Another enjoyable read by Jill Shalvis. I like this Sunrise Cove series, they are easy to read with part romance part emotional family connections and issues. Sisters find their way back to each other and childhood rivals to lovers. Easy, fun read! I like that this series is set in the same location but all characters are different, so can be read as a standalone.

The Love Fix, written by Jill Shalvis, is the eighth book in the Sunrise Cove Series. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading the entire series.

Lexi Clark's life is in shambles, so when her stepsister Ashley asks her to come home to Sunrise Cove, she agrees. Ashley wants Lexi to help honor their late mother's wishes...hand deliver an envelope to people she had wronged and make amends. What she didn't realize is that Heath...her childhood crush...would be accompanying them on the road trip.

The story that unfolds is well-written with wonderful characters that have complex histories together. Lexi has a lot of baggage, and through the course of the story, she learns to work through her issues. Most importantly, she learns to let her guard down and open herself up to the possibility of love. It was great to see the relationship between Lexi and Ashley grow as they truly began to learn and know one another. As for Heath, I absolutely loved his character and how supportive and patient he is with Lexi.

Overall, this story is about healing from the past and learning to open your heart to the future and all that entails. I thoroughly enjoyed following the journey of Lexi, Ashley and Heath.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager. My views are my own and are in no way influenced by anyone else.

A fun, light hearted beach read. A pair of sisters that have been estranged are reunited to fulfill their mother’s dying wish. It forces them to spend time together. But, it also provides escape from other pieces of their lives. Thanks to NetGalley for the read.

This was a lovely story about finding family, healing from the past, and being able to embrace the messy and unpredictable journey that life has to offer. You have a wonderfully quirky setting showing an interconnected community. You have a great protagonist in Rory who reminds us the greatest love stories are the ones that help us rediscover ourselves. I found that Rory is a relatable heroine, grappling with a past that has left her emotionally guarded. Haunted by childhood trauma and a string of failed relationships, she approaches life with a pragmatic, almost clinical detachment. However, her carefully constructed walls begin to crumble when she encounters the charismatic and infuriatingly persistent Leo Maxwell. Leo, with his infectious optimism and genuine care, becomes the catalyst for Rory's journey of self-discovery. This is a heartwarming and uplifting read that reminds us of the importance of embracing vulnerability and allowing ourselves to love, even when it feels scary.

This is a fun adventure filled with humor and love. Lexi doesn't want to go back to Sunrise Cove, but her stepsister asked her to come and so, she did. Ashley is asking Lexi to help with Lexi's mom's last wishes. Lexi and her mother had a very contentious relationship, but Ashley is the only person she has left, so she will help her out. She didn't expect Heath to be a part of the whole thing, but there he is. Heath and Lexi has had a competition going since they were in grade school. Doesn't matter what it is, one of them has to be the best. What Lexi doesn't tell Ashley and Heath is that she has lost her job and has nowhere else to be. There are things that Ashley and Heath are holding back from Ashley too. Lexi has been pushing people away for years and has gotten quite good at it. She might be tired of it but doesn't know how to stop it. Will she let Ashley and Heath in her life, or will she be the lone wolf forever?

I love Sunrise Cove, and this book did not disappoint! The series is all standalone, so you really could jump in to this without having read the rest of the series, but I highly recommend reading them all! It's fun to see the little snippets of the town, and at this point, it feels like a place I've visited. I loved seeing the relationship between the sisters come together. Ashley deserves her own HEA, and I hope we'll get a short story at least of her in the future. Lexi was a closed book to everyone when she first arrived back in Sunrise Cove, and her story slowly unfolds to share why she's so reserved. I enjoyed getting to know Daisy through the letters and the contact with her friends, it added an additional emotional layer.

Heath and Lexi went through their emotional roller coaster together, and it was worth the wait when they finally got out of their own way. Heath's grandfather, brother, sister-in-law and nephew also provided the comic relief. I actually went back to see if I had missed a book on Cole and Misty, because I wanted their story too!

I hope this isn't the last we see of Sunrise Cove, but I know I'll read anything Jill Shalvis writes. Her characters feel like friends, and she creates such rich communities that I miss them when the book ends.

