This book explains the different sounds that fish make underwater. Sounds that we can’t quite hear with our naked ears. It also explains how those noises are made, and it was fascinating. The illustrations on this book are stunning. We loved all the colors of the fish under the water. Some of the sounds, although written, are difficult to imagine, so this would be a great book to have sounds with!

What Fish Are Saying is a wonderful mix of fun and informative. I even learned a few new things. My boys love all things fish and water, so this was a big hit. The rhyming helped keep them engaged and the illustrations were so pretty. There were so many great details captured and such a wide variety of underwater sea creatures featured.

Thank you for the ARC. Wow the pictures were so vibrant but life like at the same time. My child and I both learned more about the sounds fish “say”.

“What Fish are Saying” by Kirsten Pendreigh is a delightful nonfiction book about the surprising noises that fish and other sea creatures make. This poetry book will make the perfect read aloud. The lyrical prose is fun to read. My animal-loving 3rd grader said he learned lots of new facts. This is a great book to inspire inquire-based research to dive deeper in any of these topics. This book will be an excellent addition to any elementary school library or classroom.
