Nina Ford is all about going with the flow. She sees who she wants to see, does things on her terms, and won't settle for anything less. While most would consider her dating tactics playeristic, she kept a healthy rotation of men around who satisfied all of her needs – that is, until she met that one. It seems Nina finds her perfect match and is about to give in to her happily ever after until she finds out she's dating the boss at her new job. From here, the readers watch a game of tug-of-war between wanting and trying to feign ignorance about the love that is blooming.

There were many elements I loved about this book. I love the unapologetic story regarding a confident woman in the dating scene. I love how it breaks down an influencer's work, and I love the organic chemistry between the characters.

This was a great time!

I really enjoyed this book—it was such a fun and entertaining read! I connected with Nina Ford right away—her approach to juggling multiple jobs, hobbies, and relationships felt so bold and unapologetic. I loved getting to know her vibrant personality and seeing how she kept everything balanced with her unique style. I had such a great time following Nina’s story and watching how her perfectly managed life took an unexpected turn. I felt so invested in her journey and couldn’t wait to see how she handled the challenges ahead, especially as her career dreams clashed with her relationships. Her confidence and humor kept me smiling, and I found myself rooting for her the whole time.

This book was filled with charm, laughs, and some fun twists that kept me engaged until the very last page. Nina’s story reminded me that life isn’t always neat and tidy, but it’s a lot more exciting when you embrace the chaos. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a lighthearted, feel-good read with a heroine you can’t help but love.

This was amazing!!

I started out reading the eARC and switched over to the audiobook because if Wesleigh Siobhan narrates it, I want to listen.

These two were the perfect blend of a couple. Two people about their careers and personal lives. The FMC was confident and committed to her work but also her integrity in her relationships, platonic and romantic. The FMC was ambitious and determined to make things work, regardless of the risks.

I loved seeing two people enjoying each other while also blossoming into something more.

and is unapologetically herself and comfortable with who she is. That’s the vibes of Nina as she navigates dating multiple men-each with something to offer, but none she feels is the total package.
I read curvy Girl Summer last year and LOVED it. With this one the author returns with her spot-on banter that kept me laughing and some parts were totally relatable. She upped her game with this spice level it sizzles-ooh she went THERE
As a plus size woman myself, I loved the representation and how the author brings out all the instances and thoughts that plus size girlies run into in different circumstances. (Minor spoiler)Especially these restaurants packing folks in tiny spaces like sardines.
I’m sad I finished so definitely looking forward to book 3…Let’s goo

Baby, let me tell you how I had such a good time reading to this book! I read Curvy Girl Summer last year and knew I had to read this one. When I got the advanced listening copy I knew I had to press play immediately! (Other book plans be damned! LOL) What I am learning about Danielle Allen is she will get to the action immediately and I love that. She had me stressed from the beginning! I loved Nina's confident character. She was focused on her career while having fun and setting clear boundaries while doing that. Plus, she really knew how to pick her roster. But when the one rose above the rest... well he was my forerunner the entire time. Their chemistry was palpable from the start! I even got embarrassed a few times listening to spicy scenes to my car but this book was so good I didn't care. I enjoyed this book experience so much that I hated when it came to an end.

Rounded up from 4.75 stars

Thank you to netgalley and bramble for the e-arc. All thoughts are my own. I loved Nina from the first book curvy girl summer and was hoping we'd get a book on her next. This book had me laughing out loud, re-reading some scenes because of how hot it was getting, and just overall loved it from start to finish!

This book was so fun! Great banter and character development. SPICY and cute! Loved the social media aspect - this can at times be corny but Danielle Allen did a great job writing this. The friendship between the girls was AMAZING

Overall: 4.5/5
Spice level: 4/5
Tropes: workplace, CEO, forbidden

TW: fatphobia

I absolutely loved this story! Nina and Russell had amazing chemistry, and you could just tell that through all her dating, he was the one for her.

Nina's unapologetic nature and ability to set firm boundaries were helpful but also sometimes a hindrance. She got in her own way and couldn't see the forest for the trees. I love that her friends reined that in and helped her see the light.

Russell, Russell, Russell. His adventure, carefree demeanor matched Nina's so well and really kept her interested. That's why he stayed being #1 on the roster. And the way he navigated the solution to their workplace romance really was in both their best interests.

The scenes that showed all the fatphobia Nina went through were real, but she always handled that.

They say good things come to those who wait and this book was well worth the wait. I read CGS on KU last year and absolutely loved and couldn’t wait to see how she would top CGS and Plus Size Player absolutely raised the bar. Can’t see how she raises the bar next with Jazmyn’s book.

When I read a book I like to associate my FMCs with a song for me the song that best represented Nina was ‘I’m That Girl’ by Beyoncè because Nina truly was that girl. Not only did Nina know what she wanted in a man she kept her a roster to keep her needs met and how can I not say queen behavior. Her confidence, self assurance was everything and I loved how she was an influencer I’d definitely would want to follow her. Her sisterhood with Aaliyah and Jazmyn was everything I loved reading stories with strong female friendships There was a few moments of fatophia spewed at Nina and she always made sure to check those which I believe for someone who looks like Nina will mean a lot for them to see.

Her romance with Russ was so swoon worthy but also so hot and steamy. Russ was such a MAN, his tenderness, patience, admiration for Nina made my heart flutter. From the start you could how much he not only wanted her but also needed her and we love to see it. But her trying to fight her deeper feelings for him was honestly hilarious because girl who are you fooling.
This book will have you laughing out loud, smitten and feeling steamy.

