I am grateful to NetGalley, Black Odyssey, and BriAnn Danae for providing me the advance reader copy of Jack Girlz Atlanta.
Representation: Black family, Black side characters.
TW: Sell of drugs, domestic violence in the past tense, violence, blackmail, stalking, sexual scenes, murder in the past tense.
This book focuses on the story of three sisters; Hazel, Mia, and Teyona are the main characters. The three sisters love each other. They do, however, irritate one another. Keeping secrets from one another is one cause of this. It stems from their father, Matthew. Matthew is an owner of a pharmaceutical company. He is involved in schemes. Since his daughters work with him, they are also involved. Matthew even has his wife involved in his web of lies.
Their mother Kimberly and Matthew have a turbulent love life. Their relationship is filled with betrayal and lies. All of their secrets are exposed one by one throughout the book.
This is the first time I read a book by BriAnn Danae. I enjoyed reading it. It is filled with twists and turns. The suspense kept me engaged. I also loved seeing the character development of the main and side characters.
Hazel was bold. She questioned their father’s behavior even as a child. I liked her from the start. Mia and Teyona grew on me. Mia’s growth was the most significant because she had to mature. She was in denial about their parent’s behavior but had to face it. Teyona also had to deal with the biggest secret of them all and she handled it well, considering. Kimberly was a victim of violence but was able to stand up to Matthew. Matthew was the perfect villain in the book. Overall, Danae did a wonderful job with this thrilling book.

I’m speechless, there was so much to unpack. Everyone had some type of secret motive. I’m still shocked about what the girls uncovered about their parents. Not only was that shocking but finding out who was the one responsible for blackmailing them. I felt bad for Mia, I wish she would have had a stronger backbone, what happened to her at the end would have traumatized me. I hope Teyona can heal and start working on her self-growth. Maybe her new man will be good for her. Hazel needs to find another man and focus on her art. I hope their mother can move on with her life. BriAnn Danae made another amazing book.

Jack Girlz Atlanta follows three sisters as they navigate the secrets of their father’s life that has somehow maneuvered into their lives.
I was locked in from the beginning. The secrets were those I couldn’t have imagined. Plus, that ending …. Yeah. It’s definitely a good time.
This was something different that I have read from BriAnn Danae, but it was welcomed. From a reader who reads mostly romance to reading something that was a little suspenseful wasn’t disappointing at all.

3.5 💫
Likes:
I really enjoyed the sister’s relationship, despite the issues with their dad. I enjoyed the storyline that involved a high powered black family with a background in pharmaceuticals. The plot was good.
Dislikes:
The pacing was slightly off. The chapters went through different POV’s as well as different time periods, it made it difficult to decipher which character’s POV was happening. I know that the mom’s illness affected the sister’s relationship with her, but I wish there were more glimpses into their childhood. The ending felt rushed.
Characters:
My favorite sister was Hazel because she truly could care less about receiving her dad’s approval on how she should live her life.
Overall, I did enjoy the thriller and suspense elements of the story. However, there were a few missing elements that prevented this book from being my favorite.

Jack Girlz: Atlanta dives deep into complex family dynamics, loyalty, and personal growth. The character development is top tier because I promise you at one point I didn't like anyone but Teyona. The three sisters are each carrying their own burdens, secrets, and motivations but their loyalty is stronger than all making it a realist read. I was immediately immersed in the drama and emotional weight of the characters' circumstances from page one.
My favorite part of the book is its portrayal of sibling relationships. It explores family and acknowledges both the bonds that hold people together and the secrets that threaten to tear them apart. The story is compelling story that feels both real and heartfelt.
If there's one drawback, it's that the book feels too short.
The story is so engaging that it leaves you wanting more, and a longer novel could have given certain plot points more room to develop. That said, it's still a great read!

Briann Denae this Book was no different , You always do your Big one ! This was a different turn but in a good way !

