4.25stars--JILTED by Vi Keeland is a contemporary, stand alone, erotic, romance story line focusing on former professional British rugby player Wilder Hayes, and twenty-six year old, Bride magazine journalist Sloane Carrick.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Wilder and Sloane) JILTED follows Bride magazine journalist Sloane Carrick as she is tasked with journaling the weddings of twelve best friends, writing about everything from food to clothing, friends and relationships but Sloane never expected to come face to face with her future in the guise of former professional rugby player Wilder Hayes, the man with whom Sloane will fall in love. From the outset, Sloane is trepidatious having been burned in the past but Wilder Hayes is determined to prove she is worthy of a second chance.
The world building focuses on the back and forth, up and down relationship between Sloane and Wilder. Not only does Sloane work for the magazine but she has her own bridal podcast, and works part time in the family business. Wilder is determined to claim Sloane as his own but the demons from his past refuse to let go, and when Sloane discovers Wilder’s father own the Bride magazine, our heroine refuses to cross the invisible line by sleeping with the boss’s son.
The relationship between Sloane and Wilder begins acrimoniously as Sloane has no idea as to Wilder’s fame and reputation. Wilder new immediately that Sloane was the woman to call to his heart but heart break and betrayal sit at the forefront of a previous love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters are energetic and dynamic. We are introduced to Wilder’s best friend Andrew; his half brother Lucas, and their father Ted Hayes; Sloane’s brothers Travis, Will, and Will’s daughter Olivia, and their father Harry; as well as Sloane’s best friend and co-worker Elijah.
JILTED is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and jealousy, love and loss, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is thought provoking, real and inviting; the romance is spicy and spirited; the characters are sassy and charismatic.

A jilted bride, forced to cover the bridal season as an editor for a bridal magazine. Enter the boss' son, who she may have kissed in a the coat check closet....
3.5 ⭐
This book was an easy read - It fit the typical vibe of a contemporary romance. My first read from this author. Nothing in the book stood out as bad or not great, but I also didn't feel that this book felt fresh or different from the normal romance genre. So it falls mid-range for me. The cover and title are super cute and many readers will likely enjoy this one.
Tropes:
💐 Dual POV
💐 Pro athlete hero
💐 Boss's son
💐 He falls first/Insta-Love
💐 Forced proximity

I applied for an ARC of Jilted by Vi Keeland because the cover and premise caught my eye—it looked like a fun, flirty read. While there were definitely cute and charming moments, some of the more vulgar scenes pulled me out of the story. I’m a big fan of light, fluffy rom-coms, so this one may not have been the right fit for me—but I can absolutely see how other readers might enjoy it.
The plot truly had a lot of promise, and I enjoyed it for the most part. Sloane, a writer for a wedding magazine, gets left at the altar and ends up having to continue covering weddings as part of her job. In a twist of fate, she’s asked to stand in as a bridesmaid, and that’s when she meets Wilder Hayes—a wealthy former rugby player and the son of her boss. I really liked the premise and thought it set the stage for both humor and emotional depth.
At first, I found Wilder to be incredibly charming. He had a strong presence, and his initial chemistry with Sloane was enjoyable to watch unfold. But as the story progressed, I found myself wishing for more emotional connection between them. Much of the relationship seemed centered around lust, which overshadowed the deeper themes that were hinted at—like Wilder’s unresolved grief from his past or the emotional consequences of being jilted. Those threads had a lot of potential, but they didn’t fully come together for me.
That said, I really enjoyed the glimpses we got into Sloane’s family life. Her close-knit family, all living in the same building and running her dad’s bar, felt like a warm, grounded contrast to the glitzy romance plot. I just wish we’d spent more time with them. Similarly, there was a nice opportunity for deeper emotional resonance through the subplot involving Sloane’s niece and Wilder’s brother, but it stayed mostly in the background.
One thing I really appreciated was the ending. Without giving too much away, we finally get a deeper look into Wilder’s backstory, and that helped round out his character in a meaningful way. There was definitely some heart hidden under the surface, and readers who stick with it will get a glimpse of that in the final chapters.
Overall, Jilted is a fast-paced romance with a unique setup, some steamy moments, and a touch of emotional depth by the end. While it didn’t quite land for me, fans of sultry romances with alpha male leads and opposites-attract tropes may find this one to be a great fit.

What's not to like on a Vi Keeland book?? Such fabulous story! Loved the relationship between Sloane and Wilder!!! When's the next book?

