I don't know why I requested this one as I don't normally enjoy small town romance vibes. Not enough danger, action, or passion for me.

I reviewed this on my site ages ago but can't find the page now. Unsure why this has reshown up as unreviewed. Closing with a five star bc I know I enjoy the author.

I always love Cassie Mae's books and this one was no different. Her novels feel like slipping into a cozy blanket on a cold rainy day. Nothing gets too deep and the romances are usually cutesy between quirky girls and down to earth guys. Eric was perfect, but Mia did act frustrating at times. Highly recommend for fans of cute new adult romances. Rating 4.5/5 stars

In an age where much of our interactions take place via a screen rather than face-to-face, the premise of this book had me intrigued. Also, being a friends to lovers junkie helped!

I think the most helpful thing I can say in reviewing this book is that while I didn't hate it, I also didn't remember much of the detail once I was done. I am of the opinion that a great book should have you wanting to tell everyone about it and you feel the need to dissect the characters and their motivations with others or even simply in your own mind. I didn't get that with The Real Thing. Did it make me question the extent to which I use social media? Yes. Was it a book I'd want my friends to read. Not really. With so many other great reads out there, this one fell flat for me.

I am going through my Netgalley account and clearing up some titles, I never downloaded this book it archived before I was able to so I am unable to read and review for this reason. I apologize that I didn't know this one had been approved.
