4.5 🌟
This book picked up exactly where we left off in Book 1, and wow, the twists and turns just did not let up. I was completely hooked, hanging onto every moment. Phoebe and Rocky’s relationship continues to evolve, and watching them navigate all the chaos had me fully invested. Plus, seeing other characters start to catch feelings? Ugh, I was living for it 🤭. And that ending? Even more jaw-dropping than the first, I was not ready. Im super excited for book 3!
“It's always been me and Rocky. From the beginning. Until the end. No one else could ever take his place.”

I really thought Destructively Mine was going to be a hit for me, especially since I enjoyed the first book so much. I was excited to return to this world, and the premise of “the plan” had me completely intrigued from the start. It felt like there was so much potential for tension, secrets, and emotional depth—and there were definitely some twists along the way that caught me off guard in the best way.
But as the story went on, I found myself feeling a little let down by the execution. The pacing felt uneven at times, and the emotional stakes—while present—didn’t always land the way I hoped they would. I kept waiting for that moment where everything would click and pull me in fully, but it never quite got there. Some plot points felt a bit repetitive, and I was missing the emotional intensity and nuance that made the first book so compelling.
Also, I hate to say it, but a few characters started to grate on me as the book progressed. Whether it was decisions they made or dialogue that felt a little off, there were moments where I found myself pulled out of the story. I still cared about the core relationships, but some of the tension started to feel forced instead of earned.
That said, I wouldn’t call this a bad read by any means—there’s still a lot to enjoy here. The Ritchie sisters know how to create dramatic, layered plots and characters with complicated histories, and there were definitely moments that reminded me why I fell for this series in the first place. I’m hopeful that the next installment brings back more of that emotional depth and character growth I’ve come to expect from their writing.

I went into Destructively Mine expecting a gripping continuation of the Webs We Weave series, and while Krista and Becca Ritchie deliver on the intrigue and complex relationships, this installment didn't fully resonate with me.
The story picks up with Phoebe Graves, a former con artist trying to lead an honest life in a wealthy Connecticut town. She's entangled in a fake relationship with Jake Waterford while secretly falling for Rocky Tinrock, her best friend's older brother. The premise is ripe with tension and moral ambiguity, and the authors do a commendable job of exploring the challenges of leaving behind a life of deceit.
However, I found the pacing uneven, with some plot twists feeling more convoluted than compelling. While the chemistry between Phoebe and Rocky is palpable, their relationship development lacked the depth I was hoping for. The emotional stakes didn't hit as hard, making it difficult for me to fully invest in their journey.
That said, fans of the Ritchie sisters' work will appreciate the return of familiar characters and the exploration of themes like identity, redemption, and the complexities of love. It's a solid addition to the series, even if it didn't quite capture my heart.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the opportunity to the read, Destructively Yours by Krista & Becca Ritchie.
I was excited to read the sequel to Dishonestly Yours. Unfortunately, I felt this was longer than necessary and the build up fell flat for me. I feel the other characters are extras in a storyline that isn’t as important as Phoebe and Rocky. So when certain things come to light, it felt unimportant and I wasn’t invested.
This story gives some answers to Dishonestly Yours questions but it felt timed out and flat as I mentioned before.
Overall, there’s not much advancement with this story.

SOOOOOO GOOD!!!!
every kbr book is perfection but this one is just so special. the found family makes me so happy and there's so many fun moments that make me so sappy. everything from the plot to the characters was masterfully written and just so enjoyable to read.
and rocky and phoebe!!!! my loves!!!! their complexity and development in this book is so evident and significant. this story was so fun and so intense!! it's filled with twists and turns that keep you engaged till the very last page.

my phoebe and rocky ❤️🩹
I loved destructively mine so much it felt like coming home!
I love the rocky and Phoebe dynamic, their chemistry, the way they're drawn to each other and they want to protect each other. Even more intense because they've known each other almost their whole life.
I absolutely love when in a book or a book series the side characters have a role and are shown, not too much but not too little and with KBR it's the absolute right amount.
And with that, the found family trope always gets me, I'm such a weak person and I get teary eyed so easily when there's a cute moment between all of them and even when they're working and establishing a con plan together I feel like a proud mama &
I also loved the way they were all trying to find where they come from and their identities and the plot twists!! omg!!!
I also was suspecting something and knowing I was right was satisfying ahah!
NOW! The PROTECTIVENESS in Destructively mine is insane I LOVE IT! Also the jealousy from BOTH SIDES was absolutely amazing I was giggling and kicking my feet
I love them good books with protective men but also protective women ihih!
Altogether the story is very well structured and well written and thought of, I never doubt KBR because they always have the best books, they will never disappoint.
(Me, at least <3)
5/5 always and forever! Can't flipping wait for dangerously ours 💗

