4.5* The time crossing in this book was clever - from one historical period to another, with accompanying challenges and puzzlement for the characters. I enjoyed seeing these time periods through the characters' eyes, and seeing them overcome their initial reactions to each other. The premise, setting, and characters were all compelling!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are completely my own.

Absolutely loved this one. It was unique and interesting. I loved the characters and the plot. It was interesting to read the different dialects- this book was obviously well researched. I enjoyed learning more about the French Revolution. This book had a satisfying ending but also left it open for more books. I can’t wait for more in this (hopefully) series.

This is a review for The Tides of Time by Sarah Eden. This is a review for Netgalley in return for my honest opinion. This story is very well written, and captured my interest from the beginning, and I absolutely loved the characters and the whole story! The storyline kept me reading page after page because it was so interesting that I had to finish it so I could know what was going to happen. The ending left my heart pounding because I never suspected it, and I really liked how the author drew the story to a close! It is a great book, and even though it is fictional, there is a lot of historical fact that kept the story super interesting, and helped it to really flow well. I highly recommend it, and rate it 5 out of 5!
The story begins in 1793 amidst insanity of the horrible killing taking place during the French Revolution, where Lili Minet, who has already saved 76 people from madam guillotine, and is trying to get two more to safety, is being chased by her own brother, Géraud. Géraud is an agent for the Tribunal, who believes people like his sister Lili is a traitor to France and the revolution, and he chases Lili down wanting to see her pay the ultimate price for her crimes, but Lili slips thru his fingers.
Lili Minet finds herself in the ocean after being pursued by her brother, Géraud, and ends up being rescued by a handsome islander, Armitage Pierce, who pulls Lili to safety, and wonders what brought such a beautiful woman to his island south of England during a horrendous storm. Armitage and his grandfather run the lighthouse on the island, and have dealt with a lot of loss, so Lili brings joy they never thought was possible after losing so many they loved. Lili realizes she has been thrust 80 years in the future, and through it all, the she must learn to not only adapt to the new time, but she must adapt learning to trust people again, and hopefully leave the danger of France behind, but your past has a way of finding you, and Lili and Armitage must find their way through the Tides of Time!. Don't miss this story, as it is so good! I highly recommend it!

Loved this one! The story was unique and really easy to jump into! I loved the characters and how their romance developed! I loved the incorporation of the French Revolution it was really well done and worked really well for this story and how their time travel element was written it felt unique and interesting! I did struggle a bit at the start with the MMC Armitage's dialogue because of the way he spoke but I caught on quickly and loved this one from start to end! Definitely recommend reading this book!
4.5 out of 5 stars!

Sarah M. Eden does it again. This is an atmospheric and engaging time travel historical romance that left me craving more. The characters were well developed and I was rooting for Lili and Armitage the whole time. The French Revolutionary time period combined with Eden's exquisite attention to historical detail made this book a treat to read.
If you are looking for a delightful story, heartfelt characters, and an immersive reading experience, this book is for you!

I thought the hook in the beginning was solid and there were a few good twists to the story. Towards the end also had an exciting element to it. I did like getting a peak into Revolutionary France. For me, it was a bit slowish in the middle. As to the ending I have mixed feelings about it. I think the author ended it well and I'm not sure it would've been as good ending any other way but I was also hoping for a different ending. I enjoy this author for the thoughtful writing she produces.

I'd like to start my review by extending a thanks to the author, Sarah M. Eden, Shadow Mountain Publishing, and NetGalley for the privilege of being able to read an advanced copy of The Tides of Time. I will share my review to Amazon, Goodreads, and Barnes & Noble as well.
The Tides of Time is a truly captivating, beautiful time travel historical romance that blew me away. I'd never read a book by this author before, despite my interest in historical fiction, and I'm now definitely a fan. Eden's writing style is perfect for weaving in historical detail and engaging prose, so that you're kept on the edge of your seat but still grounded in historical events. Those events provide a lot of context for the behavior and relationships of the characters, and as the main character finds herself thrust forward in time, she learns that context is really important. Lili, the main character, escaping the clutches of revolutionary France, hops on a ship bound for England.
The ship experiences more than just a geographical change, and is thrust almost a century forward in time, where she is rescued by a lighthouse keeper called Armitage after being lost at sea during a storm. Even though Lili is from the past, she is from a much more tumultuous time - and has to adjust to the calmer small town living. Just when she may have been finding some footing, some of the answers about her time travel come to the forefront and bring forward even more interesting questions about their world. I really fell in love with the writing style and the small town. The setting was just so fun to imagine as I read. I enjoyed this book a great deal and look forward to reading more from Sarah M. Eden. If you liked the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon or other time travel historical stories (The Time Traveler's Wife, The Winter Sea) you'll love this one. I'd say this one is appropriate for ages 14 and up, considering the romance is completely clean and the violence described is not graphic. This one was both cozy and thrilling at the same time, if that's possible. :)
Major tropes and themes:
- time travel
- found family
-slow-burn romance
- French Revolution
- strong, resilient FMC
- mystery and magic
Rating: 4.5/5 stars!

