I just finished reading "The Perfect Divorce" by Jeneva Rose. Many thanks to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the advanced copy in return for an honest review.
First off, I strongly recomment you read the first book in this series "The Perfect Marriage" for a great introduction to the main character of the story, a super confident, super crafty female lawyer named Sarah Morgan. She is a tour de force who refuses to be taken aback by anyone, especially her husband. This time, she is seeking a divorce from her socond husband Bob, who cheated on her, and despite his insistance that it was a one time thing, she refuses to change her mine. But this time she has a daughte, Summer, and she needs to protect her at all costs.
To make matters worse, there is a revelation in the book that the murder that her first husband was convicted of (in the first book) is being reopened because of police malfeascance, and Sarahis nervous because she has secrets of her own that she wants to keep hidden permanently.
So between her husband being a terrible persone, her secrets being threatened, and new revelations about the death of her first husbands mistress, there is alot of suspense and mystery in this book. Certainly enough to keep you turning the pages of this book to find out the truth.
This book was great because is was written by someone who knows when to divulge just enough information to make the story interesting and not frustrating. There was one complaint, and that is that there were a few details and questions left unanswered. But, maybe because there is a third book on the horizon abotu Ms. Sarah Morgan. I so, I am the first in line to read it.
Strongly recommend this book. You wont be disappointed.

Jeneva Rose delivers another gripping and fast-paced thriller in The Perfect Divorce, a sequel that effortlessly builds on the momentum of its predecessor while standing firmly on its own. This installment plunges readers even deeper into a world of murder, betrayal, and razor-sharp twists.

Rose does a masterful job picking up where the first book left off, creating a seamless continuation that expands the storyline without rehashing the past. Her ability to craft a fresh narrative while honoring the original is impressive, offering both new tension and familiar intrigue.

What truly sets this novel apart is Rose’s signature wit. Her sharp, clever prose adds a dynamic edge to the suspense, making even the darkest turns engaging and entertaining. The Perfect Divorce is a testament to Jeneva Rose’s talent for blending thrilling plotlines with smart, nuanced storytelling. She continues to prove why she’s a standout voice in the psychological thriller genre.

The sequel is a fireworks display in comparison to the first book! Sarah is baaaack with a vengeance! This one is a rollercoaster of thrills from start to finish! Just when you think you've cracked the plot, think again! The storyline dives into the shadows with some spine-chilling moments that'll have you gripping your seat for dear life. It's a lightning-fast read packed with unexpected plot twists and surprises. This one outshines the debut book by a mile! Trust me, disappointment is not on the menu!
Thank you for the arc’ NetGalley so glad I was able to read this book ahead of time. I will be buying the physical copy.

This might be my most favorite Jeneva Rose book so far...

The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose picks up 11 years after The Perfect Marriage. Sarah Morgan, now remarried and a mother, files for divorce after discovering her husband Bob’s affair. As their split turns messy, new DNA evidence reopens her ex-husband Adam’s old murder case. When Bob’s mistress goes missing, suspicion falls on both Sarah and Bob, pulling them into a tense game of secrets, betrayal, and suspense.

I LOVED this one!! I read The Perfect Marriage two years ago and really enjoyed that one, but I agree with several of the reviews I’ve seen that people claimed this book was better than the first. My favorite thing about this duology/series is that Jeneva’s twists are so thought out and you can tell she puts a lot of planning into the plot and twists. The number of characters did confuse me at first, and there were characters mentioned that I had forgotten about, so I recommend reading these two books back-to-back or at least close to one another. I’m so glad we got another story from Sarah Morgan’s POV!

The Perfect Divorce
Jeneva Rose

“My client has no interest in reconciling the marriage,”

The sequel to the bestselling thriller The Perfect Marriage; till death do us part. Yours. Not mine.

‘To me trust is like glass. Once you break it, you can’t put it back together - and even if you tried, you’d end up cutting yourself in the process. So, you may as well just throw it away.’

