The narrators sold this for me. They were so freaking good. Fun story of second chance romance and a dash of workplace romance. Couple were very cute. This was just what I needed over a long holiday weekend.
I received a copy from netgalley and the publisher.

I had hopes for this book, but they were soon dashed. The storyline was boring. I never got a clear idea of the characters, other than their repetitive inner banter, which was tiring. It's just an OK story.

A sweet, slow burn. I loved these two so much, and I adored watching them grow together through each other. The way the author talked about gentrifying neighbors, black mental health, and setting boundaries that align with your core values was done perfectly. When I say slow burn, I mean slow. If you're looking for a book that heats up quick, this is not it. But you do get bits of tension, two semi spicy scenes, and lots of love.

Sloan and August are a perfect match! I absolutely loved the dynamic between the two. This book was much better than the first in the series. I am so ready for the final installment of this series.
