I adore this series.
McHugh is an amazing storyteller and I love her cute&fluffies.
"What happens at Comic-Con, stays at Comic-Con…"
Life can get pretty stressful and it's fun to find ways to escape. In The Heart's Game Daniel Kelly and Jenny Nguyen discover that some adages just aren't all that accurate.
Jenny Nguyen has been raised in a strict Vietnamese household. Expectations are strong but she is an American girl and has dreams of her own. Refusing to be forced into an arranged marriage causes some serious grief. Add to it the fact that she has agreed to be the surrogate for his brother and his husband. Jenny needs some down time and Comic Con seems just the place. One last night of fun before she gives up her uterus for nine months. It should be really simple, a wild night, a one night stand and poof.. back to responsible Jenny.
Dan Kelly has finally found his place. Loving his life in Seattle and enjoying his career he has one little vice, he's a gamer geek. And Comic Con is the place to be. A fun filled one night stand with pretty woman dressed as a Sailor Scout, should be fun. Even his lucky 20 sided die says so. Only the condom broke and when Dan woke and turned to tell his Sailor Scout he discovers she slipped out in the night. Unable to do much about it he returns home. Only to find his Sailor Scout works for his best friend and is part of their weekly gaming group. Dan is smitten and willing to work for more, now if he can just convince Jenny.
Jenny is not ready for a relationship, life is just too complicated right now but her attraction to Dan remains strong. Eventually Dan and Jenny decide on a friends with benefits type of relationship but complications always ensue.
Between Jenny's overbearing mother and even worse aunt. Dan's lack of true trust in person's of the female persuasion and a pregnancy all tossed in, life just keeps getting more and more interesting. Facing reality is tough and both of them have to face first their deepest fears and second reality.. Life is messy and Dan and Jenny have to navigate this together or lose it all.
