Sisters and a second chance romance - you can always count on Jill Shalvis!

After her estranged mother’s death, Lexi finds herself back home in Sunrise Cove. The last thing she expects is a road trip with her old crush, but thanks to a series of final wishes from her mom, that’s exactly what she ends up doing.

I loved the relationship between Lexi and Ashley, stepsisters who didn’t grow up together but form a bond as adults. They grow together despite not seeming to have much in common on the surface. And I always love a good road trip trope, with its forced proximity and unpredictable events.

Lexis life is falling apart when she is fired from her job and unjustly accused of stealing from her clients, while at the same time dumped by her boss/boyfriend. Shortly afterwards her half sister Ashley calls her home to help her deal with the estate of her mother Daisy, something she really doesn't want to do. So.... Lexi goes home, deals with lots of demons from her past as well as her old childhood nemesis/neighbor Heath.

This is, of course not an unusual trope in romance, but the author did a great job making me love watching these half sisters break down each others walls and open up years of miscommunication. The love story is sweet as well, with both Lexi and Heath having closed off hearts to open and issues to resolve. Heath has a family, especially a grandfather that is totally delightful and the whole story is a sweet romance. I have not read the other books in the series so I did not feel like I missed anything by reading it as a stand alone. Thank you to net galley and Avon for the e galley copy of this book.

It's family conflict and and loss with just the right amount of romance. You will enjoy it from the first chapter to the last! She knows how to keep heavy topics light.

This was a charming romance filled with relatable characters. The chemistry between the characters feels authentic. While some parts are predictable, the emotional moments still resonate. Overall, it’s a feel-good, romance book.

Thanks to NetGalley for the arc.

The Love Fix by Jill Shalvis brings us back to Sunrise Cove where we meet Lexi Clark, who is summoned back hometown, albeit reluctantly. There, she is forced to rekindle relationships that she has no interest in, specifically Heath. One thing I wish is that I had read the enitre series before this book, as I felt like I was missing some of the angst between the characters which I might have had a better appreciation for if I was more familiar with the quaint little town we were emersed in. Overall, good story, fast read.

Another adventure in Sunrise Cove and beautiful Lake Tahoe.

Lexie Clark was enjoying her life, until she was fired from her job as an art appraiser, got dumped by her boyfriend, and was now on a death defying flight to her step-sister Ashley in Sunrise Cove. She really wanted to skip this trip, but Ashley begged, so here she was. But not only did Ashley come to pick her up, so did her childhood nemesis Heath Bowman. Unfortunately, he was a crush that never went away.

Lexie and Ashley’s mother passed away a year ago and left a special provision in her will to be opened a year after her death. Daisy was a habitual gambler, a hoarder, and constantly borrowed but never paid back.
Lexie was shocked when she found out Daisy won the lottery just before she died. She had divided her winnings into six envelopes to be delivered to special people, once a week, only in person. Lexie, Ashley and Heath were stymied by this scenario, but reluctantly agreed. The adventure begins.

I laughed, shed a few tears and enjoyed the banter, snarking and eventual love talk between Lexie and Heath. It’s always a pleasure to read stories by Jill Shalvis, starting on the first page your emotions are captured.
If you like family, laughter and romance grab this book by Jill Shalvis

This was really good.
Lexi is coming home after the death of a mother that was never there for her as a child. She has been fired from her job because she put her trust in the wrong person and vowing to not do that again. She is trying not to be jealous of the relationship that Ashley, her step sister, did have with Daisy, her mom, and having a hard time. Then there is Heath.

This book had a few twists I didn't see coming, but still really good
Thank you Netgalley and the author for the advanced copy

Jill Shalvis has done it again! Another great book. Its about family, trust, and love. Every family has its issues and Ashley and Lexi have to learn how to navigate their way back to being sisters. Lexi also has to learn how to love and let go. Its a great read. I read it in two days.

Lexi comes home after her mom, Daisy, has been gone a year now. Her stepsister, Ashley, has a task that Daisy wanted completed. The two girls have to hand envelopes to several people of Daisy's choosing, but they have to do it together. Ashley and Heath are pretty much best friends. Heath lives in the neighborhood with his grandfather and takes care of him. Lexi and Heath have a bit of a past which makes this situation all that more intriguing. Ashley had a much different relationship with Daisy than Lexi did. So much good conflict in this story. I love the complicated web that Jill Shalvis weaves in her newest book.

