Lauren Dane isn’t very popular in my store. Not sure why that is.
I loved the Chase Brothers series and thought her romance books would take off.
Wasn’t as good a hit as her other series.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on The Best Kind of Trouble. Everyone I knew was reading it and I had to know why. Sadly I don't really get the hype. It just wasn't for me and honestly I didn't really enjoy the writing as much as everyone else.

Natalie Clayton grew up with privilege, yet a neglected and disturbing childhood. She left home to care for herself at the age of seventeen, which included some wild years of her own.
Now more mature, she's living a simple yet fulfilling lived in Hood River, Oregon as a librarian. She's satisfying her addiction for all things coffee and donuts, when Paddy Hurley walks in. She's lived there for a while and can't believe it's taken this long to run into him. See, they had a wild two weeks together when Natalie was 19 and her summer off from college.
When Paddy notices and remembers Natalie, she tries to blow him off. She doesn't have time or the space in her life for the kind of lifestyle she's sure he leads. It takes some time, but Paddy finally wares her down. He knew who she was and remembered their time together over all the women he's been with. He hand his rockstar brothers have had many along the way, but none have stayed with him like Natalie.
Once things seem to be going well, Natalie's drug addict father tries to get in touch. At the same time triggering her issues with men and distrust of many people. But though they've worked through it, Paddy and Natalies seem to come upon many more obstacles, brought on by her father.
Communication is key and they figure out that they are stronger together.
I really enjoyed this one. I saw that I'd read the last book in the Delicious story many years ago and didn't seem to like it. I think this has kept me from reading other Lauren Lane books over time. But I've loved these covers for a while and decided to dive in. I'm glad I did.
I did like the snark factor between Natalie and Paddy, as well as the other Hurley boys. I also loved her friend Tuesday and am looking forward to that story next. But I did feel like though the book started off fun and flirty, with some elements of issues, it ended with more of the issues and none of the fun and flirty.
Also, things with her father weren't resolved. I think that I may be too used to other authors giving epilogues, so you are able to project how things proceed. This one just ended. Do they get engaged? Does she continue with her job? Did Damien and Mary have a boy or a girl?
So much unresolved. That's my only issue.

I enjoyed this story for the most part and I liked watching Natalie and Paddy come together but it was missing a wow factor that really pulled me in and connected me. Some things felt really drawn out in places and occasionally I found myself skimming. All in all it was an okay read for me but not enough to continue on with the series..

Didn’t get a chance to read before it was archived. Thank you for approving my request.
