Just like The Perfect Marriage, this book kept me on my toes. I was worried it would feel repetitive, but even with the ending we got in the end the stories were as different as they could be and even tied up a few loose ends. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Sarah Morgan next.

Absolute perfection in every form. The characters were all expertly crafted and just when you think you have it figured out, it twists again

I found The Perfect Marriage before the booktok craze but that doesn’t stop me from being a huge Jeneva fan and devouring all of her reads

I cannot wait for the next one

This sequel is absolute chaos—in the best way possible. Jeneva Rose throws readers right back into Sarah Morgan’s savage world, and it’s even better than the first. Twisty, dramatic, and gloriously unhinged, it delivers razor-sharp dialogue, petty revenge, and jaw-dropping reveals that had me gasping more than once. Sarah is smarter and meaner, and Bob? He never stood a chance. Over-the-top? Definitely. Addictive? Completely. It’s a wild ride of courtroom games, murder, and dark humor that I couldn’t put down. Bring on book three—I need more.

Thank you to Netgalley for both the eARC and the ALC!

This was not my favorite book of this author. I did not really feel there was much drama and the characters were a bit confusing.

4.5/5 stars, rounded up

Thank you Blackstone Publishing for the advanced reading copy!

This is soooo close to being first 5⭐️ of the year… some twists were predictable and that just stops me from giving it 5/5. However!!! This was a great sequel. I had forgotten a lot from THE PERFECT MARRIAGE which had me a bit confused at first, but I easily fell back into the story. I should probably be concerned with my loyalty for Sarah Morgan -- she's sooo problematic and toxic but I love her??? A bad-b, take-no-prisoners MC is sooo fun and she fits that bill for sure.

This is Jeneva Rose at her best!! The writing is simple enough that it’s easy to tear through the story, and the plot is so complex it’ll keep you hooked the entire time. Like I said, a few of the twists I guessed, but for the most part this one had me totally floored. I was entertained from start to finish, that much is for sure.

This also reminded me that I haven’t yet read HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE, so now I’m super excited for that!

I would keep reading more and more and more about Sarah Morgan's twisted mind, and it sounds like I might just get my wish... !!!!

I adored The Perfect Marriage, even with the spoilers I was aware of, it was a fantastic read so when I saw The Perfect Divorce was being released, I knew I NEEDED it! The Perfect Divorce is a great follow up! There is suspense, constant questioning of "who done it", and great throwbacks to the first book. This one you won't want to put down!

Jeneva Rose returns following The Perfect Marriage with her highly anticipated follow-up novel, THE PERFECT DIVORCE (Perfect#2). A wildly entertaining, razor-sharp cat-and-mouse thriller that will have you frantically turning the pages into the wee hours of the morning.

Rose's best yet. She ups her game. Yes, even better than The Perfect Marriage.

About...

Sarah Morgan is a high-powered killer attorney, and she defended her husband, Adam, against the charge of murdering his mistress in The Perfect Marriage.

In THE PERFECT DIVORCE, Sarah is married to Bob. They have been together for twelve years, but have been married for just over a year.

Sarah knew when she married Bob, she would divorce him one day, because men are like lawyers. They can't be trusted. She would know because she is one, and so is he.

One time cheating. He didn't mean anything. Sure, that is what they all say. He is like the rest of them.

She wants a divorce and tries to remain civil due to their nine-year-old daughter. Bob cheated on their family. Motherhood changed her. Bob can forget custody of Summer.

Till death do us part. Yours. Not Mine.

However, during the separation, new DNA evidence is uncovered in the case against Adam, suggesting that he might have been innocent. This forces the police to reopen the investigation, putting Sarah right back in the spotlight.

Adam Morgan, a literary author, had been having an affair with the victim. The murder of Kelly Summers and her unborn child. He was defended by his wife, Sarah, the high-profile DC attorney, but was found guilty and ultimately received a death sentence a year earlier.

Former deputy (now Sheriff) Marcus Hudson is determined to find the truth. Was Adam innocent? Things start happening. The woman Bob slept with goes missing.

We also have the former Sheriff Ryan Stevens. How was he involved in the Kelly Summers case? The plot thickens...

Let the sinister power-play games begin... and there is the past that may haunt them both.

My thoughts...

WOW! THE PERFECT DIVORCE is a wild roller coaster ride, and there is much going on, so pay attention. The above is only a hint of all the drama about to unfold, and I was in for every minute.

There are several threads in addition to the ones involving Sarah, Bob, and Allen.
~Former Sheriff Ryan Stevens' investigation
~Kelly Summers reinvestigation
~Stacy Howard's disappearance

Plus more...

