"I’m ninety-nine percent sure you have no credentials at all, and you won your stethoscope at the Duck Pond game."
Real talk super quick, I will eat up literally anything Brynne gives us. But this? THIS. I devoured this in one sitting. I couldn't put it down.
"Killing is like, 'Someone is dead because of me, but maybe it's an oops-'"
"I highly doubt this is an 'oops."
"-But murder is like, 'I totally meant to do that."
"Did you mean to do it?"
"That's not the point."
Rose is the perfect addition to our little killer trio, the sticker b*tch crew if you will. She's funny and chaotic and so much fun. She gives Fionn a run for his money and I loved every second. She is the epitome of ✨ I'm just a girl ✨ and I love her for it. Consequences? Who is she? We don't know her 🤷🏼♀️
Every day, little by little, it gets worse. Her infectious smile. Her uninhibited laugh. Her wild, unpredictable nature, as though she's not bound by the same rules as everyone else. She's so f*cking beautiful it sometimes hurts just to look at her.
Fionn, this man, this cross fit loving, crochet club attending, raccoon hating man. The way he's so down bad for Rose from moment one had me on my knees. Your honor, I am obsessed
"Where's the comms device? Walkie-talkie? Riot gear? Lasers? Surely you brought lasers, right? You're not expecting we can take down an assassin raccoon with nothing more than a towel, are you?"
AND BARBARA. Ugh star of the mother effin show. It's no secret raccoons are my favorite, so she felt like a love letter from Brynne straight to me 🥹
There's so much of this book I wasn't sure about based on the trigger warnings but I was pleasantly surprised about all of them. Cotton candy, clowns, sexy clowns?? I'm kind of obsessed
"It's okay to love your darkness and still love yourself. It doesn't make you a bad person. It makes you a whole one."
If you loved Butcher and Blackbird, and Leather and Lark, go read Scythe and Sparrow, Rose and Fionn are waiting 👀

After LOVING the first book in the series and feeling kind of meh about book 2, I was excited to read Scythe & Sparrow. The premise of this book made me so excited and I honestly was looking forward to this book in the series the most. Sadly I could not connect with the characters or the storyline.

Rose & Fionn were perfection. I loved their “meet cute” and friendship turned lovers story. The angst was top tier and the banter was even better.
Brynn Weaver is a master at the dark rom com and I always find myself kicking my feet and giggling (and sometimes gagging) with her quick quips and alternative food choices. Iykyk.

This was unfortunately my least favorite in the trilogy. I thought Fionn's character was incredible enduring, but he didn't give as much rough and tough as the other boys, which is probably a good thing LOL. I like Rose so much and thought she was a great balance for them both. While it wasn't my favorite it's still a great read and would highly recommend this trilogy to all dark romance lovers! This is a 3.5/5 for me!

Does this trilogy actually have to end?! 😭😭😭 I guess if it does have to then it definitely went out with a ✨bang✨ I am utterly obsessed with Rose. She actually might be one of my fave FMCs. Fionn is also such a lovable teddy bear doctor, even though he likes to act all tough. They help each other through some pretty messed up stuff and still manage to keep the banter at 💯💯. I loved the callbacks to other couples from B&B and L&L. The Kane brothers might just simply be the best book boyfriends. However, the real bad asses are obviiiii Sloane, Lark and Rose. We also STAN Barbara (iykyk). This trilogy will forever have a special place in my heart and feckin’ read it if you haven’t

Loved this book.
It felt like Brynne was back with the comedy & humour from the first book in the series.
I really liked both characters and the comedic moments scattered throughout some of the darker moments to lighten the mood.

