What a great thriller. Fast paced psychological family drama with likeable, relatable characters. Did not see the end coming!

This thriller delivered a fast-paced and engaging storyline that kept me entertained from start to finish. The writing was sharp, and the tension built up nicely throughout the plot. The characters were well-developed, and the atmosphere created a sense of unease that suited the genre perfectly.

However, while the book was enjoyable, the plot twists were fairly easy to predict. About halfway through, it became clear where the story was headed, which took away some of the suspense. Despite that, the execution was still solid enough to keep me turning the pages.

Overall, it’s a decent thriller—entertaining and well-written—but lacking the element of surprise that could have made it truly memorable.

I was excited to receive access to this ARC as the title and cover made it seem like a true domestic/psychological thriller. This tends to be my favorite genre and I love to fall back on them whenever I need a reset.

Overall, I enjoyed this story. I thought it had some fun twists and felt very British (which I love), but there were a few things that kept me from loving it. Mostly I felt that the story had too many elements that didn't add to the story, or were left as loose ends. I also found the twists to be a bit predictable, and was able to guess each twist fairly early on. With that said, I still enjoyed the ride, and think that it made for an easy and entertaining read.

Sisters Alice and Tasha live in two different worlds. Tasha is a married mom to 2 children. Alice is an soon to be married scientist living a more glamorous life. As the book opens, we find the two about to do a "life swap". Alice and her fiancee will be coming to take care care of Tasha's twins, while Tasha and Aaron will be headed to Alice and Kyle's home in Venice, since they've not been away from the twins since they were born, and really want to try and reconnect and get the spark back in their relationship. Unfortunately, while they're a few days into this romantic getaway, they receive a phone call that something bad has happened back at their home in Bristol. As they return home, prepare for a rollercoaster ride of murder and chaos.

This was fun, fast paced, twisty thriller. It was a little predictable, but I still enjoyed it. I can’t really think anything that I’d change about this.

This was a solid page Turner that hooked me from the very beginning and kept me guessing until the very end. This was what one would call a beach Reid, it’s not one of the more literary thrillers like something byLisa Jewell or SA Cosby or Tana French that can often take a little longer too get going or to lay all the groundwork in order to reach the climax, no this is something that is immediately mysterious and kept me turning the pages compulsively one more one more one more well into the night.. I also really enjoyed this because it was something different than the typical domestic thriller with several upper class couples and all their various secrets, I liked that this focused on sisterhood in particular and and delved into all of the intricacies and complexities of this familial bond. This is the perfect book to take on a vacation that will keep you reading instead of looking up to people watch because your book isn’t holding your attention, a very strong four stars.

Good story but I had a hard time getting into this one. Tasha and her husband got away on vacation leaving her sister and husband watching her kids. The husband is murdered while away and also a missing sister.

This book was a good thriller. I enjoyed the twists and turns. I like that it kept me on my toes and I was getting weird vibes from a lot of people in the book. I was certain that I knew who it was going to end up being but discovered that I was not wrong. There were a few things that I was able to figure out but also plenty of twists that I didn't see coming. Overall, I enjoyed this book and would recommend if you need a thriller on your list.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc of this ebook in return for my honest review.

Loved this book. Thriller isn’t my usual genre but I will pick one up from time to time and this one did not disappoint. Kept me on my toes throughout the book and really had me questioning “wtf is going on here” more than once. Loved how it all came together in the end and all loose ends were tied up, I can definitely say I had no idea what was coming until maybe 1 page before. Perfectly twisty with intricately woven familial relationships and wild circumstances. Well done.

This was a gripping, well-crafted thriller that kept me hooked. I love twists and turns and this one didn't disappoint. While reading the first 60% I was certain I knew who the killer was, only to end up completely surprised. The writing itself is clear and engaging, and the character development was perfect for me. I don't like over-explained details.

I look forward to reading more from Claire in the future.

I thought the book was slow to start but the middle and up to 2 chapters to the end were excellent. . This is a story of 2 sisters who have some secrets and when an unexpected murder and assult happens it starts a chain of reactions which all are somewhat connected. I did figure out the killer but the ending for me was not the best ending. My only other problem was there were a few scenarios which were not tied into the plot and felt like filler. I would however try another book by Claire Douglas. Thans to Harper Collins and Net Gallery for allowing me to read an advanced copy

This is a book that uncovers dark family secrets. There were several different POVs. I loved all of the twists and turns. The ending left me stunned. 4.5 - not a perfect 5 due to a bit of a slow beginning.

As a long time fan of Claire Douglas, I was so excited to review her newest book”The wrong sister.” I am also drawn to books that feature sisters as well as twisty family dramas. This book met my expectations! A special thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to preview this book!

This fast-paced and twisty psychological thriller follows Tasha as she unravels two intertwined mysteries—one involving a brutal attack on her sister and brother-in-law in her home, and another tied to the disappearance of their baby sister 30 years ago. The suspense builds through multiple perspectives, keeping readers hooked with well-placed hints and an ending that delivers a surprising twist. While some parts felt drawn out and left a lingering unanswered question, the story remained engaging and well-executed. A gripping read for thriller fans! Thanks to NetGalley and Michael Joseph, Penguin Random House, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first Claire Douglas book and it will not be my last. The sister dynamic and trying to figure out who and why someone would want to take out Tasha kept me guessing.

I appreciated the sister dynamic in this book, illustrating their different roles within the family after a traumatic event that occurred when they were young. The main mystery of the story was engaging while a secondary storyline really pulls you in and keep you guessing. I was trying to figure out how the two were related the entire time, which had me very engaged in the book. Truly enjoyed this one and would recommend.
