After the jilt…

Sloane works for Bride magazine.
When Sloan gets roped into being a bridesmaid, she meets Wilder.

Sloan wants to take a year off from dating. However, Wilder would love nothing better event to hook up with Sloane.

I enjoyed this fast, paced tug of wits between Sloane and Wilder.
Recommend.

What a cute book! I was totally charmed by the wedding meet cute — such a fun and fresh way to kick things off. Sloane was a standout for me; she had so many layers and I loved getting to know her more with each chapter. And Wilder? Swoon. He was so focused and determined, and I really admired how he went after what (and who!) he wanted.

The chemistry between Sloane and Wilder was 🔥 — their banter was sharp, flirty, and just plain fun. I also really enjoyed the supporting characters; they added so much depth and color to the story without ever distracting from the main romance.

Overall, this was a delightful read that had me hooked from start to finish. If you're looking for a romantic story with heart, humor, and great characters, definitely pick this one up!

Omg! Vi Keeland is definitely one of my go to authors so I’m always excited when she has a new book coming out!! Jilted is a slow-burn, swooning romance where 27 Dresses meets The Hating Game. Sloans always been in love with the concept of the perfect wedding since she was a little girl but her dream job at Bride magazine has turned reoccurring nightmare after Sloan’s fiancé abandoned her at the altar last year. She spends every working minute thinking, talking, and writing weddings! Then she ends up having to be a bridesmaid at the wedding she is covering when a bridesmaid call out pairing her up with a very hot groomsman, Wilder, that she can’t quit bickering with and ends up making out with in the coat closet! When the first segment is a hit she then has to cover all the groomsmen’s wedding for a year meaning she will see Wilder at all of them since he’s the owner’s son! Sloan has sworn off dating for a year but Wilder is making it very difficult! Wilder is instantly smitten with Sloan and very persistent for her to go out with him! Can she continue to resist his azure eyes, swoon worthy smile and that lilt of a British accent?! Plus he’s a professional rugby player!! Both Sloane and Wilder have been hurt in the past! Love getting their back story and seeing how these two slowly help each other get over their past! Of course we get a little angst and definitely all the feels!! The ending was absolutely perfect and gave me a little bit of happy tears at the end! 5 + stars for me! I definitely recommend it!!

Vi Keeland is one of my most favorite authors and always a one-click for me! Jilted was fun and heartwarming and made me smile so much. Sloane and Wilder's story is spicy and full of swoon and no one does witty banter like Vi. I am downloading the audiobook now and can't wait to dive in since I loved reading the ebook so much.

I wanted to love this book, but it just didn't work for me. I didn't feel like there was much of a plot and I didn't like the MMC.

The book cover is beautiful and I have loved every Vi Keeland book I've ever read, so I hate to give this one a lower rating, but I was bored with it.

Sloane & Wilder’s chemistry were scorching hot from the moment they met but both have their own relationship hang-ups to overcome. However, Wilder knew he wanted Sloane and was willing to do anything to win her over which I find very commendable. Sloane was slower to give in to her feelings for Wilder but can’t really blame her for running scared after being jilted at the altar. Overall this was a fun read and I appreciate that there was no unnecessary drama before the HEA.

📚 Sloan writes about love for a living but doesn’t believe in it anymore—not since her own dream wedding turned into a nightmare. When she’s forced into a bridal party for work, the last thing she expects is to fall into a heated argument—and then a sizzling kiss—with Wilder, the owner’s too-charming, off-limits son.

👨‍👧 Sloan is strong, witty, and guarded with good reason. Her pride is relatable, and her growth is real. Wilder, a rugby-playing commitment-phobe turned smitten golden retriever, falls hard and fast. Watching him try to crack her walls? Irresistible.

💞 The romance is a deliciously slow burn. Full of tension, stolen glances, and swoon-worthy moments that mean something. When they finally come together, it’s not just steamy—it’s healing. You feel it.

👧 Side characters like Will and Andrew add levity, heart, and potential spin-offs. This world feels lived in—and you’ll want to return.

✍️ Vi Keeland delivers her signature charm, banter, and pacing with a little extra depth here. The narration by Aiden Snow and Andi Arndt is top-tier—adding layers of emotion and energy that bring the characters vividly to life.

🌟 Jilted took me by surprise in the best way. It’s heartfelt, funny, and healing. Not just about falling in love—but choosing to trust again. A standout in Vi Keeland’s catalog and one I’ll be reaching for again.

Sloane works in the wedding industry, even though her fiancé abandoned her at the altar. Working at Bride magazine is difficult, but it's worse when the bridezilla at her latest assignment has her fill in for a missing bridesmaid opposite the gorgeous but annoying Wilder Hayes. After a coatroom incident she'd rather forget, she finds out that Wilder is the boss's son, and will be working with her at every wedding for the season.

