I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend you read it! It made me be suspicous of my own sister. I will be lookng for more from this author.

To be honest, I found the writing style for this one to be a bit odd. Each chapter is supposedly told from a different narrator, yet the entire story is written in the third person which took a bit of getting used to. It was also difficult in some places because all of the characters seemed to be exactly the same. To the point that not only was it was hard to tell Alice and Tasha apart, it was also hard to tell the sisters apart from their mother. I could only tell their husbands apart because of the fact that one of them was soon dead. I definitely wish they would have been fleshed out better, maybe we could have seen more of Alice's supposed genius as opposed to her sister instead of just being told that she dressed better and had a bigger and better looking house.
Then when I look at the plot, I found it to be more of a family drama than a thriller. I wouldn't even classify this one as a domestic thriller because it seems like all of the thrilling aspects (the attack on Alice, the murder of her husband and then the death of one of the townsfolk) seemed to take a backseat to the possible discovery of the missing sister (and even that wasn't approached with the kind of intensity that I would have expected).
Which leads me to the ending. Sadly, I can't say too much without giving away spoilers, but I will say that I think the outcome was stupidly outlandish. Especially given the details that came before, and how certain characters had been affected by choices made in the past.
Now, to be fair, this was a fast paced novel that I was able to finish in about a day and a half. I just wish I could say it was because I was glued to the pages, but sadly that wasn't the case. I had an idea of where things might go and I wanted to see if I was right (I wasn't entirely, but the twist wasn't all that shocking to me either as when I looked back all of the clues were right there hiding in plain sight).
That being said, I do believe this novel will appeal to those who just want to read something to pass the time without having to think too deeply into the story being told.
DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher. This has not affected my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.

This was an interesting book.
There were a few spots that left me wondering and some things could use more clarification. But overall not too bad of a quick read.
I had a few thoughts on the outcome and kinda predicted a few things but some were a surprise and some weren’t what I expected.
Thank you NetGalley for the copy

A family full of secrets who doesn't love a book like that?
Once you get into this one it is very hard to put down so make sure you have some time set aside to actually sit and read it.
We have Tasha and Alice sister but they are completely diffferent, reminded me of my sister and I. We have multiple points of view in this one but it is not too hard to follow like some books are. This is definitely a great read and recommend it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Perennial and Paperbacks | Harper Paperbacks for this ARC of The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas.
I enjoy thriller/drama books featuring sisters who share in - in this case, swap - each other’s lives and that is what drew me to request this ARC.
Suburban mom and MFC Tasha and her glamorous, successful sister Alice swap houses and lives to give Tasha and husband Aaron a break.
There follows a sudden tragedy for Alice and husband Kyle and a threatening note to Tasha. There are secrets and lies from the past which have come to call.
This book had my attention from page one and the suspense only grew from there, and it has my preferred structure of multiple POV, with Tasha’s chapters in first-person. The story also has no shortage of jaw-drop twists!
4 stars!

I loved this book! Such a great read with a lot of different plot lines that come together in surprising ways.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper Perennial for the ARC of The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas. This was a fabulously written book, with multiple twists to keep you guessing throughout the entire book. There are two separate events being discussed in this story; one where the sisters attempt to figure out who broke into Tasha's house and committed a crime against Alice and Kyle, and the other event centered around the disappearance/kidnapping of an infant thirty years ago. The author does a great job of tying those events together and keeping the reader guessing, not only about who the intruder was, but also who the kidnapped infant turned out to be. The only thing I did not love about this book was that some POV was written in first person, and others were written in third person. Aside from that, I think it was a great book that kept me enthralled the entire time.

Claire Douglas delivers another gripping domestic thriller with The Wrong Sister, a tale of family secrets, jealousy, and betrayal that keeps readers guessing until the final page. The story revolves around sisters Tasha and Alice, whose lives appear starkly different: Tasha is a stay-at-home mother of twins living in her childhood village, while Alice leads a glamorous life in London with her wealthy husband, Kyle. When Alice offers to house-sit and care for Tasha’s children so Tasha and her husband, Aaron, can enjoy a romantic getaway in Venice, their lives take a dark and unexpected turn.
The suspense begins when Tasha receives a devastating call: Alice is hospitalized, and Kyle has been killed during what appears to be a burglary gone wrong. However, the chilling arrival of a note reading “It was supposed to be you” plunges the family into deeper turmoil. As Tasha struggles to unravel the mystery behind the attack, long-buried family secrets resurface, including the haunting disappearance of their baby sister, Holly, decades earlier.
Douglas masterfully crafts an atmosphere of tension and unease, weaving red herrings and twists throughout the narrative. The story alternates between multiple perspectives—primarily Tasha, their mother Jeanette, and a mysterious woman named Bonnie—adding layers to the plot as each character’s motivations and hidden truths are revealed. The pacing is brisk, with short chapters that build suspense and keep readers hooked.
While the novel excels in its intricate plotting and shocking twists, some readers may find certain elements predictable or overly complex. Tasha’s initial selfishness and fixation on her sister’s seemingly perfect life may make her less likable at first, though her character grows as the story progresses. Alice’s polished exterior also invites suspicion early on, adding to the tension between appearances and reality.
Ultimately, The Wrong Sister is a compelling exploration of sibling dynamics, family trauma, and the lengths people will go to protect their loved ones—or themselves. Douglas’s ability to create flawed yet relatable characters ensures an emotional connection to the story’s high-stakes drama. Fans of twisty domestic thrillers will find this book both addictive and satisfying.
With its clever twists and emotionally charged narrative, The Wrong Sister cements Claire Douglas’s reputation as a master of suspenseful storytelling. It’s a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers who enjoy unraveling complex family mysteries.

