I’m sad this was the final Sunrise Cove book because I love the communities Shalvis builds.
Both Heath and Lexi went through the school of hard knocks and are reunited so Lexi can complete one last request from her negligent deceased mother.
I thought Lexi had nothing ti apologize for concerning her mother.
I loved the circus of people surrounding them especially all the flatulence with Mayhem and Grandpa Gus because I laughed hysterically after reading any scene they were in.
Hunky hottie Heath can work on anything for me any time, ever!!
It was a good ending to a great series?

2⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for an advanced copy of The Love Fix.

Lexi’s life is falling apart at the moment and it will not be made better by returning to her hometown to see her sister. Her hometown just puts her on edge. When she finds out her sister did not tell her the real reason she wanted her to come home she is angry but agrees to stay longer.

This has such potential but I could not stand the female main character. She was so mean and negative and I get that was part of the point of the story but it really took away from the book.

The Love Fix is the eighth novel in Jill Shalvis’s Sunset Cove series. While all books are connected by location in this lovely town on the coast of Lake Tahoe they otherwise are stand alone.

In this story Lexi Clark returns to Sunset Cove after her much younger stepsister Ashley almost begs her to come back. There is something the sisters must carry out to fulfill their mother’s last wishes. It’s been about a year since Daisy succumbed to a brief but serious illness. On the anniversary of her passing, Daisy had left instructions for her girls to deliver letters to certain people Daisy felt she owed. The recipients are spread across California, some stops being overnight. Accompanying the sisters, Heath Bowman will look out for the girls while carrying out his duties as executor.

Each of the three had different relationships with Daisy. Lexi, while Daisy’s natural daughter, was taken to live with her father when Daisy’s gambling addiction was so negatively effecting the family. As a result, Lexi’s relationship with her mother was virtually nonexistent. Mostly, Lexi could only remember the many disappointments and broken promises which led to her severing ties with Daisy. Now, Lexi is carrying secrets she doesn’t want to share.

Ashley was the daughter of Daisy’s second husband who passed away when Ashley was about 14. Unlike the relationship with Lexi, Daisy had actually been there for the most part to raise Ashley. This quest is being driven by Ashley, but more so to have time and establish a better relationship with her sister than to carry out Daisy’s wishes.

Heath Bowman, while no longer practicing law, is serving in that position as executor. Having a dreadfully abusive father, when his mother died and the family moved in with his Grandpa Gus who lives directly behind Daisy’s house, she stepped in where she could to protect and care for Heath and his younger brother Cole. For this he is eternally grateful. During the years when Lexi lived with Daisy the two bantered and competed at every turn. While Lexi felt the relationship to be a negative, for Heath it was very much the opposite.

Now, with the three together each seeking something different in this convoluted relationship, perhaps it is the fallen Daisy who will weave the magic to solidify relationships and orchestrate new beginnings. This is a very well plotted story with endearing characters. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

I love how Shalvis writes familial relationships and this was no different. Lexi and Ashley are step-sisters who shared a mother-figure (it's complicated) but the mother that Lexi had was very different from the mother that Ashley had. In addition, Lexi's carefully planned life has come apart at the seams.
Now she's back where she never wanted to be trying to settle her estranged mother's estate and come to terms with all the people who knew her mother as a very different person than the one who continuously let Lexi down. And there's also Heath - of the missed opportunities and the childhood rivalries.
I enjoyed this story. It reminded me a bit of the first Lucky Harbor trilogy which was one of my favorites but it was a new take on the premise. Lexi isn't the most likable main character at first. She's prickly and defensive but as the story goes on I understood her a bit better and she began to listen to those around her. I liked how the mother's final wishes were setup and how the range of emotions those actions evoked were dealt with.
This is the 8th book in the Sunrise Cove series but reads like a standalone and not like part of a series. I thoroughly enjoyed being back in a Shalvis-created world and look forward to reading more from her soon.

This was a great end to this beloved series. Enemies to Lovers/Childhood Crush, my favorite trope. I loved Lexi, even with all her emotional baggage, and sabotaging her own happiness. Heath is always trying to fix everyone without facing his own demons, got to love him. Ashley is the glue that holds them together, she loves dearly and wants everyone to know.

The Love Fix is book #8 in a series of “interconnected standalones” and had I known this from the start I probably wouldn’t have requested an arc copy. There are so many instances where it felt like I was missing information that’s probably been covered in previous books. There seemed to be a lot of “telling” rather than showing, which I assume is probably because those things have been explained in the other books and were just being recapped in this one, but it made the dialogue feel very unnatural and hard to read. There were so many parts I had to go back and reread just to figure out who was talking to who. And the way Lexi and Ashley were related was so confusing I had to go searching to figure out their connection, which wasn’t very clear from the start. Lexi and Heath were supposed to be childhood friends/enemies but then it seemed like there were so many things they didn’t know anything about each other, so that didn’t make much sense. The road trips were so far fetched and by the end I was just skimming to get it over with. Overall, it felt like a typical hallmark movie, so I don’t think I’ll be picking up any more of her books any time soon.

