Lexi and her estranged stepsister Ashley embark on a journey to fulfill their deceased mom’s final wishes. In the process, the sisters reconnect, and Lexi falls for Heath, the executor of her mom’s will. Humorous yet emotional, this book will appeal to fans of Netflix’s “The Life List.”
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jill Shavis is an institution for a reason. Her books are so reliable — you get a little love and a cute small town. All of the side characters build out a well-rounded and very sweet little found family community. This felt like a hallmark movie in a book — it was sweet without too much depth. My one complaint was there’s a lot more “tell” than “show” in terms of how the characters interact and feelings develop. But for a quick beach read, sometimes that works.

t's been some time since Lexi Clark had come back to Sunrise Cove. She didn't really want to be there now, but she came reluctantly. But her step sister, Ashley, asked to come back to help fulfill their mother's last wishes. According to Ashley, their mother left a series of envelopes the sisters were to deliver to people who mother felt she had wronged, an apology for actions she had taken. Even worse, she's forced to work with their mother's executor, Heath, her one time nemesis, and the crush who broke her heart.
This story has a bit of everything. As second chance romance, family drama, that small town vibe. Lexi has been disappointed by everyone in her life. As a result, she keeps herself separate, never letting anyone in. But Ashley and Heath are patient and persistent. Try as she might, Lexi slowly succumbs to Heath's charm, to Ashley's sunny personality.
I've enjoyed each of the Sunrise Cove stories. This is a sweet, ultimately emotional story of coming home and finding yourself.

Upon completion of Jill Shalvis's last Sunrise Cove novel, I went back and read her entire Wildstone series. So I was eager to get back to Sunrise Cove for another entry of summery goodness. Sad to say, I feel like the visit wasn't as memorable as previous trips. Don't get me wrong, the writing is still strong, and Shalvis knows all the correct beats to hit, but I think maybe I just had too much of a good thing. These characters and this storyline didn't grab me as much as previous ones did. It felt familiar, but so much so that I doubt I'll remember much in a few week's time. I don't feel like it's Shalvis's fault. I think this one was more on me. Too much of a good thing. Even chocolate gets a little boring after eating it repeatedly. Either way, I'll still happily come back to visit next time she decides to.

Lexi comes back to,fulfill her mother’s dying wish to deliver letters with her half sister. They learn about each other and their mother. ARC from NetGalley.

A wonderful story to wrap up this series. Friends to lovers; hopeful, adventurous, and full of insight. Lexi thinks coming home will be disastrous and Heath hopes to prove her wrong. Read along as Lexi and Heath discover they still have feelings for each and heat up Sunrise Cove in the process.

The Love Fix by Jill Shalvis is the eigth book in the Sunrise Cove series but can absolutely be read as a standalone.
Lexi is going through a tough time with work and in her personal life. Her mother passed away last year and now Lexi is asked to return to her hometown of Sunrise Cove to honor her mother's last wishes. She and her stepsister Ashley are tasked with delivering letters that will repay their mothers debts and make amends with people in her past. Any money left over after delivering the letters can be split between the girls. Lexi's lifelong friend (and former crush) Heath is the executer of the will and is tasked with helping the girls out. Heath is also dealing with his grandfather and helping out a variety of townspeople with legal and physical work. We follow along as these three navigate dealing with the past, uncovering family secrets, learning to trust each other, and becoming a family.
While I enjoy the found family and friends to lovers themes and the fact that this is a feel-good, clean romance, I also found that the storyline was a little slow for me and a tad repetitive. While I personally think this story lacked depth, it was an easy and heartwarming read that many readers will enjoy.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Lexi was struggling in life. She was humiliated at work and in her relationship, and she was going to the one place she never thought she would, home. She is conflicted for a myriad of reasons, but she does want to try and be a better sister. I had a hard time getting into this book, because I felt it took too long to learn why Lexi treated her sister and Heath as horribly as she did. Once the reasons started to be revealed, I felt for her.
As much as this is a book about Lexi learning who she is, it is also about forgiveness and being there for people. Heath really was a sweet, caring man who had a sad backstory as well. Even with the many times she tried to push him away, he was still there for Lexi.
I ended up liking this book and wishing there was more to their story. I also wanted more about her sister. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

