Beautiful and delicious looking picture.
This book is definitely not for beginning bakers!
A somewhat confident middle ground baker would find this book very useful!
No recipes that are low on the sugar but this is a dessert cookbook.
Nice sections. Banana pudding fans out there are going to love the fact there is a whole section to dressing up Banana pudding!
Tips and tricks in the back of the book are well written and useful.

The Magnolia Bakery Handbook of Icebox Desserts includes 100 recipes for icebox cakes, icebox pies, cheesecakes, icebox bars, banana pudding, and puddings. The cookbook begins with baking tips as well as ingredients and tools to have on hand, which can be useful. Next are the recipes. Every recipe begins with a brief introduction and includes an ingredient list, numbered directions, and a picture. I do like that the recipes include a picture, but I do wish the recipes listed the prep and total times because I have not made any icebox desserts before, so I have no idea how long it would take to make them. You have to read through the directions to figure out the times. That said, the recipes themselves do not seem that hard to follow, and there are numerous recipes I would like to try including the Frozen Key Lime Pie, Banana Foster Cheesecake, Apple Crisp No-Bake Bars, and the Strawberry Shortcake Banana Pudding. Overall, the cookbook is great for those who enjoy no-bake and low-bake desserts.

This book has a really good look to it, it is what I would expect from something with Magnolia branding.

The recipes looks delicious, and Bobbie Lloyd is clearly passionate about the icebox desserts (and the memories she shares with many of them) in this book. I can't wait to make not only some of the base and sauce recipes within these pages, but the full desserts too. I appreciated that it isn't all the same recipes you usually see for this type of dessert menu, many were items I haven't seen before and there were a few that stuck out as truly innovative.

Thank you for this ARC!

Desserts are my weakness and these recipes are exceptional. I have bookmarked almost every recipe to try and make it. I’ve never heard or seen anything about icebox cakes and now I am interested to try them. But cheesecakes are my weakness and currently trying to find a delicious recipe, now I have a few to try and recreate.

I am SO excited to try these recipes. I actually just ate at magnolia bakery for the first time the other day and tried their banana pudding, so this couldn’t have come at a better time! The recipes all look amazing, the pictures of each item are fantastic, and the instructions are easy to follow. The book even explains a lot of the instructions it provides more in depth at the beginning which would be incredibly helpful for someone that is less experienced in the kitchen!

I wanted every (non-banana)recipe in this book! So many perfect, easy and elegant desserts! Some day I will make it to the bakery in NYC , but until then, I am thankful for the cookbooks! 4 April birthday celebrations will be served with one of these delicious pies and cakes!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

If you love no-bake desserts, this book is an absolute gem! One of my favorite things about this book is the stunning photography. I can't wait to add it to my personal collection!

Let's just start off with my favorite part of this cookbook: unless I missed something, there are pictures of each and every completed recipe! This is such a selling feature for me when it comes to cookbooks; I want to know what it's supposed to look like at the end. Beyond that, this cookbook is set up in a very user friendly way. There are intros on common ingredients and tools, and step by step instructions that could be handled by most people. Back to the pictures: everything looked so good and made me hungry.

Thanks to William Morrow and NetGalley for an eARC of this cookbook for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for a digital uncorrected proof of this title. Cookbooks are one of my favorite non-fiction genres and I always read them from cover-to-cover. As an experienced dessert maker I feel quite confident tackling any new recipe. Magnolia Bakery Handbook Vol. 2 Icebox Desserts will not disappoint as a plethora of nostalgic favorites and several fresh new takes on icebox (what we used to call a refrigerator) desserts abound. I am always thrilled to learn something new; the Baking Tips and techniques section of this cookbook was truly informative. I now view the weight and measuring of ingredients in a totally new light. Ingredients as far as quality and specific brands are also discussed. This is definitely an important section to include for the home cook so that the iconic flavors of Magnolia Bakery can be recreated at home.

Stunning, full color photos accompany each recipe.

This cookbook's table of contents divides desserts among 6 categories:

Icebox Cakes
Icebox Pies,
Cheesecake (baked in advance, but then chilled for serving)
Icebox bars
Banana pudding and variations of the original famous recipe
Base recipes feature components that are baked but can be prepared ahead of time for later use.

Each dessert section contains many useful tips specific to that type of dessert.

While there are several fruit based desserts, chocolate, peanut butter, and banana lovers will rejoice as many of the recipes feature 1, 2 or 3 of these ingredients as recipe ingredients.

Many of the recipes can be prepared in advance which is so helpful entertaining and busy schedules.

Delicious desserts to beat the heat or whenever you want to skip the oven. Don't delay, clean out your fridge today so you have room to house these luscious treats.

**this uncorrected proof did not contain an index and I assume that it will be forthcoming in the finished edition.

The Magnolia Bakery Handbook of Icebox Deserts if full of recipes I want to try. I love that there are pictures that accompany the recipes, and that there are options to make the components from scratch or to substitute with store bough products like Oreo cookies or Nila wafers. I am especially interested in the cheesecake recipes - the German Chocolate cheesecake looks amazing! Also, I never expected an entire chapter on one of my favorites - banana puddings. I’d recommend this book to anyone interested in icebox treats.

A great guide for bakers of any level! The newest Magnolia cookbook is a nice addition to every library's cook book collection. The Magnolia name offers some weight here, as the recipes included aren't necessarily new or inventive. However, having all these great classics together with new favorites makes it aa nice offering for our patrons.
I appreciate the ARC

I'm a sucker for icebox desserts, but this cookbook from Magnolia Bakery is next level delicious. It will be hard not to spend the summer making every single one.

The latest book from New York City's famous Magnolia Bakery is a great follow-up to the already existing cookbooks from the popular spot. These recipes have something for everyone and are updated to today's tastes and trends. I especially cannot wait to try the S'mores Ice Box Cake or the Deep-Dish Peanut Butter Cup Icebox Pie, which looks like heaven on a plate to me. The photography really helps to sell the recipe and whets the appetite. The headnotes are chapter introductions are well-written and I appreciate that some of the recipe headnotes are on the shorter side, allowing the reader to jump right into the best part of reading or owning a cookbook: making the recipe! The step-by-step instructions are clear and the skills that need further explanation are well-done. I never thought I would need a recipe for Key Lime Cheesecake, but after seeing it in this book, I think I may just have to try it.
