Full. On. Sobbing. Y'all, I can't. This one stabbed me in the heart, dug out the stupid organ, stomped it (lovingly), and then stitched it right back into my chest. I see so much of myself in Lexi, that hyper-independence. And in Ashley, who smiles through her pain. And in Heath, who thinks he has to be useful to everyone all the time. This story was so beautiful, and there was such heartache and pain, but also moments of joy and goodness and learning how to be there for each other and for yourself. I loved it. So much.

A story of how your childhood can affect you into adulthood…..so much contained in this novel, I couldn’t put it down. Lexi comes back to her childhood, memories and relationships. Having guarded her heart and now going through major issues with her job, the journey she is on brings to light more than she bargained for when she planned a one week trip that became extended based on a request and a plan. The Love Fix is an emotional journey of love and loss and realization. Five stars for a most excellent novel….keep your tissues handy!!!

Lexi Clark’s life is falling apart and when she is summoned home to deal with family matters it is the last thing she wants to do. Facing her stepsister and childhood nemesis is not what she needs but she wants to honor her mother’s last wishes. When her feelings start to change can she finally let go of the hurt from the past and let happiness and love in.

This was such a good book. I loved the story and the writing so much. The characters were great and the story flowed smoothly. Will definitely read more books by this author in the future.

Heath and Lexi reconnect as they can both have empathy as to how it feels like as a child to be unwanted and abandoned. Both grew up in an environment that they had to protect themselves as they were always second best to their parents that were meant to love them unconditionally. That is why Lexi is emotionally stunted as she doesn't want to let others in due to the fact that they could also leave her. She doesn't see herself like those such as Ashley and Heath do. It must be hard as they pass out the envelopes according to their mother's wishes how she cared so deeply others and how she enriched other peoples lives when she essentially gave Lexi away. Heath constantly cared for others as he realized that money didn't matter as much if you didn't have someone to share your life with. They bettered each other as they truly loved each other. It makes the reader believe that their other half is out there if you are willing to find them.

I really enjoyed this book. It was easy to read. I loved the characters and the ending was better than I thought it would be. I'm grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.

I love Jill Shalvis and sunrise cove. These are standalone stories with an interconnected place and people. Think Green Valley for the Penny Reid fandom. The love fix had an interesting plot. Maybe not my favorite so far of the sunrise cove but worth the read!

I really wanted to love this book, so let’s start with the things I liked; I liked the frenemies trope, I liked the family aspect of the book, and the healing that happened between Lexi and Ashley. I think what I struggled with most as a reader is connecting with Lexi as a FMC. I felt as though she was really, really stuck in this cycle of self-pity. I also struggled to continue on through the book a bit because I didn’t feel that tension between Lexi and Heath at all. I wasn’t aware this was an eighth book in a “series” where the characters are interconnected, so maybe I would’ve felt differently with some context. Overall, it just missed the mark for me. The Love Fix was my first book by Jill Shalvis! I did not realize that this was an 8 book series of interconnected stand-alones. I’ve seen so many people raving about her books, talking about how charming and full of heart they are. But I have to say, this book fell a little bit flat for me.

I love a good enemies to lovers books, and Jill Shalvis certainly delivered. I found myself rooting for Lexi and Heath. It was clear that they had a deep history, and their witty banter helped build their chemistry throughout the book.

I wanted Ashley and Heath to have more empathy towards Lexi and the loss of her mother. While the premise of the book and the letters they must deliver in order to receive their inheritance was interesting, I didn’t find myself feeling particularly connected to any of the characters. I felt as though Lexi’s grief was often glossed over and thought the author could’ve expanded on how she was feeling to add more dimension to her character.

While this book wasn’t a five star read for me, I am open to trying more of Jill’s books in the future.

As they go through this process, with the help of Heath, her longtime friend, she learns so much more about her mom Daisy. Daisy had a gambling problem and was never there for Lexi. But the reasons why are so different than she thought. Life is hard and messy sometimes, but as Lexi learns, there are hidden joys if you look. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from Nelnet, and this is my honest review. Jill Shalvis never disappoints!

I was thrilled to receive an ARC of *The Love Fix* by Jill Shalvis, one of my favorite romance authors in my 20s. Shalvis has always been my go-to for heartwarming stories, and I was excited to dive into something fresh from her, releasing in 2025.

This novel blends some of my favorite tropes—enemies to lovers, found family, reconnection, and forgiveness—all wrapped up in a beautifully told story.

At its heart is Lexi, a relatable and resilient protagonist who, after being fired, returns to her hometown to fulfill her late mother’s final wish. The journey is packed with emotion, humor, and plenty of swoon-worthy romance. The male lead is especially well-developed, adding depth and charm to the love story.

If you enjoy heartfelt romances with themes of healing and second chances, I highly recommend *The Love Fix*. Shalvis proves once again why she’s a master of the genre.

With this book the author seems to have fully moved into women's fiction. Its fine but not my preferred genre. The romance is now closed door and it's a but too angsty for my liking. Its also weird how several of her last releases are all in this small town but no one from previous series ever show up.

It was a story filled with powerful emotions but not driven by overwhelming sadness, so you come away from this book with a feeling of joy and possibility. This is a book I will read again and again. I absolutely adored this book! Heath was a wonderful male character. I think the thing that was the most refreshing was how realistic he was. Especially when it came to the relationship with Lexi. Which leads me into Lexi she was a complex character. At times I was frustrated with her but again I was able to put myself in her position. I think this book can help all of us heal in a way. We have all been let down at some point wether that was from a parent or someone else. It, can help us to heal. Jill also touched on abuse that both main characters endured, and again I think this just added to the story. This book made me laugh and cry and I think I will re read this again.

A second chance enemiy to lovers contemporary piece. It was really good, i read through it pretty quick. Overall it was a easy read!

Lexi's life hasn't always been easy. After recently being fired from her job, she returns home at her stepsisters, Ashley's, request, to honor her moms final wish, make amends by delivering letters to the people she had wronged. A mom, Lexi had no contact with and didn't really know. Returning home to Sunrise Cove also means Lexi will see her childhood nemesis-crush, Heath.

Heath spends his time taking care of his grandpa, like Lexi, Heath's also been hurt by family members but in a different way. They each have been hurt by individuals therefore tend to keep people at arms length. With the encouragement and help from Health, Lexi continues on delivery the letters with her stepsister, Ashley. Along this journey Lexi slowly starts to tear down the wall built around her heart and realizes that she has people who love her and will never leave her. Will the trust issues they have stand in the way of the chemistry that is brewing between them, will Heath be able to let Lexi go once she finishes her tasks?

Thoroughly enjoyable heart warming, emotional book and got some good laughs from the grandpa, Gus!

This is a charming book with lots of banter and humor. Lexi returns to Sunrise Cove a year after her Mom passed away. Lexi and her step sister, Ashley, work together to carry out her Mom’s final wishes. Add in Heath who lives behind them with his grandfather and the sparks return. Ashley and Heath work on Lexi’s abandonment issues from when she left Sunrise Cove with her father as her Mom did not want her to stay. This story takes you on the journey of Lexi and Ashley rebonding and Lexi and Heath deciding whether to put their hearts at risk.

Again so enjoyed Lexi, Ashley, Heath, Mayhem the dog and the entire cast. I didn’t want this story to end.

I always love a Jill Shalvis book!!’ She just knows how to pull all the heartstrings and get you completely sucked into a great story. It was darling! I fell in love with the characters! Adored the story