Sloane is a hard worker, pulling long hours at Bride magazine, traveling to document weddings for it, and also getting roped into helping at her family bar for various shifts or looking after her niece. Family is important to her, especially after her ex jilted her to return to his ex, and she has a moratorium for one year on dating again. The drunken making out in the coatroom has only gotten Wilder more interested in her, and he plans to prove he's not a player as he tags along for the dozen weddings that must be documented. There's the forced proximity for the romance to happen, and we see enough of Wilder's POV to know he's earnest with his interest.

Both Sloane and Wilder have baggage in their love lives. Sloane didn't date, and Wilder did nothing but date. This puts them at odds, and both have to face their fears based on the past. I really liked the family members on both sides that we see, and both have really good friends who are fun to see on the page. They get along really well, so it was fun to see them fall in love and accept it. We have our happily ever after and a great romantic read.

AMAZING!!!
From the moment I finished the first two chapters of Jilted I knew I was hooked.
I enjoyed everything about Wilder and Sloane’s story.
This slow burn romance was perfectly written. I liked that even though Wilder and Sloane met, had a connection, that their story took time to develop into something deep and meaningful. They had both been hurt when they met and they got to somewhat heal before their beautiful love story happened.
Their story is filled with flirty banter, emotion and sizzling chemistry.
This was just such a fascinating, captivating and interesting romance to escape into.
A remarkable storyline with riveting, relatable and entertaining characters.
A MUST READ!!!

4.25stars--JILTED by Vi Keeland is a contemporary, stand alone, erotic, romance story line focusing on former professional British rugby player Wilder Hayes, and twenty-six year old, Bride magazine journalist Sloane Carrick.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Wilder and Sloane) JILTED follows Bride magazine journalist Sloane Carrick as she is tasked with journaling the weddings of twelve best friends, writing about everything from food to clothing, friends and relationships but Sloane never expected to come face to face with her future in the guise of former professional rugby player Wilder Hayes, the man with whom Sloane will fall in love. From the outset, Sloane is trepidatious having been burned in the past but Wilder Hayes is determined to prove she is worthy of a second chance.

The world building focuses on the back and forth, up and down relationship between Sloane and Wilder. Not only does Sloane work for the magazine but she has her own bridal podcast, and works part time in the family business. Wilder is determined to claim Sloane as his own but the demons from his past refuse to let go, and when Sloane discovers Wilder’s father own the Bride magazine, our heroine refuses to cross the invisible line by sleeping with the boss’s son.

The relationship between Sloane and Wilder begins acrimoniously as Sloane has no idea as to Wilder’s fame and reputation. Wilder new immediately that Sloane was the woman to call to his heart but heart break and betrayal sit at the forefront of a previous love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters are energetic and dynamic. We are introduced to Wilder’s best friend Andrew; his half brother Lucas, and their father Ted Hayes; Sloane’s brothers Travis, Will, and Will’s daughter Olivia, and their father Harry; as well as Sloane’s best friend and co-worker Elijah.

JILTED is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and jealousy, love and loss, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is thought provoking, real and inviting; the romance is spicy and spirited; the characters are sassy and charismatic.

A jilted bride, forced to cover the bridal season as an editor for a bridal magazine. Enter the boss' son, who she may have kissed in a the coat check closet....

3.5 ⭐

This book was an easy read - It fit the typical vibe of a contemporary romance. My first read from this author. Nothing in the book stood out as bad or not great, but I also didn't feel that this book felt fresh or different from the normal romance genre. So it falls mid-range for me. The cover and title are super cute and many readers will likely enjoy this one.

Tropes:
💐 Dual POV
💐 Pro athlete hero
💐 Boss's son
💐 He falls first/Insta-Love
💐 Forced proximity

**spoiler alert** This review is based on an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review This review may contain spoilers.

I applied for an ARC of Jilted by Vi Keeland because the cover and premise caught my eye—it looked like a fun, flirty read. While there were definitely cute and charming moments, some of the more vulgar scenes pulled me out of the story. I’m a big fan of light, fluffy rom-coms, so this one may not have been the right fit for me—but I can absolutely see how other readers might enjoy it.

The plot truly had a lot of promise, and I enjoyed it for the most part. Sloane, a writer for a wedding magazine, gets left at the altar and ends up having to continue covering weddings as part of her job. In a twist of fate, she’s asked to stand in as a bridesmaid, and that’s when she meets Wilder Hayes—a wealthy former rugby player and the son of her boss. I really liked the premise and thought it set the stage for both humor and emotional depth.

At first, I found Wilder to be incredibly charming. He had a strong presence, and his initial chemistry with Sloane was enjoyable to watch unfold. But as the story progressed, I found myself wishing for more emotional connection between them. Much of the relationship seemed centered around lust, which overshadowed the deeper themes that were hinted at—like Wilder’s unresolved grief from his past or the emotional consequences of being jilted. Those threads had a lot of potential, but they didn’t fully come together for me.

