The Love Fix by Hill Shalvis is a heartwarming story about life, and family and helping to make things right. This book gave me all the feels…. Starting with Lexi , who was pretty much abandoned by her gambling addicted Mom when she was young. She didn’t have a great homelife with her Dad, which really made her guarded and a little standoffish. The Sister Ashly who was adored by her Mother is a ray of sunshine everywhere she goes. After their Mother’s Death, the girls must complete the task of righting the wrongs that their Mother had. In delivering these letters all over the country, the girls (mainly Lexi) learns some big life lessons. It’s a good read, I couldn’t put it down.

Life in disfunctional families is complicated and can leave people with anger and resentments that go deep into people's hearts. Jill Shalvis has taken one families' problems and dissected them to see if they can be salvaged. Step sisters must fulfill the final request made by their mother (step mother) who wanted to make amends for the mistakes she made in her past. The journey to complete this is emotional but worth it. I enjoyed reading this book very much.

This is really a 3.5 book. I enjoyed the first book in the Sunrise Cove series and was delighted when I was approved for an ARC on NetGalley. This is about Lexi, who's just been laid off from her job as an appraiser with a big firm and reconnects with her childhood crush Heath and her half sister Ashley when Ashley tells Lexi their mother wanted both of them to deliver letters to specific recipients after her death.

Lexi was a hard character to fall for - she's extremely guarded. She had a rough childhood, which I completely understand, but the book wasn't a joy to read because of that, it was very gloomy as Lexi tries to reconcile the mother who abandoned her and never cared for her with the woman she's discovering through the letters and Ash's memories. The romance is okay, nothing special. Again, Lexi does her utmost to push Heath away when there's really nothing wrong with him so it was frustrating to read about. My favourite part of this book was definitely Ashley - what a ray of sunshine and love this girl is. I wish she's got a whole book about her quest to find the right woman, she's so lovely and the soul of this book for me. I also loved their sisterly bond and their connection with their mother and the letters which uncover different aspects of her personality even after death, that was special to read about.

My endless thanks to NetGalley and Avon for this ARC!

I loved reading this book soo much❤️ Lexi and Heath’s relationship definitely tugged on the emotions this time. I really enjoyed that they were both trying to work through stuff from their past and that Lexi’s stepsister Ashley was there to help things along. Lexi and Ashley have some things to work through since the passing of their mom and the task she set up for them in her will. Lexi just wants to complete the task and leave but Ashley and Heath want her to stay. Won’t say more because no spoilers here, but I love the interactions with Heath’s family. Got some funny moments in there too. Highly recommend this last book in the Sunrise Cove series. 🥰

She is returning home because her mom has passed and her stepsister needs help settling a few things. What she doesn't know is her mom won a small fortune right before she passed. The executor of her estranged mother’s estate just so happens to be nemesis-turned-crush. The money isn't going to them but to the people her mom chose and she had letters to deliver to each one of them. During their quests they learn more about each other and her late mom.

Enter the tapestry of Sunrise Cove set in the Sierra Nevada mountains just off Lake Tahoe. The author paints a picture of a woman coming to terms with a painful past. She learning that there are two sides to every story and only she can let it keep hurting her or reconcile her feelings and move on. Lexi has been letting her past inform her present and it’s keeping her from living her best life. Heath to has a painful past but he handles it differently. Watching these two heal and fall in love was heartwarming. The side characters had me doing spit-takes and laughing out loud.
This book can be read standalone.

"The Love Fix" by Jill Shalvis was a heartwarming story that was hard to put down.
Lexie is back home after her mom has passed. In the will her mom asked Lexie and her sister to do something to help make people's lives better. As Lexie has to navigate her feelings for the past and what happened in her childhood she struggles to make connections with her sister. Heath is helping Lexie and her sister to accomplish the task that their mom set out for them. When Lexie and Heath spend more time together their feelings from the past make them want to connect on a different level. As Lexie finds out just what and who are important to her she makes a decision to go after what she wants.
Highly recommend this book for a nice summer read.

This was exactly what I needed to read. I've been a fan of Jill Shalvis for years—her stories always blend humor, pets, and great relationships. When I felt myself heading toward a reading slump, this story was the perfect escape, and it didn't disappoint.

The Love Fix gave me all the feels, with the chemistry between Lexi and Heath, their witty banter, and the heart-wrenching moments throughout. I knew I'd get my happily-ever-after by the end. I particularly loved watching the sisterly bond develop between Lexi and Ashley. This was a journey of self-discovery for Lexi, wrapped in lessons of forgiveness.

Thank you to Avon Books & NetGalley for this copy.

The Love Fix is a fun return visit to Sunrise Cove (the 8th book in this series). This is the 3-fold story of Lexi, her stepsister Ashley and Lexi’s childhood crush, Heath. Lexi returns home to Sunrise Cove, begrudgingly, to help Ashley with her estranged Mother’s estate. Lexi & Ashley are opposites and working together to fulfill their mother’s final wishes is a struggle.
Lexi carries a lot of hurt and distrust and this extended time back in Sunrise Cove gives herself, and Ashley, and Heath, the time needed to work through everything from their respective pasts and history and hopefully move on to brighter futures.
This ultimately is a love story – with many, many layers. You will laugh and maybe tear up a little, but it’s also filled with forgiveness, second chances, found family and, of course, love. I enjoyed it and highly recommend the entire Sunrise Cove series to anyone.