This is my first book by Briann Danae and I must say I am impressed! This book had all the twists and turns that I needed and the end was so satisfying to me! I absolutely loved this story! It was INSANE to say the least! This was definitely a 5 star read for me!

The women in this story are bold, calculated, and about their business, but when the game gets messy, loyalty and survival become the real test.
The tension stays high, and just when you think you know what’s coming next, she throws in a twist that has you flipping back pages like, “Wait, what?!” If you love urban fiction you’ll like this.

4 stars! This story follows Teyona, Hazel, and Mia and they define what it means to have your sisters’ back, no matter what. Their parents, Matthew and Kimberly, have been hiding secrets for decades, but the past has a way of catching up when you least expect it. As the truth unravels, the Grant sisters refuse to back down, fighting for what’s theirs while navigating betrayal, suspense, and a little bit of drama. With family secrets, unexpected twists, and just the right amount of spice, this thriller kept me hooked and I definitely recommend it!

The Grant's are a well-known family based in Atlanta due to their success in the pharmaceutical industry. However, their family dynamics isn't what it is believed to be. Secrets that are prayed to be left in the dark finally come to the light. The question is ... Is the family strong enough to uphold their legacy, and what would you do to uphold it?
Loved every moment of this book, I truly enjoy reading from this author🤗

This book was not the best from Briann, it seemed like it took forever to get to the point. I didn’t like how slow and naive some of the sisters were. And then it also seemed rushed. It’s forsure different from her other books, but it didn’t have me hooked. It took a min and then when it did, i only kept reading to see what happened! It’s definitely going to need a part 2 bc of the cliff hanger! But overall, still good. I feel bad for the oldest Mia just bc she really wanted love and now she experienced heartbreak twice, so I hope to hear that she genuinely find love the next time around. But, i am forsure looking forward to the love story of Teyoma, she been through a lot. Also, I’m not a fan Hazel boyfriend. I def think she can do better, but we’ll see what happens!

Abuse, lies, deceit, and greed—who can you trust as family secrets are revealed? What’s done in the dark shall come to light.
I loved the relationship between Mia, Hazel, and Teyona. Despite their flaws and moments of conflict, their bond remained strong. They supported each other through thick and thin.

This was my first book by BriAnn Danae, and Jack Girlz Atlanta delivered a mix of suspense, family drama, and high stakes. The story follows three sisters—Mia, Hazel, and Teyona—who were born into wealth thanks to their pharmaceutical mogul father. However, their privileged life is anything but perfect. Their father is a heartless tyrant who mistreats two of the three sisters, as well as their mother. He’s a dictator with dangerous secrets, and when his past resurfaces, threatening their mother’s livelihood, the sisters must come together to unmask the truth.
What I Liked:
• The suspense kept me engaged. I found myself asking questions and trying to piece things together about the sisters as I read.
• Each sister had a distinct personality and a unique voice, making them feel like fully realized characters.
• One of my favorite aspects was that the sisters weren’t waiting to be saved—they had to save themselves, using their wit and resilience.
What Didn’t Work for Me:
• The pacing felt off. Given how much time was spent building up the plot and the climax, I was sure there would be a cliffhanger and a sequel. Instead, the majority of the action happened in the last 15% of the book, making it feel rushed for a standalone novel.
• The overuse of the miscommunication trope between the sisters was frustrating. Despite being family, their bond didn’t feel as strong as I expected, making some of their interactions hard to believe.
Overall, Jack Girlz Atlanta had an intriguing premise and strong suspense elements, but the pacing and lack of believable sisterly connection held it back from being a favorite for me. I’d still be open to reading more from BriAnn Danae to see how she handles different storytelling approaches.

Secrets always find a way to come out. What is done in the dark shall come to the light.
I knew from the beginning, this was going to take me for a wild ride and it did.
It was so much going on between the 3 sisters, then the parents having their own secrets.
I did love the relationship the sisters have. They had their flaws and moment but that didn’t take away from the bond they had together. They stick together thru the thickness of it all. I respect their sisterhood!
Everything came together and it all made sense at the end of the day.
I love how straightforward and easy this book was to read.
It was so much happening at one time but no confusion at all. It all came together as it should!
Thank you NetGalley & Black Odyssey for the arc!

