deals with them wonderfully and the character progression is great. I love the way Ro supports and stands up for Matt and vice versa. Both of these characters have their own issues and trauma and their support for one another is unwavering. The "unloved" have found their love in one another and its so sweet and heartwarming.
I really enjoyed this one and the steamy scenes were great!
Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Unloved had my heart! What a swoony read for me. Some of my favorite tropes, Friends To Lovers and others. Many subjects were touched on here such as mental health, health diagnosis. All written respectfully and beautifully. The friendship group was fun and loving. I truly enjoyed reading this book and have already recommended it to many friends!

Unloved is a story of two college students trying to find who they really are while building a friendship along the way.
Ro is in an on and off again relationship wishing she was in the kind of relationship that you read about in novels. Matt aka "Freddy" is a college hockey star dealing with dyslexia, dyscalculia and ADHD which are causing academic issues.
Ro ends up being Freddy's new tutor and an unlikely friendship blooms between the two.
I enjoyed reading Unloved, the characters have a lot of depth in the sense that they are both going through a lot of emotions things with family, school and friends.
This story is definitely a slow burn and for me maybe too much of a slow burn. There was something that was holding them back and I feel like it had too much weight in the overall love story.
I also feel like maybe there were too many bad things in their lives and they didn't really get resolved because there was just a little too much going on.
If you like college hockey, emotional romances I would recommend you try this book out!
Thank you to Netgalley for selecting me to read this ARC early for my honest review! I had a fun time!

this was so enjoyable, i read the first book quite a while ago so i needed a little refresher before i started but to be frank ro and freddy spoke for themselves, their story of grief and love felt so raw and honest to some of my own experiences and i can’t wait for audiences to enjoy this soon
thank you netgalley for an arc of this in exchange for my honest review!

I AM BACK IN MY HOCKEY ROMANCE ERA. This was so fun! I really did not know what to expect when going into this book, but I did not expect to me laughing HYSTERICALLY and blushing for BOTH main characters. I'll read anything Peyton puts out!

I stayed up late two nights in a row reading this one. I love tender relationships and pining in books, and Peyton's writing has really nailed the particular softness that I love.
I really like that. This one starts before the timeline of unsteady and takes place at the same time. If I had known that for sure before I went in, I would have been skeptical at how it would be done but I think that this makes the most sense that way and Peyton Corinne manages to walk the tight rope of revisiting some scenes from a new perspective without it *feeling* at all repetitive. We get to see what Freddy and Ro were doing and what Sadie and Rhys looked like from the outside.
Freddy and Ro are wonderful characters for the traumatized, people placing, desperate to be loved lonely person inside of all of us.
Unsteady was a highly anticipated and loved book by me and I really am thankful to have received this eArc from Netgalley and Atria!

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Unloved was a fantastic novel! It follows Ro, a tutor with a complication relationship with her boss/potential ex boyfriend, as she finds a confidant in Freddy, a hockey player & playbot. They have more in common than most believe. Watching their relationship build was the sweetest, and I’m so glad there was no 3rd act breakup. Highly recommend!

Ro just wants to live her college life to the fullest, but her emotionally abusive fuckboi of a boyfriend has chipped away at her confidence. When she starts tutoring past crush, Matt "Freddy" Fredderic, a genuine friendship develops that shows them both a different possibility.
College hockey star Freddy is struggling with his classes due to ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. And a lot of other challenges that are revealed slowly through the book. He needs Ro to help him, and she does in more ways than one.
I loved the build up of their relationship. It was very realistic. It sucks that we get hung up on people that don't deserve us, but especially with first relationships, but it happens. It was very sweet seeing Freddy struggle with seeing Ro in that situation but he supports her and saves her just because he thinks she's great. I can't count the amount of times when he thinks she's amazing or tells her she's smart and has great style and that she's talented. So many examples of him just praising her to her face made me love him.
Ro is amazing. She researches ways to tutor Freddy with his learning differences. She actively advocates for him. She's upset with how he is treated. She tries to stay professional but Freddy is so sweet and vulnerable.
This entire book is vulnerable. It is a wonderful example of what a healthy relationship looks like that includes all the complicated aspects of living life.
I cried multiple times 😭.