Thank you to NetGalley, Avon and Harper Voyager for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

The Love Fix by Jill Shalvis, book eight in the Sunrise Cove series, is a heartwarming, humorous, enemies-to-lovers tale where found family, second chances, forgiveness, healing, and love might just be the key to finding yourself.

Lexi Clark has had a difficult year. Her estranged mother passed away, she lost her job after trusting the wrong guy and now her confidence and self-worth have dropped to rock bottom levels. When her stepsister Ashley asks Lexi to return to Sunrise Cove to help complete their mother’s last wish, it’s the last thing she wants to do. Daisy, their mom, let Lexi down over and over, yet she helped Ashley thrive. Part of Daisy’s last wishes is that the girls deliver six envelopes to people their late mom had wronged, before they can move forward with their lives.

Heath Bowman, Lexi’s childhood rival and longtime thorn in her side, had always wanted Lexi; whether or not he chose to admit it before now. Once a high power lawyer, he now spends his time, and energy, taking care of his grandfather and others. Lexi’s return to Sunrise Cove has him feeling things he thought he had overcome. He manages to convince Lexi to complete her mother’s last wish, by volunteering to accompany her along the journey. He cannot ignore the chemistry brewing between them, but is hesitant to start something. Heath and Lexi will need to confront their trust issues before they overcome their pasts. Lexi also has a huge decision to make about her future and is Sunrise Cove can become home to her.

Heath and Lexi’s background broke my heart; both were hurt by a parental figure but in different ways. It’s understandable why they both keep people at arm’s length. They have been hurt too many times by the few individuals they let in. Since they have so much in common, they understand each other.

Ms. Shalvis took me on another amazing visit to Sunrise Cove as Lexi and Heath get a second chance for their friendship, heal from the hurts of their pasts, and build a romance between them. That no one is perfect but that’s the way of life. That forgiveness is possible and healing and love might just be the key to finding yourself.

I have enjoyed this series and always love the Lake Tahoe setting. Lexi is back after her life in NYC falls apart and is completing the will/wishes of her late mother.

This book is about grief as well as mending family ties. Lexi left behind her half sister, Ashley and has a lot of resentment towards how their mom treated them.

I struggled a bit with this one with Lexi's stubbornness and her not making efforts to be better with Ashley.

The romance between Heath and Lexi was a bit mix bag for me as well. I didn't get the reason why Lexi hated Heath so much. Again not sure if it's just her personality.

I enjoyed seeing Cole and his wife in this story as they were main characters in one of the books. Grandpa and Cole's child added a lot of fun elements to the book as well.

Thank you @avonbooks for a copy of this.

What happens when a snarky Lexi mixes with a sweet happy go lucky Ashley her stepsister and let’s throw in her arch enemy, the people pleaser Heath. You wind up reading a good book and having a few good laughs. Lexi returns home to the place of many bad memories surrounding her mother, Daisy. She did promise Ashley she would visit a week, it’s been a year since Daisy passed and her will require both girls present. Now ex-lawyer Heath is the informing them of their mom’s last wish. To once a week deliver in person, together an envelope to the addressee and there are six to be delivered. So now 1 week becomes 6. Unknown to Ashley and Heath, Lexi has been fired and is keeping that secret close to her chest.
As the days pass and little by little the shell she built up is being chipped away. And the true Lexi emerges.
Yes a series, but definitely can be read as a standalone. The additional characters will have you laughing, they are a hoot!
A great story of learning that everything is not always as it seems, that life is too short to hold grudges and finding your true self is never too late.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

This feels like one of the most vulnerable books in this series. Lexi heads home to Sunrise Cove per a request in her late mother's will. She begrudgingly heads there, though, not wanting to face the sister that never truly felt like one and the boy who drove her crazy growing up. Lexi, her sister Ashley, and the boy, Heath, all have in depth stories in this book. Lexi and Heath, in particular, have real hurts that they need to overcome and grow through. Watching the process was heartwarming. I love how Lexi and Heath really felt like they balanced each other out instead of one "fixing" the other. Shalvis has a way of tackling heavier issues with the perfect amount of lightheartedness. You are guaranteed to laugh while reading. Part of the magic is also developed through the found family that the characters build that envelopes you as they come together. Reading this book was like a warm hug that you don't want to end. It is fun and flirty and full of moments that make you believe in love. I throughly enjoyed this one and would recommend you add it to your TBR as soon as possible.

