Cute and light urban fantasy - an unlikely housewife is thrown into a world of witches, elves, and fairies - as the warrior to save them from the wicked warlock. Many slapstick moments and a lot of action. Entertaining for any age, will appeal to YA, no graphic gore or spice.

I really enjoyed the older main character and the humorous elements that enriched the plot. There were moments, though, where things felt a bit confusing—perhaps intentionally so, given that the main character was also grappling with a lot of uncertainty.

This was a strong start to the Forty Something Fury series, it had that element that I wanted from the urban fantasy genre. I enjoyed the overall story going on and how the characters worked in this story going on. I was glad I got to read this and am excited to read more from Paige Andrews and Bryon Cahill.

Thank you Paige Andrews, Bryon Cahill, Netgalley and Sterling & Stone for this free ARC in exchange for a review.
It's rare to find new novels these days which have distinct characters and a story-line which holds attention, but this book does that, and does it well.
I hope this will turn into a series, cause I'd keep reading even if I didn't get an ARC.

This started out ok with an interesting premise. Then I struggled to finish the last 2/3 of the book. I wasn’t invested in any of the characters and wasn’t sure if it was meant to be funny or not. There were inconsistencies throughout (an example is in Chapter 14 where she hears the footsteps and door close after a loud gunshot that has her ears ringing). The banter was kind of strange.
I was given a copy by the publisher via NetGalley (thank you!) and all opinions are my own.

I was really looking forward to an entertaining story. This started out nicely enough, with good character development. Sadly, once Angie accepted the premise of coexisting otherworldly characters, it did not carry through very well. It is a very interesting premise, but the writing just felt hurried and lacking. I did not finish the book. I don’t know if I just had too high expectations or not. I found myself gradually forcing myself to continue reading, and eventually gave up. Again, it is an interesting story, just needs a little more development. Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review.
