“If you won’t have me back anymore, then I’ll find you in the next life.”
So so good. Left of Forever features the most lovable characters, with an extraordinary amount of character growth without tedious amount of background information which sometimes happens in second chance romances.
The perfect mix of sweet, spicy, & relatable. Highly recommend.

There is nothing better than finally getting your hands on the sequel to a book that you absolutely adored, and it winding up being just as emotional and heartwarming as the first (except maybe being lucky enough to get the arc of that book after checking NetGalley every day for a month). I think it would be fair to say that my expectations for Left of Forever were so high they were basically in outer space, and I was not disappointed.
When I first reviewed Savor It, I wrote that if I could live in any romance novel, that’s the one I would choose. My desire to live in this world has only increased after finishing Left of Forever. I feel that way because I absolutely adore the magical setting and quirky characters who make up Spunes. It is the perfect small town. I love the entire Byrd family, and one thing that I thought was great about Left of Forever was getting to learn more about their backgrounds and how they grew up. It was also fun to see more of Silas and Micah, and I sincerely hope we get books for them too - I already feel Silas’ becoming my new favorite! Similarly, I also really loved the glimpses we got of Sage, Fisher, and Indy’s life together. I especially laughed at Fisher’s dynamic with the Byrd brothers.
Another reason that I love this series is because of all of the sweet little stories about their animals, so of course I loved the plot line about the horses. I thought the letter writing between “Salem and L” was a very interesting and fun way to kick the story off, and loved how everything eventually came full circle.
Finally, although I am a huge fan of Spunes and everyone who lives there, I also really enjoyed Wren and Ellis’ road trip. Each stop brought a beautiful setting and fun new characters with enjoyable side plots. Their fun (and occasionally hilarious) adventures on the road were the perfect balance to the heavy, emotional reality of what they were there to do.
My only gripe is a truly ick inducing comment that Ellis made about his mustache, which I fear has put me off of mustaches for the rest of my life. Iykyk. Why Tarah? Why would he say that?
It’s fine, I never really liked them anyway.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this amazing book early, and thank you to Tarah DeWitt for creating such a beautiful romance series - please don’t stop writing Byrd love stories!

I started this book with trepidation, given the topic, and was met with so many mixed feelings. Then Tarah DeWitt did what she does best, what I've experienced with her other books - she invited me into the heart of her characters, and I was hooked. I devoured this book in one day, smiling one minute and pausing midstep, holding my breath (audio version), the next.
The tension between characters was full of angst and hesitation. There is more to their story that lingers, you can feel the hurt and hope in their dialogue as they travel the beautiful road trip the MC plans for her. I'm not usually a fan of divorced second chances but this one is a reminder that all the things unsaid can be revisited, and growth is possible.

I really enjoyed this one. Wren and Ellis were a perfect match and the best parents to Sam. I loved seeing them come together to celebrate their son and to find their way back to each other. The fact that the Byrd family were all rooting for Wren and Ellis to reunite made it that more special.

3.75⭐️ rounding up
Ok I enjoyed this! This was a heartwarming and sweet second chance romance book.
“Left of Forever” had me giggling and swooning. I liked seeing Ellis and Wren’s journey of finding their way back to each other. This being dual pov helped get each character’s perspective into their thoughts and feelings as they tried to reconnect on their trip. You can tell how much Ellis and Wren care about each other so deeply. There’s so much history, hope, and love there. I was rooting for them🥹. Both their characters are sweet and thoughtful.
It was also sweet seeing how their family supported them and how happy it made them to see them happy.
Thank you st. martin’s press and Netgalley for the arc!

At first, I didn't know if I would like this book because I was trying so hard to figure out its angle. However, after I kept reading I kept falling more and more in love with this book. This book is beautiful and a great piece of work for second chances. It talks about hard conversations to have with your partner and how to continue love during dark times and the importance of communicating and trusting each other. The beautiful scenes between Wren and Ellis are whimsical and swoon worthy. The yearning they both have for each other tugs at your heart until they finally give in to each other. Their promise to always find each other and come back to each because they fought for each other will help other people in their relationships they may be struggling with. I loved this book and know there are always second chances as long as their is forgiveness, love, and open communication.

i had immensely high expectations for this one after reading savor it and getting a glimpse into these two and since second chance is one of my favorite tropes. the past and that connection is what i love the most and tarah did that so well! another beautifully written, sexy, and emotional book. the PERFECT second chance romance! i was gripped from the beginning and loved to read through ellis and wren growing and figuring out themselves and their relationship. ellis was 😮💨 grumpy, hot, romantic and sweet all in one. the things he’d say!! literally perfect! wren is a strong fmc, who’s funny and caring to everyone in her life.
tarah has a way of depicting true life scenarios and issues/problems people may go through in life in her books. there’s always something i learn when reading one. everyone should read this book!
can’t wait for more!!

This was my first Tarah DeWitt book and it absolutely exceeded expectations. An absolutely heartwrecking, beautiful, magical, romantic story about second chances and first loves. Thank you SO much St. Martins Press for this ARC!
I will update this feedback when my Instagram review goes live.

Well, if you were looking for a book that you stay up late reading, while sobbing uncontrollably (the good kind) to the point that you need to reapply your moisturizer… Have I got the recommendation for you.
“I’d learn how love could give you things you never dreamed of having, then trick you into wanting more.”
Wren and Ellis have the most incredible chemistry. Their emotional and physical connection jump off the pages, and their character growth through this second chance romance pulls at your heartstrings from beginning to end. The intimacy they share has you rooting for them and being patient with their decision to ‘take things slow’.
I’m so thrilled that Tarah wrote their story out for us all to enjoy. She truly is my favorite author and I love how she not only takes us back to Spunes, but also on a road trip up the West Coast where we get to see Ellis show Wren his love through action.
Thank you Tarah for caving in and creating this masterpiece for us. This is an interconnected story and I highly recommend you read Savor It first so you can fall in love with The Byrds and so many others who we meet with again throughout the pages of Left of Forever.
Thank you Tarah, St. Martin’s Press, and NetGalley!

