Another Sunrise Cove book from Jill Shalvis. It's another winner. Love the setting, love the small town characters. The enemies to lovers story can be pretty unbelievable in some books, but this author knows how to write it so the reader believes it. Highly recommend this series and this author.

Lexi is heading home following her mother’s death. She didn’t have a great relationship with her mother but she wants to support her sister in any way she can. Heath has always been a part of Lexi’s family. He’s also the man she likes as more than a friend but she doesn’t think there can be anything between them. Will this trip home change her trajectory?
Lexi is an art appraiser but her career is in freefall. She and her mother had a bad relationship when Lexi was growing up. Lexi is forced to confront the fact that her mother changed as she got older but Lexi never returned home to see the difference. I give the author credit for having Lexi own her anger and resentment. Heath gave up being a high powered attorney to do handyman jobs and help out the people around town. He likes being a part of the community. He had a rough childhood and considered Lexi’s mom to be one of the best things to ever happen to him. She made sure he was fed and cared for. The story is a journey of forgiveness and finding your home.
This story takes place in Sunrise Cove, a small town. This story is a second chance, friends to lover, already part of the family romance. Both of the main characters are adults that have had demanding careers but are now going down new roads to forge the future. My one problem with this story is that it is totally forgettable. I generally like this author but this story just didn’t work for me. I will probably read more from this author in the future.

“Lexi had a black belt in avoidance, especially when it came to feelings.”
Jill Shalvis, queen of snark and swoon, delivers The Love Fix—a cozy, heart-tugging, laugh-out-loud romance that proves healing isn’t linear, forgiveness is messy, and love might just sneak up on you… especially when your childhood crush lives next door.
Lexi Clark is a hot mess express: jobless, newly single, and summoned back to Sunrise Cove by her stepsister. Her plan? Help out, survive awkward family vibes, and escape. But her late mother’s will has other ideas—six envelopes, six weeks, and one too-handsome-for-his-own-good neighbor named Heath Bowman.
🔥 What stood out:
• Enemies-to-lovers vibes that simmer until they snap.
• Sisterhood drama with real emotional grit—Lexi & Ashley are chaotic but lovable.
• Emotional baggage? Check. But so is growth.
• Banter so good I wanted to highlight every line.
• Gus the grumpy grandpa = 10/10 comic relief.
• Found family that hugs your heart and never lets go.
• Therapy in the form of dogs, donuts, and sarcasm.
📚 Overall Vibe:
🏡 Small-town second chances
💞 Slow-burn romance with real heart
👯♀️ Sisters, secrets, and serious healing
📖 Easy to binge, hard to move on from
💬 Final Thoughts:
Warm, witty, and wildly relatable. If you’re into stories that feel like a rom-com with a soft side of therapy, The Love Fix is your perfect match. Can be read as a standalone—but fair warning, you’ll want the rest of the series too.

A heartwarming, uplifting story brought tears and laughter. A road trip, romance, finding yourself and making amends along the way is the perfect summer read. A really beautiful and inspiring read. I fell in love with all the amazing characters. The book is well written as are all Jill Shalvis books and I love her sense of humor and descriptive scenes. It was such a joy to read. I loved every page of this fabulous book with funny moments, tender awareness and witty dialog.

Jill Shalvis never disappoints! The series this author puts out are always so good and I look forward to every single book. The characters are likeable, the storyline is well developed, and it is all wrapped up with a good romance that is not too over the top. Whenever I need a good, easy read, I know I can rely on Jill Shalvis to come through!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this excellent novel. I really enjoyed the voice in this one and was drawn in quickly.

