This book, I went back and forth on who was to blame, thought I figured it all out and was still blown away when I got to the ending. Finished this is one setting because I could not put it down.

The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas was my first read of 2025 and it was the perfect way to kick off the year. Read in less than 24 hours, I could not put the book down.
Tasha and Aaron are the parents of twin girls. They live a modest family life. Alice, Tasha's sister and her husband Kyle on the other hand are living large. With fancy careers, multiple homes, a fancy car and money to burn the lives of the two sisters could not be more different.
Alice and Kyle offer Tasha and Aaron their apartment in Venice and come stay with the girls so the couple can get away for their anniversary to enjoy some time together and rekindle their romance. The couples swap lives for a week, but only a few days in, Tasha and Aaron receive a call. There has been what appears to be a break in at their home. Kyle is dead and Alice is in the hospital. The couple races home to their twin girls who are being cared for by Kyle's mother. That is when a note arrives that says, "It was supposed to be you."
This book takes the reader for so many twists and turns as the story unfolds. There are many different layers as secrets are exposed one by one. It held my attention from start to finish and did not leave me disappointed!
For those who like a good thriller, with well-developed characters, and an enticing story line, this is book for you!
Thank you, Harper Perennial and Paperbacks and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this captivating book.

This was a a fun read with a lot of twists throughout. I enjoyed the multiple storylines and it’s easy to follow each character as the narrator changes between chapters. I enjoyed the ending and felt it all the plot lines were resolved well. I never felt a lull in the story. This book really kept my attention and I didn’t want to put it down.

Whoa! I loved this way more than I thought I would. I couldn’t help but keep picking it up and reading a chapter any chance I got.
Twists!
Multiple POVs!
Quick chapters! (For some reason I love this!)
I figured majority of it out throughout the book, but it was fun making my brain work to figure it out. Claire Douglas makes you love the right characters and also despise the not so great ones.
thankful to NetGalley for approving me to read this!
4 out of 5 stars for sure, highly recommend!

After 2 sisters do a “life swap” one husband is left dead and the search is on for who did it! Tasha is left wondering if the killer got the wrong family and lies and secrets start unfolding!
A great thriller that keeps you guessing!! Thank you NetGalley for the arc!

The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas is full of suspense and secrets, making for a great read that kept my interest from page one.
Tasha feels she can't compete with her sister Alice, who's very successful in her career. When Alice's husband is killed in what looks like a home invasion, secrets are revealed and Tasha needs to figure out if her and her family are in danger.
Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Publishing for the digital copy of this book. I give it a strong four stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I don’t even know how to feel about this book. It has so much potential and then in the last 7 or so chapters, it was just rushed so badly to the point where it seemed too far fetched. :(

Book Review: The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas
⭐ Rating: 3.5-4 Stars
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for this e-ARC!
Claire Douglas has crafted an intriguing thriller in The Wrong Sister that kept me hooked from start to finish. This is an easy-to-read, binge-worthy novel with a great plot and well-drawn characters. I devoured it in a single day!
At first, I had to take a moment to untangle the characters and their roles in the storyline, but once I got my footing, I was completely immersed. The tension between Tasha and Alice, the stark contrasts in their lives, and the dramatic consequences of their “lifeswap” made for a compelling read.
However, the ending fell just shy of being as strong as the rest of the book. It felt rushed and left a few loose ends that raised more questions than answers. While the conclusion was satisfying to an extent, it didn’t deliver the level of closure I hoped for, which is why I’m torn between a 3.5 and 4-star rating.
That said, this is still a book I’d recommend, especially to fans of domestic thrillers. The Wrong Sister offers a unique premise and enough twists to keep you turning the pages. Claire Douglas is officially on my radar, and I’m looking forward to exploring her other books in the future.
Synopsis:
Tasha has always felt overshadowed by her older sister, Alice, whose glamorous life as the wife of a wealthy entrepreneur contrasts sharply with Tasha’s suburban life with her childhood sweetheart and twin toddlers. When Alice suggests a week-long lifeswap—Tasha and her husband, Harry, in Venice while Alice and Kyle stay with the twins—it seems like an opportunity for both sisters to reset.
But their plan takes a sinister turn when Tasha gets the call: Alice is in the hospital, Kyle is dead, and their house was broken into. A note soon arrives: It was supposed to be you.
What really happened that night? Was the attack meant for Alice—or for Tasha? As the sisters dig deeper, they risk uncovering something far more dangerous than they ever imagined.
If you enjoy thrillers with family drama and suspense, The Wrong Sister is worth adding to your TBR.