I enjoyed this book but it was another one that didn’t have me dying to finish it. Was it predictable? Yes. Did I still ultimately have a good time with it? Yes.

As usual, I always fall for relatable characters and what got me the most in this story was Lexi and Heath each having their own parental issues/trauma. I love to read about real humans, and them being childhood rivals to lovers was a sweet addition to the romance.

Again I didn’t realize I was signing up for something in an interconnected series, and I’m intrigued enough to give others in The Sunrise Cove series a shot and to see if there are any familiar faces. I’d be willing to bet Misty and Cole might be one 👀

I would recommend this one if your looking for a ‘textbook’ contemporary romance with a HEA at the end ☺️

This was my first Jill Shalvis book, and it won’t be my last. This book is deep, sweet, funny, complicated, and just a wonderful read. It’s about family, forgiveness, and acceptance. I will definitely be returning to this world.

The Love Fix by Jill Shalvis is the eighth book in the Sunrise Cove series. However, this book can easily be read as a stand alone. I have enjoyed Jill Shalvis’ books in the past, so I was eager to pick up this one and I was not disappointed at all! The themes of family and forgiveness while finding love highlight the enemies-to-lovers novel.

Lexi Clark’s life is imploding and she is on the last of her cash and reserves. However, she flies home to follow through with her mother’s request to make amends. Lexi’s step sister Ashley complicates things by being her upbeat self even when Lexi is struggling to make connections with her. On top of that, Heath, the man she has had a crush on for years, is there to help everything go smoothly as the executor of the will. They end up doing a series of road trips to present various people letters from Lexi and Ashley’s mom (stepmom) which allows them to hear more stories about her. Stories that show her in a good light, unlike what Lexi ever saw. To top off the tasks, Lexi is still sparking over Heath and wants to have sex with the gorgeous man while not moving the bars protecting her heart.

Jill Shalvis writes fun to read novels, often adding in situations that highlight the humor in life while writing about hard subjects her characters often have to work through. For me the insect dance made me laugh, but the dog and the toddler in the backyard about killed me laughing. (You will know it when you read it) The Love Fix by Jill Shalvis is a good read that will keep you up too late reading (not that I did that).

The book will be published on June 24th

I love Jill Shalvis but it took a while for me to get into this book. I liked the characters and the ending.

Lexie is headed back to Tahoe after losing her job and discovering she has no one in her corner. Ashley is excited for her sister to come home and help fulfill their Mom's last wish. In a story of redemption and hope Shalvis works her magic in making you love these flawed characters who need one another. Great story, good characters and interesting choices that make you laugh and cry. Can't wait for another book!

Going back to Sunrise Cove is not something that Lexi wants to do. But with troubles at work and being summoned by her step sister, she has no choice. There she is forced to come to terms with the relationship that she had with her mom, try to reconnect with her step sister and maybe find love with her former childhood nemesis. Complicated family situations, misunderstandings and finding the way back to happiness. Such a fun read! 10/10

Forgiving yourself and forgiving others are hard lessons to learn. Especially when expectations of others are pretty low. It's safer to keep your heart protected and to not let anyone in. But it's supposed to be easier when you're grown up, right? Another thoughtful story from Jill Shalvis.

Ugh I LOVE a good second chance with depth and substance to the story! Lexi was an FMC I really enjoyed, I related a lot to her story and the family dynamics happening. It was really sweet to see her live out final wishes from her mom while also experiencing a found love through her old crush (hello unexpected road trip) and her sister. This was a binge-worthy and enjoyable book that I would recommend when needed a quick read!

Thank you NetGalley and Harper Collins Publishers for this ARC!

So this one was a slight miss for me. I feel like the FMC had a lot to work through with not only her family but also her love interest. To me it just fell flat.

I have loved the sunrise Cove series from beginning to end. This book was not my favorite but still a good read.
Lexi Clark, antique appraiser, has been fired from her job and her life has fallen apart. When she receives a summons for help from her step sister Ashley, the last thing she wants to face is going home. She feels like she will be another emotional burden added to her sisters load but she knows she needs to go back and help Ashley take care of her step mom’s last request.
Heading back to Sunrise Cove brings surprises of its own. Little did Lexi know that her long-time school rival and secret crush, Heath Bowman, was the administrator of the estate and right in the middle of everything!
Lexie fights hard to stay apart from the others but time and proximity can slowly erode even the hardest heart.
Lexie and Ashley’s journey to sisterhood is slow but heart warming and of course her journey with Heath is well worth the read. Sometimes happy every after’s come when you least expect it!

This book put a smile on my face and warm fuzzies in my heart. This was such an enjoyable read. This is another great installment in the Sunset Cove series, and part of what I love about this series is that you do not need to read the books in a particular order. I also love the setting of a small town near Lake Tahoe. I highly recommend this book.

I received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