I love this series! Jill Shalvis contemporary romances never disappoint. You do not have to read this series in order. Sometimes old characters make appearances.
Sunrise Cove is a town on Lake Tahoe. It’s beautiful, but still has the small town vibes people want to escape.
Lexi Clarke gets a call from her stepsister that her mother left instructions in her Will to deliver 6 envelopes to people that she wanted to either make amends with or show appreciation. The instructions were that Lexi and Ashley had to do it together with their neighbor Heath’s help. Lexi had an estranged relationship with her mother because her father moved her across the country after their divorce and her mother quickly fell into a new family. Her mother also had a gambling addiction that she put first. Lexi was recently laid off from her job and decided to go home to see what the Will instructed. She wasn’t going it for her mother, but would for Ashley. Even though they weren’t blood she was her only family. In the meantime she started to reconnect with her old crush and frienemy Heath. A lot of answers come her way over the next six weeks.

This was a super cute and easy read! The Love Fix had sweet moments and fun characters. Just a nice, feel-good story.

Heartfelt story between deseased mother and two daughters fulfilling her last wishes. Side characters help to break the tension and add some needed comedic relief to a emotionally tense plot. A chance for Lexi and Ashley to become closer and for Lexi to open up and connect with other people. Heath and Lexi were rivals since meeting in the second grade always trying to one up the other. They had great chemistry and fun banter.

I enjoyed this! It had so much emotional depth, very relatable parts and flowed really well.
Thank you for Netgalley for the ARC!

Jill Shalvis is one of the true queens of women's fiction and in this reader's opinion, she always will be. This is another one of her 'hook you in and doesn't let go' novels and you will love it ,as you have her previous books.

This is the eighth book in the Sunrise Cove series, but the first for me. It’s possible my reaction would be different if I read the earlier books, but since this is marketed as interconnected I thought I would be fine jumping right in. I wasn’t. I never felt a connection with the characters which might be different if I read the earlier books.
I gravitate toward sister drama and this one was unique. Lexi and Ashley are actually stepsisters connected through Lexi’s recently deceased biological mom. Its Lexi who was estranged from her mom while Ashley was raised by her. When the sisters are tasked with fulfilling their mom’s final wish, it requires them to embark on a road trip.
Further complicating things is Heath; the executor of the will, Ashley’s friend, and Lexi’s childhood crush. When he tags along on the journey things get messy.
Lexi has a lot of feelings to unpack. Her relationship with her mom was complicated with many unresolved traumas. Her feeling for Heath are equally confusing. During the course of their adventure, Lexi learns a lot about herself and the assumptions she made over the years.
I wish I loved this more as it has many of the elements that make a story compelling for me. I found much of the conflict could have been resolved with simple communication which is always a sticking point for me. Others may find this to be a more engaging read, especially those who are already invested in the series.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the advance copy. All opinions are my own.