It’s been eleven years since attorney Sarah Morgan defended her husband Adam against the charge of murdering his mistress. Sarah has moved on, starting a family and changing career trajectory. When Sarah finds out Bob (new husband) engaged in a one night stand, she instantly files for divorce. Amid their ugly separation, new DNA evidence is uncovered in the case against Adam, forcing the police to reopen the investigation. When the woman Bob had the one night stand with is reported missing, he and Sarah start to fight dirty and a high stakes game of cat and mouse ensues.

‘You have to pick your battles, and he and I are already at war.’

If you’ve read The Perfect Marriage you know just how cunning and manipulative Sarah is. Everything is so calculated and to be in her crosshairs is paramount to a death sentence.

‘I just need to beat her at her own game, and the only way I’m going go do that is if I accelerate my pace and do what she thinks I’m incapable of. Because if anyone can best Sarah, it’s me.’

A real the truth is stranger than fiction case. Twist after twist and many moving parts. Very easy to binge read. Multiple POV chapters.

‘I respect time more than anything, as it’s our most valuable resource. Money comes and goes, but time only goes. Not a lot of people realize that.’

Thank you so much to for my arc. The Perfect Divorce is out tomorrow, the 15th April!

Plot twist queen is at it again! This book is everything I wanted from a sequel, I have truly nothing bad to say. I loved every second of it, and couldn’t put it down!

I really started to enjoy this book about 50% in, which I did not feel with the first book in this series . I found the plot of this book harder to get into as I did not feel hooked into the drama as easily, maybe because I already knew the characters and had a sense of who was and was not trustworthy and likable. I of course enjoyed Rose’s writing as much as I did in TPM, but the plot didn’t feel as twisty as TPM. I was able to predict the ending fairly easily given the ending of the first book, but I did enjoy the ending in the fact that I wanted to know how everything played out and who we could trust and who we couldn’t. I honestly did not care for the Sheriff’s POV chapters, it felt like more telling than showing related to the investigation. What could be worked better was letting the investigation unfold from the perspectives of Sarah, Bob, and our mystery character, as I found those chapters much more engaging, especially the mystery character. Having the mystery character throw in more hints or red herrings for the reader may have been more engaging than hearing so frequently about the details of the actual investigation. Overall I did enjoy parts of this book, it just could have had used some slight changes to make the reader think a little more about what might happen.

After absolutely loving The Perfect Marriage, I was thrilled when I found out that Jeneva Rose was writing a sequel and even more thrilled when I received an advanced copy of it!

The Perfect Divorce is a perfect continuation of Sarah Morgan’s story. I think knowing what happened in The Perfect Marriage makes this book a little bit more predictable, because you know the type of people that the main characters are but I still loved reading this book. It was a quick, easy read and I could not put it down. I can’t wait to see what is next for Sarah Morgan!

Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I loved “The Perfect Marriage” so I was super excited to read this one. In *The Perfect Divorce*, Jeneva Rose delivers a sharp, gripping, and emotionally charged narrative that will captivate readers from the first page to the last. This contemporary thriller takes the often-stigmatized topic of divorce and spins it into a compelling, high-stakes drama that explores love, betrayal, and the boundaries of trust.

The story follows the tumultuous relationship between a married couple, whose divorce, rather than being a simple legal process, becomes a high-stakes game of cat and mouse. Rose’s prose is sleek, easy to follow, and filled with enough twists to keep readers on the edge of their seats. The characters are expertly drawn—flawed, complex, and fully human.

The plot twists in this novel are nothing short of thrilling. Just when you think you’ve figured out where the story is heading, Rose pulls the rug out from under you with a brilliant twist that leaves you rethinking everything you thought you knew. The unpredictability of the storyline makes this book nearly impossible to put down, and the clever way the author weaves in subtle foreshadowing ensures that when the surprises arrive, they feel earned and satisfying.

