While Wind and Truth wasn't the ending for the first arc of the Stormlight Archive that I was hoping for, I still think it was incredibly crafted and I will forever read everything Brandon Sanderson writes. As always, Kate reading and Michael Kramer gave a 10/10 performance.

Even as an excerpt, the Wind and Truth audiobook packs the emotional and intellectual punch we’ve come to expect from Brandon Sanderson. The narration is exceptional—clear, emotive, and perfectly paced. It draws you into Roshar from the very first line, making the high-stakes world of spren, Radiants, and ancient oaths feel as immediate and urgent as ever.
Kaladin’s internal struggles are voiced with layered vulnerability, and Shallan’s complicated identity shifts are portrayed with care and nuance. The atmospheric sound design enhances the experience without overpowering it. You can feel the weight of every decision, every pause, every storm.
Though it’s just a preview, this audiobook left me desperate for the full release. The blend of worldbuilding, character complexity, and rich narration is unmatched. If this snippet is any indication, Wind and Truth will be another unforgettable installment in The Stormlight Archive.

NetGalley Disclosure: I received a free excerpt of this audiobook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity.

Somehow, I never submitted my review for the extended excerpt. The only reason it would be a 3.5 out of 5 is because it wasn't the whole book! But I digress, this series has been fantastic, and this excerpt only made me more excited for the ending and what is to come in the future! 5/5

No notes! Brandon Sanderson as always knows exactly what he’s doing and I cannot wait to read the entire book and see how it all ends. I really think fans are going to love this book!

Perfect for me. I great end to the first arc and I am so sad that I will be waiting years for the next one. Brandon outdid himself and although I don’t think it’s the strongest in the series it’s still a worthy addition.

Sanderson delivers a stunning glimpse into the climactic heart of The Stormlight Archive. Wind and Truth: Extended Excerpt is rich with emotional weight, high-stakes conflict, and the deep character moments fans live for. Kaladin, Dalinar, Shallan, and Navani face not just battles, but the truths that could break them — or make them legends.
Even in this short preview, Sanderson’s worldbuilding soars, his action dazzles, and his themes hit hard. This isn’t just a teaser — it’s a promise: the storm is coming, and it’s going to be unforgettable.

This was a great audio excerpt! The audio book reader was fun to listen to and the story line was amazing, as was expected with a Brandon Sanderson book. It was easy to get pulled into the storyline quickly, needing to know what was coming next.

This book was soooo amazing. It provided closure to a lot of what our main sad boy Kaladin went through and truly showed his character development. We also learn a lot about Szeth and his storyline which Sanderson ties all together so beautifully. My favorite author. It was a wonderful book in which I found my heart in my throat so many times. I'm very touched by this book and really hold a special place in my heart for this story.

Of course this was 6/5 stars, it’s Brandon Sanderson. It’s from one of the best epic fantasy series of all time if not the #1 best. The narration was incredible as always, cannot wait to read this book in its entirety!

Only with Brandon Sanderson do you get an excerpt that’s 16hrs long!! I love the author’s writing but am not the biggest fan of Michael Kramer’s voice so I tend to prefer the graphic audios when I can get them. But I wasn’t going to wait the extra time between the regular version and the graphic audios so I was happy to get a head start on this fifth book in the series. We’ve been through a lot but have made it through the first arc. I’m excited to see what the next will bring!!

While the premise was nice, the writing was... not what I expected. I wanted more from the characters because I felt that what was on the front cover and the front flap was not what we were given.

My husband is obsessed with Brandon Sanderson so when I got approved for an extended excerpt it was great for us to listen to together. We had so much fun and I'm so happy we finished the book right after this. I won't say much since this is book 5 but I will say the CONNECTIONS THOUGH!!!

I absolutely love this series and was so excited to get an extended excerpt of this book, which did not disappoint! It made me really excited for what the rest of the book was going to be. I really enjoyed the characters, as they felt consistent from the previous books. I was very excited by the developments and couldn’t wait to read more!

This "excerpt" was 15 hours, and I overall liked it. I'm not the biggest high fantasy fan, but I enjoyed the interplay between characters in this book. I also haven't read any of the other books in the series, so I did feel a bit lost at times, but I think Sanderson did a good job of explaining in a way that wasn't over explanation for people who picked up this book without reading one of the series before.
Thank you for the ARC!

It's fine. Fun at times. But I've been sitting at 40% for a couple months, and II just don't enough to continue. I'm sure I will but that definitely says something about the book. The audiobook is fine. Kate Reading seems to have a cold, if that matters.

Oh. My. Stormfather.
The conclusion to this first arc of The Stormlight Archive and Cosmere Phase 1? Absolutely immaculate. I went in with sky-high expectations, and somehow, Sanderson still managed to exceed them. Every moment felt earned, every emotional beat landed perfectly, and the sheer scale of it all was breathtaking.
And let’s talk about the narration—because listening to Michael Kramer and Kate Reading again felt like coming home. Their voices are the Cosmere at this point. If there were a Spotify Wrapped for audiobook narrators, Michael Kramer would be my undisputed #1, and it wouldn't even be close.
This excerpt was just a taste, but if the full book keeps up this energy, we’re in for something legendary.

Another stunning book by Sanderson! So much character development, and story details. Good for all categories of readers. A hefty tomb, but chock full of twists and intrigue. If you're new to Sanderson I recommend starting with Tress of the Emerald Sea, or Mistborn. Then move on to this series. It's not for the feint of heart.
The audiobook readers were incredible as always. Over all an amazing book.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I am a huge Brandon Sanderson fan, and even where there were gaps in my knowledge about the Cosme universe, I still really enjoyed the journey in this one.
This part of the story is definitely the lowest point in the heroes journey, so I understand why the ending couldn’t be cathartic for most readers.
That being said, of all of the Cosmere books this one I enjoyed the least, and it was still incredible. My favorite characters are still amazing. I love his humor. I love the world building. I love the ideas that he Got me to wrestle with. I just have a hard time when the immersion is broken.

Loved this sneak peek and ready to have the whole thing. This will be a great addition to the Cosmere universe.

Dalinar Kholin must fight in a contest of champions against Odium in ten days. The results of this contest will determine the fate of Roshar and the rest of the Cosmere.
Kaladin Stormblessed is on a mission to help Dalinar recruit a Herald for the contest of champions. His companion on the journey is somebody he would have been happy to ignore. Instead, he digs deeper and uses this newfangled thing called therapy to help his traveling companion process their trauma.
Shallan Davar's journey with the elusive Ghostbloods must come to an end. As she tries to prevent Mraize from releasing a dangerous unmade, she gets stuck in a new realm. Will she stop the release of Ba-Ado-Mishram on all of Roshar?
Adolin Kholin must fight to keep contested lands away from Odium's rule after the contest.
Brandon Sanderson does it again. He's created bleak circumstances that seem impossible to beat. I'm so glad I had a chance to listen to the extended excerpt of the audiobook so I could blaze through Wind and Truth in no time. But also... what am I supposed to do until the second arc?!