Claire Douglas delivered once again in this suspenseful thriller about sisters and family. I enjoyed the whole thing and guessed the main twist but there were still a lot of surprises. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

This is a very suspenseful book with vivid and likable characters. When tragedy strikes you are constantly guessing who was involved and who really is who,

Tasha and Alice are sisters. Tasha married her childhood sweetheart Aaron and they have twins and live in their hometown in a relatively normal, calm lifestyle. Alice became a scientist and married Kyle, and they have multiple homes and fancy cars. Alice suggests a Holiday-esque “Life Swap” for a week so Tasha and Aaron can have some alone time in Venice and Alice and Kyle will stay at Tasha’s house taking care of the twins. While there, the house is broken into and Kyle and Alice are attacked leaving Alice injured in the hospital and Kyle dead. After coming home, Tasha finds a note through her door saying “It was supposed to be you.”
There’s a secondary story of Holly, Tasha and Alice’s little sister who was kidnapped at 7 months old. They’ve always wondered what happened to her and now some familial dna is found at the crime scene. Did Holly have something to do with this? Are there connections here between the attack and Holly’s disappearance?
I liked the book and the story kept me engaged, but I felt that there were way too many loose ends, unanswered questions, and pieces to the story that just never came together. I also felt the ending was revealed very abruptly with no lead up. While not a shocking ending, it could have been done in a much more satisfying way. But I still have unanswered questions and that’s annoying as a reader. Because of that I would have to give this book 3.5⭐️ If the loose ends were tied up, this would be a solid 4. But I think it’s going to frustrate some readers.
Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Harper Publushing for the advance reader copy. This is my honest review. Publication date Aug 5, 2025

While this book held my interest and kept me in suspense, I was disappointed in the ending. After presenting so many questions about who-done-it, the solution was a sudden and unacceptable truth! I love my sisters too, but this was a stretch! I actually thought I was missing the final chapters! Boom…it was done!

This was a fun and twisty read, centered primarily on Tasha, whose sister Alice and brother-in-law Kyle are attacked when staying in her house with her young daughters. There is also a good secondary mystery around what happened to their baby sister 30 years ago. While primarily narrated by Tasha, you get a few chapters from Alice, their mother Jeanette, and an unknown narrator.
This book was fast-paced, with quick chapters and lots of action. I enjoyed the way that the author weaved the current and older mysteries together. Tasha seemed like a believable character, and I empathized with the decisions that she (and other characters) had to make. The twist at the end was a nice surprise and I thought it brought a the story to a close very well. I did walk away with one unanswered question which I felt the author didn’t really address, though.
Overall, I thought this was an exciting and fun read, and I’d recommend to those who like psychological thrillers. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. I always enjoy Claire Douglas and this one was no different. A quick, easy to read domestic suspense that keeps you turning the pages. A bit of science thrown in for the win.

This book is the first book I have ever read by Claire Douglas and it did NOT disappoint! The Wrong Sister is fast-paced and gripping, this intriguing mystery weaves together family drama, tragedy, secrets, and the enduring bond between sisters. Told primarily from Tasha's viewpoint, with added perspectives from her sister Alice, their mother Jeannette, and even their long-lost baby sister, the story delves into hidden pasts and shocking unknowns. I feel like with the mystery we also get family drama, that a lot of people can relate to. I read some reviews that said the family drama overshadowed the mystery plot of the book. From the get-go, I was drawn in. I think the letter bit with the “it should’ve been you” kept me wanting to read. I feel like while I was eager to keep reading, the beginning was slow.
Overall, liked the book enough to keep reading!

An enjoyable read with lots of twists and turns, family drama and secrets. How much do we REALLY know about our families?? 🤨
Thank you to Netgalley and HarperCollins Publishers for the chances to read and review the ARC.

