I can see the potential but a majority of the book just fell flat for me. The beginning and the end was decently interesting but the middle just seemed like it was entirely written by AI. It sort of felt like an ACOTAR fanfiction for a good majority of it and I know you can't compare every book to every other book in that genre but to me, there were too many similarities. None of the characters were fleshed out enough to actually care about them and the ending felt rushed just for the sake of making a sequel. If you're looking for nothing but spice though, this is the book for you. Although it wasn't exactly bad, I wouldn't really recommend it.

This had so much potential. The concept seemed great, and I was really interested in where the story was going. But the writing just wasn’t that great. The sentences felt clunky, there was no real buildup to the main characters meeting and getting together, and the conflicts were resolved too quickly.
Alissia, a newly discovered witch, has been dreaming about a mysterious man for a while. Turns out, the man of her dreams (literally) is a Nephilim, a magical hybrid of angels and humans. According to ancient texts, witches and Nephilim can’t be intimate because they’re supposedly toxic to each other. But Alissia, a scientist, suspects that’s not true. In her lab, she tests their saliva for toxic properties and proves that she and Nate can be together. However, their forbidden love threatens to cause a war between the species. As tensions rise, unlikely allies must be forged to stand against the vampires, fae and demons vying for power. In the mist of it all, Alissia faces with a difficult choice, one that could determine the future of their world and their child.
Final Rating:
2.5 ⭐️ (rounded up)
4 🌶️ (very spicy, with frequent, explicit smut and detailed descriptions. The spice is a major part of the story)

Sadly, this read like a wattpad story. I usually don’t even notice bad writing—English isn’t my first language, and I read for fun— but this time, it was impossible to ignore. That said, the ending and the battle do help the story, making you want to keep reading to find out what happens next. The cliffhanger leaves several unanswered questions that clearly set up the plot for next books.
This book was provided as an ARC through NetGalley. Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity. All thoughts and opinions in my review are entirely my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC
Wow! A totally enthralling romantasy novel complete with spice and forbidden love. The forbidden aspect is just wonderful and so well described. I felt the longing and ache along with our characters. As for the world it was fantastical and intriguing. I had a blast reading it.

The Nephilim's Fate is the debut novel in Eliza Hampstead's War of the Nephilim Series. The story, told from dual perspectives, follows Nate and Alissia, who face insurmountable odds as a Nephilim and Witch are forbidden from having a relationship due to a potentially fatal kiss. Hampstead masterfully balances plot and explicit scenes, so readers are advised to check content warnings. I found this debut novel to be captivating, and the cliff hanger ending has me eagerly anticipating the next book to answer unresolved questions.

Hmmmmmm. I don't want to be mean but this book is terribly written. It reads like AI or low-level fan fiction. The premise is fun but the book needs work.

I did not like this book.
It had potential but it needed wayyyyyy more depth. I think the story line was a good start but it could have been extradinary with better writing. I felt like I was reading fan fiction. I think the author needs a very good editor in order for this to be great. The author really needs to dig a little deeper for this story.
It makes absolutely not sense that the girl has been dreaming about a boy and then randomly finds him in a bar, he tells her she's a witch, and she is just okay with it. This needs more! I barely finished this book and only because I could see the potential of how this could have been good.

Epic fantasy that has it all - witches, nephillim, demons, vampires - with secrets, betrayals, biases, power plays and even love. Complex and engaging, and not yet over ...

I would have really been into this book if it had world building along with the plot. Without the world building I never got fully into the story. I enjoyed the characters and the conflict, I just craved the written visuals to go along with the characters thoughts and actions.

Took me ages to get through this book because I just wasn't hooked. I think the story line is good idea, but I feel like it's lacking depth and development. It all felt very predictable and "easy". Ended on a cliffhanger, but not sure I'll read book 2.

This was a good story. At times the plot line did not completely make sense, but I did enjoy reading about two people drawn together but unable to be with one another based on traditions and the beliefs of those around them.

