The premise sounded suspenseful and I wasn’t disappointed. Naomi and her family moved into their dream house once a buyer, Summer and her daughter Luna, came through with an offer. Summer came off friendly, but quickly became Naomi’s carbon copy and taking over her circle of friends. This is a twisty, fast paced thriller. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy.

What an addictive read! From the first chapter, I was intrigued - I just KNEW something about Summer was off and I felt so bad for Naomi. Just when I thought everything would be exposed, things just kept getting worse and worse for her! I wish there was a bit more of a buildup, but there was a great twist at the end that took things in a unique direction that still fit in well with the rest of the storyline. Thank you so much for this ARC - I can't wait to read more from Boydell!

A terrifyingly horrific thriller. You know from the jump that Naomi's suspicions are right, but as you are reading you feel her anguish and paranoia. It's written so well that you feel every emotion and sense of dread. Will recommend to everyone I know!

A very creepy story! It gives The Last Mrs. Parrish vibes with the lady copycat theme. Very well written as well.

Thank you Boldwood Books for the copy of The Doll’s House by Natasha Boydell. The story was great and I enjoyed trying to figure out how she was going to get out of her predicament, especially as she kept making it worse by trying to prove her suspicions were right. It was sad how quickly her friends turned on her, and it felt very immature of them. I hated how the epilogue rehashed the book’s events but from a different POV and I wish there had been a way to incorporate that POV into the main narrative. Some people will love the final reveal! 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

I looooved this book. It had me on the edge of my seat from the get go. It was amazing how Summer got into everyones heads and how she played everyone. Highly recommend this book if you like psychological thrillers

4.5 out of 5.

This was a fantastic read! I'm a sucker for gossipy grown women drama, and this story had just the right amount. I was glued to my Kindle at all hours because I could not put it down.

**spoilers**

My only criticism is that the main plot dragged out just a touch too long. When things started getting a little too repetitive, I began to skim a tiny bit, and I hate it when my brain resorts to skimming. Oh! And Angela just, like, disappeared. Originally, I assumed she disappeared because there would be another twist involving her, but then she was barely mentioned again.

Otherwise, I was captivated. There were a few big and small twists throughout that I didn't see coming, and I felt satisfied when I finished.

Yikes! That is a true nightmare come to life for me! Naomi and her family just moved into a new house, selling their old flat to a very nice woman named Summer, whose daughter will be starting school at the same one that Naomi's daughter Freya goes to. What really got me was the frustration and horror that Naomi experienced as her friends turn on her and when she tried to tell them what was going on, no one believed her and just thought she was losing it. I had my own moments where I wasn't sure if Naomi just had it all in her head, as she was so stressed by the new house and its issues. What made it even worse was when her daughter Freya may or may not have become a victim of the same machinations of Summer and her daughter. So many creepy bits and in this case, imitation is not the sincerest form of flattery!

So, yes, this was a thrilling book with some very nice twists and was hard to put down as I had to see what happened next in the showdown between Summer and Naomi! Nicely creepy ending too! Left me with a shiver.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read this book!

I loved this book— I truly couldn’t put it down. The amount of stress it put me through watching the FMC navigate a world where no one believed her was unreal. The raw emotion and suspense had me hooked from start to finish.

One of the standout frustrations was the fact that the antagonist had the audacity to step into someone’s life and try to become the MC then act innocent.. There was plot twist after plot twist- that was slightly predictable but not the ending though- I did not see that coming!

This story is packed with suspense, and though I’m not sure if the ending sets up for a sequel or is just meant to leave us guessing, it was satisfying in its own way. I’m so happy I read this, and with its January release, it’s one you won’t want to miss!

Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood books for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I have mixed feelings about this book. While I couldn't stop reading it, I do not believe it was because I was enjoying it, and more because I wanted to see where it was going.

I found the characters quite frustrating, but I enjoyed the basics of the plot. I was not surprised by the twist, but found it pleasant and mostly satisfying.

It was certainly a speedy read, which is nice when you need a break from heavier material.

I read this in three hours! Honestly I could not put it down. Did not see the twist …. Felt like I didn’t trust any character which I love in a book! Would absolutely recommend! Hope that there’s a prequel to find out more about Summer

What a fantastic book this is, I knew it was for me from the very first page. I couldn't stop reading as I got more involved in the storyline, I went through all sorts of emotions for the characters.

Just a brilliant read with a super ending that brought everything to a satisfactory conclusion.

Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for this great book which is now one of my top ten reads for 2024. I have no hesitation in recommending this book.

The Doll's House is about Naomi who is devastated when the sale of her apartment falls through but soon single mother Summer steps in and says that she wants to buy it. Naomi is thrilled until Summer has inserted herself into Naomi's life by sending her daughter to the same school as her own daughter and stealing Naomi's friends and even dressing just like her. The intricately woven plot is thrilling while the desperation of the stalking made me feel like I was going crazy. The characters have so many deep layers that it felt like slowly unwrapping a present to get down to the many complex layers of emotions. It's a mind bending physcological thriller of family secrets, drama and friendship.

Thank you NetGalley, thanks to the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book early.
This book was a first for me by this author and also a slow burn.
Naomi has her flat up for sale and in accepting an offer the sale falls through and the next person up is given the option to purchase the flat. Having accepting the offer and no knowing what she is getting her self into with the now new buyer of her previous property. She meets Summer who seems nice and has a child the same age as one of her children! She right away suggests the same school that her children go to. All seems to be going well until it isn’t. Summer starts to want to be Naomi but the thing is no one is seeing it but Naomi and slowly her friends start to drift away and things suddenly change and strange things continue to happen. Naomi’s whole world seems to unravel all starting when the mysterious summer appears in her life.
Again slow burn and I found myself annoyed with the other characters who were taking the word of the newcomer in town and abandoning their long time friend. Towards the end there are some twists and turns and surprises but I am not gonna lie I found myself skipping and skimming for the good parts. So with that I’m gonna give the book about 3 stars ⭐️

This was an interesting read for me (at least, when it comes to how I feel about this book).

I found this to be super slow and it took me quite a while to care about what was going on. It does feel very formulaic in a sense.

I only started to care at the very end of the story when the big thing was revealed. That made me look back at the story and go "oh cool, yeah, I can see that." But it should not take a reader until the big reveal at the end to think a book is interesting. It was quite bland until that point.

And the other characters that just did not care or believe the main character, Naomi, were kind of irritating. That was too expected and cliché and just makes me think that everyone in Naomi's life is a turd and a horrible person. Even if your friend is sounding a little bizarre and acting strange, you ask them what's wrong and you believe them. You don't immediately start gaslighting and telling them they are crazy right off the bat. You're supposed to be on her side?? So basically, I have beef with the side characters.

The ending reveal was fun, just not as satisfying as it could have been given how flat and repetitive the rest of the book felt. Sorry, I'm starting to think I'm really particular about mysteries/thrillers.

Thanks to NetGalley for the e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review! My Goodreads review is up and my TikTok (Zoe_Lipman) review will be up at the end of the month with my monthly reading wrap-up.