While the story itself is a rollercoaster of suspense, it’s Rose’s ability to capture the psychological depth of her characters that truly sets *The Perfect Divorce* apart. Whether you’re familiar with the pain of a breakup or not, you’ll find yourself fully invested in the fates of the characters and their emotional journeys. It’s a novel that speaks to anyone who has ever questioned what happens when a relationship breaks down, or what lengths people might go to in the pursuit of freedom—or revenge.

In short, *The Perfect Divorce* is a thrilling, emotional ride that’s well worth the read. Jeneva Rose has crafted a novel that’s as intelligent as it is entertaining, and it will undoubtedly keep you hooked until the very last page. If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers with a deep emotional core, this book is an absolute must-read.

Sarah Morgan is back.

This time she is married to Bob Miller with a young daughter. She has recently caught him cheating and has filed for a divorce. He has not been agreeing to the divorce in their few meetings.

Soon, the woman he cheated with goes missing with incriminating texts for Bob. Then the woman who cuts his hair goes missing -- right after his late-night appointment with her. A little too coincidental, huh?

I have to admit that it was fun to see Bob start to lose it and him to think he had the upper hand with Sarah.

There is a lot going on in this book. Too much. I really didn't get the connection of the ex-sheriff's case and what it had to do with this story. Plus, this whole thing is so far-fetched. You really need to suspend disbelief at the end.

Thank you to Blackstone Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Jeneva does it again! Jenevas books always keep me captivated and on the edge of my seat. There's always a gripping twist I didn't see coming-no matter how hard I tried to guess.
I can't wait to be able to share her latest work with my patrons at the library. They are going to love this, just as much as I do.

Eleven years ago, we witnessed the investigation of Adam Morgan and the murder of his mistress. Sarah, big-time attorney and his wife at the time, has since moved on from Adam, starting a family of her own with Bob. It would seem history does tend to repeat itself, when Sarah discovers Bob cheated on her. With no time for that BS again, she files for divorce. As if that wasn’t stressful enough, new information comes to light regarding DNA that was omitted from Adam’s case. And what’s worse? The woman Bob slept with has suddenly gone missing. Prince William County PD and Sarah Morgan find themselves locked into yet another case together, whether they like it or not.

This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year! I love Jeneva Rose, and The Perfect Marriage was one of the books that got me back into reading. I was ecstatic to see the continuation of this story. There were twists and turns around every corner. Despite the multiple plots within the story, Jeneva was able to tie them all back together with her brilliant mind. There were dashes of comedy, her signature humor of course. I had a feeling how it could round out, but there were still a few things that left my jaw on the floor. This was a fun, quick read and I’m glad to hear this story may not be over just yet 👀

A sequel that is as good as the first book. Sarah is back again and as manipulative as ever. Thus book picks up right where the first one ends and is fully of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge. I liked the introduction of new characters and twists to the plot that keep me guessing till the end. I may like this more than the original.

Jeneva did it again!! I've been dying to read this one. Thank you, NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing, for the ARC copy. Jeneva is one of my all-time favorite authors, and The Perfect Divorce proves exactly why. Just when I thought I had it all figured out—bam! That twist hit me like a truck. No one delivers jaw-dropping turns quite like Jeneva. The pacing was spot on, the tension kept building, and every chapter had me saying “just one more.” If you're into thrillers that mess with your head in the best way, this one’s a must-read.

"The Perfect Divorce” by Jeneva Rose was a fun ride! Needless to say, you should definitely read “The Perfect Marriage” before reading this one. There will be major spoilers otherwise.

In "The Perfect Divorce", Sarah Morgan is back and as manipulative as ever. Without giving too much away, the story takes place eleven years after Sarah Morgan defended her husband, Adam, for murdering his mistress. She has since moved on, remarried, had a daughter, and continues to have a successful career, but a new betrayal and old secrets come to light, and in true Jeneva Rose fashion, chaos ensues. It’s told from multiple POVs, which kept me reading and fully immersed in the story. I really enjoyed that the chapters were short, engaging, and highly entertaining. Being back in this world, catching up with old characters was so fun! Jeneva Rose always manages to pack in ridiculously exciting twists and turns.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for this ARC.