I have really enjoyed the Ruinous Trilogy starting with Butcher & Blackbird and I’ve devoured each book. Scythe & Sparrow was gripping conclusion to the Ruinous Love trilogy, balancing dark romance with emotional depth. Fionn and Rose’s dynamic is compelling—his quiet intensity contrasts beautifully with her fierce, justice-driven nature. The slow-burn tension and moral complexity kept me hooked, and the character growth and atmospheric writing made for a satisfying read. I really enjoyed Rose and Fionn’s story and how the trilogy wrapped up. Special shout out to Barbara, the most chaotic (and strangely lovable) trash panda in fiction. I also loved getting to see so much of the characters from the previous two books. Rowan and Sloane are still my favorite 🫠

Just as the first 2 in the series, Scythe & Sparrow did not disappoint! Brynne Weaver is queen of dark & dirty, I will forever read her work!

I loved this book.
I love this series.
I enjoyed this one! It was fun, and funny, and quirky. Like all of the books have been.
I would have loved to see more circus life, but the smut was fun. And the banter, so good!

I was super excited for this book. I have been an ARC reader for Brynne since Butcher and love this series. While this wasn't my favorite book of the series, I still really enjoyed it!

No one is more upset about this than me, I wish I could jive with this series after B&B but alas I cannot. I love Brynne’s work and I love seeing all the success she has gotten recently, but these last two books just weren’t for me.

Oh how sad I am to see this series end! While I didn’t quite feel the same magic with Rose and Fionn as I did with the others, I still enjoyed the ride! Brynne’s strange humor is so magical to me and it once again shines in this book (especially in Barbara). The push and pull between the characters is delicious as always until they find their HEA, with plenty of excitement along the way. I am so obsessed with Brynne’s writing style and I can’t wait to see what craziness she has in store for us in the future!

Absolutely amazing!! Brynne Weaver does it again! I can’t believe this trilogy is over. And the Rowan epilogue?! Perfection!!!

VERY solid finale to the Ruinous Love trilogy!! Rose and Fionn are such an addictive pairing right from the start and I was riveted watching their story unfold. I especially loved the angst that found its way into this installment in particular. Brynne Weaver is officially an auto-buy author that I cannot recommend enough for fans of spicy rom coms looking to break into dark romance, as well as readers like me who already LOVE the dark romance genre, but need something different!!

MY FAVORITE OF THE SERIES! I was so hooked! Fionn and Rose are just so perfect for each other. THIS BOOK! Scythe & Sparrow closed out the Ruinous Love trilogy with a bang, and I couldn't get enough. I can't wait for the audiobook, so I can experience it that way. It really is so good! There’s so much tension and banter! 🤭 And the spice de 👏🏽 li 👏🏽 vered 👏🏽!
Rose is a badass bitch, and I love her. I take no criticism when it comes to her. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I cannot tell you how much I love these stories! Brynne is the only author I know who can just nail the dark comedy! I absolutely loved Rose, she is so crazy, and her and Flynn together?? 🔥🔥
I can’t wait to see what Brynne comes up with for her next book!!
If you like dark romance, murdery main characters, spice and humor all in the same book, then these are the books for you! Definitely 5 stars!!

The flow of the story of the timeline for Scythe & Sparrow wasn't working for me. It felt all over the place even though I know most of it took place during Butcher & Blackbird, and Leather & Lark's timeline. I just felt taken out of the story too much. It dragged on for me in quite a few places and I didn't feel the connection between our MC's Rose and Fionn. This was not was what I expected for their story. I'm still looking forward to more Brynne like The Poison Pastry Bakery (hopefully soon).

Five stars for Barbara.
As with Brynne’s other books, this was an absolutely wild ride, and might be my second favorite of the series. I absolutely loved Rose and Fionn’s dynamic and the push and pull of their relationship. It had a very “Will they, won’t they” vibe all the way until the end. I also loved how the timelines of the three books cross.
Overall if you’re looking for something dark and funny, definitely check this out.

This book was the perfect conclusion to such an amazing, gripping series! I fell so deeply for all the characters, and didn't want to let them go, but it was such an incredible journey and perfect ending! Loved it so much!

Brynne Weaver has DONE IT AGAINNN.
Honestly, I cant stop being obsessed with everything she writes. Its funny. engaging and just a little uncomfortable that it makes reading such a freaking thrill!!!