The story, told from the perspectives of Sarah, Bob, Sheriff Hudson, Stacy, and Unknown, is an action-packed, wickedly dangerous, and twisty game of cat and mouse with teaser texts sprinkled throughout. But what sets it apart is the dark humor, keeping you entertained and engaged. From scheming, lies, and a mastermind. Good vs. evil.

Jeneva knows how to hook, grip, twist, and keep you addicted to this binge-worthy dark psychological page-turner thriller. She keeps the tension, suspense, and psychological games high to keep the audience on the edge of their seat. Yes, goal achieved!

THE PERFECT DIVORCE is like an intense game of chess. Who will make the first move?

Like a cat-and-mouse story, a checkmate thriller involves a pursuit or game of wits in which one character tries to outsmart or capture another. The "cat" is often the antagonist, attempting to control the situation, while the "mouse" is the protagonist, trying to evade capture or manipulation. The thrill comes from the tension of near-capture, repeated escapes, and the intellectual sparring between the two characters.

Who is the cat, and who is the mouse?

Cleverly done. Get this gem, better than Gone Girl —on your list NOW, whether or not you have read The Perfect Marriage. But if you haven't, you will when you finish to learn more about tantalizing evilish Sarah Morgan.

The author gives new meaning to the world of divorce, and if you're like me, you're anxiously awaiting #3. How fast can you write —a new mother-to-be? We cannot get enough of Sarah Morgan's tantalizing story!

Recs...

For fans of the series and those who enjoy super twisty psychological and domestic thrillers, crime thrillers, and cop procedurals, such as Jeneva Rose. Also, for fans of authors Kaira Rouda, Victoria Helen Stone, Jennifer Hillier, and Hank Phillippi Ryan.

Jeneva Rose never fails. I can’t turn the pages fast enough. Question everything and everyone. Another great read!

The Perfect Divorce was a great addition to Jeneva Rose’s catalogue of books. This book gave us a peek into Sarah Morgan’s life 10 years later and boy has she not changed at all? She is still up to her antics and constantly changing the narrative to put her in a positive light. This book was a great sequel and it is good to know that we are not finished with the life of Sarah Morgan.

This is a sequel and if you are expecting a great story, I think you will be a bit disappointed. In fact, I’m sorry I picked it up after all.

Here’s a quote: “Any lawyer worth their salt knows sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all, and the second-best thing to say is a lie.”

Sums up the morals and ethics of most of those characters in the story.

It started out as a 4 when I thought things might go differently (and I assume anyone reading this will have read the first installment) but all the twists and craziness didn’t save it from the last part getting a solid 2 stars. I liked the short chapters. Didn’t like many of the characters.

There were way too many points of view and what I felt were unnecessary side plots — two women missing and the Stevens situation. Just complicated the narrative without adding any real value since we all know what happened in the first book. Sarah is exactly the same person as before and hasn’t changed a bit despite the years and getting married again, this time to Bob Miller. All the games and the distrust and the cat and mouse didn’t really grab me this time and by the time the second half of the story came around, I had already guess what was going on, who was going to do what, and how it was all going to end. Bummer. I won’t bother with a third in this series if there is one. Too predictable now.

I was able to listen to the audio book while also following along in the e-book ARC provided by the publisher. There was a full cast of voice actors for this book, in fact 6 different men and women. Everyone did a great job except I do not care for the sound of the voice of whomever performed the character of Stacy Howard. I had to fast forward thru those and read the book instead. In any event, the production did help elevate my experience though they couldn’t change the words or the plot!

This was okay. I felt like it was a little slow and maybe a bit confusing. I did like the ending and how it all tied together.

Jeneva Rose offers a thrilling sequel to The Perfect Marriage! The story takes place 11 years after Sarah's ex-husband is deemed guilty of the murder of Kelly Summers. Sarah is now remarried, to Bob (!), but Bob has wronged Sarah, and she now has to make him pay...just like she did Adam. I found this sequel to be both fun and dramatic - Sarah is so wild, but you want to keep reading to see what she does next. The ending has been shocking,g and I am excited for the third book! Thank you for the e-arc!

Jeneva Rose delivers another knockout with this sequel, matching the electric intensity of its predecessor. Brimming with juicy betrayal, jaw-dropping twists, and deliciously crafted revenge, this book is impossible to put down. Every page pulses with drama, keeping readers hooked from start to finish.
For fans of Rose’s signature style—sharp, suspenseful, and unapologetically bold—this is a must-read. It’s every bit as addictive as the first, cementing her knack for gripping thrillers. If you love a story that keeps you guessing and delivers on every front, this fantastic read comes highly recommended.

