Thanks NetGalley for the ARC for my honest review. This story was about Lexi who was summoned back home a year after her Moms passing. Lexi and her Sister, Ashley, have been given the task of delivering 6 envelopes to people that their Mom owed. Due to her winning the lottery before she died, she is able to repay some debts. Heath, a long time friend of the girls, is overseeing this chore. Lexi and Ashley have never had a close relationship due to their Moms decisions in life. So Daisy, their Mom, felt having them deliver the letters together would force them to spend time together in hopes of bringing them close since they are all each other has now. This book was about the journey between enemies becoming friends and maybe more and sisters attempting to build a lasting relationship which they never had. It was a good story.

When I downloaded this ARC I did not know this was an 8th book in a series. Now it wasn't confusing because of that but I did feel like it lacked some development between the sisters and the romance felt too on the surface.

Lexi has just been fired from her job where her ex boyfriend was in fact her boss so when her stepsister invites her home she did not know she was going to have to spend time with her enemy Heath Bowman. These two have an on/off again history and this story ends up being a journey of grief and acceptance.

I was just. bored honestly and had a hard time following the history of the two stepsisters. It may have been me having so many distractions around me. But unfortunately I just couldn't finish it.

This is a wonderful story about love, family, healing, friendship and misunderstandings. Like all Jill Shalvis novels, there is humor (and a dog) mixed into it all. I'm still laughing over the motorcycle club scene.

The characters are so well written. By the time you finish reading, you will feel like they are all friends you have known for years and all of them are good people with their heart in the right place (even if it is a bit guarded at first). The character development over the course of the book is one of the reasons I always love Jill's books.

Lexi and Heath make a beautiful couple with so many touching moments. You will love your adventure into their world in this book.

THE LOVE FIX is the 8th book in the Jill Shalvis' Sunrise Cove series, but it can definitely be read as a stand-alone.

Lexi is called home to Sunrise Cove from NYC, where she is a (recently-fired) antiques appraiser to help fulfill her estranged late mother's last wish--that she and her step-sister Ashley hand-deliver 6 envelopes to beneficiaries of her mother's will. Helping with this task is Heath, Lexi's childhood crush.

I enjoyed how each task helped repair Lexi and Ashley's relationship and bring Heath and Lexi closer together. Shalvis knows how to write a sweet, feel-good story, and THE LOVE FIX definitely doesn't disappoint.

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for an eARC. Opinions are my own.

I really wanted to love this book. But unfortunately i didn’t. I loved being back in the cove but there was something missing between Lexi and Heath; it felt a bit forced

This enemies-to-lovers road trip romance delivers unexpected emotional depth. Lexi returns home to fulfill her gambling-addicted mother’s final wishes, forced to travel cross-country with childhood nemesis Heath and optimistic half-sister Ashley.

Shalvis skillfully tackles heavy themes like family dysfunction, addiction, and forgiveness without losing the romance’s heart. Lexi’s complicated grief felt authentic, while Heath proves to be the perfect patient-yet-strong romantic lead. Their banter is sharp and the chemistry genuine.

The road trip structure works beautifully, with each stop teaching lessons about family and second chances. Some moments had me laughing, others reaching for tissues. Minor pacing issues in the middle prevent this from being five stars, but it’s still a standout contemporary romance.

Shalvis creates characters who feel like real people you’d want to spend time with. Highly recommended.

Shalvis makes a habit out of pulling on my heartstrings while making me chuckle out loud and I dearly love her for bringing all the feels time and time again! If you've read any of the Sunrise Cove series, you know it's a laid back, friendly area where people seem to be drawn to in order to heal and find their forever love. The characters from book to book are not interconnected, but the warmth of the town, the heart of the scenery and the depth of the emotional relaxation is always at the forefront of every story. This particular book had loss and healing with so much underlying tension and mixed emotion to purge through. The characters hooked me quickly and the journey they set out on kept me turning page after page to see what was going to happen next. There was a strong backstory that explained where they each were coming from and really good development of the characters, the family in general and the emotion that their journey was bringing to each. I loved every minute and highly recommend to all.

The Love Fix is the eighth book in Jill Shalvis's Sunrise Cove series. It was another great addition to the series.

A year after the passing of her estranged mother, Lexi Clark returns home to Sunrise Cove after her step-sister Ashley pleas with her to come. It's the last place she wants to be, as she knows there are things from her past she needs to face, and her life isn't exactly going swimmingly at the moment given she's having issues at work.

Lexi learns that she and Ashley have been tasked with hand delivering six letters that their late mother left for people to make amends. That means she's going to have to stay in town for much longer than she expected and she's going to have to face Heath Bowman, who is her childhood nemesis turned crush. Will Lexi and Heath finally get on the same page about one another? Or will a connection elude them?

I really enjoyed seeing how the relationship between Lexi and Ashley evolved over the course of the story. They came so far and add in the banter that ensued between Lexi and Heath, it was very entertaining. I felt like this was a bit of a different way for Jill Shalvis to tell a story, but it was so enjoyable!

I received this ARC courtesy of Avon and Harper Voyager publishing! So grateful for the opportunity to review this book!

