A cute spin on Billy goats gruff with the troll under the bridge. I loved the rhyming and what the goats were trying to accomplish. The illustrations were adorable thank you NetGalley for the arc and exchange for an honest review.

The illustrations are fun, colorful and detailed. As an adult I thought the story felt a little confusing and disjointed at times but I think kids will really enjoy it

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the eARC! These Goats will have young readers cracking up as they adventure to their grandma’s for her birthday. It reminds me of 3 Billy Goats Gruff with the bridge and the troll. Animal lovers will love reading the Goats adventure!

This was such an adorable book. My child and I both loved reading it. We will be purchasing as soon as it’s available!

You can't ever go wrong with a story about a few goat grandkids (get it?) on their way to see their goat grandma. This is absolutely a perfect gift for that grandma who has many grandchildren, especially if grandma lives far away.
The rhyming scheme of the story makes it easy to read for young readers, and the rhythm of the story also flows nicely. It's also just a fun story to read. The message of the story is to keep going, even when things don't go to plan. The kids had such a great adventure getting their cake to grandma's house, and in the end, they found out that things could have been easier for them if they had just asked. It subverts the well known goat-on-a-bridge story, which I really liked- it's better to have friends than enemies in the world.
The illustrations are really soft, pretty, and full of expression. Each page has so much that look at that I spent quite a bit of time just looking at the illustrations. My favorite illustration was the fish who scored a frosted strawberry.
It's such a sweet, positive book that I can see kids read again and again (and again and again).

If you or your child love books with quirky animal characters and mishaps filled with giggles, then this book is perfect for you! Goats Afloat by Lezlie Evans is a silly children's book that takes you on an adventure as a family of goats tries to deliver presents to their grandmother goat. Heading across a turbulent river path, they are met with multiple challenges.
I loved how even when all odds were stacked against the goats, they never gave up! There are twists and turns up until the last page, ending in a way I didn't see coming! The illustrations were bursting with color, and as a lover of goats, the goofy goat drawings left me with a smile. Overall, the story, rhyming scheme, and illustrations made this book a truly delightful reading experience. I highly recommend reading it!
Thank you, NetGalley and Two Lions, for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Goats Afloat is a charming tale of a group of young goats baking a cake for their grandmother and taking a boat to her house after being unable to take the bridge. On their adventure, they have many challenges they must face but eventually make it to their grandmother's house! I thought this story was adorable, and its rhyming pattern and funny main characters will be sure to enchant young children!

This was such a cute picture book. I love everything goats, so this was right up my alley, but the story was so cute. My library will definitely be adding it to our collection.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
Darling, hilariously absurd little story about goats taking a canoe to take their Grandma a cake and have a party with her. Things go awry, the cake sinks. It's all okay at the end - and even the cake comes to Grandma, rescued from the water.
Next time, they'll take the bridge instead.
It's a good book for learning to read, or even learning to read English as a second language. The concepts are simple and universal, and the story is laugh-outloud funny
I'm giving this four stars since I found the colors in the illustrations unappealing I had trouble making out some of the words on signs in the illustrations.

What a fun story with hilarious illustrations!
The illustrations by Julia Patton are simple, colorful, silly, and FUN!
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to everyone, but especially to a school or your local public library!
I requested and received a temporary uncorrected eGalley on Adobe Digital Editions from Two Lions via NetGalley. Thank you!

Such a fun read!
It's already on my christmas list for the children in my life next year! I plan to buy a goat plush and this will make the most amazing book gift for little ones!

Thank you to NetGalley and Two Lions for an e-ARC of this title to read and review. These goats are so silly and chaotic! The illustrations are really great, and capture just how much is going on in this story. I thought the rhyme wasn't always easy to follow, but the goat characters help keep the storytelling flowing on their journey!

This is a fun story of goats in a boat but I felt the rhymes to be awkward at times. Some of the words were more advanced for my children and they lost interest in it quickly. I feel this story might be better for 6-7 year olds. The illustrations are a bit confusing and sometimes too much is going on.

Such a silly and fun book. The rhyming was super cute and the ending unexpected. Who knew the troll and billy goat were friends! Definitely recommend when looking for sing songy rhyming.

Birthday Blunders
A sweet attempt to celebrate their Grandma’s birthday. The Goats get put through some grueling trials on their way to Grandma’s. I definitely think this book would be a story time hit filled with giggles and gasps.
The illustration on this journey makes it an immersive experience. It expertly takes you through the hiccups and blunders.
I received a free copy of this book from Lezlie Evans (Author), Julia Patton (Illustrator) and Two Lions. I am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.

3.5 Stars
This was silly and fun, I had a good time with the rhymes. The troll illustration was ADORABLE. This was funny and goofy and silly, fun to read aloud.

I really enjoyed reading this story. It was cute, it was funny, and it rhyming throughout. Which made it perfect to help my kids learn rhyming in a story book setting. In Goat’s Afloat, five goats go on a trip in a canoe to bring their granny a cake to avoid the bridge and the troll. In the end they meet and make friends with the troll while having delivered the cake. The plot and illustrations were so well done and kept my kids engaged throughout.

I really enjoyed this one! I love a book with a solid and consistent rhyme scheme so this was perfect for me. I think the length was perfect; not too many words per page and a very engaging story. I could definitely see myself using this book at Storytime or an Outreach program.

Colorful and fun play on the Billy Goats Gruff and Troll tale. Perfectly silly as the goats travel to Granny's for her birthday, with cake! This would be a great read at storytime. There are lots of details in the illustrations for kids (and adults!) to catch on each re-read. Thanks to NetGalley and Two Lions for the eARC

I loved Goats Afloat! Very cute story and great illustrations! Hilarious, action driven story of goats trying to make it their grandmother's house for her birthday. I loved the joke tie-in to The Three Billy Goats Gruff at the end. Will definitely be recommending this for our summer reading program 2025.