One sister is making a sweet little life with her high school sweet heart and their twin girls. One sister is a high profile scientist, recently married to a very rich man.
The third sister was abducted nearly 30 years ago and never seen again.
Another fantastic read! Told from multiple points of view, Claire Douglas does a fantastic job of weaving the story through the lives of the two remaining sisters and their mother, and back 30 years to when the 3rd sister went missing, leaving the reader asking "what, and how, does that have to do with this?"

Loved this twisty family thriller! I read it in a day, it was so hard to put down. Loved the various family members weaving together and how it all blended so well. The ending left me wanting more which isn't a bad thing!

I was given an ARC from the published via NetGalley in exchange for a review. Tasha and Alice are sisters, but could not be more different. When Alice and her husband offer to watch Tasha's twin girls AND their vacation home for a week, Tasha is not in a position to refuse. She could never have imagined what would happen whilst they were away. This is a thriller that is a slow burn. You are engaged and flipping pages the entire time as the plot rages before your eyes in a slow and deliberate way. The reader finds themselves and the story dwindling to a red hot smolder at the end of the book that was so deliberately delivered you almost cannot believe it. The pacing of this book is so interesting and atypical of a thriller, but as a result makes it incredibly enjoyable to read. Douglas develops each character in a way that you truly know them just in time for all the pieces to fall into place. Can't wait to read more by this author!

The Wrong Sister was a fantastic book! I was able to follow the story easily. I thought the book was well written and a great page turner!

Thank you Netgalley and Claire Douglas for this eARC! Child loss/kidnapping, vanishing twin syndrome, murder, loss, and others of the like are included in this book. Alice and Tasha lost a sister at a young age. Alice’s husband is killed, Alice is attacked, and somehow people are connected to each other and they don’t realize it. There was a lot going on and was hard to follow at times, but it was a decent read. The ending seemed predictable to me, but give it a read yourself and see what you think!

BRILLIANT!!!
I absolutely loved this book! I thought I might have had it figured out, but...boy, was I wrong! I loved the multiple POVs. This definitely helped to keep me guessing! Even the ending was a total shocker for me! I will be adding author, Claire Douglas, to my "favorite author" list. Thank you for selecting me to read this ARC. I have to definitely add more of your books to my TBR list! Will be strongly recommending this book to my friends!!!

great fast paced thriller that keeps you engaged almost the entire time. the parallel lives of the twos sisters switching and the family drama make for a fun and unique thriller/mystery. overall a quick read with interesting twists, turns, and characters.

The Wong Sister was a great read!
A family is torn apart when the youngest child is abducted. The mother struggles for years as she blames herself for leaving the baby unattended. The older 2 sisters are close but when the father passes away their mother moves to France. She is unable to deal with the loss of her husband but has never been able to deal with the loss of her baby.
The younger sister marries and has twins. The older sister is married to the perfect man. But when her husband is killed in her sisters house the plot twists and twists and twists!
I highly recommend this book! I couldn’t stop reading it. There are a lot of names and I had to remember who was who but all in all it was really good.

4 ⭐️ This is an interesting and fast paced thriller with many twists, some predictable, but enough surprise to keep me interested.
Two murders, and a lot of family drama enter the lives of Tasha and Aaron and her sister Alice and Kyle. Some seemingly unconnected events (a kidnapped sister) play out and tie it all together. Lots of drama, plot twists, and lies all lead into a surprise ending.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Paperbacks for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This one pulled me in fast — sisters swapping lives, a sudden tragedy, and a chilling note? Yes, please. The setup was gripping, and the tension never fully lets up. Tasha’s panic and confusion felt raw and believable, and the mystery around what really happened to Alice had me guessing the whole time.
The whole “it was supposed to be you” angle gave everything this underlying creep factor that worked really well. There were some solid twists, and the way the story unraveled kept me flipping pages way too late.
A few parts stretched believability a bit, and I had to suspend some logic here and there, but it didn’t kill the vibe. If you like family drama mixed with suspense and secrets you definitely didn’t see coming, this is a fun one to get lost in.

Thank you to Claire Douglas, Harper Perennial and Paperbacks and Netgalley for the e-arc of The Wrong Sister! Loved the premise of this book! Twisty thriller with short chapters! Flawed family dynamics! Major twist took me totally by surprise! Keeps you interested and guessing the entire way through! Devoured this book! This book publishes on 8/5/25!

Tasha and her husband Aaron do a life swap for a week with her well off sister and her husband for their upcoming anniversary. An unsettling turn of event leads them to an early return, and the rest of the book is a series of twists and turns trying to unravel the truth from that evening that changed everything.
I haven’t read a thriller in a quite some time, and boy oh boy was this the one to re-ignite my passion! I literally couldn’t put this one down, even when my eyes were trying to slam themselves shut in the wee hours of the night and my brain was telling me I’d regret my decision in the morning when I had to get up with my kiddos! As much as I enjoyed it, however, I’m a tad disappointed with the end. It doesn’t exactly answer who made the statement on the first page of the book. I think I know, but I don’t like not knowing for sure. Other than that, I loved everything about this book!