Good story of family, forgiveness, and both romantic and familial love. Lexi left Sunrise Cove years ago when her parents divorced and her father got custody of her. Though her mom was a gambling addict and a neglectful parent, Lexi's father wasn't much better. Her stepsister, Ashley, remained with their mother, Daisy. A year after Daisy's passing, Lexi returns to Sunrise Cove to assist Ashley in carrying out Daisy's last wishes.
I enjoyed watching the interactions between the characters. Lexi immediately has to face Ashley, the sister who stayed with their mother and had an entirely different relationship with Daisy. She also comes face-to-face with the executor of Daisy's will, Heath. Heath was her childhood rival and later crush, with whom she had a complicated past. They must work together to fulfill their mission.
A significant portion of the book focused on the relationship between Lexi and Ashley. Lexi is closed off, reluctant to trust anyone, and haunted by the memories stirred up by her return. Ashley is relentlessly cheerful and full of life. She has missed Lexi and is determined to repair their relationship. There are some heartbreaking scenes between them as they reconcile their differing memories of their mother. I liked seeing Ashley work her way past Lexi's walls and show her what sisters can mean to each other. It isn't an easy process, and there are bumps in the road to reconciliation. I loved seeing Lexi begin to open herself up to the possibilities.
I enjoyed seeing Lexi and Heath's relationship develop. The sparks are there from the start, but memories of past encounters keep Lexi from believing in them. Heath has emotional baggage of his own, but those memories make him especially sensitive to her fears. I loved how he respected her feelings and gave her the space to process the things she discovered. Some mixed signals occasionally get in the way of progress, but that doesn't go on for too long. I couldn't help rooting for them to find their way.
Besides facing her past, Lexi is also at a professional crossroads. I ached for her and the events that had preceded her return to Sunrise Cove, and I understood her devastation at what had happened. I loved seeing her find new purpose in Sunrise Cove. I liked the twist at the end and cheered for the decision she made.
The secondary characters were great. The people who received Daisy's letters gave Lexi a new perspective on her mother. Heath's grandfather was one of my favorites. He has no filter, and it was fun to watch him jerk Heath's chain. I also enjoyed the close relationship between Heath and his brother Cole and Cole's family. His nephew was adorable!

Another lovely read from Ms Shalvis!
The Love Fix takes readers back to Sunrise Cove for another found family/complicated relationship with the past story with likeable, mostly relatable characters who just don't always get along...until they do. They have complicated pasts, which especially for Lexi and Heath, have led them to believe that their future won't include finding someone who will love them for who they are.
Lexi also has to come to terms with the resentment she's always felt toward Ashley, who was raised by Lexi's mom (for the most part after Lexi left to live with her dad) and had a totally different, significantly better relationship with her than Lexi ever did. Even Heath and his little brother Cole had a positive relationship with Lexi's mom, and for a while here none of them can quite understand why Lexi resented her so much and doesn't feel the same sorrow that they all do at her passing. Lexi, used to keeping to herself and internalizing everything, resists letting Heath and Ashley get close even as a part of her she's loathe to acknowledge craves real relationships with them.
See? Complicated.
But of course the task that Daisy (Lexi's mom) has left for them manages to do the near-impossible--bring them together on a real level, a "love fix," if you will. And there'll be a lot of laughter and a few tears along the way before we get to what will presumably be their HEA...ultimately, it was quite satisfying.
My only "complaint," if we can call it that, is that Lexi, Heath, and Ashley and their assorted side characters felt at times like standard issue Jill Shalvis characters. Not really in a bad way, but for the opening couple of chapters I honestly felt like I'd already read about these people...hadn't I? Once we get to the task Daisy left them it became obvious that this was indeed a new book and altogether I really did enjoy their story, but the opening had me feeling all kinds of deja vu for a while there. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing; it was just a little disorienting at first.
As always, each Sunrise Cove story is a complete standalone book which can be read by itself or in any order along with the others. Don't hesitate to pick this one up just because you haven't read any or all of the other seven, because they truly have no connection other than basic geography, nearly unparalleled levels of snark, and a totally normal or completely unhinged fear of arachnids, depending on your own personal feelings on the subject.
I vote for totally normal, of course ;)

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Am amazingly done enemies to lovers story of two people who are struggling to trust and feel worthy of each other's love. Due to some difficult upbringing., Lexi and Heath struggle to find their way to a HEA. All the while Lexi is trying hard to develop a healthy relationship with her sister Ashley. Ashley's character brings light and love to those around her. Truly all great characters and funny moments make this story so worthwhile! Jill really knocked it out of the park with this book! Which made it a perfect ending to the Sunrise Cove series. Thank you to Netgalley, Jill Shalvis and the publisher for allowing me to review this arc for my honest review. I hope you love it just as much as I did! Happy reading y'all!