Thank you so much to Tor Publishing for this e-ARC

Wow, this book was everything I hoped for and more! Nina did not come to play. I absolutely loved how confident she was in her plus-size body—it was so refreshing to see a FMC who fully owned her worth. This story was not a slow burn, and I was here for it.

Nina didn’t believe she could find everything she wanted in just one person, so she played the field until she got exactly what she needed. When the right one came along, she realized she didn’t have to look far at all. This book was grown and sexy in all the best ways.

The character development was phenomenal from start to finish, making every moment feel real and satisfying. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it!

***Thanks NetGalley and Tor Publishing Group for this ARC***

This book was amazing. I loved the fashion, the tension, the FUCK IT. OMG. I was on the edge of my seat this entire book and couldn't put it down. It was so spicy, steamy, and just WOW. I finished it in a day. 100/5 stars. I can't wait to read more.

I don't like DNFing ARCs (I actually really, really hate it) but life is fleeting and times are tough. I knew from page 2 that I simply was not going to vibe with this writer's style, so I gave up. Nicer readers than me will probably enjoy it!

*Plus Size Player* is such an empowering read! Nina is unapologetically herself and refuses to settle, and Russ is the kind of guy who would do anything for her. As a plus-sized woman, there were moments that really hit me emotionally—it’s so refreshing to read about a man who desires and loves Nina instead of the usual story where plus-sized women are always the ones pining after someone. This book is a beautiful reminder of the love every woman deserves. I’ve loved this series so far and can’t wait for the next installment! I highly recommend it!

Plus Size Player started off with the Main Character Extraordinaire, Nina speaking with one of her starting line up of suitors. She is so fun, unapologetic and fierce. Her honesty and transparency is refreshing, as is her confidence. We meet Russ as The Fun One, but he is so much more. The chemistry between these two main characters was epic. The story arc was very easy to follow and made sense. Following Nina and her diligence to being her authentic self and creating a career out of her passion, not only for her self, but as positive representation for other women that look like her was so commendable. I appreciated that the storyline ran parallel with Aaliyah's story. I can't wait to find out what is going on with Jazz and her beau. This was such an enjoyable read. I was able to read it straight through only stopping when work so rudely interrupted me. Danielle Allen tells a story in such a way that you will laugh, cry, kick your feet and hold your breath. I enjoyed every single second of this read and immediately reordered the paperback. Thank you so much to Netgalley for the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader Copy.

Plus size player by Danielle Allen was a book worth waiting for. I had no idea how she was going to top curvy girl summer because I absolutely loved that book. But after immersing myself in plus size player, I truly cannot pick a favorite in this series.

In this book, we meet Nina, who not only keeps a roster of men but is confident both in herself and her body, self-assured, and someone I would want to follow on social media in real life.

This book was hilarious and it got to the point where I was throwing my phone across the room and cackling.

This book was frustrating (in the best way) because the moments that Nina goes through makes you angry for her which is something Danielle Allen does so well. Because if as a reader we are upset, imagine how Nina (or anyone who resonates with Nina feels.)

This book makes you giddy, especially when you see the beautiful moments between Nina and the male main character. I won’t go into detail about this to avoid spoilers but can I just say “A man who pays attention to the little details and does things without having to be told to, is my kinda man”. Also Nina’s parents, so adorable!

I have been at Danielle Allen fan for years now and every time I think she cannot surpass my latest favourite she exceeds my expectations.

I’m so excited about this book. I’m going to read it again (and again — and after you read, you will want to as well). I’m so grateful to have been selected for an ARC and I have already pre-ordered my physical copy. (And if there’s a special edition coming, I’m buying that too😂)

I will be sharing this review on my Instagram and reading platforms

Last year I read Curvy Girl Summer & thoroughly enjoyed it. When I read it, I asked myself how was Ms Allen going to top it. But rest assured, theres no need to worry because Plus Size Player doesn’t miss. It is both sexy & literally laugh out loud funny. I love the overlapping timeline between both novels in this series & I am excited to see what she does with Jazz’s story. These women are a fantastic friend group & you will wish to be a part of their text chain.

Danielle Allen does every curvy girl in the world justice! I love Nina’s story with her confidence and unapologetic outlook! The love story that develops with Russ is fresh and kept me engaged. Even the suspense built in kept me reading! It’s spicy and very romantic! I can’t wait for the next book! I also posted on my Instagram! This is it and worth the wait!

I thoroughly enjoyed Plus Size Player so much so that I am looking forward to reading more by Danielle Allen! Allen delivers a refreshing, humorous and empowering romance that celebrates body positivity and authentic relationships. The story centers on Nina our “Plus size player” who doesn’t believe you can find everything you want from a man in one individual. She regularly dates a roster of men who each fulfill a need.

That is until she meets Russ. The chemistry between Nina and Russ sizzles, building into a passionate romance that feels both steamy and genuine. What sets this book apart is its authentic representation of plus-size romance without making size the central conflict. The story naturally weaves themes of self-love and acceptance while delivering a compelling romance that stands on its own merits.

The spicy scenes are beautifully done, striking a perfect balance between sensual and emotional connection. One thing I particularly appreciate is Allen doesn't shy away from showing that attraction and romance know no size limitations, making this book inspiring for readers seeking inclusive romance representation.