Lexi and her mother had a tumultuous relationship due to her mother’s drinking and gambling. Her father took her away as a child, and Lexi avoided her mother and Sunrise Cove for years. Ashley, her sister invited her back with an unstated motive, they were tasked by their now deceased mother to deliver envelopes to make amends, but they had to do it in person and in a certain order.

Lexi didn’t expect to see Heath, a former crush and neighbor when she arrived. He didn’t have a great childhood either, so he understood Lexi and her hard exterior. The three of them begin the distribution, learning a lot about Daisy and themselves in the process. Is it possible they will all come out of this with different relationships and outlooks? I recommend that you read this. It’s ok if you haven’t read the other books in the series, this is pretty much a standalone.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

I’m usually a smutty romance reader, but the cover and blurb of The Love Fix completely drew me in. It’s my first book from the Sunrise Cove series, and it worked perfectly as a standalone. Now I so want to visit this gorgeous, cozy Lake Tahoe–area town that Shalvis brings to life.

In this story, Lexi returns to her childhood home, to a small town full of complicated memories, and to reconnect with her stepsister Ashley. It’s a return that leaves her anxious and tempted to bolt at any second. Add to that the presence of Heath — her childhood-turned-adult crush and Ashley’s best friend — and Lexi is really in for it.

Heath is the ultimate small-town good guy. Formerly a big-time lawyer in the city, he’s now back home helping people however he can, after caring for his grandfather. One of those good-guy missions? Helping Lexi and Ashley finally bond as true sisters after their mother’s passing.

Each of them has past wounds to work through, learning to trust, love, and let themselves be cared for. This book is a beautiful reminder that not everyone will turn their back on you — some people are willing to love you unconditionally, if you’re brave enough to let them.

The Love Fix is heartfelt, hopeful, and perfect for your next summer read. Highly recommend!

I really liked this one, but I love anything Jill Shalvis writes. This one spoke to me because of the sisters. The sisters reuniting and growing closer was the story, although the love line was great too. I love the setting, I loved the cast of characters that were around our main characters as well.

The Love Fix was my first Jill Shalvis book, and it definitely won’t be my last! With great banter, lovable characters, and just the right amount of swoon, this story had me hooked! If you’re looking for a feel-good romance that’ll leave you smiling, this one’s for you! Huge shout out to NetGalley and HarperCollins Publishers for the ARC!

Blood is definitely not thicker than water when it comes to family. Lexi is estranged from her mom, Daisy, at 10 years old. Her mom remarried and gained a stepdaughter, Ashley. Lexi always felt Daisy let her down, gave up on her and let her take take her in the divorce. At the same time, Ashley got the mother that Daisy never was to Lexi.
A year after Daisy died, 23-year-old Ashley, and he older stepsister, Lexi have to follow Daisy's final wishes by delivering 6 letters, by hand, together, 1 a week for 6 weeks. By happenstance, Lexi was fired from her job and (although not being honest with her stepsister) struggles to stay to fulfill their mother's" final wishes.
Lexi had a tough childhood, her mom's gambling, her dad not being around. While living in Tahoe, beginning in 2nd grade she had a competitive rivalry with neighbor Heath. Heath and his brother Cole had their own traumatic childhood. Mother dying, abusive alcoholic father, living with Grandpa Gus. To Heath, Daisy was a savior on the other side of the fence.
Daisy had varied relationships with people, but was never reconciled with her own child, Lexi. So when she has to come back and deliver letters (and money) to people her mom knew, Lexilearns about a woman she knew nothing about. At the same time, she develops a relationship with Ashely and Heath and she finds her own solid ground in life.

The Love Fix is the 8th book in the Sunrise Cove series, and it was my first Jill Shalvis read. I thoroughly enjoyed it! According to the author, this series is linked only by location, not by characters. As the book’s description states, this novel is about “reconciliation, forgiveness, and unlikely love”. Lexi returns to Sunrise Cove after a years-long absence, and unexpectedly finds a new relationship with her sister, and a childhood friend who is much more handsome and appealing than she remembered.

Lexi has many negative associations with Sunrise Cove and her mother Daisy, who was not present for most of Lexi’s life, and passed away a year prior. She returns to Sunrise Cove for her mother’s will reading, and is surprised to learn that her mother died rich, and she and her sister are required to distribute letters and checks to Daisy’s friends over a six week period. Lexi’s sister, Ashley, slowly wears down Lexi’s protective armor over their time together, and they form a new trust and relationship. Lexi also reacquaints herself with her handsome neighbor Heath, her childhood enemy.