Release Date: June 24, 2025
Genre: Romance, Fiction
Format: E-Book
Rating: 3.5 ⭐️

The story had such a strong emotional core. Lexi’s journey felt raw and real, especially her struggle with trust and resentment toward her mom. It was very obvious that she spent most of her life in survival mode, carrying alot of anger. It was really sad tbh. The best part: watching Lexi slowly open up to both Ashley & Heath. I just love a good frenemies-to-lovers romance! Heath’s chaotic but loving family completely stole my heart (the closet scene with Cole and Misty had me cracking up!). The romance was sweet and hard-earned, and the message of redemption through those letters really hit. That said, the writing itself was flat and lacked spark, which took away from an otherwise beautiful story. That was a big deal for me & majority of the reason for my rating. This story is capable of steal the hearts of many, but the writing 😣
Despite the prose, the plot and heart behind it made it a worthwhile..a hopeful read for the romantic in me.

The Love Fix is such a good story. Lexi was accused of something she didn't do and then her sister asked her to come home to honor their mother's wishes. Lots of secrets that kept coming out little by little. Lexi didn't trust many people and she struggled being home with her sister. who was very bubbly but only told half of most stories. She had a good reason, but still. Added to that is Heath - a boy she knew when she was 10 and who she was instantly attracted to, but due to betrayals of several people had trouble acting on it. All their relationship - Ashley (her sister), Heath and herself kept going round in circles because they all needed to talk to each other and open up more.
The characters in the story were great, including Gramps and then Heath's brother, Cole, who loved to tease him and give him a hard time. The story flowed very easily and it kept me entertained the whole way through.

I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review

I requested and got accepted for this ARC without reading the others in the series and knowing there were more ahead of it. So I read this as a stand-alone.

With that being said this was a fine story with, one bed / forced proximity, small town, slow burn and more. Personally, some of my favorite tropes. Missing on the previous books meant I probably missed out on some cameos from previous books in the series. I was okay with that.

I think if you’re a fan of the author / series you will truly enjoy this book, it just wasn’t for me.

I liked but but did not love it. This was my first book by this author and it started off really promising, however it lacked a bit for me. I have not read the rest of this series so I’m not sure if that has any significant impact on my lower rating.. but i did hear they can be read as stand alone..
after their mom dies, two sisters (step) are asked to meet up and hand deliver letters written by their mom to different people who have impacted her life. In doing so they are able to heal from their family trauma, develop a relationship with each other, and even find love. I thought heath and Lexie didn’t have enough to their story. It was kind of hard to connect with the characters. I found myself starting to skim through parts bc i ended up getting a little bored at times.
Overall a good book though!

The Love Fix by Jill Shalvis

Rating: 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to Avon, Harper Voyager, Netgalley, and the author for access to this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

The Love Fix is an emotional, heartwarming, and uplifting read that’ll leave you with all the feels. The Love Fix is the eighth book in the Sunrise Cove series, however it can definitely be read on its own. Some of the biggest themes include forgiveness, love, growth, and found family.

After the death of her mother, Lexi has to return to a place she didn’t have good memories from in order execute the will with her stepsister, Ashley. The two of them had starkly different experiences with their mother and Lexi isn't ready to forgive for her difficult childhood. Heath is assisting them on the task assigned to them in the will. He is another aspect of her past that Lexi also doesn’t want to face. He is now the lawyer handling the execution of the will.

This is an emotional read, while still remaining hopeful and optimistic. It’s about dealing with past hurts and struggles, discovering oneself, and forgiveness. The characters are well written and it was great to see the growth between the sisters. Overall, a wonderful addition to this fantastic series!

Lexi is home to help her stepsister clean out their mother's things a year after passing. However, once she gets there she finds out her sister kept a secret about their mother's will from her, and things are a bit more complicated than she was told. She is also surprised to fun into her former frenemy from her childhood, who is now all grown up and back in town acting as the executer on her mother's estate. Can the three of them find a way to move through the hurts of the past to a new future together?

Lexi and Heath turn from childhood competitors to frenemies to more. They both had pretty screwed up childhoods. But there were those that kept them going. Lexi coming back to Sunrise Cove resolved and cemented her relationship with her (step-)sister and helped straighten out her past baggage with her mother. Heath was amazing!

This is the 8th book in the Sunrise Cove series but it can easily be read as a standalone novel. The Love Fix is an enemies to lovers romance with family, found family and forgiveness themes. It’s a quick read and just right when looking for something light and breezy to read between heavier themed books.

The next story in the Sunrise Cove series is a heartwarming story of acceptance, forgiveness and love.

The last thing Lexi Clark wants is to return to Sunrise Cove. But with her life falling apart she returns and will face painful memories left behind: her stepsister Ashley and her childhood crush, Heath Bowman..

Can fences be mended and love bloom?

It’s been awhile since I’ve read a Jill Shalvis book and I really should read them more often. They are the perfect mix of humor, love and spicy. These characters are delightful! Lexi, Heath and Ashley (who might be my favorite). The relationship between all three is such a classic mix. Ashley makes me wish I had a sister. The character’s insecurities are such relatable ones that it makes me love them even more. 10/10 fully enjoyed this ARC!
