So cute! This is a quick adorable rom com.

Sloane and Wilder meet at a wedding. Sloane works for Bride magazine and is writing an article about the wedding. Wilder is a groomsman. Instant chemistry. Wilder presents as your classic...F boy. He's cheeky. He's hot. He makes tons of quips. He's attracted to Sloane and is inspired to work a little harder for her attention. Their night ends with a steamy coat closet kiss and Sloane believes she'll never see him again.

Too bad he's her boss's boss's boss's son. Wilder proposes a plan for the magazine that will put Sloane in his orbit for the next six months at eleven more weddings.

Sloane was left at the altar six months ago. That leaves one heck of a mark. She's sworn off men, so she can write off the kiss with a stranger. When Wilder shows up and starts to pursue her, she's puts her foot down and says no. He's not her type. She can't trust her own instincts. And her life is already busy enough.

Sloane is very close with her family. She's from a family of firefighters and police officers. Her family has owned a bar for over 3 generations. She has her job at the magazine and works shifts that the bar. She helps raise her niece, and lives in multi unit building where her father and one brother live. She's not alone. She's fully supported. The men in her life may be protective, but they believe in letting Sloane live her life the way she wants to. I adore that. The protective instincts are there, but we don't see the machismo that can be so demeaning.

Wilder is close with his remaining family as well. He's got his own trauma that causes him to act the way he does in regard to women and relationships. His attraction to Sloane is unexpected and turns his life upside down. Look, I don't want to say that a good woman will change a man, but Wilder leaves behind his old ways when he meets Sloane. He wants different things because of her.

This book has a portion of the story told in flashbacks. I think that choice was brilliant. It added a lot to the present timeline. I thought the moments Vi chose to show in the past versus tell in the present were so compelling. It made the ending of the book for me.

Jilted by Vi Keeland is a perfect beach read for this summer. If you love romantic comedies, Jilted will be a most read. Once you start reading, you aren't going to want to put this story down. I highly recommend and can't wait to read more by Vi Keeland.

The FMC, Sloane, is a writer for a bridal magazine, who was recently jilted at the altar. She meets the MMC Wilder, a former professional rugby player and current celebrity playboy, at a wedding she is covering for a story.

The description of the book calls it a “slow burn, swooning romance where 27 Dresses meets The Hating Game”. I enjoyed The Hating Game (workplace rivals to lovers) and enjoy slow burn romances and wedding-related storylines, so the premise interested me. However, I didn’t enjoy this ARC as much as I had expected to because the description didn’t really match with the premise of the book – not really slow-burn and not enemies-to-lovers.

The book did deliver on entertaining wedding-related storylines with some humor mixed in and provided a sufficient level of spice. I also enjoyed the FMC’s relationship with her family and the MMC’s relationship with his best friend and younger brother. The representation of characters with chronic medical conditions – diabetes and Parkinson's – was also appreciated.

I’m not a big fan of playboy and celebrity/millionaire/billionaire tropes and if I had known how heavily those tropes would play into this book, I would have known going in that it might not be for me. The slow way the MMC’s backstory is revealed was done purposely to tie into the 3rd act conflict. However, this choice also gives a somewhat unflattering impression of him through the early parts of the book. His attitudes (expressed and internal) towards women and sex came across as transactional and kind of off-putting to me. I also felt that some of the ways the MMC demonstrated that he was into the FMC were over the top and in some cases cringe-worthy.

Thanks to NetGalley, Tor Publishing Group, and Vi Keeland for the digital ARC. This was my first read by this author.

Tropes: bridal party, different social classes, celebrity/athlete/millionaire/billionaire, playboy, tortured/afraid to commit MMC, he falls first, cheating exes

Rating: 3/5
Spice: 2.5/5 (rounded up by 1/2 star due to the many sexual thoughts the MMC has that readers are privy to both about the FMC and other women)

Perfect for fans of 27 Dresses but also has so many other elements that romance readers will love!

Wilder is a reformed playboy and Sloane was jilted by men and romance. Though it was a fun, flirty romance, it has its moments where it explored how previous relationships create barriers that we have to move past.

This opposites-attract romance full of witty banter, billionaire shopping sprees, and spicy good times.

The book Jilted by Vi Keeland was such a fun romance read! This dual point of views book gave a clear premise at the beginning. I felt it to be cleverly plotted and really enjoyed the female main character! The male main character was so sweet. I have a soft spot in my heart for him. This slow burn romance left me feeling smitten and full of joy! Both of them connected due to past negative situations.