The Love Fix by Jill Shalvis is the 8th book in her wonderful Sunrise Cove series. We meet Lexi Clark, as she recently lost her job, and agrees to help her stepsister, Ashley at Sunrise Cove. Her mother, Daisy passed away a year ago, but Lexi and Ashley learn that Daisy won the lottery, and now they are asked to deliver several envelopes to people that Daisy lent money too in the past. Sunrise Cove holds too many painful memories for Lexi, as her mother was never close to her; as all she ever had with her mother was broken promises.
Heath Bowman is good friends with Ashley, always makes sure she is ok. In the past, Heath and Lexi were private to each other while at school; and the more Lexi gets to know Heath, as well as Ashley, she knows why she always felt guarded being hurt (because of Daisy.)
Heath tries to help both Lexi and Ashley, as they had to deliver 6 envelopes to those issued by Daisy. Heath feels like Daisy was there for him and his brother when they were young. Heath spends most of this time watching over his grandfather, as well as his brother and family. Heath secretly had a crush on Lexi in their teenage years, and now he finds the chemistry between them becoming sizzling, but he is hesitant to start, since Lexi plans to leave after 6 weeks.
In a short time, Ashley and Lexi begin to forge bonds between them; as Lexi feels her heart is slowly crumbling. Ashley is more outgoing than Lexi and longs for them to be closer, emotionally & physically. Ashley is also determined to push Heath and Lexi together. I really loved how Ashley and Lexi became so close to each other. The ensuing road trips to carry out these wishes reveal a mother Lexi never knew. Their journeys met with surprises, revelations and experiences they did not expect.
The Love Fix was a sweet, wonderful heartwarming story with forgiveness, healing, finding yourself and letting go. I loved how Heath and Lexi found themselves, and love prevails. The Love Fix was so very well written by Jill Shalvis. Another fantastic book by Jill Shalvis, who never fails to give us great stories. I suggest you read The Love Fix, as it was a great read.

Another winner from Shalvis! Lexi returns to Sunrise Cove to help her sister deliver letters her late mother requested they do. She has always felt abandoned by her mother, but loves her sister. Heath is her childhood friend she was always competitive with, but is awkward around now because she kissed him once and it didn’t end well. Heath is a former attorney helping them with the letters.
Great romance and chemistry between Lexi and Heath. Heath’s family are crazy characters that add even more life to this story. Overall, a poignant story about family and overcoming your childhood. My only wish would have been an epilogue to see how everyone is doing down the road!
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you @jillshalvis & @avonbooks for my #gifted copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
Okay, I’m obsessed. Like, truly-can’t-stop-thinking-about-it level obsessed. I don’t say this lightly because I’m a sucker for anything Jill Shalvis writes—but The Love Fix might just be her best yet. From the very first line (which had me actually laughing out loud), I knew this one was going to be something special.
This book is the perfect mix of heart and humor. The heartwarming, funny moments were perfectly balanced with deeper themes of family trauma, grief, and healing. Normally when there’s a strong romance and a complicated family plot, I tend to latch onto one more than the other... but not here. I was completely hooked from beginning to end.
Lexi and Heath are both carrying so much pain from their pasts—parents who failed them in the worst ways. And while this could’ve easily turned into trauma bonding, Shalvis does something really special: she gives us two characters who learn how to heal separately and together. Heath was such a great MMC - he was strong and steady when needed, but also let his walls down around Lexi. I loved his dynamic with his grandfather and his brother. He understood Lexi in a way no one else could and gave her the grace to work through her emotions how she needed to.
Lexi was such a stubbornly independent woman - born out of trauma and survival instincts - so watching her learn to let people in for the first time was beautiful. Her dynamic with her step-sister, Ashley, added so much heart to the plot. Ashley’s sunny, golden-retriever energy was the perfect juxtaposition to Lexi’s guarded strength. Her love for Lexi is almost smothering but also needed to help Lexi accept that people can love her. Their different experiences with their mom created such conflict but also forced them to deal with their grief over her passing. Their messy healing journey had me tearing up more than once.
I absolutely loved every character in this book and the storyline was top tier. I literally couldn’t recommend this book more if I tried. Forever a huge fan of Jill Shalvis!