Thank you to NetGalley, Bramble and Ms. Keeland for the opportunity to read an ARC of this title. Honest review was requested but not required.
3.5 stars. Cute, sweet, and largely uneventful despite the promise of looming drama coming from both exes (which ended up being all smoke and no fire). Unfortunately while I felt plenty of lust coming from both Sloan and Wilder, I really only felt a connection from Wilder. Sloan gave me the distinct vibes of someone saying, "eh, why not, he's hot." I was actually really into Elijah, the sassy gay bestie™, and I really liked the cute little crush between little brother Lucas and niece Olivia.
I would have REALLY liked this if one of the exes had caused any actual drama instead of just making noise, and if Sloan had been able to convince me that she was truly into Wilder, not just enjoying a good time. Nonetheless, Jilted is fun and a good pick for readers who want a straightforward sweet story.

I love two flawed characters that can find their way to one another and Jilted exemplified this beautifully. Sloane and Wilder meet and immediately have sparks flying though she's more gun shy then him about a relationship. Wilder is so charming and impossible not to love. I loved seeing his growth from playboy to a committed boyfriend. Sloane has her own flaws but she has such a great heart for her family. I loved both characters and thought the story was so well written!

This author never fails!! I love her storytelling, the way her characters instantly become like friends. I get so invested in her stories that I can’t put them down and then hate to leave them!
Sloane and Wilder have the best relationship, wonderful banter and chemistry from the very beginning.
Ms Keeland has a knack for writing the small things in a relationship that come to mean so much. The connection and intimacy between her main characters is always just right, there’s always a little twist or something slightly different going on that keeps your attention and the side characters are so much more than just extras….I already want to know all their stories!!
This is a fun story packed with heat, heart and humour.
Wilder is all that and Sloane is the girl you want to be best friends with!
Loved it!!

Sloane works for Bride magazine, which may have been her dream job. Until she was left at the altar. Yeah. Now it's her nightmare job that's about to become that much worse when the gorgeous groomsman she had a moment with in the coat closet is going to accompany her on her newest round of wedding coverage. Sigh...it's going to be a long wedding season, trying to keep her heart (and other parts) distant from the charming, persistent Wilder, who's very commitment-averse.
Wilder sure had his work cut out for him, working his way past Sloane's walls. But he was more than up to the challenge, and he accomplished it in pure swoony perfection. Her father was there to give Wilder insight into Sloane's mind, and Wilder took his conversations with him and ran, determined to win her over before he even realized he was head over heels for her. Sloane and Wilder have smokin' hot chemistry, and more than their fair share of heart. I don't think their story is the start of a series, but I definitely wish it were, because I could read about them and any of their friends forever.

A fun and heartwarming slow burn romance. It will completely captivate you from start to finish as it gives you all the feels. I loved the characters, the witty banter and sizzling chemistry. It has just the right amount of spice, swoon and humor. It’s definitely a must read!

Bramble's first never-before-published title from #1 New York Times bestseller Vi Keeland is Jilted, a slow-burn, swooning romance where 27 Dresses meets The Hating Game.
Weddings. I spend every working minute thinking and talking and writing about weddings, when the very concept makes me want to scream. After my fiancé abandoned me at the altar last year, my dream job at Bride magazine has turned reoccurring nightmare.
To add insult to injury, I’ve been conscripted into the bridal party of some bridezilla just because she knows the owners’ son. So of course I spend all afternoon bickering with one of the groomsmen and all evening making out with him.
Things only get better when I learn that of course he’s the owner’s son and I’ll have to spend the rest of the season working with him at every single wedding I cover this year.
Can the jilted bride and the man who is afraid of love find a way to heal each other?
I absolutely loved Sloane and Wilder’s story! From the very first pages, I was completely hooked. Their chemistry, the slow-burn tension, and the heartfelt moments made this an unforgettable read. A perfect mix of swoon-worthy romance and emotional depth!

4.5 stars
Let me just say… Wilder Hayes has officially ruined all other book boyfriends for me. Former rugby star? Check. Ocean-blue eyes? Check. Willing to drop $300 on a cupcake just for a chance at a kiss? Um, CHECK! 🧁💸 This man fell hard and fast. Whether he’s jetting across the country or spoiling Sloane just because he can, Wilder is the literal definition of book boyfriend goals.
Now enter Sloane, our jilted bride-to-be who’s sweet, sharp, and just trying to find her footing after her “happily ever after” crashes down. She's a diabetic, a writer, a content queen for Bride magazine, and totally NOT looking for love—until Wilder comes crashing into her life.
The banter? Top-tier.
The tension? Chef’s kiss.
The coat closet scene?? Say less.
And don’t even get me started on “leaving room for Jesus” and the craziness in the ER.
Yes, there’s a 3rd-act breakup (cue my dramatic gasp 😱), but trust me—Wilder redeems himself in a BIG way. And the epilogue? It’s everything your romantic heart could hope for.
“The perfect ending to our love story.”
“No, sweetheart. It’s not the ending. It’s only the beginning.”
💫 A whimsical, witty, and wildly romantic read that had me hooked from page one. Add JILTED to your TBR immediately—and prepare to fall hard.