There wasn't anything I didn't love about this book. Heath could be my new favorite Shalvis hero. This guy is sexy and smart. He's like a hot lawyer turned blue collar guy. He's kind, generous and oh so patient with Lexi. He also has his own stuff he's dealing with. Ashley is kind and innocent and wants so desperately to rebuild her relationship with Lexi. Lexi is a very broke, very complicated person with trust issues. Coming back has forced her to deal with the past and all the things she's learning about her mother while delivering the letters. This book is funny, but also deep and emotional at times. This book grabbed me from start to finish. Another great book from Jill Shalvis!

Lexi is asked to come back to her hometown to help her step-sister go through her mother's belongings after she passes away. Her and her sister are also asked to deliver a series of envelopes to people from her mom's troubled past. As soon as Lexi arrives in town, she meets her high school crush/neighbor who happens to live next door to her sister still. Will they have their happily ever after or will old issues get in their way? Will Ashley and Lexi mend their childhood issues? Youll have to read to find out!

I thought it was a super cute premise, but it lacked excitement for me and took me over a month to read. This is the first book I've read by this author, and I think her fans will definitely like it!

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the chance to read this book ahead of publication!

I want to move to Sunrise Cove. I loved Lexi, Heath, and Ashley. Jill Shalvis is the queen of writing family. I don’t want to give anything away so all I will say is you’ll love the journey these three take together. You’ll laugh, cry and root for everyone. This is a feel good novel with lots of lessons of love, family and forgiveness.

I wasn't expecting this book to be a love story between a man and a woman, and a woman and her sister. And before you go thinking of a love triangle, it's not that kind of book.

Lexi and Heath knew each other as kids. Then Lexi moved away. Now she's back, to reconcile with her sister, Ashley, and that's a totally different love story but honestly, the better of the two, in my opinion.

Adult relationships are hard. Romantic, familial, friendships, etc., they're all hard. But man, they're so worth it.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I couldn't put this one down. It made me laugh, and it made me cry. It's a story about family and the mistakes we all make. Parents aren't perfect, though most do the best they can. This book points that out fantastically. It's a book about learning to love, be loved, and forgive. If you're looking for an easy, interesting read, then this one is it.

You can't escape your past by running away from it. At least, not in fiction!

After the death of her mother, Lexi has to return to a place with less than fond memories to execute the will with her stepsister Ashley. The two of them had very different experiences with their mother, and Lexi isn't ready to forgive the dark childhood she had. Assisting them on the unusual task assigned to them in the will is Heath, another piece of her past Lexi isn't eager to face, who is now the lawyer handling the execution of the will. Over a six-week period Lexi is stuck in Sunrise Cove, for better or for worse.

This is my second Jill Shalvis book, and I'm starting to get a good feel for her style. Her characters are deep and complex with pasts full of hurt that have shaped their current motivations. I thought Lexi, Heath, and even Ashley were very well developed and believable. Their problems and understanding of each other make sense and unfold in sensible ways.

The chemistry between Heath and Lexi was sizzling, but rooted deeper than just attraction. They knew each other once upon a time and I really enjoyed every bit of information Heath discovers that he was oblivious to when he knew her before, giving him a fuller picture of her past and gives them an excellent base for an eventual relationship.

This is the eighth installment of the Sunrise Cove series. EIGHTH! You know what that means? I get to go back and read a bunch more books knowing that I'm in good hands with an author like Jill Shalvis. She knows how to build a compelling story!

Note:: I received an early copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This book made me cry as a read the story. I lost my mom in Jone of 2024 - the story repeatedly brough memories of my mom's and my relationship with each other. I loved learning about how the step=sister, Ashley, and mom had a great relationship (something Lexi and her mom did not). Lexi herself has secrets she is hiding from the family - very much like her mom had. Lexi and Ashely have lost their mom a year ago - and now they must deliver letter / checks to their mom's friends around the West coast with the help of Lexi's childhood nemesis Heath. (their mom's lawyer).

The two sisters learn more about themselves and their late mom. Lexi learns that her mom sought out treatment for her gambling addiction / and was making strides towards healing - her last bout of gambling made her a millionaire. Through their journey the two sisters' bound becomes stronger.

I wish my stepsisters and I were closer after the death of our parents - like the characters in this story. .