I love the Sunrise Cove series. I heard this was the last one in the series and I'm kind of bummed out, eventhough the stories don't overlap. It's nice sometimes when a series can be read as standalones. Jill Shalvis does a nice job with the character development of Ashley and Heath and Lexi, and I love how the side players fold in so nicely... Cole and grandpa brought levity and humor to the story. And I liked that the sister relationship between Ashley and Lexi wasn't rushed. Thanks Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The Love Fix was a heartfelt and emotional read full of family drama, healing, and slow burn romance. I really enjoyed returning to Sunrise Cove and following Lexi’s journey as she faces her past and begins to let people back into her life. She’s guarded and independent, but it’s clear how deeply she’s been hurt. Watching her slowly reconnect with her stepsister Ashley, and navigate her complicated feelings for her old crush Heath, was both moving and sweet.
The road trip aspect added a fun and quirky twist to the story, with plenty of heartfelt moments and a few laugh out loud situations. I especially loved the side characters, who brought warmth and humor. While the romance felt a little slow in places, I appreciated the emotional payoff in the end.
If you love stories about forgiveness, found family, and personal growth with a touch of romance, this one’s worth picking up!
Very grateful to the publisher for my copy through NetGalley, opinions are my own

Sunrise Cove, California – Present Day

Lexi grew up feeling abandoned by her mother, Daisy, who had a gambling problem and started a new life with a new family in Sunrise Cove. But her mother died, and Lexi has been summoned to Sunrise Cove to fulfill some requirements of her mother’s will. This means staying with Ashley, her stepsister, in their mother’s house. As much as Lexi is dreading the visit, the timing was perfect as she got fired from her job, accused of a crime she didn’t commit. Of course, returning to Sunrise Cove means running into the one guy she never forgot: Heath Bowman. He was always teasing Lexi growing up, but the biggest problem is that she had a crush on him…and probably still does. Lexi soon learns that the weeklong visit is expected to last six weeks while the women distribute letters (and possibly money) to the people on Daisy’s list. Will Lexi and Ashley grow closer during these six weeks, and will Lexi be able to ignore Heath and an ever-growing attraction?

It's a return to Sunrise Cove in THE LOVE FIX by Jill Shalvis. After her mother’s death, Lexi thought the small town on the shores of Lake Tahoe would be in her past, but there is the little matter of her mother’s will. Daisy had hit the lottery before she died, and her will reflects how she wants to pay back those she ran into over the years. Of course, this means being around Ashley, who is a bit of an eccentric like Daisy, and then there is Heath. He always teased Lexi, which angered her, but the fact that he didn’t see her as a potential romantic interest irked her even more. Heath is now a lawyer on a leave of absence and is staying with his grandfather to watch over him. This happens to be next door to Daisy’s old house, where Ashley is living. Lexi would rather be somewhere else than be around Heath, but she can’t avoid him, especially since he always seems to be rescuing her. Let’s just say that Lexi (and Ashley) get into some crazy predicaments.

Along the way, Lexi begins to see Daisy, Ashley, and Heath in a new light. Maybe her mother thought she was doing her a favor by having her live with her father. While Lexi never thought about staying permanently in Sunrise Cove, she starts to find temporary jobs in her field of expertise. She can’t avoid Heath forever or at least avoid being alone with him. One thing leads to another, and they share kisses. Will they embark on a fling, which will end when Lexi leaves town, or can it lead to something? As always with a Jill Shalvis book, you will laugh at the people and the scenes. Heath’s grandfather is a hoot. Ashley is sneakily trying to get Lexi and Heath together. As Lexi falls flat on her face, it’s Heath and Ashley who help her back up. Will she repay them by deciding to stay in Sunrise Cove?

A fun and entertaining romance from beginning to end, you won’t want to miss THE LOVE FIX.

I enjoyed being back in Sunrise Cove, and while I liked the premise of this story, it overall fell a little flat for me. I'm not sure if that was because it was an early copy that still needed a lot of editing.

Lexi returned to Sunrise Cove at the request of her stepsister Ashley. The catch was to deliver several envelopes a year after their mother's death to help make amends to people their mother wronged. This was such a great idea and there were several deliveries that were more entertaining than others. And of course there was a built in romance with someone from Lexi's past, Heath. He was the executor of her mother's will, and a past crush. But neither main character jumped off the page or were fleshed out enough for the reader to sympathize with them or route for their love story. I enjoyed the side characters more as they added more life to the story.