The writing style is clear and easy to read. It wasn’t hard for me to get pulled right into the book. It had humor, spice, strong chemistry between the two characters, a witty banter and romance! It is a fast paced and quick read for anyone that is looking for a great romance book! I highly recommend this book! I give this romance read a 5 out of 5 romantic stars!

Thank you to NetGalley, author Vi Keeland and Tor Publishing Group | Bramble for this digital advanced reader’s copy in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Every so often a book comes my way that I can’t put down. This one has a little of everything, I laughed hysterically, got emotional, annoyed but in a good way. I found myself connecting both with Wilder and Sloane. I adored the way they met and the constant banter was hilarious. The right amount of steamy had me rooting for Wilder and rolling my eyes at the ex who “Jilted” Sloane. Absolutely recommend this story.

Thank you #NetGalley for this eARC of #Jilted by Vi Keeland!

If you're craving a romance that’s emotional, steamy, and full of romance—Jilted needs to be on your TBR. It was absolute perfection. I loved it.

Vi Keeland nails it (pun intended) with Jilted, a spicy, swoon-worthy romance that had me grinning, blushing, and flipping pages like a madwoman. Sloane, the FMC, is raw and relatable—a wedding writer trying to move on after being left at the altar. And of course, fate has a sense of humor, throwing her straight into the path of Wilder Hayes who is infuriatingly charming, ridiculously hot, and her "boss’s boss's boss's" son. Their chemistry? Off the damn charts. Wilder is the ultimate billionaire book boyfriend—protective with serious "touch her and die" energy—but also sweet, vulnerable, and utterly irresistible once his walls come down.

MY FAVORITE VI KEELAND BOOK EVER DEAR LORDDDD. Vi always kills it, has been killing it for years, but this. THIS BOOK?! Sloane & Wilder were perfection. The slow burn, the spice, THE EMOTION. I need to do a reread immediately.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tor Publishing for this Arc. These are my honest opinions. Also, this was my first read by this author.

Sloane is a writer for Bride magazine, but the kicker is she was recently dumped. On her wedding day. At the alter. Yikes! When she’s sent to cover a wedding of her boss’s friend’s daughter, she’s caught up in the middle of a bridal meltdown and ends up being in the bridal party. Where she meets Wilder—who has piercing blue eyes, a slight British accent, and a way with words.

The two find themselves in a situation where they have to see each other frequently, an opportunity that Wilder doesn’t take lightly (and he’s very open about his attraction). But is Sloane ready? Even more…is Wilder ready?

I loved the diabetic representation, as well as the character with Parkinson’s. There were cute moments between Sloane and her family. And I was really excited to read it from start to about…70%.

But I ended up feeling so mixed about this book. It made me laugh, at times it was touching, but it also made me mad.

Wilder laid it on so thick—his attraction for Sloane—that it was borderline harassment imo. He gave me the ick several times and if this were real life and Sloane was my friend…there are some red flags I would have to bring up with her.

What really irked me is that at one point, Sloane says something that hurts Wilder. It stemmed from her past trauma and was totally reasonable, granted worded “wrong”. Wilder being hurt was justifiable, but when she realizes she’s hurt him, she apologizes and wants to talk about it and he becomes petulant. Which, fine. We’re all human (or fictional characters). But it causes her to ruminate all day and then when they DO talk, she apologizes and says she was wrong and she let her past experience cloud her judgement. But he just forgives her. No apology back for cutting off communication (which is a theme with him) or copping to doing the exact same thing she did (which was let his past trauma color how he reacted). It felt toxic.

Without giving spoilers, there were at least two other inciting incidents where I wanted to scream at both characters for their behaviors. He also diffused their conversations too much with mentioning how hard he was. I like dirty talk in romance books, but read the situation man. But I guess Sloane loved it.

That said, I devoured this book. It’s a quick read. It’s got a fun plot. I just didn’t like the characters.

Tropes:
🍾 He falls first and harder (and she doesn’t give in easy!)
✈️ Instant attraction
🍾 Cheating exes
✈️ Forced proximity
🍾 He’s rich (and spoils her)
✈️ He gives her a cute pet name
🍾 Diabetes representation

And she’s done it again!! Big thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book and a BIGGER thank you to Vi Keeland for writing it. She has done it again. Vi keeland has a way of sucking you into the characters and making you fall in love with them. Wilder and Sloane were no different. Sloane and her poor broken heart—tugged at my heart strings. Wilder proved that just because you’re rich doesn’t mean you can’t go through it because he sure did. I was rooting for them from their very first interaction. Safe to say I’ll be purchasing a copy for my trophy shelf and probably purchasing a copy to gift my book bestie!!