An enchanting time-slip historical romance. The story had me intrigued from the very beginning and not just because I love this author, the storyline is captivating. The story starts out strong and fast paced, and it slows down long enough for you to catch your breath before it picks up again. The characters are well written and defined. Elizabeth a.k.a. Lili has a price on her head from trying to help free her French people from the tyrants of Robespierre and the members of the tribunal. Her brother Géraud is one of those members and even though they lost both of their parents to this terrible revolution. Géraud chose to fight and persecute innocent people while Lili fought to save them. As Lily is trying to escape with her life, she boards a small boat, ends up in a terrible storm, along with some other interesting events, she is capsized into the Tides of Time. Little did she know that it was 80 years in the future. I just can’t say how fascinating I found the story to be. The only downside I had to this book was the old world English language, and I wish I had learned French. After a time it became easier to understand the language and pronunciations. The author also did a good job of explaining what some of the French phrases were.
I recommend this book to anyone especially those that love history, sweet romance, and a gripping storyline.

I wrote this review in absolute awe. I knew this book was going to be another one of Eden’s finest but I was blown away by this book. I love time-travel themed books and the way Eden wrote the variety of time periods was so well done.
The story immediately immersed me in and I loved the French phrases and the beginning setting was full of danger as we meet Lili at the start of one of her rescues. 1793 France is full of fear and hate during the Tribunal. After heroing events, Lili is transported to 1873 and is rescued by Armitage Pierce. The story takes so many twists and turns that left me never wanting to stop reading.
The way Eden writes these characters and the different settings is masterfully done. I enjoyed each character immensely, as we meet Grandfather Pierce (he was a favorite), the beloved townspeople, and many others I can’t name.
How the secrets of the tides of time are explained and brought together is so fascinating. I couldn’t get enough.
I received a paperback from the author and publisher. All views are my own. Huge thank you to the publisher for the auto-approval for the ebook.

The Tides of Time is a unique time travel romance that will keep readers intrigued. Sarah M. Eden always writes stories full of heart, emotion, and depth, and this one is no exception. The era of the French Revolution has always fascinated me; an understandable, compelling cause turned into something so horrific was represented well in this story.
I’ll admit, some of the time travel aspects were a bit hard to wrap my brain around, but I enjoyed these characters and would recommend The Tides of Time to fans of Eden and historical romance with lots of twists and turns. 3.5/5 stars

Fleeing Robespierre’s Tribunal, Lili Minet escapes France only to be swept eighty years into the future, finding herself in 1873 England. Rescued by lighthouse keeper Armitage Pierce, she remains guarded, revealing little of her past, though a fragile bond begins to form between them. But when the danger that once pursued her resurfaces across time, Lili and Armitage must defy history itself to protect their love and their future.
I would rate this one as a 4.5 because the ending felt a bit rushed and there were a lot of unanswered questions. It's been awhile since I read a time travel kind of story, so I was interested to see what one of my favorite authors would do with it. Lili made for an interesting heroine to follow, as she is the one pulled from her time. Armitage was a sweet hero, though I never did get used to his way of speaking.
My biggest complaint was the rushed ending. I felt as though I was left with more questions, especially in regard to one of the supporting characters. I’m not really surprised, since this is setting up a series, but it is something to consider when you begin.
Overall, it was a sweet romance. Fans of the author and readers looking for a sweet time travel romance will no doubt enjoy this one.

I like a good time travel novel. This one seemed pretty slow to me. I liked the characters but the story didn't really engage me as much as most of her books do. I could take it or leave it. It wasn't one that I was just waiting to get back to. I liked it. I didn't love it. This kind of ends with a cliffhanger so maybe this needed to be the build-up book.

I enjoyed this very much. Time travel stories always boggle the brain and cannot help but leave unanswered questions.
But, still, the possibilities, twists and turns hold my interest. This story is well done. The French Revolution was far more nefarious than I recalled or perhaps paid attention to. Lili and Armitage share so much and understand so little, but they care deeply. It's hard to describe their story, but I certainly recommend it.
I look forward to the next installment in the Storm Tide series!

