This book is so much more than just a romance novel. While it does have the slow burn angst of a romance it is so much more. This book is about forgiving the people who have hurt us as well as forgiving ourselves for our past mistakes. It is about found family and what we make of those relationships.

Lexi has been estranged from her family for years. Barely keeping in touch with her stepsister Ashley. She is forced back home to fulfill her dead mother’s wishes. She wants to be anywhere but there. Her life has imploded and she is struggling to figure out where she belongs.

Thank you NetGalley and Avon Harper Voyager for the advanced reader copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

The Love Fix is just what you expect from Jill Shalvis, a little sweet, a little spicy, with a heartwarming storyline. This is an enemies to lovers trope, which is one of my favorites, especially when the couple have a long history. While this book is 8th in a series, I had no trouble whatsoever understanding what was going on between characters and I have not read any of the other books in this series. However, I have read a a fair amount of Jill Shalvis in the past (Goodreads says I've read 27 of her books), and if you like contemporary romance you can always depend on Shalvis to deliver a warm and funny read with just the right amount of spice. Her plot narrative moves along quickly and I read this in one sitting. I enjoyed the romantic story between Lexi and Heath more than the storyline between Lexi and Ashley. Life is messy and Lexi and Ashley worked through a lot of their past traumas in a very effective way, but it wasn't my favorite part of the novel. I appreciated the different perspectives they all came away with from growing up with a shared history with the same people.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon/Harper Voyage publishers for the advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

4⭐️ This was so cute! I had no idea it was set in Lake Tahoe with a California style road trip, so I had a lot of fun with the setting (though no one from NorCal calls it “the eighty.” it’s just 80. smh). This is a cozier happier version of PS I Hate You romance with themes of grief and regret but not in a i-need-therapy-after sort of way. Probably not a book I’ll remember for the rest of my days but a sweet romance that interested me enough to continue the series! Out 6/24

🌄 THE LOVE FIX- JILL SHALVIS🌄
Finished this short and sweet story from @avonbooks @harpervoyagerus thanks to @netgalley today! I didnt realize this was the last in a series, but absolutely reads as a standalone. Lexi is brought back to Lake Tahoe by her sister, after the death of their mom. What her sister fails to mention, is Lexi's mom left money to those she owed, and its their job to deliver them, one a week, for 6 weeks. or so shes told 😉. Along with Lexi's childhood neighbor, whom she just so happens to have feelings for, Lexi and her sassy, spritely younger sister set out with Heath to right the wrongs their mother left. While healing herself, her relationship with her sister, and whatever lies between her and Heath. (Cant forget Heaths nosy and outspoken Grandad either!)

I finished this within a span of a few hours so a nice in between read. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for early access in exchange for my review!

It has been a minute since I read a true contemporary romance. This book is a journey to learning about oneself and proving that life is messy. Sometimes you have to let those walls down to accept love, acceptance, and learning that coming home is well home.

Lexi has come back to Sunrise Cove after her sister, Ashley, insistence. She learns once she is back that her moms final wishes was for her step-sister and her are to deliver 6 envelopes to people she wronged and to make amends. Lexi has always known her mom to break promises but during each envelope trip she is learning more and more. Lexi struggles with knowing that her mom was there for her step-sister and not her. We get down the nitty gritty with Lexi's emotions. You cannot help but be mad with her after everything she is learning.

Heath, her childhood crush, is around to help the two sisters in their journey. He made a promise to their mom and is making sure it happens. But with both of them masking their feelings, walls are being pushed between both of them.

This book does pull at the heart strings. At times I wanted to yell for Lexi myself to protect her but then at times going girl, go get the guy LOL.

This was a very irritating book. The main female character was very unlikeable. She kept pushing people away from her, over and over. She stayed unlikeable all the way up to the end of the book. The plot was contrived and I ended up just skimming through trying to see if she ever became a character worth the love that her stepsister and love interest shower her with. Nope, didn’t happen.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

The Love Fix
By: Jill Shalvis

Thank you to Jill Shalvis and her amazing team as well as Avon for the free e-arc! All opinions are my own.

