Loved this book! it was kind of slow paced for my liking, but the plot, drama, tension was really good.

This was absolutely a fun read! It had action, magic, royal courts, betrayal and so much more!
I enjoyed the plot a lot. There were some twists and turns which i enjoyed. The writing was also nice and easy to read and follow!

It's an enthralling story that drew me into the world quickly. The plot is interesting and captivating, making me want to read on. The writing is lively and brings the world and characters to life. I also grew to love the characters. I'm looking forward to the second book in the series.

I was sent an ARC Copy of this in exchange for a review.
The file format for this was incorrect, so when I did go to read it, the Kindle/PDF downloaded copy I had was unviable to actually be read. I did read through the first few chapters using the NetGalley shelf app, however, the book did not really grip my interest and the download ended up expiring before I could finish the book. There were quite a few spelling/grammar mistakes which also decreased my interest and made in very hard for me to become invested in the story. I also was not a big fan of the characters we were following and didn't think that their characterization was particularly well done. I felt the same towards the world-building as well, though I did find the initial concept of having rival Fae courts and different magics, quite intriguing. I think this book could have benefited from being edited more thoroughly.

A little slow and complicated but I can see the appeal for people who would choose this genre first. The characters were interesting and the relationship was somewhat exciting, just not for me.

Thank you for the e-copy.
I found the story enjoyable but it did feel a bit slow paced. It picked up towards the end and did keep me interested enough to finish the book.

Outside of a few errors I enjoyed this book. It started slow but sped up a little to keep me interested.

Firstly thank you to NetGalley and the author for an Arc of this book for a honest review.
Having read the blurb I was initially excited for this book, it sounded fantastic. However I did find once reading it, that it had a few pacing issues. I quite often found it too slow to hold my interest so it took me longer to read than usual because it just didn't have the draw initially. I did notice a few little errors but nothing that could be looked over.
I was drawn in by the fae, princes, magic and the mystery element. I personally enjoy different perspectives so dual POVs I really quite like and I think sometimes really help in learning the depths of characters. I liked the characters and the exciting and revealing twists.
It would have benefitted from more world building and action to engage me, and I did feel pacing issues especially towards the end where it felt rushed - really could have been altered easily to improve a readers experience.
Despite a bit of a mixed review I would be interested to see where this story goes and would happily read the next instalment in the series.

Fae Court, Princes, Lady's, half fae, half human, and royal mystery. This book was pretty good. It did seem a little drawed out with the plot but otherwise a good read.

It was a fun read but I would have prefered more world building and also more action, it read a bit slow at the beginning. Anyway I hope to learn more about the world in the sequel since I think it’s meant to be a trilogy.

Thank you C Tarkington for allowing me to read this book in return for my honest review. I unfortunately couldn’t vibe with this book. It felt too slow for me and I couldn’t understand or relate to any of the characters.

I had a tough time getting through this book. It had typos but for me those weren't a bother, but i had to force myself through it and because of that I just couldn't enjoy it and the end was a confusing rush. At times it felt very cliche that did not add to my enjoyment.
If you want a book that moves a bit slower with the "classic" fantasy elements, you'll like it. Unfortunately I just wasn't in this mindset when i started it.

I'm really glad I got the chance to read this book! The story for me personally was a bit slow in the beginning chapters but by the end I was on the edge of my seat. The dual-povs added a great dynamic to the narrative and gave me more depth to the story. Also, I found the characters truly interesting. While it’s not something I ususally read, I was impressed by how captivated I felt!

This was absolutely a fun read! It had action, magic, royal courts, betrayal and so much more!
I enjoyed the plot a lot. There were some twists and turns which i enjoyed. The writing was also nice and easy to read and follow!
I did find the plot rather slow and then the last 50 pages or so a bit too rushed. The ending also didn't leave us on a major cliffhanger so i didn't get this feeling of "i must read book 2 immediately to know what happens". Regardless I absolutely cant wait for book 2 to come out so i can contiue reading this world and seeing where the characters journey will lead!
Thank you Netgalley, the Writer and Publisher for an advanced reader copy in exchange of an honest review.

This was a strong start to the Court of the Underlings series, it had that feel that I wanted and enjoyed about the overall story being told. It had that fantasy element that I was looking for and enjoyed the feel of the world. The characters had that element that I was looking for and was glad I got to read this. C Tarkington wrote this perfectly and am excited for more.

Loved this book. I read it in one day as I couldn’t put it down. I can’t decide if Tal or Aven is my favorite. Really liked the action and the mystery. Still lots of unanswered question that I can’t wait to be answered in the next book!

I received this book as an advanced unedited copy. I really enjoyed this story. The dual povs were interesting and I liked how they flowed together. The story was full of interesting points and action. It was easy to follow, and Inread this in two days. I look forward to the second book.

Where do I even start? The copy I was kindly sent was unfortunately riddled with grammatical errors and misspelt words. I had a tough time following the plot due to the constant doubling back on the story from the other persons POV and just felt like the story wasn’t moving forward until suddenly everything had happened in the last 40 pages. I was so looking forward to this based on the premise but I just could not enjoy it based on these factors. I hope the book gets a serious edit before release.

I devoured this book and can't wait for the next one! The story was rich and emersive, and I loved each of the characters so much. This felt so comparable to The Night Circus in various ways, which is a most beloved story.