I liked this one! The premise was unique, the growth was authentic, and the outcome was satisfying. I loved the honesty and sweetness between Wilder and Sloane, and how much they worked to get their HEA.

Jilted by Vi Keeland introduces us to Sloane Carrick, a writer for Bride's magazine. Like many of us, her life has been shaped by family and personal experiences. Her mom's passing from cancer left her with her dad and two older brothers, Will and Travis. The family owns and operates a bar in New York City called Carricks. Sloane's life has been wrapped up in weddings; from an early age, she was obsessed with weddings, even marrying the family dog. However, she was jilted and left at the altar last year by her ex, Josh, and since then, work has become a chore, and weddings are no longer joyful. When she and her photographer, Elijah, are assigned to a wedding, the bride and groom are friends with the big boss; she can tell she's a bridezilla. The Bride, Piper, requests Sloane to step in for an attendant whose mother had a heart attack that morning, and she's introduced to Wilder, the guy with the azure eyes and a smile that will make your panties disappear.

I was captivated by this story of second chances. Vi Keeland's writing style is not just engaging; it's enthralling. It holds your interest and makes you invested in the story's outcome.

3.5 Stars.

This story had the ingredients of a Vi Kreeland novel, and hit the good notes that we expect from her stories.

Sloane meets Wilder at a wedding that she is writing an article for the magazine she works for. The sparks are off the chart and she decides a little flirting won’t hurt. They share a kiss and part ways. She learns that her bridal magazine will want to do a series of articles for a year with the wedding group she met. This also means she will see Wilder. He is attracted to her but she has her walls up because she was engaged to be married and left at the alter so trust is not easy for her. However, she is also attracted to him and the chemistry is off the charts. Their attraction is tested with geography and past experiences and they have to navigate through that to get their happy ending.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tor Publishing Group for this ARC! Sloan is a bridal enthusiast and employee of Bride magazine who has been left at the altar. Wilder is the son of the owner of Bride magazine and doesn’t believe in love. Ooo the fire that is Sloane and Wilder’s banter. When they are forced to spend an entire wedding season together as all of Wilder’s fraternity brothers get hitched and Sloane is forced to write about it, their tension is one for the books.

I've never read anything by this author so I wasn't sure what to expect but this was a cute read. There was a lot more sexual content than I was expecting. Sloane is a Bridal Journalist who has dreamed of her wedding since she was 7, only to have her dreams shattered. Then in walks Wilder and her whole world is turned upside down. An easy, entertaining read that hooks ya from the get go.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

2.75 Stars rounded up to 3

Thanks NetGalley and Tor Publishing Group for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I recently read Vi Keeland's upcoming thriller and really enjoyed it, so was expecting to be blown away by her new romance. This one fell flat for me and made me feel like the two books I read were by entirely different authors. The thriller was sexy and mysterious and had an intriguing plot and this one was......not so much. This was almost written like a YA/new adult (nothing wrong with that at all). The characters were in their mid-20s, but maybe they just felt super young/immature to me because they are a full decade younger than myself?

Sloane is obsessed with weddings and has her dream job as a wedding reporter for a Bridal magazine. While covering a rich boy's wedding, she is forced in to a role of bridesmaid and meets Wilder (a groomsman). The two are instantly attracted to each other, but Sloane is on a proclaimed "man moratorium" after being left at the alter 6 months ago. Wilder takes a vow to wait for her and continues to woo her and her family. I'm not really sure what the attraction was between the two except for both of them being "hot" with nice bodies, so to me their relationship appeared very surface level. I had a hard time believing Wilder was going to change his playboy, womanizer ways for Sloane, who really wasn't that interesting (IMO).

The story also flashes back several time's to Wilder's relationship in college. I almost wish this would have been done earlier in the book so we had an idea of why he chose to be the way he was. It giving us the idea that maybe Lucas (brother) is his son and the flashbacks coinciding with Sloane's surprise pregnancy at the end really didn't do Wilder's past storyline any justice at all.

Also, there were no less than 75x in the book when Sloane tells Wilder "you're so sweet", or "that was sweet". Do we know any other adjectives, Sloane?

I love me some cocky rugby player who is also swoon worthy. I absolutely loved Sloane and Wilder, together and as individuals. Their banter and chemistry is on fire and their journey will captivate you from the beginning to the end. You won’t want to put this one down. Absolutely a favorite of mine by this author and definitely worth the read.