This is now my favorite book in the Undone Series!
His shortie shorts and a thigh tattoo?! Butterflies in her hair and custom jacket in honor of him?! I love Matt so much, he is such a soft broken boy. Ro is a sensitive hopeless romantic. I can relate to her in many ways.
I loved the ADHD representation, my heart hurt for Matty and younger Kim (myself) because school was always hard for me.
Their intimacy of understanding each other on a deeper level made their love feel so wholesome. The way they support each other in the book, in such different ways, is so beautiful. Other things you can look forward to:
🦋Slow Burn
⛸️Friends to Lovers
🦋Tutor x Athlete
⛸️Mental Health Rep

I absolutely loved this book! If you think this series will be your typical new adult hockey romance, think again. The characters are so rich and the story is so beautifully emotional. This is very much a story of mutual healing and there isn’t much better than that in a book
I related to Ro so deeply. Her insecurities and struggle to find her confidence. And my heart absolutely ached for Freddy. I love both of these characters separately and am absolutely obsessed with them together
It was also so nice getting glimpses of Sadie and Rhys as well. I’ll be honest, I’m not usually a fan of book series where the sequels take place concurrently with previous books in the series, but when you’re dealing with university it makes sense. I also surprisingly didn’t mind it in this book
Do yourself a favour and read this series! I think this book would work as a standalone but I think you will appreciate it more if you read Unsteady first
I am so ready for Bennett’s book!
A big thank you to Netgalley and Atria for allowing me to read this book early

Wow, just wow. I already had high expectations for this book because I absolutely loved Unsteady and god, Unloved blew me away. It was heartbreakingly heartwarming filled with incredible music, found family, handling grief, and two souls just wanting to find love.
“I think you’d be really easy to love” and that, Matthew Fredderic is. He’s a golden retriever who’s protective of the ones he loves, he’s charming and cocky with a smile that can shine as bright as the sun, isn’t afraid to be sensitive (and that’s hot), and is his own biggest critic.
Rosalie Shariff is 5’9 with curls (and yes - this is important as a 5’11 girly with curls myself). She’s incredibly intelligent, a romance book lover wanting to experience the type of love she reads about, and loves so fiercely.
From tutor/student to friends to lovers, Matt and Ro fought so dearly for one another in every aspect. Matt fought the demon (aka Tyler) both physically and mentally that haunted Ro. Ro fought the academics who tore Matt down for his learning disabilities. They fought for each other so hard and it allowed them to grow together, and on their own. Their love was so gentle and built on genuine friendship and compassion - it was everything.
The flashbacks, Elsie and Archer, Sadie with Rhys, Sadie’s little brothers, BENNETT AND TOREN!!!!! I loved it all. I’ve been calling Bennett and Toren my numbers since the start, and I really enjoyed seeing a side to them that we haven’t seen yet. There’s so much we have yet to learn and I cannot WAITTTTT!
Thank you so much to Atria Books and NetGalley for providing me with this eARC. I really missed this universe and the extremely hot dads (Max and Adam - I’m looking at you.)

Rating: 4.75
Unsteady by Peyton Corinne was a surprise favourite for me this year. Maybe it was because I went in not knowing or expecting anything but I was shocked by how much I connected with the characters. While Unloved didn’t necessarily top it, it came pretty close.
Peyton Corinne has a knack for writing characters you’ll get attached to. I cant wait to for the rest of her books just so I can read more about these characters. And the best part is, they all have some aspect to them that you can relate to.
Ro and Freddy are definitely characters that I can see people loving. Freddy and his charm and how he helps Ro find herself after a traumatic relationship. Or Ro and her very loveable nature and how she helps Freddy love himself. The two of them definitely go through a lot in this book and honestly my favourite part has to be how much she supported Freddy with his dyscalculia and dyslexia. The representation in this book was done so well.
I cant wait to read the next one.
Thank you to Atria and Netgalley for the early copy!