Queen of twists? YES.
Queen of sequels? ABSOLUTELY

Jeneva Rose is quickly becoming one of my favorite thriller authors, not only for her incredible online presence and gaggle of silly geese, but because of her wit and fast paced writing. I will be honest and say that The Perfect Marriage fell flat for me, but The Perfect Divorce gave me everything I needed in a thriller murder mystery:
- A crazy, psychopathic, serial killer, bad ass woman
- A man who thinks he's smart, but really isn't
- A hot man named Alejandro
- Answers to my most burning questions
- And yet, more questions and new theories that will hopefully be answered in the next book (YES I READ THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS)

Life got in the way of my reading time, but otherwise, this would have been a read-in-one-sitting for me.

Holy crap. I really enjoyed The Perfect Marriage but this one was better!! I loved the pacing and since we all know how clever Sarah Morgan is - I couldn’t wait to figure out how she would spin everything to her advantage. And boy did she. I seriously hope that Jeneva continues the series because her character is a real favorite of mines. Talk about always being a step ahead. Sarah is always five steps ahead. It was such an easy and compelling read! I love the multiple POV and short chapters. If you loved The Perfect Marriage then you must read this! If you’ve been wondering if it’s any good. It’s so worth the read in my opinion. Excited to see whatever Sarah is up to next.

Thank you NetGalley for the digital arc and audiobook.

Sarah Morgan is back. It´s been eleven years since attorney Sarah Morgan was defending her husband in a murder case involving his mistress. She has moved on, but just recently found out about her current husbands affair...

When I was accepted to read this arc I was so happy. I really liked the first book in this series " The perfect marriage " so I was excited to continue. As always, Jeneva Rose puts you on a rollercoaster from the start in her books. You think you know what is going on but you really don´t!

I rated this book 3.5 stars.

The saga of The Perfect Divorce had me asking only one question: Will she get away with it? This book had the elements of what I considered to be a very good story. It had murder, attempted murder, setups and kidnappings. Sarah was a lawyer who was married to Nathan. He was accused of murder and she defended him, but she lost. As a result, he was executed. Not long thereafter she married Bob. Together they had a daughter, Summer.

Bob had an affair With Sandy which broke Sarah's trust. She then filed for divorce And eventually got an order of protection. Bob had never laid a hand on her but she said he did. Bob was dead set against the divorce and did everything in his power to make her renege. But she wasn't having it. And then the woman he had an affair with disappeared. At first, the police suspected. Bob but he was later absolved. Sarah was so angry with Bob that she decided to set him up. That's why he was suspected of doing something to the woman he had the affair with. Also, Bob had a hairdresser by the name of Callie, whom he saw regularly every 3 weeks. She too ended up missing and once again he was accused. Her salon had been ransacked and there was a fair amount of blood there. It was assumed she was murdered, or at the very least, harmed and kidnapped. As it turned out, both women were kidnapped and held in the same location.

There had been a murder that had occurred 12 years prior. The murder was unsolved. It turns out, the previous sheriff had had an affair with her, as had Nathan. The previous sheriff had been driven from his job due to his drunkenness. Later, he had gotten drunk and as a result killed a woman, so he was arrested. He was hospitalized as a result of the accident. As it turns out, he had held exculpatory evidence in Nathan's case. That said, Sarah reopened the investigation. Unfortunately, The previous sheriff was assassinated.

Sarah started the Morgan Foundation that was designed to help ex-cons start a new life. Bob had recommended a man by the name of Alejandro and he was accepted. Bob had decided that. Sarah was behind the missing women and he knew that she was the one responsible for the 12-year-old murder. Because he was furious with her about the divorce and all he accused her of, he decided he wanted to do away with her. So he hired Alejandro to kill her.

Although there was a lot going on, I had no trouble keeping up With the plot's twists and turns. And I thought the characters were very believable. I was quite impressed with this book and I would love to read more by this author. I gave it five stars.

This book is just as good as the Perfect Marriage. The murder board that I can create in my head is fantastic. Jeneva knocked it out of the park again!

Twisty, tense, and totally unputdownable. The Perfect Divorce pulls you into Sarah Morgan’s world, a powerful attorney now caught in a vicious divorce, a reopened murder case, and a game of cat and mouse with deadly stakes. Jeneva Rose delivers jaw-dropping twists that keep you guessing until the very last page.