If you enjoyed prior Sunrise Cove stories, you'll probably still like this one. But I was looking for more in my reading experience. I'd probably rate this 2.75 stars, so rounded up to 3.

Thank you to Avon for the opportunity to read and review.

Life doesn't get any messier than this. Lexi loses her job and might be in some serious trouble. She heads home to Sunrise cove to hide out and help fulfill her mother's final wishes with her stepsister Ashley. Heath is her old high school crush who is currently living next door. In the midst of learning to trust each other and work on their personal hang ups the sisters have to deliver envelopes with personal messages from their mother. This is a sweet summer read with some angst thrown in. Slow in some spots it's a great sitting out of the beach read. Get your cold drink and relax.

The final book in the Sunrise Cove series turned out to be one of my favorites. I can always count on Jill's books to deliver heart, banter, friendship and family ties, but The Love Fix really hit me on an emotional level.

That's probably because I related so strongly to Lexi, whose parents couldn't be bothered to actually parent her, but instead, substituted her younger, "easier" step-siblings and left her to fend for herself. This led her to become hyper-independent, knowing bone deep that she could not count on anyone but herself and couldn't risk letting anyone get close to her. She was well-matched by Heath, with an alcoholic father, a mother who died when he was young, and who grew up knowing that he was the only line of defense for his younger brother.

Lexi has so much to work through, not just her anger, but also her feelings toward her step-sister Ashley, whom she loves deeply, but also resents. Lexi's mom, Daisy, chose to clean up her act and actually parent Ashley, after she didn't make that choice for Lexi and Lexi can't help but wonder why she wasn't enough. My heart broke for her. Heath is dealing with his own demons, but nonetheless was so supportive of her. He knew he couldn't push as that would cause her to run. When Lexi finally opens up and accepts her love for both Ashley and Heath, it was like I could actually feel that weight dropping from her shoulders.

I've really enjoyed all of the visits to Sunrise Cove and will be looking forward to whatever Jill writes next. My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.

Lexi Clark is a 29 year old art appraiser who just lost her job thanks to her ex-Dean, who also happened to be her boss. He threw her under the bus and she got fired. When Lexi gets a call from her 23 year old stepsister, Ashley Fontaine begging her to come home to Sunrise Cove to handle their mother Daisy's final wishes, she reluctantly agrees. Lexi was never a fan of her mother especially after she let her father take her away from the only life she knew when they divorced.

Ashley is all happy and sunshine compared to Lexi's dark views of the world. Lexi is not looking forward to seeing Heath Bowman again either. Heath was her childhood nemesis and one-time crush but he broke her heart. Too bad Heath looks even better now!

When Ashley tells Lexi that they need to deliver six envelopes to six different people to right their mother's wrongs, Lexi is cautious but wants to get it over with. Guess who is also involved....Heath since he set up their mother's final wishes.

As Ashley, Lexi and Heath start spending a lot of time together, Lexi starts to realize that being back home isn't so bad but after everything that happened when she was 15, but she is still scared to believe that maybe this is where she really belongs.

During their road trips, Lexi starts to see the type of life she could have living back in Sunrise Cove, especially the trips that are just her and Heath. Now she just has to decide if she is ready to take that leap for the life that she has always longed to have.

I just adored this second chance love story. Lexi was such a lost person and it was heartwarming to see her find something that has been missing in her life for so long. Heath had a lot of skeletons in his closet also but he was a perfect match for Lexi. Together they could both find love. Overall this was a fun story but I'm sad to see the series end.

This was my first Jill Shalvis book and while I didn't totally know what to expect, I ended up liking it more than I thought! In this story, we follow Lexi as she is forced back home for what she thought was a quick trip to help her sister with some thing after their mother's passing. Lexi comes with a lot of baggage (well, honestly every character does) but works through it at her own pace. I really found it hard to relate to her but could empathize with why she is the way she is. I enjoyed the setting and the small town vibes but by the end of the story, I was skimming it ready for the ending.

Thank you for the ARC, NetGalley!

Loved being back in Sunrise Cove. And I love these characters even more. There is so much heart and soul in this wonderful story about learning how to trust and love again. It is also about learning to let go of the past and embrace what is happening in the present in order to look forward to the future.
My emotions were right there at the surface while Lexi tried to navigate being back in Sunrise Cove with her step sister Ashley, and Heath, the devastatingly handsome yet infuriating man she finds herself falling for even if she never saw that coming given their past. Heath’s grandfather, his brother Cole, and sister in law Misty are all awesome side characters and I enjoyed the scenes with them. His little nephew Matty steals the scenes he is in! Such a little cutie who is a parrot!
I really enjoyed this book! Filled my heart up! It shows that it is never too late to fill your heart and life with love and found family!
