The art in this one is STUNNING!! I feel like the story might be a little slow and abstract for a younger reader, but I really enjoyed it. Very simple but still very dreamlike. This book would be better as a bedtime story than as a Storytime book, in my opinion.

When Emilio travels to abuelo's house the adventure begins. Emilo and Abuelo love the outdoors and the mysteries within the forest. When the eat outdoors by candlelight, Abuelo tells legends of the forest. One night, when there is a full moon, abuelo explains how the moon has many faces. Abuelo takes Emilio on a hike to meet the moon. Such a lovely story for the young ones. The illustrations are so beautiful, you feel as though you are in the forest along with them.

It is a captivating story of a little boy who goes on an adventure to reach the Moon from the Earth.
Beautiful illustrations are hard to miss and they tell the story in perfect synchrony.
Chidren as well as adults love to read book with illustrations!

This was so cute and felt like a little ode to all the adventurers out there! I thought the relationship between Emilio and Abuelo was depicted so beautifully and the illustrations made the book so much more atmospheric. I could easily see this as a bedtime story! I love all the little details and how they made me feel like I was in the woods with them too, trying to reach the moon. Super adorable and a great read to end anyone's night!

This is a wonderful picture book about an adventurous spirit, the joys of nature and spending time with loved ones!
My children and I enjoyed the wonderfully enchanting and whimsical illustrations. It works perfectly as a bedtime story and I am looking forward to reading it many more times with my children into the future.

This is a really endearing story. I think this is a great picture book for parents to read alongside their children.

A beautifully illustrated children's book about Emilio visiting his Abuelo. This is a perfect nighttime read as it has dark and dreamy illustrations and magical words.

When life is simple, it's magical. Grandpa and the moon are all this child needs to see wonder all around them.

I love how abuelo taps into his grandson's curiosity to bring joy into his life. Nature doesn't require anything fancy to help us build relationships with the people and world around us. How to Reach the Moon reminds all of us of this amazing gift.

I also love that this lovely book is available in Spanish: Como Llegar a la Luna. Great for elementary school teachers in Spanish Immersion and Dual Language programs.

How To Reach the Moon is a striking story that takes you on a journey through the forest in search of the moon. it's a story about a boy and his Abuelo.

this is my favorite part:
boy: "Abuelo, is it true that the moon has a face we never see?"
abuelo: "the moon has many faces! sometimes i look at the moon and see the face of your abuela. sometimes i see my own face as a child, when i was your age. and other times i see the face of the earth, as if the moon were a mirror that the earth looks into as it gets ready for bed."

Nicolás Schuff's story paints the perfect summer vacation impression and this is an ideal book for bedtime that highlights the companionship between a grandparent and child.

Emilio visits his abuelo during the summer where they spend quality time together in the forest. Abuelo is always telling Emilio new stories and sharing the wonders of the world with him. One night they go on an adventure to visit the moon and have a magical time together.

This book had such a cute story. It was easy to follow and fun to read. The prose was engaging and kept the story moving. The illustrations were also incredibly gorgeous and really suited the story being told.

Emilio loves spending vacations in the forest with his adventurous abuelo, dining under lantern light and listening to his fantastical stories. One night, under a full moon, Abuelo suggests they go meet the moon, sparking a magical journey through the woods. As they set off, Emilio wonders what creatures await—and if they’ll really reach the moon.

This was so precious! I absolutely loved the illustrations, it was so sweet how they went to swim to see the reflection of the moon. I will definitely recommend this to all the mothers I know!

Beautiful, atmospheric illustrations that hug the text and draw in the reader! I love the illustration style (Ana Sender is a genius) and the playful text choices. An adorable story of family, quality time spent together and finding unexpected routes to a destination.

Such a cutie patootie of a book!!! 5 stars from me. I really recommend everyone to read this book as fast as they can because it's really cute!

This is a beautiful tale which functions as a love letter to the wonder of nature, the power of family, and the stories which carry our experiences. Schuff weaves together elements of childlike wonder and hints at the backstory of his abuelo, offering a subversively emotional story. The illustrations, done by Sender, capture the serenity and beauty of abuelo's storytelling, as well as the beauty of the moon in a wooded land.

This is such a beautiful and sweet story! This book wasn't what I was expecting at all, but I was happily surprised. Emilio's story about spending time with his abuelo truly shows the power that storytelling has, and how much love and wonder can come with it. On top of that, Emilio's adventurous spirit is infectious, and will definitely inspire young readers to be creative and adventurous, just like both of the characters in this book.
As for the plot, it was clear, defined, easy-to-follow, and just generally well-done.
Now, I want to give credit to the illustrator. They captured the enchantment of the moon and the night sky wonderfully, which worked really well with the story. Adding onto that, the author and the illustrator worked really well together. What I mean by this is that the writing was minimalistic, while still being descriptive. This allowed the breathtaking illustrations to really shine through and both aspects (writing and art) of the story were able to reach their full potential.

I read it to my little brother, and he said, "I Loved it sm," bc he's so curious about the moon and how we meet the moon, but when I read it to him, he liked it very much. This comic is for children, but I'm an adult, and I enjoyed it too.
