Thanks to the publisher for a copy to read and give my honest opinion.

Book seven in the Charley Davidson series, a series you should read in order to get the most entertainment! Grim Reaper....Check. Son of Satan....Check. Huge gang of other worldly people and ghosts....Check. No book is complete without this huge gang of friends and Charley's horsing around. She spends most of this book trying to go places without Reyes following her very move. A task that she finds out is damn near impossible and hazardous to her health. Charley uses this book as a coming into her powers way, as she battles the twelve several times. Huge changes arise though toward the end of the book and we realize that there is going to be hell to pay in the next book!

What did I like? Reyes and Charley are expecting and Charley has to give up coffee. Beep is what they're calling there baby girl, and it's expected that the daughter will destroy Satan. The world building is fun in this one but Reyes protective streak was a bit wild.

Would I buy this book? I would love to own this whole series. While this wasn't my favorite book, it certainly had key points and was fun. I recommend it to people who love Stephanie Plum series or Odd Thomas.

Thoughts for the author.... I'm just happy I got the series in its entirety because I would have went broke trying to buy these!

Four stars of entertainment!

Wow! I didn't expect the things to happen in the last chapter!!! Every last chapter of each books so far have me "mind blown." I'm also loving the movement storylines on the side characters. Darynda know how to balance out each characters spotlight.

As with all of the books in the Charley Davidson series, this is a MUST READ! Charley is the perfect take on a modern day grim reaper, and her humor, introspection, and determination are a delight. Reyes is hot and sexy, of course, but he's also just as funny and intelligent as Charley is. I love his relationship with Cookie.

Charley and Cookie are Girlfriend Goals. Always there for one another. Honest and adorable. We all need a relationship like this in our lives.

The stories are always excellent and well-plotted, the writing is superb (and if you listen to the audio book, Lorelei King's narration is perfect!) and both each individual book and the overall series is totally worth your time and attention.

If you like smart writing, original ideas, unique characters, and loads of humor and love, then you do not want to miss the Charley Davidson series.

3.5 STARS!!!
I'm actually surprised that I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the previous books in this series. It wasn't a bad read but I definitely expected more after reading previous books. This story was filled with mystery, suspense and loads of laughs but I found this story slower than the others. Reyes is even more protective than before and I absolutely love the back and forth banter between him, Charley and even Cookie. One thing this story does not disappoint in is the laughs that comes with these books but I'm ready for more. I also would like for Charley to listen more and stop putting herself in danger but I guess if her character did that, it wouldn't be her. She is danger prone and get in some of the worst situations. This wasn't one a five star read for me but I definitely look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Okay. For the most part I like Charley's devil may care, somewhat spastic (emphasis on the spazzzzzz, man!) attitude. Buuuuuut, I also totally get Reyes's frustration with her. Like, she has zero regard for her own physical well-being and that makes it tough on a guy. Especially when his own special bun is cooking in her oven.

Honestly, the bun should be a good enough reason for Charley to be a little more cautious. But she's not, really. Like, maybe she's marginally more careful but...no, she's really not. She's Charley. She'll throw herself into the line of fire for a stranger if they needed her to.

Which isn't a bad thing, in a perfect world, but there are A LOT of things after this woman and she's not very conscientious when it comes to her safety. Which leads me back to Reyes. THAT GUY. Not only does he have to worry about the forces of darkness after his special lady, but he also has to deal with being his infamous self. Seriously, the dude can't catch a break. The only bright spot in his life if Charley and...MAN, I like those two together.

I have book 8 on standby because THINGS HAPPENED in this one and I want to know what's coming next. I'm off to read now!

Absolutely loved this book! So funny and Charley's having to switch to decaf much to her horror! I love her and Reyes! They still haven't quite figured out the prophecy yet though they know a little more then they did before. Charley is growing more powerful too. There were a few surprises in the book and a real twist in the ending that I'm dying for book 8 to see what happens and how Charley copes. Really good book, had me hooked from start to finish!