I wanted to love this book because I was so happy for Rocky and Phoebe finally having their moment but this series as a whole kind of just dragged on for me. I already wasn’t sure if I loved the first book and what caught my interest initially was that it was a book on Con-Artists but there really wasn’t much of that but a few flashbacks and present scenes when I was expecting more deceit, lies and betrayal. What kept me reading was Rocky and Phoebes tragic love story but eventually even that felt repetitive and fizzled out for me. In addition to that it felt like the side character’s stories started to take the front row in the story which made the book feel a lot like a filler or that it was prepping for book 3, especially with that cliffhanger ending!
I’m not sure that I’ll be continuing this series. It would make an excellent TV show but I don’t think I can bring myself to keep reading due to it being a little slower pace and the conning scenes feeling anticlimactic and with the time jumps.
**Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to review an ARC of this book!

I found this to be an enjoyable read especially after reading the first one because I had to see what happened next. The tension, drama and twists in this one was a good continuation of this series. There was a lot going on and it was definitely a wild ride which I enjoyed. I can't wait to read the next one.

Destructively Mine 🕷️🍓
Destructively Mine is book 2 in the Website We Weave series by my favorite authors, Krista & Becca Ritchie!
What a RIDE! The series follows a group of 6 former con artists that are trying to start a new, honest life in a small coastal town.
I ADORED seeing Hailey & Phoebe’s friendship grow throughout the book, & just seeing more of Hailey in general!
Rocky is so down bad in this book & the tension is 😌 We learn more about all of their backstories in this book, & watching those stories unfold was my favorite part. Krista & Becca do such an incredible job when creating their characters. They feel so REAL!

If you love your romance with a side of scheming, secrets, and just enough heartache to keep you hooked, Destructively Mine delivers! Phoebe Graves continues to be at the center, and still as sharp as in Dishonestly Yours. I loved that the twins continue to include romantic drama in their stories, just enough to keep me glued, but not too much that's over the top.
The stakes are now higher as the revelation from the previous book's ending gets explored more in this sequel. And with that, we also get more of a background on the Tinrocks and Graves and the jobs they'd go on before. While getting Phoebe and Rocky's POV, we also get the past-present storyline that gives more insight, more answers, but also leaves us with a lot of questions.
There's a lot of twist and turns that left me shocked and truly desperate for book 3!

3.5⭐, 2.5🌶️
I'm honestly not sure what to think about this book. My initial qualms were that I remembered soo little from reading Dishonestly Yours last summer. I WISH the book gave more subtle recaps early on in the book - there are so many things going on that I was so lost and had to go find other reviews that gave full recaps of book one. I strongly feel that if I read this book closer to book one I would have enjoyed it more.
At times I was so invested in the mystery of the characters backgrounds, and then they would start having these obscure conflicts or conversations where it made no sense and just felt like unnecessary filler to the book. Jake's involvement in this book made kinda sense, but also didnt. The book itself felt too long and without reason. The romance between Rocky and Pheobe felt very low-importance and was just there for super random spice scenes.
What in the world was going on with Hailey? Was she this quirky in book one and I just dont remember? The characters all have such weird side stories that paying attention to each of them felt impossible and I really ended up losing the feelings of investment in all stories. By 70% I was just drained and ready for the story to be over, then of course the last 20% was pure chaos and I loved it.
Sorry my review for this book is basically "I honestly dont know whther I liked this book or not."
Sorry, not sorry (but kinda sorry). I loveeed book one and this one was just a totally different experience for me reading.
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

** spoiler alert ** So let me start by saying that I am a little biased because I do love everything that I’ve read by Krista and Becca so far. Destructively Mine was no different.
Rock and Pheobe are EVERYTHING. The love they have for each other despite everything they have to go through is just awe-inspiring. I love that even though everything around then is built on a lie they know that what they feel for each other is not a lie. They are destructive (pun intended haha) with each other and their love is all consuming but also deep down they are soft with each other. They see each other for who they truly are and the love does not falter.
Hailey’s mental health issues represented in this book really does the character justice because it shows you what these human beings have been subjected to mentally as they were brought up in this world of conning. Also, Hailey is a badass for juggling those two men at the same time and I love that both men are ok with it because they love her in their own way. I think these relationships are what she needs to be able to break out of the cycle she is in mentally and I am looking forward to see how those relationships progress especially with that cliffhanger at the end.
Finding out about Rocky’s parentage was was super sad and I’m dying to see how that is going to unfold and of course, what will happen with the triplet’s father. The webs that have been woven in this story are just mind blowing… I LOVE IT!
And finally: TREVOR IS A DOUCHEBAG. Sincerely can’t stand him and would love to see how the authors can redeem his character or see if they even try to. He just ruins everything like the petulant child he is.

