Suspense filled with unexpected twists and turns revealed throughout entirety of the book (not just the end)! Easily a 5 star read for me!

This is a thriller murder mystery. It involves family secrets, a kidnapping from several years prior and some family drama. It is so so good!!! The ending really shocked me. I didn't see it coming.

That left me speechless. That was a crazy twisty thriller. That ending. Wow. Did not see that coming. This book is full of hidden family secrets and deception. If you’re looking for a thriller that will blow your mind this is it.

I received an ARC copy of this book through NetGalley.
This was a little bit of a slow burn, but twisty none-the-less. A solid 4 stars, I liked it and it was easy enough to follow. I thought I had it figured out a few times, but I didn't.

This was my first Claire Douglas novel & probably my last. The writing was so perfunctory. The characters lacked depth. I was not invested in the story at all. There were too many red herrings and not enough payoff. Some threads were never resolved.
I read this book for free through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. I wish I had better things to say about it.

Sisters and their spouses switch lives, and then the worst thing happens. Tragedy occurs for one family that affects the other.

Holy Wow! What an intoxicating read, choked full of twists and turns you will never see coming. I hadn’t read Claire Douglas before, and thrillers aren’t usually my genre, but this book pleasantly surprised me when I started reading it one cold weekend. The plot twists will keep you guessing, and the two sisters and mother are not exactly what they seem.
The tale started slowly, but I am glad I gave it a chance. The family drama will get you down, but don’t let it; you will miss all the significant moments this author put into her tale.
The continual switching of viewpoints was the book's most confusing part. It really kept me on my toes so I wouldn’t get lost and put it down. But have a notepad ready to keep track of a few things as you read. There are no spoilers here, but you will understand what I mean when you read.
If you can overlook the family drama and consider how the dynamics in this family could lead to all the plot twists, you will love this book. It is not a cozy thriller, so take your time and get lost in the magic Claire Douglas weaves in her tale.
I gave it four stars because the story kept me reading from start to finish. However, I couldn’t give it a five-star rating because too many details detract from the plot and twists.
But give it a whirl. It will amaze you.
I want to thank Net Galley, the author, and the publisher, for the opportunity to read this book as a free ARC. This review is voluntary and is mine alone.

This book took me a bit to get into and then it was off and rolling. Lots of twists in the story to keep you guessing and it has a nice build up to the end. Good read.

The was a very meh read for me. The twist wasn't super exciting, and the book kind of dragged on for me. I've enjoyed some of Claure Douglas' other books more.

This book had so many twists and turns I could not put it down. A surprise ending I did not see coming left me feeling stunned!
This book follows Tasha and Alice, two sisters who live very different lives, and their mother, Jeanette who is still grieving the disappearance of her youngest daughter Holly 30 years later. You learn so much about this family dynamic and uncover family secrets that will leave your jaw on the floor. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to more from author Claire Douglas!
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Perennial and Paperbacks for this ARC.

3.5/5 stars
The Wrong Sister is fast paced and twisting - exactly what I want in a thriller! I couldn’t put it down, but I feel like there were some loose ends left at the end. I would have liked some clearer answers on some of the plot lines.

The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas is an intense, gripping thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish. The story follows Tasha and Alice, two sisters living vastly different lives, who decide to swap their routines for a week. What starts as an exciting adventure quickly spirals into a nightmare when a tragic incident leaves one sister's husband dead and the other fighting for her life. The chilling message, “It was supposed to be you,” sets off a series of twists that kept me guessing until the very end.
The intricate family dynamics and underlying secrets add layers of suspense, making this more than just a typical thriller. The pacing was mostly steady, though a few slower moments didn’t detract from the overall tension. The shocking ending left me reeling, a testament to Claire Douglas’s skillful storytelling.
This is a must-read for thriller fans looking for a story that blends emotional depth with edge-of-your-seat suspense. Highly recommend adding this to your summer reading list!

My first from Claire Douglas and it won't be the last! Tasha and her husband, Aaron are on a rekindle-our-marriage type trip to France. Tasha leaves their house in the care of her sister, Alice and her husband Kyle. Someone attacks Alice and Kyle and Kyle dies. Turns out each sister has her secrets. Now, this is a slow burn. That's not usually my thing, but the author does a fantastic job of still keeping the tension going. The story is told from several POV's and has more than just one mystery going all at once. It is well written and nothing gets too confusing. Super-easy to tell what's going on. I liked the character development and nice twist! I look forward to more!
Thank you to #NetGalley, Claire Douglas and Harper Perennial and Paperbacks | Harper Paperbacks for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
I will post my review to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Facebook and other retail and social media sites upon pub day of August 5th, 2025.

This was a great mystery! I really enjoyed this book. It was a little creepy at times, but it was never over the top in terms of violence (which I really appreciate when reading a mystery/thriller). There were several mysteries happening at the same time - Venice, Bristol, and the missing sister - so it really kept me reading. This was one where I could have read it all in one sitting (if I only had the time!)! Highly recommend!

This book, while it did draw me in, was a slower paced than I like, there were some holes in storyline that were not filled in, and it felt like it had a rather abrupt ending.
The story is good, the plot essentially pulled itself together and I would never have guessed the twist. I did, however, pinpoint who I thought Holly would be shortly after the character was introduced.
It’s worth a read, so don’t let my review scare you. The family drama for both Tasha and Aaron’s families is written well. The plot is intricate and misdirects your attention several times.
Thanks to Harper Perennial and Paperbacks and also to NetGalley for an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was good, this would be 3.5 stars that I rounded up. It was a very slow burn for me, then some of the resolutions came quick and seemed like nothing to the characters after so much build up. However, it held my attention, had a good twist, and kept me wondering what was going to happen.

Really enjoyed this book. Read it in one day. Enjoyed following the characters, the slow build of the tension, and trying to guess what was happening (I was not able to predict the ending!). Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for this opportunity!

This was my first book by this author. I loved this book! Kept me interested from page 1. So thankful I was able to read it!

4.5/5
This was my first read from Claire Douglas. I did not see where this one was going at all! I was quite surprised with all of the secrets revealed in the last 25% of the book, and it really tied the story together nicely, but without be overly far fetched. The characters are mostly likeable, with the obvious character you're supposed to hate, but is she what she seems to be?
Books written from multiple POVs are often not my jam. However, The Wrong Sister didn't bounce around too frequently and was easy enough to follow. You do need to pay attention to the dates at the beginning of each chapter though, as they is some looking back to a few months earlier for some of the characters.
This book was a mostly easy read, but it still kept you thinking with little crumbs being dropped throughout the book that lead to the reveal at the end.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me the ebook ARC copy.
Tasha is trying to rekindle her love with her husband Aaron and they travel to France for a romantic gateway in her sister Alice's, new house and leave her twin daughters with Alice and her husband Kyle. Everything goes downhill after a while when Alice is attacked in Tasha's home and Kyle gets killed in the incident. It was a good book with many twists and turns.
The oncoming new information kept confusing me but that is the point of a mystery-thriller.
The plot twist had a good build up throughout the whole story.