This book made me feel like I was reading an adult, spicier version of Shadowhunters and although I wasnt upset by that fact, I am not sure it hooked me enough to keep going after the cliffhanger it ended on.

Incredibly beautiful girl goes to a bar and meets the man of her dreams. Literally.
DNF. Time of death: location 950 of 4120. It won't give me a page number.
This is the last of the four Netgalley ARC books, although considering this was released in 2022, I'm not sure why it's still there? Either way, this one was a real shame as the others had all been absolutely fantastic.
This book starts with fantastical descriptions of incredibly beautiful individuals, all of whom are incredibly flat and undynamic. The writing is very poor, with huge swathes of telling, rather than showing. It comes across as quite choppy, and at one point I even went back to the front to see if an editor had touched this. And they had! I couldn't believe it. Even within the first paragraph I'd started to rewrite whole paragraphs to make them sound like they'd been written by an adult. The overall idea appears to be pretty sound - forbidden romance, unknown powers and a broader mystery.
It is pretty apparent that this book is a crotch forward kinda novel. There's a lot of heavy spicy scenes, even early on. I think this would be fine if the characters had been given any depth and the author had convinced me that I actually cared about them.

Unfortunately DNFed pretty early on, something about writers way of writing and tone just didn’t sit right with me also felt like world building was very weak…

Prepare to be swept into a world with forbidden love, and spice, and paranormal creatures oh my! What fun this book was! Our FMC is a witch and our MMC is a nephilim and their love is forbidden- to the point of death! Maybe? I felt this book had very well developed characters and world building. It was fast paced and kept me surprised and wanting more! Can't wait to read the rest of the series!
I received an ARC of this book and am giving my honest review.

Overall I did enjoy this. It was a quick read that at times felt rushed. I wish there was a little more depth although I did have a pretty good time for the most part! Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

It loved how such a quick read this was. It was insta lovey so I was missing some tension building in the beginning and for me I would like for them to build also emotional connection first because their connection was more physical from the beginning. The world was really easy to understand which is a great plus. The plot was predictable but I would say it is great for people wanting to read something really easy which is not taking too much brainpower. This book was very well writen and easy to understand even for peoplefor which English is not a first language so I had no problem to understand what was going on.

This is the first time that I have read anything from this author. From the synopsis, I really loved the theme and plot ideas for this story. It was full of magic, and magical beings, not to mention battle and some spicy moments. There are parts of this book that I loved, and parts that I struggled with. I feel like there needed to be more depth with the plot and characters. I did love the romance part of the book, and especially the spicy! I just wish that more would have been done to keep me as interested as I wanted to be. I'm wanting to read more from this author to see how other novels are.
Thank you Net Galley ARC

Fact paced, cursed, forbidden love story between a nephilim and a witch. Alissia thought the man of her dreams would always be just that, until she stumbles upon him at a bar. Nate saves her and opens her eyes to her new world. Soon important decisions will need to be made that affect the fate of all magical beings. Will their love be strong enough to endure a war?
I enjoyed this storyline. The mix of nephilim, witches, fae, vampires and other species was done really well. I have a few players I'm rooting for in the war. The spice was nice. Not too much in my opinion. I appreciated the descriptive battle scenes. It’s written in British English but the slang was easy enough to follow. Questions were left unanswered but I'm hopeful book 2 will answer them.
"Not once did I see his face. However, I always knew it was him."

I really loved the concept of this book but the storyline felt rushed and the writing felt underdeveloped. It lacked depth to the writing and felt very surface level. I wish there would have been more suspense to Nate and Alissia meeting. Overall the premise of the book was good but I needed more from this book and it unfortunately fell flat for me.

The concept of this book was a really interesting one. However I struggled somewhat with the writing style/tone. It felt quite childish at times, lacking atmosphere and development. The over arching storyline was great, but some of the other storylines were underdeveloped and lacking substance. The intimate scenes felt unnecessary at times, with crude reference in the first chapter not really pushing me to continue reading. I’m glad I did, as overall it was enjoyable. It promised a lot and didn’t quite deliver which is a shame.