📚BOOK REVIEW📚
Destruively Mine - @kbmritchie @valentine_pr_
Destructively Mine is the second book in the Webs We Weave series. Having loved the first book, I was excited to see where the second book would take us. I was pleased that it continues with Rocky and Phoebe's love story and we get to see more of the con-artist plot that was in Dishonesty Yours. This book is twists and turns and takes you on a rollercoaster of a ride.
I am so invested in Rocky and Phoebe. I loved their deliciously complex romance in the first book and so it was a joy to see this develop throughout this book. The are well written characters and have fabulous chemistry but they also have plenty of layers and depth. It's a joy to go on the journey with them.
There's a real overall theme of found family in this book and it's really good. The book hooks you and you must keep reading. The twists and turns just kept coming. Never did I think I'd enjoy a series about con artists but this is really good. You do have to read the first book though as this simply won't make sense but it's definitely a series worth investing in. I loved it.

Thank you Valentine PR for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
💭 Thoughts:
I honestly love the twins style of writing. It took me a minute to get back into this universe but once I was in, I was IN.
The second book in the Webs We Weave series. The series follows two families who are con artists.
I loved seeing more of the siblings interactions and getting some questions answered after the first book’s cliffhanger 👀
Many twists and turns - some I predicted, others I did not.
Character chemistry platonic, familial and romantic was expertly executed.
I felt that the end of the book came to a random halt and I’m glad there was a hint at the next book otherwise I would have been confused if the series had ended or if we were due more books. But I’m so excited that there is going to be more.
I’m hoping for more Nova and more Oliver in book 3 🤞🏼
💬 Favourite quote:
“Your love is really big, you know? It’s the sort of ride-or-die love that makes it impossible to feel alone. It’s why no one wants to leave you. It’s why I never would.”

I have been waiting forever for 'Destructively Mine' to be released. I missed my favorite 'ex-grifting' bff duo Phoebe Graves and Hailey Tinrock, and of course Hailey's smooth talking brother Rocky. *Sigh* There were very few things I enjoyed about this book, but Brayden 'Rocky' Tinrock made reading it more bearable.
I truly love Phoebe Graves. She is still the rock of the family (along with Rocky) and her friendship with Hailey is always steady. The major issues Phoebe (and her family) struggle with is their con artist parents and the crazy inhabitants of the small town of Victoria, Connecticut where Hailey chose for them to hide. There were moments, like when the Graves & Tinrock kids confronted their lying parents or even Rocky's interactions with Jake (Phoebe's fake boyfriend) that I expected more angst. Instead it was boring and drawn out. There are some major family revelations, though, that were intriguing. Overall, I think the 'Webs We Weave' series can't carry more than a duet worth of story content.
Phoebe and Rocky are slowly developing into my only favorite part of this series. Their close friendship makes this barely secret romance hotter than hot and sweeter than sweet. I heart these two. Phoebe and Rocky forever.
It took me awhile to come up with even this short of a review because I was just not interested in this story. I like Phoebe, Rocky, and Hailey, but even they could not save it. I wish this series well, and I will check out any further books from Krista and Becca Ritchie in the future.
3.5 stars