Tasha was married to Aaron, and Alice was married to Kyle. The two women were sisters. They had a sister, Holly, who disappeared when she was an infant. Alice and Kyle had a great deal of money and they had a villa in Venice. Tasha and Aaron had been drifting apart in their marriage, and it was decided that they would go to the Venice villa to rekindle their relationship. While Tasha and Aaron were in Venice, Alice and Kyle were attacked in Tasha's home and Kyle was killed. Someone slipped a note through Tasha 's mailbox that said that it should have been her. At the crime scene, there was a familial blood type found. Tasha, Alice and Jeanette, their mother, decided it was Holly.
Kyle was a tech geek and he had created software that was supposed to revolutionize healthcare. It turns out, he had some shady investors and these people were out to get him.
Holly had been kidnapped and her new parents had named her Bonnie. Her new mother became very ill and she died. While Bonnie was exploring in the house she found a box that her mother had kept. Inside were all of the clippings from the kidnapping. Bonnie put two and two together and came to realize that she was in fact. Holly. She asked her father and he confirmed it. So she decided to go and find her birth mother. Her birth father had died. She wanted to learn all she could about her birth family, which she learned their names and she learned where they lived. Her birth mother had moved to France but when Kyle was killed, she came back to England. Tasha was a dental hygienist and Bonnie took a job in the office as a dental assistant so she could get close to Tasha. She went by the name of Lola. Bonnie's adoptive mother was the sister of Aaron's mother, Viv. When Bonnie came to town she looked her up and and ended up staying with her.
The police took blood from all the interested parties and none of their blood types matched the familial sample. And then Viv brought Bonnie around to meet Tasha and Jeanette. When Jeanette saw her, she knew right away that it was Holly. The police took her blood type as well, and it turns out that it wasn't her blood.
Aaron worked with a woman named Zoe and she was sweet on him, but he wasn't interested. One night, Aaron and Zoe were out back by the pond arguing and Tasha saw them. It turns out someone else saw them arguing as well. And then Zoe ended up dead in the pond. Aaron and Zoe had been in a pub the night she was killed and they had a disagreement which people witnessed. So the police questioned Aaron about her death because there was a wound in the back of her head and they knew the two of them had had a disagreement. Of course Aaron was innocent. Tasha didn't like her either, but no one knew that. When the police went to Zoe's house, they found the wrench that had been used to kill Kyle. They also found the note that had been slipped into Tasha's house on her computer.
Needless to say, this story was about the solving of two murders. I had ideas about who had committed each murder, but I was shocked to learn the truth about each one. Neither was who I expected. The author held the suspense very well. Never in a million years would I have guessed who the actual culprits were. And I really liked the way the author led the reader to believe that the murderers were other than who they were. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would love to read more by this author. I gave it five stars.

Tasha and Alice are sisters that live very different lives. One weekend they agree to do a swap so Tasha and her husband can enjoy a weekend away from their twins and while Alice and her husband watch their home and their girls. Tragedy strikes and Tasha’s weekend of being care free is cut short while Alice’s is changed forever and secrets are revealed.
This book started off good and kept my interest. I feel it had so many unneccessary characters along the way that didn’t really add to the story. Mid book it really picked up with so many plot twist and another story line is added about a quarter in. I think this book had so much potential because it did keep my attention for the most part, but I felt it just had too much going on.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchanged for my honest review.

This story follows Tasha agrees to a week-long life swap with her seemingly more successful sister Alice. Tasha and her husband Aaron head to Alice’s luxurious Venice apartment, while Alice and her husband Kyle stay at Tasha’s home to care for her twins. The arrangement takes a dark turn when Tasha learns that Alice has been hospitalized and Kyle is dead after an intruder breaks into their house. A chilling note stating “It was supposed to be you” adds to the mystery, prompting Tasha to uncover the truth behind the attack and the secrets within her family.
While the novel presents an intriguing premise and maintains a fast-paced narrative, it falls short in delivering a fully satisfying experience. The plot, though filled with twists, becomes predictable, and the character development lacks depth, making it challenging to connect with the protagonists on a deeper level. Additionally, the resolution of the central mystery feels abrupt, leaving some threads unexplored.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Paperbacks for an advanced copy in exchange for my review.

This book to me started off slow, and then towards the end picked up and then I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to know what has happening next.
This book was definitely different from any other book I’ve read, the end of the book I didn’t see coming at all. I thought I had it all figured out and who did what and I was wrong every time, I feel like most thrillers are easy to find who is wrong and who isn’t. But this one kept me guessing.