Initially, this story felt a bit slow to me, and I was uncertain about Lexi’s character. She was completely closed off and had no connections to other people. As the plot develops, we see Lexi slowly begin to trust the people in Sunrise Cove who care for her. All three main characters evolve and go through a transformation as they work together to follow Daisy’s final wishes. I loved seeing how Lexi, her sister, and their neighbors all take care of and support each other. I enjoyed all of the relationships in the novel, not just the romance.

The Love Fix is a heartwarming novel about relationships and reconciliation. This novel is a great summer beach read!

Thank you to Jill Shalvis, Avon and Harper Voyager, and NetGalley for an advance review copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review. All opinions are my own.

Welcome back to Sunrise Cove, in the fictional world it's becoming one of my favorite places to be. This book is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Lexie and Ashley, two of the main characters, are stepsisters but they have had extremely different experiences in life. Lexie loses her job on a false accusation, and at the same time is called back to Sunrise Cove by Ashley to deliver some letters that their mother left behind with distinct directions of when to deliver and who was to receive them. In comes Heath, longtime neighbor who has a past with Lexie beginning in the second grade. All three of the main characters have family situation and emotions in their lives that are worked through during the story. I loved the endearing romance that developed, I really enjoyed the familial love that was shown, and the growth of character that the story told.

I enjoy Jill Shalivs and will definitely be back for more of her stories.

Thank you to Netgalley, Jill Shalvis and Avon publishing for the e-arc in exchange for my opinion.

Heath and Lexi met in 2nd grade and became competitive friends. Her parents divorced and Dad got custody, moving her away. Her mom remarried and she got a step sister in the process. Mom had addictions that caused a distance between the mother and daughter. Upon her mother's death, Lexi must deal with her steps sister Ashley and her childhood genesis Heath.

What unfolds is a story of resilience and second chances: of learning about the family we make versus the family we're born into. It's realizing your own doubles and opening your heart to accept love, from the most unlikely source.

Another fun book from MS Shalvis that is worth reading. Although I received a free ARC from Net Galley and the publisher, all opinions are my own.

The Love Fix is everything fans of Jill Shalvis hope for—funny, sweet, and has a happily ever after ending. It’s a story about complicated-dysfunctional families, past hurts, and the slow, and a re-newed outlook on love. A wonderful visit to the small town of Sunrise Cove, this book
creates a happy setting that everyone wants to visit.

I received an arc of this book from NetGalley. After Lexi's mom dies and she loses her job, her stepsister Ashley asks her to come home and fulfill her mothers last wish. While Lexi didn't have a very good relationship with her mother she goes home to help Ashley. While there she learns secrets of her past that she didn't know. Her and Ashley, adided by Heath carry out her mothers wishes and deal with her tatered past. She comes to understand things that made her not want to return to Sunrise Cove. She learns that things are not always how they seem. That family is always there for family.

This story was emotional and bittersweet. The storyline between the sisters was very moving. I liked the theme of forgiveness for those who harm us and ourselves and I always love the reminder that it's never too late to change for the better and to rewrite the ending of our own stories. Jill Shalvis reliably writes an enjoyable love story and that hold true with this book.

This was an entertaining story that was a pleasure to read. It is the last in the series but it is a standalone. Lexi returns to Sunset Cove to carry out her late mother’s wishes alongside her younger stepsister Ashley. As they travel around delivering letters with Heath, who is the executor of the will, the dynamics change between Heath and Lexi, who used to be rivals. This is a love story and a story of family and forgiveness. I would recommend this book and series. I was given an arc from Net Galley but this is my honest review.

Thanks to Avon Books for my advanced copy of The Love Fix by Jill Shalvis. I always love her books.

While this is book 8 in the Sunrise Cove series they are all standalone. These small-town contemporary romances are set in Sunrise Cove near Lake Tahoe.

I liked the enemies to lovers between Lexi and Heath along with rekindling their crushes since they were in high school. I liked seeing Lexi and her half sister Ashley build their relationship.Plus the best part was Mayhem the yellow lab!

If you like stories about found family, forgiveness and love you'll enjoy Jill Shalvis!