As someone who read Dishonestly Yours in one sitting and adored it, Destructively Mine had a lot to live up to, and unfortunately did not. This isn't to say that I hated the novel—which I did not—but I did feel like there were a few issues with this sequel, particularly from what you can call “second book syndrome.”
This is to say that, I felt, it took a while for the novel to find its footing; the first half being far too slow with far too much information. Months were skipped fairly regularly, with chapters spanning months as well, which made it a little confusing to situate myself in the novel. Especially the back half of the novel, when the last fifty or so pages spanned a single night. Don't get me wrong, the last fifty pages were amazing—twist after twist—but I did feel a little whiplash, especially with how forthcoming some characters had become, seemingly out of nowhere other than a need to move the plot forward. Also, about halfway through the novel, I realized we are in 2020, which brings me into my next gripe: the language.
If you've read anything by Krista and Becca Ritchie, you know their work is laden with pop culture references, but I don't even mean those in this case. No, I mean the language itself. This past semester, I took a fiction writing course where we routinely debated how much is too much, in terms of modern language. If anyone from ENG 370 is reading this, this novel is too much. The language is so current, so involved with microtrends and slang, that it does not seem relevant today, let alone for 2020, when the novel takes place. There is a whole conversation between Trevor and Phoebe—two literal con artists—about “offing” people, rather than killing them. In his doom and gloom, Rocky says, “Love this for me” sardonically. Those are just a few phrases from Gen-Z internet slang, despite no character in the novel being Gen-Z or online. I know that this is typical in KBR’s writing, but I do think it was overdone in this novel.
Now, if you for some reason know me at all, I adore character work. I love Phoebe, Rocky, and Jake, but I can’t say the same about the rest of the cast. There were just so many characters in this novel. In the first one, the main cast was really those three plus Hailey, but when the entire Graves, Tinrock, and Koning families arrived, I started getting lost. KBR can handle large casts of characters, as we know from the Addicted series, but in this series, it feels a little discombobulated. I know practically nothing about Nova, I like Oliver just fine, Trevor is an enigma, Claudia is the rich evil mother, Carter is British, Varrick Wolfe just arrives at lulls in the story, and Trent is Scott from Kiss the Sky but worse. Addison, Elizabeth, and Everett—the Graves and Tinrock parents—felt like nothing other than plot devices until the last fifty pages when they instantly developed empathy. And don’t even get me started on the dozen other names that kept being thrown around like I was supposed to remember their importance. With all these characters, as well, it felt like Phoebe and Rocky’s relationship was taking a backseat which made me sad. I liked their relationship, but it felt like there was only page time for them to have sex when I wanted yearning, angst, and development. I think that having this many characters and an actual plot is proving to be difficult to follow, so focusing on the main four characters from Dishonestly Yours would help both the story and the readers.
With all that being said, I did enjoy the novel. Despite the slower beginning, the rush towards the end was very well executed and I couldn’t look away from the pages. I’m not entirely sure where the series is going after this one, but I never know that with anything I read. Overall, while this did not live up to my—admittingly, unattainable—standards after the first novel, Destructively Mine turns into a satisfying sequel for the Webs We Weave series.

I really wanted to love this one, but unfortunately, it just didn’t click with me. I enjoyed Dishonestly Yours ( book 1) for its banter and the thrilling con artist dynamic, but this follow-up took a different direction that didn’t hold my interest the same way. I ended up DNF-ing around 30%. Still, I know others might enjoy where the story goes but it just wasn’t the right fit for me.
Thank you Valentine PR for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Yes. Give me more Rocky and Phoebe, and the rest of the team! There is a lot going on in this book, with the primary relationship between Rocky and Phoebe, but also the other members of their family holding a lot of space in the plot. But it all flows so well for the stories to take place, for each person to grow into themselves rather than what they were trained to do. I saw a lot more personal development taking place, which took the story to another level. And of course, the relationship between Rocky and Phoebe just blossomed once they both admitted and acted upon their feelings. They kept things nice and spicy for all the shenanigans to take place.

Thank you to Krista & Becca Ritchie, Valentine PR, and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Woah. I liked the first book in this series but I LOVED the second one!! I’m late to reviewing my ARC of this one but that’s not because I don’t love it! I love Pheobe, she is for the strawberry girls!!!!!!! Rocket again does the “hates everyone but her” trope PERFECTLY! We get the perfect amount of spice from them while also keeping fully focused on the overall plot.
I like that we are following Pheobe and Rocky but for this book, the “side characters” stole the show for me! Jake has my HEART! I need to give Hailey a hug. Someone needs to hold Oliver! And Trevor…. I’m speechless.
I love this family on con artist and I love watching them plan out everything even when the plan gets screwed up. I will definitely be looking for the next one
Thanks NetGalley and Berkeley Publishing Group for the arc

Book 2 in the DISHONESTLY YOURS series is a wild, entertaining ride packed with sizzling chemistry, high stakes cons, & plenty of heart. I definitely recommend reading the series in order to fully appreciate the character development & story. Rocky & Phoebe’s dynamic is electric, & the dual POV—told mostly in the present with well-placed flashbacks—adds a deeper emotional layer to their already magnetic connection. & yes, the spice level is turned all the way up! 🥵
It was so much fun seeing familiar faces return while being introduced to a few new ones who bring even more tension & drama to the plot. The stakes feel higher, the emotions more intense, & the twists just keep coming. It’s clear there’s more story left to unfold, & I’m already crossing my fingers 🤞🏼for a 3rd book. If you’re into steamy romance with clever plotting & a dash of danger, this series is a must!