That said, I really enjoyed the glimpses we got into Sloane’s family life. Her close-knit family, all living in the same building and running her dad’s bar, felt like a warm, grounded contrast to the glitzy romance plot. I just wish we’d spent more time with them. Similarly, there was a nice opportunity for deeper emotional resonance through the subplot involving Sloane’s niece and Wilder’s brother, but it stayed mostly in the background.

One thing I really appreciated was the ending. Without giving too much away, we finally get a deeper look into Wilder’s backstory, and that helped round out his character in a meaningful way. There was definitely some heart hidden under the surface, and readers who stick with it will get a glimpse of that in the final chapters.

Overall, Jilted is a fast-paced romance with a unique setup, some steamy moments, and a touch of emotional depth by the end. While it didn’t quite land for me, fans of sultry romances with alpha male leads and opposites-attract tropes may find this one to be a great fit.

What's not to like on a Vi Keeland book?? Such fabulous story! Loved the relationship between Sloane and Wilder!!! When's the next book?

Thank you to NetGalley, Bramble and Ms. Keeland for the opportunity to read an ARC of this title. Honest review was requested but not required.

3.5 stars. Cute, sweet, and largely uneventful despite the promise of looming drama coming from both exes (which ended up being all smoke and no fire). Unfortunately while I felt plenty of lust coming from both Sloan and Wilder, I really only felt a connection from Wilder. Sloan gave me the distinct vibes of someone saying, "eh, why not, he's hot." I was actually really into Elijah, the sassy gay bestie™, and I really liked the cute little crush between little brother Lucas and niece Olivia.
I would have REALLY liked this if one of the exes had caused any actual drama instead of just making noise, and if Sloan had been able to convince me that she was truly into Wilder, not just enjoying a good time. Nonetheless, Jilted is fun and a good pick for readers who want a straightforward sweet story.

I love two flawed characters that can find their way to one another and Jilted exemplified this beautifully. Sloane and Wilder meet and immediately have sparks flying though she's more gun shy then him about a relationship. Wilder is so charming and impossible not to love. I loved seeing his growth from playboy to a committed boyfriend. Sloane has her own flaws but she has such a great heart for her family. I loved both characters and thought the story was so well written!

This author never fails!! I love her storytelling, the way her characters instantly become like friends. I get so invested in her stories that I can’t put them down and then hate to leave them!
Sloane and Wilder have the best relationship, wonderful banter and chemistry from the very beginning.
Ms Keeland has a knack for writing the small things in a relationship that come to mean so much. The connection and intimacy between her main characters is always just right, there’s always a little twist or something slightly different going on that keeps your attention and the side characters are so much more than just extras….I already want to know all their stories!!

This is a fun story packed with heat, heart and humour.
Wilder is all that and Sloane is the girl you want to be best friends with!

Loved it!!

Sloane works for Bride magazine, which may have been her dream job. Until she was left at the altar. Yeah. Now it's her nightmare job that's about to become that much worse when the gorgeous groomsman she had a moment with in the coat closet is going to accompany her on her newest round of wedding coverage. Sigh...it's going to be a long wedding season, trying to keep her heart (and other parts) distant from the charming, persistent Wilder, who's very commitment-averse.

Wilder sure had his work cut out for him, working his way past Sloane's walls. But he was more than up to the challenge, and he accomplished it in pure swoony perfection. Her father was there to give Wilder insight into Sloane's mind, and Wilder took his conversations with him and ran, determined to win her over before he even realized he was head over heels for her. Sloane and Wilder have smokin' hot chemistry, and more than their fair share of heart. I don't think their story is the start of a series, but I definitely wish it were, because I could read about them and any of their friends forever.

A fun and heartwarming slow burn romance. It will completely captivate you from start to finish as it gives you all the feels. I loved the characters, the witty banter and sizzling chemistry. It has just the right amount of spice, swoon and humor. It’s definitely a must read!

Bramble's first never-before-published title from #1 New York Times bestseller Vi Keeland is Jilted, a slow-burn, swooning romance where 27 Dresses meets The Hating Game.

Weddings. I spend every working minute thinking and talking and writing about weddings, when the very concept makes me want to scream. After my fiancé abandoned me at the altar last year, my dream job at Bride magazine has turned reoccurring nightmare.

To add insult to injury, I’ve been conscripted into the bridal party of some bridezilla just because she knows the owners’ son. So of course I spend all afternoon bickering with one of the groomsmen and all evening making out with him.

Things only get better when I learn that of course he’s the owner’s son and I’ll have to spend the rest of the season working with him at every single wedding I cover this year.

Can the jilted bride and the man who is afraid of love find a way to heal each other?

I absolutely loved Sloane and Wilder’s story! From the very first pages, I was completely hooked. Their chemistry, the slow-burn tension, and the heartfelt moments made this an unforgettable read. A perfect mix of swoon-worthy romance and emotional depth!