-This my friends is an epic and captivating story that will take you and your heart on a grand adventure, where you will flee 1783 revolutionary France along side lovely Lilli, who is making a great escape to England only to be caught in quite a dangerous storm that sends her spiraled 80 years ahead in the future, to 1874, where dear Armitage Pierce rescues a her from the water near the lighthouse where he is a keeper and her strange behavior makes him suspicious. As the two spend time together as Lilli heals, a blossoming friendship begins to grow between them that will change into something much. However, dangers from the past will greatly threaten their hope of a future together. Oh my goodness, I was completely hooked from the very first page to the very last page. There are many twists and turns and surprises along the way. I absolutely loved how this dear story is weaved so wonderfully and precisely with such great adventure, thrilling suspense, heartwarming and dear family relationships, and of course, Armitage and Lilli, who tore at my heart strings in all the best ways. “You are family to me”

The Tides of Time is the latest release from Shadow Mountain Publishing’s Proper Romance line. It is a time travel romance set in 1793 France and 1873 England. After undermining the efforts of the Revolutionary Tribunal in France, Lili Minet is set to flee to England. The journey takes an unexpected turn, and she finds herself catapulted 80 years in the future. When lighthouse keeper Armitage Pierce pulls her from the water, they begin an epic adventure that takes them across time.
This is a bit of a departure from Sarah Eden’s norm. Still, it has her signature attention to detail with the historic setting. Both eras are well drawn, and it’s fun to see the clash between times.
There are some fun and interesting characters and a sweet romance. However, I felt they took a backseat to the magic system. They are not as developed as I have come to expect from Sarah Eden. The romance fell a little flat for me. I feel like this is due to the need to take so much time explaining this system of time travel and working in the little time travel influences to the plot and characters, which were all very predictable for me. I can see why this will be a series. The ending wasn’t a full, satisfying resolution.
I did enjoy Lili’s character development and the themes about family that emerge from that. I can relate to her need to think of someone she grew up with as a stranger. Death is not the only way you can lose a family member. Grief is still a necessary step regardless. And sometimes distance is the only thing that can bring peace.

I love all of Sarah Eden's book so I had to give this book a chance even though in the past I haven't always liked books with time travel. But the time travel was so well done (I should have never doubted it would be) and I ended up enjoying this read way more than I could have imagined.
This book starts in 1793 with Lili Minet helping people escape from the Tribunal in France. As they are escaping, Lili is thrown into sea to her death. Except she is instead rescued and pulled to safety on Loftstone Island by Armitage Pierce who is a lighthouse keeper. As she is warmed up she notices strange things that lead her to believe she just might have traveled through not just an ocean, but through almost a century of time.
This book was such a fascinating read and I enjoyed every page. I highly recommend this historical romance to anyone looking for a beautiful love story.

Where do I even begin? There's so much I want to say, but at the same time, I don't want to spoil a single moment of this breathtaking journey. So let me just sum it up: READ THIS BOOK. IMMEDIATELY.
Seriously, clear your schedule, find a cozy reading spot, and dive in. I was completely captivated from start to finish. The twists, the emotional depth, the slow-burn romance-every element worked together so beautifully. And that ending?! My heart is still recovering. Sarah M. Eden, you have outdone yourself!
Lili's escape from revolutionary France already had me on edge, but when she's thrown 80 years into the future and rescued by Armitage Pierce, the story truly takes off. Their dynamic is everything I love in a romance-gradual, full of trust-building, and deeply emotional. Armitage's initial suspicions, Lili's struggle to adjust to a new world, the warmth of his grandfather (who completely stole my heart)-all of it made for such a rich and immersive experience.
And the time travel? Brilliantly done. The tension, the unexpected surprises, the what-just-happened moments—| lost count of how many times I gasped or had to pause just to process a major reveal. Sarah M. Eden has a gift for weaving history, romance, and suspense in a way that feels effortless.
While the book isn't a cliffhanger, it absolutely leaves room for more, and I need answers.
Thankfully, a second book is on the way, because I'm not ready to let go of these characters.
If you love time-slip novels, historical intrigue, and a romance that makes your heart ache in the best way, this book is for you. One of my favorite reads of the year-don't miss it!

Sarah Eden has written a beautiful tale in The Tides of Time. Reminiscent of the Outlander saga, Eden penned a story of time travel that awakened my imagination to fantastic possibilities. With romance, tension, and an aura of mystery amid the horrors of the French Revolution, The Tides of Time is a novel to be thoroughly enjoyed.
I felt Eden exquisitely captured a sense of emotional desperation within a veil of hope. With stunning prose and description, each scene was a feast for the senses. I cannot wait for another installment in this series!
I received this book from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

I really loved the majority of this book. I appreciate that Sarah is trying new writing styles because authors often become stagnant when they are trying to grow. So I really appreciate that Sarah isn't falling into that trap. Mostly the abundance of time jumps that occurred was a little overwhelming and hard to follow near the end. I did really love the characters. They were delightful and fun! The main time periods chosen were great and worked well together. I think it's an enjoyable read!

As with all of Sarah Eden's books, this book was just lovely, from start to finish! Time traveling between the French Revolution and the late 1800's makes for a supernatural tale that is also richly steeped in history!
The time travel theme leads to so many plot twists, making the last 1/3 of the book a riveting adventure!
I received an arc via netgalley, but all enthusiastic opinions are my own!
