So Real by Abby Millsaps is a highly entertaining why choose romance that’s heart-wrenchingly emotional as well as showcases gut-wrenchingly accurate representations of a chronic illness & grief along with beautifully hopeful time as new adventures, healing & blossoming beginnings start. I do highly recommend checking content warnings as this isn’t light.

This is book #2 in the Boys of South Chapel series. It cannot be read as a standalone.

I also recommend reading the Boys of Lake Chapel by this author. From my understanding they are intertwined & it is necessary to read both. & they are both phenomenal so I highly recommend reading them all!

So Real is great for those looking to read…

I have no words. The cliffhanger left me clamoring for the next book. I have so many curiosities & I will be excitedly counting down the days until then. I have so many questions & I am so intrigued, which is the best way to end a novel. The heart & the care for the detail the author provides as well as the important stories they are telling, which you understand further by reading their notes. I also appreciate the fascinating, unique & realistically imperfect characters that will win one’s heart:

I listened to the audiobook of this book & I loved the way the different characters were brought to life. I loved the multiple points of view & the multiple narrators that did such a good job with this story. I listened at 2x speed & it was the perfect speed for my ADHD brain.

This series is on my 5 star favorites of the year list & I highly recommend!

Massive thanks to NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for the gifted copy, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.

The amount of love that Greedy, Levi, and Kabir have for Hunter is truly heart warming. They all truly are what she needs in each of their own ways. The mental illness and miscarriage representation in this story made my heart hurt for Hunter. I absolutely despise Magnolia. I’ll definitely be continuing the series!

After the cliffhanger from book 1 I was ready to dive into So Real! It picked up right off and the tangle of their lives just gets more twisted with every chapter! The angst is real in this story and I can't wait for more!

This was such a fun read!! I really loved the group dynamic of Hunter, Levi and Greedy and wasn’t sure how Spence would fit into this, but he was a nice addition the group. I am one hundred percent team Greedy so seeing what he went through in this book was hard to read but his growth and acceptance was beautiful. The narrators did such a wonderful job portraying all the emotions.

Infinite thanks Abby and Team for the early copy

Girl, how many guys are gonna pop up in this story? I hate to say, this FMC annoys the shit out of me but I do enjoy the story. The spice is also exquisite. Listening to this on audio... not safe for work at all LOL. The connection that develops between the MMC's is beautiful. I also didn't see that ending coming at all! I am officially invested and need to know what the hell is happening.

Thank you to Valentine PR and NetGalley for sending me this ALC!

Full cast narration by June DeBorahae, J. River Pierce, Liam Dicosimo, and Keval Shah in Dual style.

We pick up where we left off in So Wrong. The story is told in first person Multi POV. The heartbreak is so palpable and then the dynamic of navigating what is going on. We definitely get some answers but we also stumble upon more questions.

Things aren’t over yet, will Hunter be forced to choose or have a happily ever after with everyone who holds her heart?

The spice in this book is on point.

This is the second book in the series (THESE HAVE TO BE READ IN ORDER) and picks right up from the emotional cliff hanger of book one...and boy it hits hard right from the start. I had to go back and listen to the end of the first book again to remember exactly what was going on...and ya it still hit hard.

This book is an emotional rollarcoaster at times with all the twists and turns and we still have one more book to go. I listened to this as an audio book and I was glued to my computer while this played...i can usually be up doing things while my books play. Not with this one. The narrators, June DeBorahae, J. River Pierce, Liam Dicosimo, and Keval Shah did an outstanding job on this.

I was given an ALC to listen to and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

What an emotional journey this was! Picking up after the absolute bombshell of book one, Hunter's story takes flashes back to the missing three years with the introduction of Kabir, whilst dealing with the fallout of keeping secrets in the present.

I really enjoyed June DeBorahae's performance of Hunter. I really felt the highs and lows of Hunter's moods; the scenes where she was at her lowest and was almost robot like were so well done. I was getting frustrated that Hunter was being treated with kid gloves though by the other characters; she has become so much stronger (the flashbacks just show how far she has come) and I just wished she'd fought her own battles a little more in this one rather than Kabir or Levi stepping in. Hunter may not feel that way herself yet, but it felt like she wasn't even given much chance to try.

I struggled a little with Kabir; flashback Kabir I loved, current Kabir not so much. The care he showed Hunter was amazing in the London chapters and was exactly what she needed. What I couldn't quite understand though was how Kabir didn't then apply that same courtesy to Greedy; not only about the baby, but also after the scene with Greedy and Hunter and the safe word. In the moment I get his over protectiveness of Hunter, but after she took responsibility, he never apologised to Greedy for assuming the worst. I understand that Hunter is the centre of his world, but I thought he was more mature than that from how we saw him with other characters in the flashbacks and from how he spoke about consent.

Which leads me to Greedy; I adore this character and I just don't understand why Levi and Hunter weren't bending over backwards to win him back after keeping him in the dark for so long. This book takes place over a week and Levi had the audacity to say to Greedy should just move forward and not dredge up the past after two absolute bombshells! In a book which writes about Hunter's mental health so well, I was a little disappointed Greedy wasn't given the same courtesy and allowed more of a grief journey. I did however like how that Levi apologised and his whole inner monologue in that scene; they were friends first and he betrayed Greedy too. I'm also here for the direction this is going!