This was my first book by BriAnn and now I see why so many people swear by her writing style. I was hooked. Devoured this story in one day. I can't wait to read more by this author.

A story of greed, power, lust, betrayal and murder that captivates the audience from the beginning. This story was very interesting and had me instantly wanting to know more about the characters.
I enjoyed the story line of this book but the execution was not quite where I would have expected it to be. I wanted to like the book more because of the author but the story seemed very rushed and fell a little short.
While the story was intriguing, lots of information was missing in order to make the story whole. An explanation of how the mistress ended up linking with Jarel. It was also as if no one cared about him in the end when he was the cause of the sisters detriment. The biggest part was the reconciliation of Kimberly and Teyona. With the story centering around Teyona's birth which created all of the chaos and events in the book, the audience should have been able to get a look at Teyona and her mother, Kimberly, discussing everything and the readers did not get that closure. It was also a little weird that with the drama being a chain of events around Teyona's conception that Mia, the older sister was the main character.
Although the book lacked in some areas, this was a GREAT storyline that kept me wanting to solve the mystery. I rated this book 4 stars but it was 3.5 stars.
Thank you for NetGalley and Black Odyssey for the opportunity to read this ARC!

I’m very familiar with BriAnn Danae’s work and really enjoy her books. This one was different than what I’m used to from her. There was a lot going on and at times a bit difficult to follow. I felt like some story lines were dragged out while others were lacking. I set it aside at one point as it no longer held my attention. I also questioned the title until its reference at the very end of the book.

Thank NetGalley, BriAnn Danae and Black Odyssey Media for gifting me with this arc in exchange for an honest review.
From the beginning i was locked in and couldn’t wait to see how this would unfold. Abuse, murder, lies, who to trust and family secrets all happen to take us readers on a ride.
I loved the sisters and their bond. You can tell they may get on each other’s nerves but the love is there. They become even closer as weird things start to happen that raises their suspicions. This starts their deep dive into their parents and things start to make sense one secret at a time. Matthew Grant is one sick human being who is power hungry, selfish and controlling man that can’t let go. Putting down his own daughters is nasty work.
My favorite sister is Hazel. From a young age she knew what was up and didn't cave to the bs. BriAnn this book was amazing and i loved the twist and surprises.

2.5/5. Unfortunately, this wasn't something I enjoyed enough to give it a higher rating. However, I did like the mystery/thriller aspect of this book and finished it because I really wanted to solve the case and figure out what was happening.
PROS:
- Really engaging mystery component!
- Strong female leads.
CONS:
- The timeline was a bit all over the place and it would have helped to have timestamps or a clue to who was narrating at which point.
- There wasn't much character development or backstory with minor characters. I found a lot of these characters forgettable.
- This is minor, but I don't understand what the book's title has to do with the story?
Overall, I wouldn't count this author out. I just don't think this book was for me.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!

The story captures the essence of sisterhood intertwined with ambition, betrayal, and the pursuit of a lavish lifestyle, making it an engaging read for those who enjoy thrilling plots. One of the strengths of this book lies in its character development. The sisters are well-defined, each bringing their unique motivations and flaws to the table. This depth allows readers to connect with them on various levels, understanding their desires and the lengths they are willing to go to achieve their goals. The dynamic between the sisters adds an intriguing layer to the story, especially as their priorities begin to diverge. The plot itself is fast-paced and filled with unexpected twists that keep readers on edge. Although I appreciated the unexpected twist I did find them somewhat predictable. However I did appreciate the authors writing style ! The dialogue felt authentic, contributing to character development and enhancing overall engagement with the plot. I appreciated how seamlessly she blends drama with moments of introspection among the characters. Overall a decent read ! I would be willing to check out more