I must admit that this fell flat for me, I’m truly thinking that I am just not a fan of second chance romances. Tarah’s writing is, as always, amazing and I love her.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Tarah Dewitt for the opportunity to read this book!!
We are back in Spunes (sort of) with the Byrds. This time we are focused on Wren and Ellis who are five years into their divorce. Their son, Sam, is graduating high school and moving to California. Ellis and Wren are taking a road trip together to reconnect and see where their relationship stands, if there is potential for a second chance.
I LOVED THIS BOOK. Savor It was one of my favorite reads of 2024 and this was a wonderful follow up. We get to see more of Silas and Micah, Ellis' younger brothers along with their interaction with Sage, their sister. This book takes place soon after Savor It, so more of Fisher, Sage, and Indy are here.
If I had to describe this book with one word it would be "longing." So much pining, and slow burn in the best way. But we don't gloss over the tough topics. What lead to the relationship's end? Is this worth pursuing again? Is there anything else here? How will this impact the rest of our family? Have we grown apart? Are we different people? All these questions and more are answered. Bravo Tarah on such a beautiful story. I hope to return back to Spunes soon.

Second chance has the potential to bleed you dry.
Tarah DeWitt decided to take that potential and raise it to the rafters where the accolades of championship winning teams deserve to be memorialized forever and more.
I feel like with second chance romance, the three most important ingredients are the angst levels, yearning to the nth degree, and swoon factor that leaves you in a puddle of tears.
Safe to say that Left of Forever check all three of these boxes and more, enough to leave an imprint on my heart and the memories of trying to read through the hiccups and fat glob of tears.

One of my favorites of the year! And definitely the author's best book yet. This book is about rekindling a marriage after divorce. There is very little subplot aside from that, which I really liked. It allows you to focus entirely on their relationship, how they began, what went wrong, and if/how they can repair it. Sometimes I worry that books about a broken marriage might be too heavy but this one was not at all. It was a quick read and gave you lots of hope throughout to keep you going. Along with some steamy scenes that were also playful and sweet. I also loved the family dynamic and how those side characters were woven into the story. Great read! Definitely one I would read again.

This was such a beautiful and heartwarming story! I’m quickly realizing second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes. I’m also obsessed with the anonymous pen pals trope, so I was really excited to see that here. I do think the second half was a lot stronger than the first and it took me some time to get all of the characters/family members straight.
Once Wren and Ellis left for their road trip and started to work through their relationship, I was a lot more invested. The spicy moments were great and I definitely got emotional learning about their history and seeing them find their way back to each other. I loved the dual POV and the fact that they were closer to my age. The ending was especially cute and left me teary eyed. I’m definitely interested in reading more from these characters.
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

oh my heart, this book.
I adored this book and Ellis & Wren's story SO much. It was hard to read, sometimes I had to set the book down, take a deep breath, and pick it right back up. There was heartache, angst, and so much redeeming love. I could not swoon more over Ellis... Thank you thank you thank you, Tarah, for including his point of view.
My heart was broken and then put all the way back together following these two. I will not soon forget them and will inevitably have to reread their story again and again (I'm a sucker for heartache).
Easily my favourite Tarah DeWitt book to date.

Five stars! What a story of redemption, love, forgiveness, and connection. Second chance to the nth degree. I was rooting for Ellis and Wren from Page 1. They were kind to each other, and communicated. It was a perfect love story. Even had me laughing out loud (the chili peppers - if you know you know.) 5/5

When I read Tarah’s other book ,”Savor it” last year I hoped we’d get a Wren and Ellis story. This book was everything I asked for and more. Both Wren and Ellis took their time apart to better them selves and heal before making to tough decision to try things out again. Second chance romance is something that is difficult to do well and “Left of Forever” won the top prize. I cried all the way through this book in the best way. The way Ellis talks about his love for Wren is so caring and passionate you can’t help but root for these two to get back together. I cannot wait for the audiobook to come out to so can experience this all over again in a new way.

"Dear Stranger. I guess that must be what we really are to each other now." 😭
I haven't had a book make me laugh and ugly cry like this since The Notebook.
If you’re a fan of second chance romances that tug at your heartstrings, this book is an absolute must-read! The emotional rollercoaster of Ellis and Wren’s journey isn’t just a romance; it’s a story about growth, self-discovery, and the possibility of second chances. This is goes down as one of my favorite reads of all time and I will be forever touched by the Bryds beautiful story.
I'm so lucky to have received this ARC from netgalley and the author Tarah. Thank you so much for sharing this personal heartfelt story with us and for being vulnerable. This story makes me feel less alone and grateful for what I have and it's an exciting feeling.

Tarah DeWitt is an automatic buy/read/love for me. I feel in love with her heart and the worlds and stories she creates in her standalone books. When I met the Wren and Ellis in “Savor It”, I was dreaming of their story. And Tarah did not disappoint with this second-chance romance.
To me, the pacing of the book was quick and relaxing to read. You could feel the love the characters felt not only for each other, but their entire world. Somehow Tarah manages to create these rich settings that make me feel like I'm right in the room with everyone. The side characters are just as entertaining as the storyline itself. I loved getting to be a part of The Byrds’s trip and rekindling. It was spicy and caring and wholesome.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this early. I can't wait to read it again and again when published!

4.5🌟 I love tarah and everything she does 🧎🏼♀️
