Thank you to NetGalley for the advance review copy in return for an honest review. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. A fun thriller with a side of ya romance ! Maybe a little too twisty for me though!

Thank you for the opportunity to read this arc.

I liked the book well enough. Was it my favorite? No. I kept having to remind myself that it is a YA book. The characters were definitely immature and they got on my nerves at times. The story was a bit slow. Overall it was good but not great.

If you read my review for Sloan Harlow’s debut book, Everything we Never Said, I could just duplicate the review for Harlow’s second book All We Lost Is Everything.. This book is about betrayal, loss and so many secrets. Who is everyone protecting, themselves or the ones they love? River has no one to turn to because eventually every person she is close to is caught in a lie.

This is a YA book with hot, steamy sex. I am not a young adult. Again, as in her other book I was ready to give up, but was so happy I didn’t. The twists and turns in this book are crazy, they kept me up all night reading, needing to know what was going to happen next.

Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Group Penguin Young Readers Group l GP Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. If you are a young adult you will love this book, if you like mysteries and can tolerate explicit sex scenes you will also like it.

Thank you to NetGalley, and Penguin Young Readers Group for the opportunity to read this e-arch. Unfortunately I DNF at 30% mark. I couldn’t connect with the characters or the storyline.

All We Lost Was Everything by Sloan Harlow is the story of a girl named River Santos whose father died in a house fire where she lost everything, and then she receives two million dollars in her GoFundMe account. Who sent the money and why? After graduating high school, River is living with her aunt, working at a cafe, and spending her free time with her best friend Tawny whose mother is never home. Sloan’s mother is absent, as she wandered off for a hike to find herself per usual but this time never returned. While Sloan’s boyfriend dumped her right before the fire, he’s back in town on a break from college and trying to get back in her life. However, Logan, the mysterious boy who works at the cafe alongside Tawny and Sloan, is finally starting to pay some attention to her after ignoring her since he started working. As Sloan puts together the pieces of the death of her father, missing mother, romantic life, and future plans, what will she discover?

I enjoyed reading this book. At times, the characters were a bit flat, and I felt the beginning of the story moved a bit slowly. However, as the mystery picked up, I was drawn into the story. I would recommend it for older teens/younger adults as I struggled to relate to the main character.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for access to an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I liked this book *ALMOST* as much as I liked "Everything We Never Said." This book carried over a lot of the things I liked from the other book- suspense, mystery, and romance. Although I will say the romance in this book was a lot heavier than I had anticipated, I enjoyed it. It added to the mystery of the book and had be suspicious of every character that we met. And I still never saw the ending coming- some things were predictable, but there were way more plot twists. This book was fast paced and very enjoyable. I don't know what else to say other than you need to read this book if you like suspense/thrillers! Given the content and themes I'd recommend this book for ages 16+. I can't wait to see what Sloan Harlow writes next! #NetGalley #NetGalleyARC #ARC

The plot on this one is really slow moving but it still kept my interest the entire time. I was hoping for something good to happen and it just kept being loss, loss, loss.. which I guess I should have known, given the title! I still enjoyed this one enough! I liked our MC’s and the side characters were interesting and the twist was really good!

I really enjoyed this book and I will say that I did not see the exact twist coming. Thrillers are not my usual read but I found this one to be fun and engaging. I liked the characters and the story line along with them. I enjoyed Sloan's style of writing and I thought she did the multiple POV well and expressed her characters clearly.

River Santos is struggling. Her boyfriend, that she thought was her future, broke up with her. Her mom has been missing for months. Her dad has died in a house fire that destroyed everything she had left. She only has two people she can turn to, her aunt and her best friend. She goes to work at her diner job and tries to pretend she’s okay. She takes a chance to find some happiness and begins a relationship with her coworker, Logan. Everything finally starts to swing River’s way, until it doesn’t. This book had a slow build up but not so slow that I felt it was dragging. Once things start to fall apart again for River, the twists and turns come fast and I did not want to put it down. Thank you NetGalley and Peguin Group for this eARC.

So many twists. 😮

If you've read Harlow before, you'll know exactly what you're getting yourself into with this book. If you haven't, hold on! I sometimes struggle with YA books but really enjoyed this one. Was it all believable?! Eh, probably not. Did I get sucked into the story? Absolutely. Will I be picking up more of her books?! 💯

Thanks, Netgalley for the ARC of this book!

The first half of this book is not good at all. It seems very random and weirdly pieced together, and the romance between Logan and River makes no sense. In one paragraph she's talking about how she's still in love with Nolan but then one paragraph later she's talking about how long she's been in love with Logan. The second half is better, but honestly, the best part of the book was that Tigery ended up with a home.