Lexi’s life is falling apart and the last thing that she wants to do is go home to Sunrise Cove and face the chaos and big feelings that she left behind. If not for her stepsister, Ashley, Lexi would never have wanted to step foot in this town again. But Lexi can’t refuse Ashley’s plea for help honoring their late mothers final wishes even if her mother is the person in her life who has caused her the most pain and despite the fact that her infuriatingly handsome childhood nemesis is named executor and seems to keep tagging along.

Name an author whose writing feels like home to you. Mine is Jill Shalvis. Her books melt my heart in all the best ways each and every time. The characters she creates, the settings she builds, and the stories she tells, are so beautiful. I have never read one of her books that I didn’t automatically fall in love with.

Lexi with all her messy independence touched my heart and seeing her and Heath circle around each other before they finally let go of their fears and take that leap toward one another… swoon! And, no one writes family dynamics the way that Jill does. She masterfully captures all the struggle and the drama and pairs it with humor and love in such a way that is so real. Lexi and Ashley’s relationship was such a dynamic part of this story. Her books are just the best!

I hope that The Love Fix makes it onto your summer reading list this year!

I absolutely adore Jill Shalvis and all of her novels. There is nothing that she cannot write and write well! I take no criticism on any of her books, and always end up falling for the characters and small town. I have loved following along in this series, and seriously wish I could just jump right into the pages sometime!

Jill Shalvis has a talent for writing complicated family drama while still making the characters lovable. Lexi and Heath plus their sidekick Ashley are so endearing you want to be a part of their close knit circle. They turn their dysfunction into a delightful, dynamic, dazzling and dedicated extended family. A not to be missed summer read!

Despite not really keeping in touch, Lexi can't refuse her stepsister Ashley's request, and her mother's dying wish, for Ashley and Lexi to deliver letters to repay the people who supported her despite her gambling addiction. So, Lexi goes home and is confronted with painful memories of how her mother failed her, and is also confronted with Heath, the man who could very easily steal or break her heart. Lexi's walls are ten feet high, but Ashley and Heath have a way of getting around them.

Despite there being way more grammar/syntax mistakes than I'm used to, I had a good time reading The Love Fix. Jill Shalvis is a perennial favorite of mine, so I'm always delighted when I can read her novels ahead of the publishing date. Jill Shalvis is good at creating complicated characters - perhaps a little too good: I had a hard time getting over Ashley for lying to Lexi in the end, and I also had a hard time getting past how Daisy was able to show up for Ashley but not Lexi.

Overall, a great contemporary romance that's worth a read.

Lexi has to return to her mother's house and her sister after their mom passes away. She has to deal with her childhood and her school nemesis, Heath. Lexi helps her sister, Ashley, deal with settling the estates reluctantly. There are a lot of people who they meet and deal with. Can time heal all wounds and how do you deal with the truth?

I loved this book! The characters are so heartwarming and it feels like visiting with old friends. As always Jill Shalvis is quite a master storyteller. I couldn’t put it down and did t want it to end! The setting is so descriptive you feel like you are there. The story is unique and told so well as it unfolds. I can’t wait to read what this author writes next.

Yet another great book by Jill Shalvis. I'm guilty to say that I own quite a bit of books by Jill Shalvis. I just can't get enough of them for the author supplies all the feels, tears and even pulls on your heartstrings. Each book has its own set of characters that you become invested in from the start to end of the story. You get to know their realistic battles and personal struggles in life that the reader can truly relate to in many ways. This is why I enjoy books by Jill Shalvis. She has a way to reel you in and can't get enough until you have read all her books! definitely recommend this book

Thank you so much Avon and Jill Shalvis for the arc of this book!

I loved how sweet and cozy this story was. There was a perfect blend of emotion, humor, and family bonds.

A year after her mom died, Lexi goes home to Sunset Cove to spend 6 weeks with her stepsister, Ashley, fulfilling their mom's final wishes. Having to face her past is not easy for Lexi, especially her relationships with Ashley and Heath, her childhood nemesis and "former" crush.

I loved the growing bond between Ashley and Lexi, as they slowly worked to build an adult relationship and face past hurts. And I absolutely adored the relationship between Lexi and Heath. There was a lot of snapping and banter, glowering looks and eye rolls. But there was also plenty of attraction, pining, sneaky glances and chemistry.