The cliffhanger though caught me completely off guard. Didn't see it coming and I have so many questions going into book three!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ALC of So Real, in exchange for an honest review.

So Real is a spicy "why choose" romance with a hint of mystery that will keep you hooked from start to finish. The dynamics between the characters are great, and Levi quickly became my favorite. The ending is intense and left me excited to see how things unfold in the next book—especially in terms of how the relationships evolve after such a dramatic twist.

The character interactions were a highlight for me, though I do wish I’d known going in that this was a sequel, as it would’ve made the experience even better. I did feel a little uncertain about the introduction of a new love interest. It’s possible he was set up in the first book, but I’m not sure how I feel about the balance of the relationships shifting again.

The plot does a great job of building suspense and mystery, and by the end, I was completely hooked. The voice actors also did an excellent job with the narration, giving each character a distinct voice, which made the listening experience even more enjoyable. All in all, So Real is a solid read for fans of steamy romance with a touch of intrigue.
4 Stars!!!

So Real (Boys of South Chapel #2) is a why choose, second chance romance.

This continuation picks up right where book one left off. You immediately are hit with so many emotions from these characters. I enjoyed Kabir’s caring nature, and dominating personality. Levi is fun, but also struggles with his own drama. Greedy may be my favorite so far. I love his connection with Hunter. The hook ups were spicy and, although I am not a fan of degradation, I think it was well written. I hate the cliffhanger, but I’m intrigued to see how it all plays out in the next book.

Liam Dicosimo, Keval Shah, J. River Pierce and June DeBorahae all did a really great job narrating and bringing this story to life. I think they portrayed the characters well.

I love Abby and her work this is a series but I think you can read this as a standalone. I loved these characters and this story! I can’t wait for everyone to read this or listen both options are great

Wow! When I started this Book I honestly didn't understand it because of the way it began so I had to look into it and found out this is a book in a series, so I stopped it and read the first book. Ok so now that I finished the first book and came back to restart this one it clicked in place. Holy freaken crapola THIS Book! Everything about it was chefs freaken kiss 💋 the going Then, and Now sometimes trips me out but getting the hang of it is getting easier. The Woman narrator is kind of what I lowered a star for, her voice is Boring in a way that has me cringing I just hope it's not the same narrator for book 3 if that one becomes an Audiobook as well!

Thank you, Dreamscape Media, for the chance to listen to So Real ALC! 🎧✨

This is a “why choose” spicy romance with a dash of mystery that really kept me on my toes. At first, I struggled to get into the plot... until I realized it’s actually the second book in a series—oops, my bad! 😂 Once I caught on, I set aside my initial reservations and got much more invested in the story. I really enjoyed all the characters, with Levi standing out as my favorite. I can’t wait to read about the crew’s reactions in book 3, especially after that intense ending. I’m sure these events will push their relationships to grow in powerful ways. 💔❤️

The character dynamics were fantastic, and if I’d known it was a second book going in, I’m positive this would’ve been a five-star read for me! The introduction of another love interest left me a bit uncertain, though—maybe he was introduced in book 1, but I’m not sure how I feel about the balance shifting again.

I loved how the plot thickens by the end and how the author adds some mystery to the story. The voice actors did an amazing job narrating, and I really appreciated having distinct voices for each character. 🎙️ Looking forward to book 3!

ALC Review
So Real by Abby Millsaps
Boys of South Chapel - Book 2

These books need to be listened to in order, because they build off of each other. So Real picks up where So Wrong left off. I was hesitant with bringing in the next man to the group with it already being so shaky, but it worked out. There is a lot of trauma to work through, and there is a lot of spice.

Narrated by: June Deborahae, Keval Shah, J River Pierce, and Liam DiCosimo
The narration for this one was spectacular - each individual voice is so different from each other, there was no confusion when listening to the book.

Pick this one up if you enjoy:
* Dual timeline
* Second chance
* Trauma and mental health representation
* Alpha British billionaire
* Golden retriever boyfriend
* Cinnamon roll step-brother

Thank you to Netgalley, VPR, and Abby Millsaps for the advance copy of this audiobook.

Abby Millsaps got me again!! I should have anticipated another cliffhanger, but I was too caught up in the storyline to realize I was nearing the end of the book.

Just like So Wrong, this audiobook hooked me from the start! It had twists and turns, so much emotion, and all the why choose spice!! There were some dark themes, that you’ll need to check your TW for, but I think Abby wrote them with informed grace.

With the numerous dynamics between Hunter, Garrett, Levi & Kabir, all of the tropes and bases are covered. From lovers to enemies, and back again, with Garrett & Hunter, to second chance with Hunter & Kabir, I was completely enthralled in the storylines. Levi and his incredible heart, also had me melting into a puddle. Then combine them all, and I nearly imploded 😂

While I am normally enraged by a cliffhanger, this story is too good to not continue, so I’ll definitely be moving on to So Rare, book 3 in The Boys of South Chapel series.

This is the second book in the trilogy and we get to see a relationship start to develop between Hunter and 3 of her men. Kabir, Greety and Levi. There is a lot of angst in this one as Greety comes to terms with the past and tries to see a future with Hunter and these other men. There are some very hot scenes in this one, but some of the description gave me the yucks.

This is a very good book 2 and I can't wait to see how book 3 comes out!

The narrators did a good job with this one. The voices were all a little different and made it easy to figure out which guy was talking.

I can't wait for the next book!