🥵 Spicy chapters: 19 (not very graphic)
📚 Tropes/Themes: second chance, it's always been you, childhood crush, friends to lovers, small town, coming home, starting over, enemies to lovers, found family, slow burn, chick lit
👀 Dual POV 3rd person
💔 Triggers: parental death, gambling addiction, mentions of alcoholism and abusive parents
💬 Well, if I had to choose one word to describe this book I would say healing. This book is definitely more chick lit than romance. I'm not complaining! I really enjoyed it! I just usually think of most books that I'm reading as being romance first and other genres second. But in my defense the title could be a tiny bit misleading... Right? 😅 I guess when all you read is romance, you automatically assume that love only means romantic love and not familial love.
Everybody just has so much trauma LOL. It's amazing just how much our parents can fuck us up 😂 Obviously Lexie is the main one who's struggling to process her past and the broken relationship that she had with her mother, but also with her relationship with her stepsister Ashley. You also get to watch Heath, her high school crush process through his childhood trauma and grief. And then through it all how they find each other.
I was happy to see all the healing. It's very emotional and heartwarming being there to see all three of the main characters process and struggle and come out the other side. The warm fuzzies that I got from this book weren't so much romance related but "finding your peace" related.
That said, I think I would have enjoyed this more if it had been more focused on the romance and not the trauma; I wouldn't say that it was triggering or relatable but it did bring up some uncomfortable feelings about my childhood.
Still an excellent book, though. The characters are richly developed, and there's so much depth to the story. It's very satisfying.

Classic Jill Shalvis - a romance but with a big helping of family drama and unresolved childhood trauma. Everyone needs a lot of therapy! Still managed to be a fun, quick read though. That's Jill Shalvis for you I guess. Always an entertaining way to spend a few hours.

Thank you to NetGalley and to Avon for this arc in exchange for my honest review.
I just have to say - I loved this book so much. This was the first book I read in this series but I will be going back and reading the other 7 as Sunrise Cove is simply magical. I love the sisters; Ash & Lexi and their whole dynamic - I also LOVED Heath and Lexi's story. Their story was sweet, spicy, and just so real... it was a very passionate and believable friends to lovers romance.
The characters truly feel real; and the backstory of this story just touched my heart in so many ways. I also loved the recognition of her coping skills - hyper-independence especially as it really was something I was able to relate with. I love the true heart of this story and can't wait to read more from this author.

I absolutely loved this book! Not only was the romance top notch but the relationship between sisters was heart warming too! I love d the secondary characters as well!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is book 8 of the Sunrise Cove series, but reads as a standalone. I am much more used to this author's romances (they are fantastic!) and not a big fan of women's fiction in general. This one is an exception. It was a great read with some truly heartwarming moments. It features our main female character Lexi coming to terms with her strained relationships with her mom, her childhood nemisis/crush and her stepsister. She is brought home by a term of her late mother's will in regards to the estate's distribution and must work along side the stepsister she barely visits and somewhat resents because of the difference in their upbringing by Lexi's biological mother. Ashley got the mom Lexi wanted because Daisy (mom) had by that time dealt with her gambling, while Ashley has difficulty understanding Lexi's inability to accept that Daisy had loved her even though her addiction didn't let that part of her through. While repairing the sister bond, Lexi must also face her continued feelings for Heath and a personal life that seems bleak at best with the loss of her job and her reputation in the field. This book is engaging, heartwrenching/warming, funny and reaffirming all at once. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it highly.

What a sweet and satisfying end to the Sunrise Cove series! The Love Fix brings us Lexi and Heath’s second chance romance, wrapped in a heartfelt story of forgiveness, healing, and reconnecting with family. Like the other books in the series, this one tackles some heavier themes—addiction, grief, and complicated family dynamics—but it’s all done with Jill Shalvis’s signature warmth and charm.
I loved the emotional journey Lexi and her half-sister Ashley go on as they carry out their mom’s final request: delivering letters of apology after her death. The road trip element added a fun, reflective vibe, and the growing bond between Lexi and Heath felt natural and earned. The banter, emotional depth, and feel-good moments made this a really comforting and engaging read. A lovely finale to a series that’s brought so much heart—and I’m going to miss Sunrise Cove!

