A wonderful book about the history of NASCAR. From the early times to now. What I enjoyed was the true old stories about the racers, the cars, and just all of the little things that made the sport. I had heard of some of the names, but not all. I had never heard of Alexis Leras and what she did for the sport, becoming the first and only PR director for the sport, and how she helped grow the sport in popularity. Of course, I enjoyed reading about the races and fights that I remembered from the seventies, and all of the racers that I used to watch. For me, the sport has just changed so much, so this was a good read about the past, and it still talked about the future.

I really enjoyed reading this book on NASCAR stars who were not afraid to do something different, break barriers, or at challenge the old ways and standards of acing. This covers the entire seven decade of the sport, and that will help the reader learn the history of NASCAR as well as provide interesting stories about these “mavericks”.

A great coffee table book full of amazing pictures and history for your NASCAR-loving friends. I enjoyed going through the book and appreciated the organization by era.

I'm a huge sports nerd and love anything that will teach me something new. Learning about Alexis Leras was incredible and all she did for the male-dominated sport.

The way the book showcases individuals along with the sport was well done.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