I love this series by Darynda Jones, and it's one that is a must have, especially if you love a snarky, kick ass heroine! Any book series worth it's salt has to have one of those, as well as a sexy man who walks into your wildest fantasties/dreams! Very well written, and a series worth reading over and over!

Four and a half stars: Another hilarious installment.

Charley is trying to avoid the twelve hell hounds, but that is proving more difficult than she anticipated because that means she must take Reyes everywhere. Aside from the hellhounds and Reyes constantly shadowing her, Charley has plenty of other things to worry about, like finding her dad, getting rid of her former BFF who continues to haunt her, uncover why there are several graves in the cemetery with no bodies, and help track down a killer. Just another day in the life of Charley Davdison, private investigator and the grim reaper.....

What I Liked:
*Picking up another Charley Davdison book is like eating your favorite comfort food. You know you can sit back, relax and snicker your way through another adventure. Reviewing the seventh book, there isn't much I can say about the characters and the antics that I haven't said before other than this series continues to entertain and make me laugh. What more could you ask for?
*Seventh Grave is a bit of a departure from the previous books. This time around, the story focuses mainly on the overall story arc as Charley learns more about her powers, her destiny and she continues to grow. The investigations and encounters with the dead take a back seat in this one. While I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a stronger mystery for Charley to solve, I did enjoy seeing more of the big picture unfold because I have been waiting six books to understand more about Charley's grim reaper abilities.
*The full cast of secondary characters is back to enhance the story. I love this terrific cast of characters. Never a dull moment. I am liking that members of the secondary cast are turning up with their own special abilities, and that they all seem to have important roles to play down the road in the final battle between good and evil.
*One of my niggles with Charley is that she is always getting her butt handed to her. Thankfully in this installment, she learns to wield her powers and she manages to take down some serious attackers. I am relieved to finally see her kick butt and take names.
*The romance continues to get better and better. Even though Charley and Reyes still have their quibbles, their chemistry is sizzling and I like the way they work together. I am also happy that the secondary romance that I have been waiting several books for is in full swing and looking good.
*The humor and snark continues to shine. You can't pick up one of these books and not giggle as you read. My favorite parts are still the funny quotes and snippets at the beginning of every chapter. I need to own some of those quoted T shirts.
*The ending was a bit easier to live with compared to the last two books. This one has a bit of a cliffhanger, but not a jaw dropper like in books five and six. I can live with it.
*Once again, Lorelei King narrates the audiobook version of Seventh Grave. Ms. King is one of my all time favorite narrators, and I love her rendition of Charley. Her narration is spot on and I throughly enjoy listening to her work. I highly recommend the audiobooks of this series. They are fantastic.
And The Not So Much:
*The problem with this book for me was that it lacked a bit of focus. While I appreciated that it spent most of the time focusing on the bigger picture, I felt like there was several story lines introduced and left dangling. For instance in the beginning, Charley and Reyes are helping Special Agent Carson investigate a missing persons case. Charley uncovers an area where several little girls were murdered and dumped. She learns the perpetrator and sets the police after him, and then there are a couple of small mentions down the line and nothing. Also there is the whole thing with Charley's missing father, he is brought up a couple of times, but it isn't of importance until the end. What was up with all the missing bodies in the graveyard? I learned many answers regarding Charley and her abilities, but I was confused at all the new story lines that were introduced and left hanging. Plus I still need to know more about Mr. Wong.
*While I adore Charley's humor, I think the whole naming everything is getting old, not to mention it is confusing. When she mentions a name, Zeus, I was thinking Zeus was a new character only to find out it is something else she has named.
*While I liked that Charley was able to use her powers when facing the hell hounds, I didn't like that once again, there were times when confronted by a seemingly normal human she was incapacitated. It doesn't make sense.

Seventh Grave and No Body is pivotal book in the series. It takes the story direction into new unchartered territory while setting the stage for the bigger picture. The romance also cements itself firmly in place once and for all. The series with its snarky humor and entertaining characters continues to be a favorite. The Charley Davidson books are the perfect books to pick up when you are in need of some comfort reading.

I purchased an audiobook copy of this book. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated for this review.
