I really liked The Maiden of Ireland, by Susan Wiggs, it reminded me of old-school historical romances - in a great way. Wesley's love and care for his daughter is really beautiful, and Caitlin's ability to fend for herself and her care of others drive the plot forward as much as their falling in love and Cromwell's machinations do. I also very much enjoyed all the twists and adventures in this novel.