This was a cute book! The fact that Sloane was left at the alter is absolutely awful but one good things came out of it...Wilder. What happens when you fall for your bosses son?

Vi Keeland is definitely one of my one-click, sign up fast for an ARC review author I've had the pleasure of meeting in person. Jilted is another book that ranks right at the top of my Vi favorite reads.
I loved the characters of Sloan and Wilder. This slow burn romance was one I could not put down.
These two were made for each other despite their differences.

Snappy dialogue, family and love…
What more could I have asked for? At the end, I couldn’t choose between Sloane and Wilder as my favourite character as both shined.
Obsessed with weddings since she was a child, Sloane suddenly found herself in a career that no longer had the same appeal. Being a bride, having a big day was no longer as much fun as she thought it would be and Wilder somehow arranged for them to be at eleven more. Eleven! For someone who had no interest in forever after, he sure had a funny way of showing it… But then, their meeting was going to shake them both to the core…
The spark between them was instant and one wedding after another meant they would have time to connect, and connect again, as she resisted and he tried to change her mind. Their interactions were full of laughter and heat, and each one upped the ante even more. With emotional depth underscoring the connection between them, this was a long game, and unraveling the past was going to make their future bright indeed…
Loved it!

This was my first Vi Keeland romance and I absolutely loved it! Jilted was the perfect wedding romance to start the Spring season with. Sloane and Wilder were such a joy to read. These story was both light-hearted and funny and strong and emotional at the same time. I will definitely be reading more from this author!

A new favorite in the world of rom-coms for me. The way the story unfolded and the banter between Wilder and Sloane was so good. There was heartache and forgiveness strung throughout the book that really applied to how real life relationships can unfold. I couldn’t put this book down and wanted to read what would happen next with every free moment that I had.

This was exactly what I look for in a contemporary romance. The characters were well fleshed out. The plot made sense. There weren’t over dramatic misunderstandings. And the banter was delightful.
I especially appreciated the thought put in to all of the characters. The two leads, Sloane and Wilder, both had a lot of depth to them, and were working through different issues. The relationship with Sloane and her dad was wonderfully supportive and complex. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and lost a fair amount of sleep staying up to read just one more chapter.
Sloane is a journalist who writes a column for a Bridal magazine and therefore attends frequent weddings. This isn’t always easy for her, seeing as she herself was jilted at the altar. Due to unforeseen circumstances and a very dramatic bridezilla, she ends up as a bridesmaid in a wedding for a couple she doesn’t actually know. To make matters more complicated, she’s paired with a very attractive man for the ceremony.

This was a really sweet and funny slow-burn. From the start, there is excellent banter as both main characters have quick wit. They go toe-to-toe quite a few times and it always had me chuckling. I loved how sweet Wilder was even though he never wanted credit for it. They truly were an excellent pairing and took their time getting to know each other.
I did knock off a star due to how often we heard about Wilder’s sexual past. I get he was a playboy before but, when I’m reading a romance I don’t want the constant reminder of the MMC’s previous conquests. I also didn’t love the bit about his best friend cheating. It didn’t add to the story and it made me not like that character. Overall, this was a quick, light, and fun read.
Thank you so much to Vi, Tor Publishing Group, Bramble, and NetGalley for this ARC in return for my honest review. My opinions are my own.

3.5 stars. This was a quick and fun read. I enjoyed this book but didn’t leave a lasting impact on me. Wilder is 🔥🔥🔥

This book was so disappointing in so many ways.
Too many tropes just thrown there, a couple of unnecessary revelations. The MMC and FMC didn’t feel like they had much of a connection. I mean, this guy is a ladies’ man and he gets hooked on the FMC. Okay, sure, I can bite it, but it doesn’t seem real that he’s the oe who falls first and says I love you after less than two months of having known the FMC.
The premises weren’t bad, it’s everything else that was. Still, I read it in less than a day so thankfully it was a pretty fast read.
Thank you NetGalley for the arc. All opinions are my own.