Thank you to Jill Shalvis, Avon & Harper Voyage, and Net galley for the ARC. My review is voluntary, and all opinions are mine.
I loved The Love Fix for many reasons. The area it takes place in is near and dear to my heart. I have been a fan of Jill's books for awhile now. The story of Heath and Lexi captured my interest and held it until I finished the book. Love, love, love when that happens. Quick 1 day read. Jill always writes characters with warmth and humor and the characters of Heath, Lexi, and Ashley followed that precedent.

This book is an emotional journey of forgiveness, acceptance, love and self growth all wrapped up into a beautiful story with a summer setting. It was fun seeing two sisters that are so opposite work together, bond and realize they make the perfect balance. I really enjoyed Heath & Lexi’s backstories and see them work through it together. This is a great summer romance with depth that will give you all the feels.
𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬:
Lexi is heading home to Lake Tahoe at her step sister Ashley’s request. It is suppose to be a week trip but Lexi just lost her job and doesn’t have anything to get back to. Lexi and Ashley couldn’t be more opposite and they have a totally different memories of life with their mom.
Lexi finds out upon her return that her mom won the lottery and has asked them to hand deliver 6 envelopes to different people. It’s been a year since her passing so this is an odd request. The envelopes are to be delivered 1 week apart, her mom’s reasoning was this will give Lexi time to reconnect with Ashley.
But going home is a lot for Lexi to deal with, there is Heath. Her childhood rival and big time crush. Time has treated him well and he is just as handsome as ever. But Ashley doesn’t believe in love and she doesn’t trust men, so Heath will have to work hard to show her he’s not going anywhere. The only problem is Lexi has no plans to stay after the six weeks she’s out.

This is a story of love…romantic love, love of family, and love for oneself. I always know anything written by Jill Shalvis will be good, and this one sure didn’t disappoint! Really loved the charcters, the plot and the way the story developed! I’d love a follow up story with Ashley as the main focus!

The characters were funny and sweet and I liked seeing them together. The fmc and mmc both had trauma in their past but the book isn't dark. I liked the romance but I always feel like I'm missing something when the characters knew each other previously. This was an enjoyable quick read.

Each book in this series can be read as a stand-alone.
This was a beautiful story about overcoming childhood tragedy. And, finding love again.
The chemistry between Lexi and Heath is hot. Their banter is sizzling for sure!
Definitely a well written romance!
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

The Love Fix
Sunrise Cove Book 8
By Jill Shalvis
⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️
After year after the death of her estranged mother, Lexi finds herself back in Sunrise Cove to help her half sister Ashley carry out her mother’s last wishes. Lexi’s childhood enemy and Ashley’s dear friend Heath finds himself along for the ride. While the sisters complete the tasks left for them, Heath and Lexi realize beyond the animosity they really do enjoy each other’s company.
I thought this was a great story. The thing I love about Jill Shalvis is that you get a heart felt story that keeps you interested and has you kicking your feet and rooting for the MCs HEA. I have read a few other in the Sunrise Cove series and they all give you the same feeling. These books are a perfect escape when you need a break for the high stakes world.

The Love Fix is a heartwarming, endearing romance that delivers sweet, sizzling chemistry and emotional depth in equal measure. Lexi and Heath’s journey is everything you could want—full of witty banter, tender moments, and a slow-burn connection that feels both satisfying and real.
One of the highlights of this book is the evolving sisterhood between Lexi and Ash. Their relationship, complicated by past wounds and present struggles, develops beautifully, adding a rich layer of soul-warming depth to the story. The road trip element brings fun, adventure, and just the right amount of chaos, making it a perfect backdrop for healing, self-discovery, and learning to embrace life’s second chances.
Heath is the ultimate book boyfriend—patient, perceptive, and irresistibly charming. The way he respects Lexi’s boundaries while still gently breaking down her walls had me swooning. Their dynamic is pure magic, balancing humor, heat, and heartfelt emotion.