River’s world turns upside down when her dad dies in a house fire—and her mom disappears without a word. While trying to make sense of the mess her life has become, she starts working at a local diner... and that’s where she meets Logan.

Logan’s the classic bad boy with a quiet side and some pain of his own. He’s been through loss too, and the two connect fast. River finds comfort in him, even when things around her keep falling apart. Her best friend Tawny has her back no matter what, and just when she thinks things can’t get more complicated, her rich ex-boyfriend Noah—who dumped her right before the fire—shows up again.

YA thriller/romance that is a quick read. The ending seemed too far fetched for me, but...

Many thanks to NetGalley, Sloan Harlow and Penguin Young Readers Group for the opportunity to read All We Lost Was Everything.

An interesting YA romantic thriller with some interesting and sad twists and turns. This dragged a bit at the end for me, but I was invested in finding out the true story at the end.

i grabbed this book thinking it was a mystery/thriller first with a romantic subplot so i was very surprised when it read more like a romance with ... well, i hesitate to say there was a mystery. i'll be totally honest, it's been four months since i last tried to read this book so i don't remember much. i just remember the FMC having a lot of money and the mystery was who gave it to her? which was not a compelling enough mystery to keep me reading unfortunately and ultimately i ended up dnfing at 33%

three stars because the writing was good and if it were a Romance Novel i would maybe have been able to keep going, but i just expected a mystery and thriller and it was not delivering on that front

"For the ones that fell off the summit, looked up from the bottom, and started climbing again anyway." - Sloan Harlow

I am offering my honest opinion voluntarily.

This book was world-shattering; everything that could have gone wrong did. There were so many turns, family issues, a love triangle type of situation, murder, and blackmail, sheesh! River Santos has a story to rival all stories, with a recovering alcoholic father whom she adores and a mentally disturbed mother with a tragic past, a boyfriend who dumped her without explanation, a best friend with ulterior motives, and a broody coworker turned lover with harmful secrets.

Sloan wrote an amazing dark romantic thriller, and the ending....OMG! There is so much I want to say...I am going to spoil it....GO GET THE BOOK!!

i’m sorry but i couldn’t stand the writing, or the characters, or the plot.

really it was all just trashy. and not trashy like a reality tv show you want to binge.

i’m guessing this just wasn’t my cup of tea, but usually i love thriller/romance books.

this just wasn’t it.

it all seemed so surface value and even tho this book was supposed to be tragic and dripping in grief, i just couldn’t connect.
the emotions didn’t feel real to me.

i would’ve rather spent my time studying for the test i have coming up then have wasted it on this 🫤😀

I was so exited to get the ARC for Sloan's second book. I loved her first one and was crossing my fingers that was just as good.... Spoiler, it was fantastic.

A young woman loses her dad in a house fire, where she almost dies as well. Someone pulls her out, but she barely remembers anything... Her mom is missing (which isn't unusual) until it turns it months..

Everyone in her life is keeping things from her.. mom, dad, ex boyfriend, best friend, new mysterious and handsome coworker... They all have secrets that could wreck their relationship with her, some are dangerous.

I was completely wrecked when I finally out everything together. So many lies and missing information from people that claim to love her.. I did however appreciate how she finally put herself first at the end...

Thank you netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

For me, this novel did not work very well. The story is trying to blend together romance with thriller/suspense. Unfortunately, the first half of the novel read as a romance with characters who had secrets, which is often the case in a romance. There was no sense of suspense or danger in the novel until around halfway through, where a small hint of the mystery arrived. The second half of the novel was focused on this mystery, which resulted in the romantic relationship disappearing for most of the second half. The mystery itself felt flat, making the second half of the book lack impact.

This is another book labeled YA that is too graphic for many bookworm high school students who want to read more edgy books but are not quite ready to be exposed to quite so much. Aside from that issue, this read captured me while I was reading it, but after a few days, I honestly don’t remember much about it. It was a quick read with some interesting twists in River’s family and friend life that were plotted well, a couple backstories that were important but lacked the depth needed, and a level of “really?” that just left me happy I was finished.

Thank you to Penguin Young Readers Group, G.P. Putnam's Sons Books for Young Readers, Netgalley, and the author for early access to this novel.

Solid YA thriller, although I was surprised by the sex scene halfway through! I loved our main character, and was all-in on the mystery unfolding. I didn't see it coming, and was proud of the character growth as things got more convoluted and confusing for River. Definitely a high school YA book!