Jill Shalvis has such a talent for crafting bonds between her characters. I loved seeing Heath with his brother and grandfather...their scenes had me laughing out loud. And the friendship between Ashley and Heath was just so sweet. She spent the whole book doing everything in her power to push Heath and Lexi together and it was equal parts hilarious and heartfelt.

I recommend this one to anyone who enjoys emotional yet sweet and swoony romances told from a dual POV (my favorite!)

Tropes:
Small town
Childhood rivals
Only one tent
Meddling sibling
Neighbors
Found family
Healing past hurts

I just love Jill Shalvis books. They are always so enjoyable, love the plots and the characters. Lexi travels home after she has lost her job and her step sister needs help with her estranged mother's last wishes. Her mother wants to make amends to several people that helped her out along her destructive past. Lexi, her step sister and her school rivalry Hearth go to each place to deliver the letters. The last 2 letters are for her and her sister. Will she ever forgive her mother. This was so emotional and enjoyable. Thank you Avon and NetGalley for the ARC

Jill Shalvis certainly knows how to pull our heart strings. Unusual family situation. Many past hurts. Lots of healing required. Another wonderfully emotional visit to Sunrise Cove. I look forward to more. I do skip over the intimate scenes, but at least there didn't appear to be many explicit details. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

Lexi is asked to come home by her half sister Ashley after their mother passes away. Heath, who was her childhood friend, is the executor. Life does get interesting when she arrives and there are so many things that they will have to face, decide, what to do, Ashley wants to connect with her sister and become sisters, Time will tell what happens as you read this story. It made me laugh, cry, and hoping the three of them would reconnect
Jill Shalvis has a way of writing, that brings them together, and then starts to unravel on the things that had been going on, to the start of what is to come. It kept me reading, and made me feel all kinds of emotions.
I received an ARC from Avon through NetGalley.

Rating: 4.5 Stars

A year after her estranged mother's death, Lexi is summoned back to Sunrise Cove by her step-sister, Ashley. Being at a low point in her personal and professional life, Lexi struggles with returning to a place that held a mix of memories for her and stirred up many complicated feelings about her mother. What starts out as a dreaded mission turns into a life changing journey for Lexi.

I say this every time, but only because I mean it. There's nothing like a Shalvis book to boost my spirits. I find her blend of humor, romance, and emotion to be perfect, every time. Once again, she crafted a story with warmth and heart and characters I could root for.

Lexi was a bit hardened from her life experiences. Her parents divorced when she was young, and due to her mother's gambling addiction, her father won full custody. After being abandoned by her mother, mistreated by her father's new family, and betrayed by her last boyfriend, Lexi had hardened her heart. This trip back to Sunrise Cove was exactly what she needed to come to terms with her past and heal.

Part of that healing journey was the task at hand, delivering the envelopes Daisy left. Each contained a gift and an apology of sorts. These deliveries were eye opening for Lexi and allowed her to see a different side of her mother while also helping her learn more about herself.

Lexi had the love and support of both Ashley and her childhood rival and crush, Heath. Ashley was a sweetheart who openly declared how much Lexi meant to her. I enjoyed watching these sisters renew the bond they once shared, and I was glad Ashley never gave up on Lexi.

Heath was a gem. He and Lexi shared so much history. First as children competing in any way possible, then as adults who found themselves dealing with the sparks and attraction between them. I adored seeing Heath with his family. They had such a great dynamic, and their interactions really showcased the A-plus type of human Heath was. I could not have picked a better love interest for Lexi. The combination of their history together and their history apart made them a great match, and it was a pleasure watching them take that fall together.

Overall, I loved being back in Sunrise Cove and was overjoyed that Lexi was able to heal and open her heart to the possibilites and love she found there.

4.5 stars This was a very good book. Lexi has to go back to her home town to deliver envelopes with her sister that her mother asked in the will. Lexi is closed off based on her childhood and doesn’t do feelings and attachments. She is also heading to where Heath lives. He has been a rival since they were kids, but there is a connection she doesn’t want to think about. Heath also isn’t looking for a relationship. I enjoyed seeing the three of them grow and support each other.
